Came here for the Wine Wednesday dinner where we got an appetizer, pasta, pizza, dessert, and wine for $60. Given that is more than plenty for 2 people, this is hard to beat in SF. We ordered the Parma e Burrata to start, Pasta Tartufo, the Pink Alarm Fire pizza, and a rosé. As always, the Parma e Burrata and the pasta were spot on. Our waiter recommended pizzas #3, #11, or #24, and the Pink Alarm Fire did not disappoint. The wine was more or less what you would expect from a ~$10 bottle, nothing special but perfectly fine with the meal. Overall, Wine Wednesday continues to be a great option for a night out, and I look forward to coming back.
Pizza is INSANE, super nice staff, place is popping at 9 on a Sunday night so glad I was able to get a table, definitely a top tier neighborhood staple 10/10 recommend
We ordered takeout and tried their Magic Mushroom Pizza, Patataccia Pizza, and Parma E Burrata Plate. Parma E Burrata Plate came with Prosciutto di parma, burrata, arugula, candied pear, cherry tomato, and aged balsamic. The aged balsamic tasted amazing, sweet and tangy, but not overpowering. It paired well with all the ingredients. The Magic Mushroom Pizza was made with an olive oil base, mozzarella, tomato sauce, crimini mushrooms, black pepper, truffle oil, and prosciutto. It was really delicious. Even with the truffle oil and prosciutto, the flavor was not overwhelming and stayed nicely balanced. The Patataccia Pizza came with Olive oil base, mozzarella, potatoes, scallions, garlic, mild calabrese peppers, and ricotta. One thing I liked was the sliced potatoes, which added an interesting texture. I would highly recommend trying this pizza.
Service 5/5 We have been here multiple times now and the service is ALWAYS outstanding. Gabe is the man! Ambiance 5/5 This is a cozy little restaurant and the vibe is always cool. Subtle music playing in the background and they have 2 tvs that are on with some type of sports playing. Food 5/5 We have tried multiple dishes here and you cannot go wrong with whatever you pick. Vodka pasta is one of our favorites as well as the mushroom pizza. Yummy! I can't find all my pics for this spot but trust me and know you will enjoy this place. They accept walk-ins but it gets busy and the best thing you can do is make reservations. Wednesdays is the social combo day that includes a free bottle of wine!
I’d wanted to check out Pink Onion for a while and it was totally worth it! They’ve got a nice wine selection that goes really well with their food. The pasta tartufo was amazing, super creamy with seasonal truffle and Parmesan. I also tried the Gotham pizza, which seems to be a local favorite, and both were absolutely delicious.
This is my third time at Pink Onion, and I can confidently say that they don’t disappoint. The food is great, and the prices are reasonable considering the generous portions. My only suggestion is that they should switch the plates for clean plates when serving different dishes, as everything is meant to be shared.
Came with a group 3 knowing that we would order the $60 dinner deal and thinking of adding a side order if it didn’t fill us up but the portion size was actually super generous and we left stuffed!! The magic mushroom pizza was delicious with the hint of truffle that you can taste from the oil and the mushrooms and prosciutto went so well together. We all loved the pesto di pistachio pasta- creamy but also light at the same time and it paired really well with the salad! The restaurant itself is pretty small so highly recommend booking a reservation! The dinner deal is definitely worth it and would def come back :))
I decided to try this place out. I didn't want pizza, so I ordered a pasta dish and upgraded to the gnocchi in the truffle cream sauce. I've had a lot of gnocchi, but this is at the top of my list of the best in town. It just melts in your mouth, incredibly. It was absolutely amazing, almost too much truffle. I'm definitely going back to try a pizza next time. Then there was the tiramisu, which is a 2-person dessert. The service only got 3 stars because wait time for them to take my order was a bit long, then I had to flag someone down for more water. No one ever came by to ask how things were or if I wanted anything else. They don't have tap and pay, so bring your cash or card. I do recommend visiting this place.
Pink Onion has to be one of my favorite restaurants in SF. If you’re wanting dinner here, plan in advance and make a reservation as the seating is very limited. The staff members are really helpful and the atmosphere is really nice! I adore the the combo meal which allows you to order an appetizer or salad, a pasta, a pizza, and a dessert for $60 (and throw in a complimentary bottle of wine on Wednesdays). My favorites ares the burrata caprese salad, the tartufo cream pasta, the Nayalita pizza (with caramelized onions, mushrooms, and ricotta), and tiramisu. This is honestly enough food to feed 4 people comfortably. There are many vegetarian and meat options so everyone can find something they’ll enjoy!
