Cute little greasy spoon off the beaten path. It seemed family run and a staple in the community. We were just passing through and wanted some diner food so this was perfect. Everyone working there was incredibly nice and accomadating.

I cannot rave enough about this place! I just ordered it for the off Grubhub and I was not disappointed! The food was hot and AMAZING. People were not kidding when they say they have some of the best corned beef hash. It has nice chunks of corned beef! I’m not a huge syrup person, but they did forget my syrup with my pancakes. No biggie thought cause everything else was fabulous. Highly recommend. Screw what everyone else says and go and try it for yourself! You won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the cheerful employees. If I lived in Albany I would make this my daily breakfast spot. The eggs, bacon, home fries were perfectly cooked. The home fries were perfectly seasoned (no Ketchup was needed). Thank you for making our last breakfast in Albany enjoyable and delicious.

Omg! I ordered 2 different dishes (French toast and the combo omelette) because I was very hungry and couldn't decide. Both were absolutely delicious especially the French toast. The French toast was lightly buttered, fully cooked and fluffy on the inside (because of their thoughtful choice of bread) and a little crispy on the outside like it's supposed to be. The owner/chef were attentive and hospitable. You can tell that both took pride in their establishment. You can taste it in the food and quick service. I will be a regular customer here. My brother & I just had some great food ...we love to visit local diners and once again we found another local gem 💎 ... I had the spinach & mushroom omelette and my brother had the philly cheese steak with fries ....the food was great and you get big portions for a reasonable price. Betty Boops is well worth a detour from the Albany Medical Cent. Best home fries I've ever had so far (I'm 47yrs old)- crispy. Really good Eggs Benedict, French toast.... no I'm srious, this is really one of the best Diner in the USA, her food is!!

We rolled in 11 deep at midnight on a whim, not realizing how small the place is or that it's a 1 person operation at that hour. Donna rose to the challenge and knocked it out of the park. Everyones meal came out hot and delicious, with generous portions of home cooked deliciousness. We had a great time (apologies to the couple who might have thought they were going to have a quiet meal together) and we'll certainly be back. Such a gem!

I've been here six times. Betty Boop Diner is one of my favorite places when I visit Albany. Good, fresh food, the staff is friendly and professional and welcoming. Good pancakes and omelettes.

Fun kitschy little neighborhood diner. Regulars sitting around watching tv and drinking coffee all day kinda joint. Locally owned been there ten years. The owner took our order and made our food. We had homemade corned beef hash and chicken fried steak. Both orders came out quickly and very good, with great home fries. Wheelchair accessible with a ramp, bathroom a little snug but I made it work. Service Dog friendly.

Quaint and cute with the best wait staff ever! Visited at 7;30 am on a Saturday and owner(?) Had on the cutest dress!! Waitress is amazing and attentive and super pretty🥰... Full coffee, excellent omelettes and delicious pancakes with fresh blueberries on the side for a picky 8 y/o. 10/10 recommend!!

Charming old school diner with breakfast, lunch and dinner standards. The prices are great and the portions large. The hostess/server was attentive and kind. Wonderful "go to" for comfort food. The neighborhood is easy to navigate and quiet for this little out of the way place. Oh and good coffee!

I've heard the food here is very good I had just passed by and looked inside the interior of this restaurant it is so adorable they've got Betty boop memorabilia all over the place is really really nice so nice eating area I don't know if they serve in the winter but they sure do serve from Spring until fall. but I hear the food is very quite good but it can be a little pricey most say but I don't think so I looked at the priceless and it's very reasonable.

