Always interesting, high quality goods. A great place to pick up Tartine bread.
Everyone working is so kind and friendly! Bagels are awesome. Family favorite!
Great product selection. Helpful staff. Love this store!
Beautiful little shops in SF for finding speciality gems… lots of fun treats and local goodies. Lovely people too!
Epicurean Trader has one of the best selections of spirits in SF. It's truly a delight to browse their shelves.
Friendly staff that makes shopping there a personal experience. Boutique shop with unique items.
They have wonderful paninis, my favorite is the salami, cheese, and pickle. They have unusual finds, crackers, cookies, chocolates, chips, cheese, charcuterie, breads and pastries, as well as wine and liquor.
Excellent customer service and fun selection of products to pick from. Perfect for a last minute party or picnic item.
Wonderful people, pastries, and coffee. Always a great spot to get work done and the staff are super friendly. “Rebel within” pastry is great.
Fun lovely store. Lots to choose from for fine gifts and treats.
They finally had my Rancho Malladuco dates. I couldn't find them, asked, and there they were! Thanks!!!
I love Epicurean Trader. They have so many cool and interesting things in the shop and the staff are lovely. The café side has great pastries and savory options, and a really good coffee.
The Epicurean is a fun little shop to browse for unique gifts for foodie friends, or treats for yourself. I can never leave without finding something I want to try. They also serve delicious food (breakfast items, paninis) and coffee/alcoholic bevs that you can enjoy there while people watching along Union.
Love Epicurean Trader! Carry Tartine my fav and so many yummy goods. always a treat to shop and explore.
Bought pastries for a meeting - so good, huge hit - I was quite the star for bringing such tasty treats!
Such a cool variety of products at this shop! I spoke to a guy (Irish accent) for a little bit who was very friendly and helpful too. I was there on the later side so I didn’t get to try the bakery/coffee shop side, unfortunately, but it looks really good
San Francisco is full of high end grocery stores with overpriced goods you don't really need, and The Epicurean Trader is the king of them all. It stocks all sorts of fabulous treats. From small batch artisinal ketchup to a wide array of obscure and delicious alcohols. It will cost you a fortune to shop here and you'll have a wonderful time and a full larder. Their new extension serves coffee and (soon) wine.
This place had recently expanded! Should show up on the map better bc it's amazing! So many delicious pastry options, both sweet and savory.

Our favorite neighborhood small grocer. Coffee is delicious, the pastries in the morning are a treat. Staff is so friendly and helpful! We love coming here for any bespoke items
Every time I go into there store I find something very unique to cook with Also there sandwiches are amazing 👏 🤩
Beautiful environment with top-level selection of spices, condiments, and mixers for cocktails. I especially love their bread selection of Apero. Their staff is always welcoming and very knowledgeable.
Great products. Excellent variety. My only issue is the single check out line for both people ordering food to be prepared and those making a single item purchase. Standing in line for 8-10 minutes to buy a bag of bagels is a bit frustrating. But I am glad they are in the neighborhood.
Great neighborhood place. Love their cookies and Tartine bread. Wonderful selection of Scotch. So lucky to have them down the street.
I love this place! When it opened in our neighborhood I couldn't wait. Gear unique wines, liquors, chocolate and coffee plus a great cheese selection. It's great for small gifts. The staff is always helpful and gives great advice.
I love that The Epicurean Trader has so many locations across the city, all conveniently located. Every time I come here I find something new to try; I appreciate that they're always bringing in new local brands. This is probably the number one place that I shop at when I need a gift for a friend or family member, I feel like there's something for everyone. When it comes to their cafe I love that they brew Equator coffee and that they have Craftsman and Wolves + Tartine baked goods - I highly suggest trying their lemon poppyseed chai muffin, it's phenomenal!
As advertised, something approaching one-stop shopping for the epicurean for whom curation and quality are higher priorities than bargains. Particularly appreciated are direct access to Bi-Rite ice cream and Tartine bread in the Bernal Heights location; the single malt selection is not huge but features some deep cuts that sell out at larger retailers. Great for picking up a last-minute dinner party gift.
Stopped by Epicurean Trader today and had a great experience. Ordered an open-face lox bagel (plain bagel, plain cream cheese) and even though they were out of capers, I grabbed a jar and the staff offered to add them on for me — a small gesture, but genuinely appreciated. Picked up a few other items as well, and everyone I interacted with was professional and friendly. The bagel itself was excellent. Solid food, solid service, and a place that clearly pays attention to the details.
Delicious food, beautiful wine and spirits, fresh flowers, thoughtful cards and gifts, and perfect coffee drinks served by the most charming, warm-hearted team. Truly the perfect little shop! And being right next to the bus stop is the cherry on top! 🍒
The Epicurean Trader has great coffee and food, especially the breakfast sandwich. The staff is always very nice and welcoming and service is quick even when the place is busy. They also have a unique selection of groceries that are always fun to browse.
Neighborhood Vibe with International flavors... Bougie, Boutique, Gourmet & Everyday people walking through selecting their evenings meal and libations.... clone this vibe, franchise this spot, stop in before it becomes unreachable because of its popularity. I think the last boutique store to have this kind of draw and diversity in their product lines grew up to be a Whole Foods kind of spot.... Yes.... it's that good...
I love this store. I love browsing the shelves and finding new items. Loved their pecan shortbread today and another shopper told me their morning buns are so good and sell out very early.
I look forward to coming to San Francisco and being able to visit the Epicurean Trader for their chocolates and variety of alcohol. But have to give a big shout out for their truffle cheese sandwich and those brownies. I wish they had a store like this where I live.
Love Epicurean Trader! I count on them to carry Tartine bread and buy a loaf or two every few weeks. It is also my go-to place for gifts; speciality alcohols and chocolate. Great neighborhood place!