A friend recommended pink onion and glad we came here during our most recent SF visit. Food was great and service was excellent. The place is quite small and can fit in a few tables only but the service is quick and food was yummy. We got the veggie buratta - got a lot of nice veggies and fruits (but a little too sweet for me with some of the fruits) but overall the cheese and arugula made up for it. The truffle pasta was interesting. Definitely very flavorful. It was very rich since it’s coated with Parmesan (almost feels like it came from one of the wheels :)) So if you are used to Truffle pastas which are on the lighter side, this may be too much for you. Having said that, though it was very creamy and heavy, it tasted really good. We also got the pizza with potatoes on it and that was one of the best pizza I have ever had,, the pizza base was super soft and fresh and that was very impressive to me. If I am in the area I am happy to be back anytime :) the food was great, service was great and cute little joint for everyone. Parking can be a problem depending on the time you come.
Really loved this little place. Friendly staff, quick service, good food. It’s a little loud for my taste and cramped but that’s the aesthetic nowadays. They have a combo meal special that’s great for two people. It’s an app or salad, a choice of pasta, a small pizza, and choice of dessert. That’s what we got. A lot of their dishes sound great so we asked our waiter for recommendations and ordered what he recommended. It was all great. The pink onion salad was flavorful and fresh. The vodka pasta was rich and deep. It was probably more salty than intended but just slightly oversalted. The hot salami pizza was nicely done. Their crust is great and toppings were high quality. They didn’t bat an eye at a small substitution we asked for. And the tiramisu we had for dessert was really light and airy. Really great experience here. Highly recommended!
I ordered delivery from this pizza place after hearing good things, and it was great. I tried the Margherita, Icetank, and Magic Mushroom pizzas, with the Magic Mushroom being the best. The crust was perfect and the flavors were strong. I can’t wait to visit in person to try more items from their menu.
Pink Onion is a Family owned Restaurant run featuring Italian Pizza and Pasta. It's located right behind Rainbow Grocery. We were shopping there and have see lots of folks here and gave it a try. Rintaro was also full! Pre-pandemic, they were serving sandwiches and known for their foccacia bread. 4.5 stars on Yelp, 4.4 on Google. This is a cute, cool little restaurant with friendly service. Lots of take out orders all the time. They also go to Outside Lands. The food was fine, pizza was better than our recent meal at overhyped Jules, though not as good as Pizzeria Delfina. Prices are reasonable for all the quantity you get. Safety Pluses - Online menu, Delivery services available, online ordering. Food Review: PEAR ENDIVE SALAD ($13) Endives, pears, gorgonzola cheese, candied pecans, balsamic dressing was a good sized balanced fruity salad. 8/10 Penne Gluten Free pasta ($20) White wine, garlic, parsley, chili flakes, fresh mussels hit the mark with ample shellfish and lots of tender pasta. 8.5/10 GOTHAM Pizza ($23 small) : Pepperoni, sausage, ricotta, Mikes hot honey is a pretty big pizze full of ingredients. Not spicy at all, and a big soft and soggy in the middle. 8/10 Combo meal An appetizer or salad, pasta, small pizza, and dessert. ($60) is a great deal. Free bottle of wine on Wednesday. Overall - Very Good Food - Good Decor - Good Service - Very Good Value - Very Good Would we come back - No
I love Pink onion, love their veg/vegan pizzas a lot, but their pasta has so much of oil. I ordered once for home and reheated it, and i could see the oil floating, when i seeve it - it filled more than half of my bowl. which was around 25-30oz. Thats crazy! I would like to request the team to maybe cut down on the oil, but other than that - super amazing! love it.
Had dinner here with a friend from out of town, we arrived later in the evening and the place was full. We stood outside waiting for an outside table to open up. Once we finally sat- the server turned on the heater for us and took our order pretty quickly. The food came out and was delicious. We ordered both pizza and pasta and both were amazing!