Betty Boop's is a hoot! I think it was Betty herself who waited on us, and even cooked our breakfast this morning! This place has the vibe of a small town diner, while being tucked in the middle of Albany's South End urban neighborhood. Food is basic diner fare but house made with love. Was just introduced to my first experienced at this diner by my brother on Wednesday morn (4/18\18). I must say in all honestly how very very impressed I was with the apparent cleanliness of the place as well as all the following: pleasant/ friendly atmosphere, quality and quantity of the food, price, attentive/expedient service...and the food was amazingly delicious! I had their steak, eggs sunny-side, cornbread hash, toast, cheese grits and coffee! All of which were well prepared! I was definitely impressed with how well the chef prepared my steak (per my precise order) with such great timing! Evetything was served hot! As for the location, my brother and I truly thought it was quite interesting and cozy. It was morning hr, so yes it was peacefully quiet clear morning. The staff were such very pleasant/ well-mannered ppl. Being the fact that my brother and I having once lived in the area 50 yes previously...it was an extra enjoyable experience for us to have the opportunity to sit there and reminiscence our childhood and share as much with the owner/staff. And with the character "Betty Boop" coincidently having been my brother and I childhood fascination...that really made for some good morn laughs! Lol . Yes...I really enjoyed my breakfast that morn. And do plan to become as regular customer as possible in the near future!👍😀

Went here today, for my birthday breakfast, and was stunned by how good it was. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet. The portions were big for a small price, but a little bit too big. Some very fatty pieces of ham, but a very yummy omelet. Nice environment! Very homemade flavor, which is a great thing for a diner to have. My waitress was very kind, and since she over heard it was my birthday she gave my brother and I a free slice of cake :) Very good food, and I would definitely recommend to stop by at Betty Boop diner while you're in Albany :)

Came to Albany to bring my father-in-law to the VA hospital from an hour away. Lo and behold the VA cancelled his appt. I did a Google search to find a diner. Thought the neighborhood was iffy, but we were hungry so we proceeded to try it out. We were greeted immediately upon entering. Service was quick, with a genuine smile. Although I've been in the industry 30 years, I never tell the wait staff because I want true, genuine service. Well, she didn't disappoint. Considering we had to get back home a little over an hour away, I am pleased to say we were in & out in under 40 minutes. I'm sorry I didn't ask my server's name so I could give her a little recognition here. From one server/manager to another, you could tell it wasn't her first Rodeo. Don't let the neighborhood fool you. This place is definitely Albany's "DIAMOND in the RUFF".

Speaking of the owner she was very friendly and so was also the wait staff (5 stars to them) On another note - it would be a lovely touch if the tablecloth's were cleaned. Dont think they have ever been washed (bit of an off putting smell to them) which is surprising because the bathrooms were cleaner then said tablecloths. Will be back for sure (hoping my review is taken as constructive feedback)

This place is pretty bizarre. If you're looking for a very specific thing and that being a Betty Boop Diner I think it wins by default but in pretty much all other cases it falls short. The food was mediocre and the waitress brought our food out 15 minutes apart for a table of two. We got very similar meals (pancakes and french toast)and I really don't understand how they timed it so wrong. Everyone there was friendly and the food was pretty inexpensive. I wouldn't recommend this if your primary goal isn't novelty.

It's hard for me to know how to rate this experience because based on other reviews I believe this diner could have been a totally different experience on another day. We spent an hour and a half here for lunch, and only had food for the last 15 minutes of that time. They were extremely short staffed and only had one waitress with a lot of customers so I know she was doing her best and she did well at managing everything. I believe there was only one cook and one person to clear tables so I can't blame them for the slow service and I'm thankful we had lots of time to relax and enjoy the experience anyway. The food wasn't amazing and the fries were cold but it was decent and a good serving size. They don't accept credit cards but do accept Venmo, Cashapp and cash so there are good options for paying and the prices are extremely affordable, we payed $50 with tip for 4 people.

Ordered French Toast And Bacon for take out. French toast on a thick slice of bread no flavor. Bacon was broken up I believe I had 1 1/2 pieces of bacon. Did not get any napkins or utensils for my tale out. Compared to the other diners in Albany. I would not waste my time at Betty Hoop. Oh and they don't take Visa or MasterCard nor do they have a atm.

Reviewed this previously. I pass this location several times every 24 hours. I never see any Customers. Tables always empty. Even with weekend summer 24 hour. Hard to find parking. Not a safe neighborhood. A nice idea not working. Subpar.

Ww tried it, it was ok. Won't be back. Our group had mixed reviews. We went for lunch, Apparently this place is better know for breakfast. Half of us were satisfied with our food and the other half weren't. Their (1) steak and cheese & (2) chicken Philly, lacked flavor. We ordered the steak and cheese with "No peppers and onions", the waitress took it back and could be seen plucking off the onions and brought it back with green peppers still on it. We reminded her no onions and no peppers. She took it back and was again seen pluck peppers off and brought it back and told the guy eating it to just pluck the peppers off if he sees one. There were plenty. Not much of a concern for allergies I guess. Cute decor. The location isn't too bad, but is like 2 blocks from complete ghetto.