It's nice. The only thing I don't like about it (hence the four stars) is that their selection is spotty, and there are a lot of normal food items they don't carry. So, I've often walked in there and come out disappointed. They'd get more traffic if they'd be a bit more of a normal grocery, rather than only stocking the super-chichi stuff. End up having to walk down the street to Luke's Local a lot when I would rather have bought here.
The food at the cafe is pretty good though the service was very slow today even though it was not crowded. Also note that the iced tea is “seasonal” so may be an unexpected flavor. Today I ordered it and ended up with something I’m allergic to! I hit up the store across from the cafe when looking for non alcoholic drink options.
Some quality food selection, but inconsistent, and a clueless staff. "Oh, there glasses are great. Do you have any in stock beyond the two on the shelf?" "I don't know." "What do these cost?" "I don't know." "Will you get more in...?" "I don't know."
I wouldn't have a problem to pay those prices to treat myself every once in a while. But I am not paying it and then drink from a paper cup and eat my sandwich from a piece of plastic wrap. What gourmet place that wants people to sit down doesnt even have real cups and plates..
I liked when you just had the store. Cafe starting to feel like a gas station convenience store experience. Low skilled people behind the counter.
Your experience will depend totally on what you order here. I got a Farmers Breakfast Sandwitch that was so super poorly made and disgusting that I had to throw away this $17 meal after my first bite while others seem to enjoy theirs just fine. Make sure to ask questions about how it is prepared and what the description, which seem very poorly constructed and worded, mean. For example the "tomato relish" on the description turned out to be a very poorly made sweet dressing that had absolutely nothing to do with tomatoes.
Staff has a very bad and unfortunate attitude. Honestly, sandwich and pastries were overly priced for what it was, spend your money somewhere else.
I work nearby and always enjoy their cafe on my break times but lately they have been closing it down early. I walked in Wednesday afternoon a little before 1:30pm and was notified that the bar was closed early and already shut down. They didn’t give a specific reason but it’s disappointing specially since closing time is listed at 2. Normally I wouldn’t mind but this has happened multiple times already and honestly it’s happened so often that I feel like they should just make the closing time an hr earlier to avoid this issue.
Love the cold brew, but was here last Friday during the post-yoga rush and it was very slow and they were out of half and half at 8am! Great vibe and coffee here, but just wish they were more efficient during busy times 🙏
I often feel like I am bothering the staff when I ask for help at the Bernal Heights location. Also, the price labels are never in the right spot or accurate to the item--you always have to go to the register to find out the mystery price. One last thing is that I don't understand the recent addition of bath/beauty items--they don't fit the vibe for a mostly culinary/artisan store

Overpriced. The ham Swiss baguette is like $15 and is prepackaged airport food. I don’t recommend this place. Coffee also overpriced and breakfast sandwich is mediocre
This latte with oat milk cost $8.29 I get my coffee here instead of the other coffee shops in my neighborhood to support their business. However, I don’t think I will be doing this again. The cost of this coffee was also paid with cash. If I had paid with a card, it includes 3% surcharge. “Everything is more expensive now” was the response I got from the staff as I was a bit shocked about the price. That is a reason we are all aware, but it should not be the default to explain to your customers why items cost more but they should still support your business.