Just had an OK experience, the staff isnt organized, e.g 3 different servers or staff just not communicating, checking in every 3-5mins, although we said we were fine. To begin, my cutlery was noticeably dirty, and it took forever to get a replacement, the appetizers came out before the cutlery, and I had to remind them. Also had to ask for small plates to share the appetizers. They also messed up the order because too many people were attending to us and not communicating effectively. We had two pizzas which were decent, and then had the meatballs appetizer and also mussels and pasta, which were just OK. Meatballs were good, but the pasta lacked flavor and taste, mussels were bland. Dont see myself returning here anytime soon, or if at all. I saw lots of TO GO orders for pizza going through the door, but I think they need to do better regarding to dine in patrons.
Went on free-wine-Wednesdays! This place was bustling! We’ve dined in a few times before and the food is always amazing! Place is small so it gets loud when packed. Every Wednesdays they have a combo meal offer of 1 appetiser, 1 pasta, 1 pizza, 1 dessert. We got burrata caprese salad, mussel pasta, Nayalita pizza, Tyson punch out pizza, basque cheesecake. I personally love the burrata caprese (their pesto, balsamic and olive oil makes a saucey combo), Nayalita pizza (white base with caramelised onions, how to say no?) and basque cheesecake (dense and fluffy at the same time)!! Even though we dined out for this review, the service was amazing every other time we dined in. Parking is a nightmare so uber/lyft.
My friends and I ordered the group special ($55) which came with a small pizza, appetizer(/or salad), pasta, and dessert. There was no dine in available so we ordered pick-up. The pizza was really good in that it stood out from a typical pizza… more variety of ingredients and more quality ingredients… yet wasn’t too memorable. The pasta was overly oily and felt greasy… but, the burrata appetizer and cheesecake dessert were very pleasing to all of us. The texture of the cheesecake in particular was light and fluffy - it was definitely the highlight! Overall, great food and variety, but for being as expensive as it is I would expect something better… especially when it comes to the actual main dishes. Would consider going again, but likely better options for similar pricing in the area.
The space was rather small, not an issue at all, wasn't too busy, and they seated a walk-in of 4 very quickly (under 10 minutes, no reservation). Combo meal 60$, seems like a good deal but depending on what you get you're not saving much but getting a ton of food, was split between 2 and still took some food home. Parma e burrata plate was fine but had a lot going on, didn't pair well with the pizza and was pretty sweet, but a ton of fruit, so maybe healthy? Rigatoni vodka, good flavour, could have had more spice. Pasta Tartufo was delicious, such a good pasta. Side meatball was a ball of meatloaf. Do with that as you please The Guido pizza was good with a hearty portion of arugula on top, necessary nutrients achieved! The tiramisa tasted like any other tiramisu and i could easily eat a pound of it. Friendly staff but sometimes I asked direct questions, and they would explain the whole menu, I hate being treated like I can't read. Paid $40 each after tax for 1 combo plate, an extra pasta and appetizer, and 1 bottle of wine. Cute space, but the food felt basic and SF priced.
Maybe the pizza is what makes the reviews. The inside is cute but we ended up outside, despite the heater right next to us it was very cold. We were also SURROUNDED by people waiting for their doordash orders and to be seated, it totally ruined and little ambiance the outdoor seating had. Service was EXTREMELY slow, we had to ask for the appetizer bread (which was actually good), and they didn't check on us once... not even to refill water. We had to call them over to take our order. Meatballs and caesar were alright, nothing to come back for. Sauce for the meatballs was bland, not sure it had seasoning. Pasta was terrible. I got the bolognese and it was like soup and again was bland. The truffle pasta was better but way too much truffle, it was overpowering.
I ordered a pizza 14 Dec 2025 at 6:35pm to arrive pick it up around 6:50pm to find out that they didn’t even put the order in and it was not busy and not too many customers. This review to address the rudeness of the lady in front with curly hair and two piercings mouth/noise that not even apologised for the mistake and took my request to cancel the order politely if the chef didn’t started it yet since i was on 30mins lunch break from work and cant wait she gave attitude and let her colleague handle it as usual who’s the guy with beanie and red sweater who’s always nice and professional every time i order from this place he accepted my request to cancellation and got my money back. This restaurant either has to coach that rude lady or get someone else who’s good at hospitality and customer service.