I can only speak for the meal I had "Philly Cheese Steak", which consist of shredded cheddar cheese (maybe from a bag), and diced chunks of steak. The sauce used on the steak lacked flavor, and the sandwich was server on roll (I was not given a bread option). It was a meal I wish I never have to eat again. On the positive the hospitality was good.

I order from the diner at least twice a week for breakfast sandwiches. Normally it's good. I order a bacon egg and cheese and it comes with homefries which is great but today I ordered a bec and it was horrible. Bread was not toasted rhe bacon was stringy. And I ordered my girlfriend a sausage egg and cheese and got a omelet of some sort. Homefries were cold and hard. Just because it's a Togo order doesn't mean the quality has to suffer. I will take this down if they make this right.

Honestly was really excited to support a small business/diner but was unpleasantly surprised. We set in the back corner where the hot sauce looked…. Old and chunky - how you get hot sauce to go bad? Idk. The food was also mid - not a lot of taste/flavor. The ham smelled weird. While the waitresses were sweet and kind, their habit of talking on the phone with their friends and the things they said was mildly inappropriate given it was deadly quiet and we can hear the whole convo. I will never come back again but i do hope they improve their services. Not sure how they have 4 stars..

The idea is good, execution poor. Cleanliness poor. Table cloths don't work as they aren't cleaned. Menus are a bio hazard. Fix this stuff and it can work.

Today I went in with my partner, and we ordered the two Betty Boop special omelettes (Italian and combo omelets) assuming they would be relatively popular, considering it has their business name in the title of the entree. I hate to say this because the people were so nice and the decor was so adorable. I don’t like to write negative reviews for small businesses, but the food is definitely slacking and could use more attention; definitely room for improvement if these few things were fixed. Most emphasis on the freshness of the food. The lemon in my water was rotten, my mozzarella in my omelette tasted spoiled, and the breakfast potatoes had a vinegar taste (likely due to being old). All of these things are concerning, but most importantly people can get really sick from spoiled meat as the bacon had an old meat taste and my ham tasted sweet similar to a doughnut, (probably due to the breakdown of amino acids, which can produce a sweet taste if spoiled). The sausage and toast were amazing. Adding on, please continue to shoot high and pay attention to details in order to achieve the best, as this place has a lot of potential. For starters, the pancakes they are quite thick. Being a breakfast place having good pancakes is crucial. I found that letting the batter sit for 5 to 10 minutes makes them light and fluffy, using milk instead of water, toss some vanilla extract and cinnamon and people will talk about your pancakes for days. Caramelize the blueberries before you put them in the batter, will make a big difference. Ultimately, you should reinvest your money back into the business to attract more customers. Paying attention to details like fresh produce, and fresh food can flourish your business. The reason why I feel the need to say this is because this place truly is adorable and has a lot of potential considering it is Betty Boop. They’ve paid such great detail to interior design. It is hard to find places that have such good customer service and that is a very strong best selling point.

I don't know how they cook their bacon but it's always shriveled up curled up very thin. The toast I don't know how they toasted bread but it's not likely Brown toasted it's still white but hard as if they gave your day old bread. I always order over medium eggs any time I go there definitely always having one of my yolks broken. Home fries look like they will overcooked overall bad experience the four times I went there was not satisfied. Only went because it was close to my lady's house. Will not be going there at all anymore. The best thing the place got going for itself is all the Betty Boop figurines

It was horrible. I ordered eggs over medium they were runny. The bacon was deep fried and void of any flavor at all. It took forever for them to bring toast to our table and finally as a final insult there was some foreign object in the bottom of my coffee cup. I almost threw up after I pulled the stringy substance out of my mouth. NEVER AGAIN.

I ordered omelet with spinach and Swiss came out with no cheese. Waiter had no clue of what was on our plates. He had to ask someone else. Ordered wheat toast with my food no toast ever arrived. I'm very disappointed. I come here all the time and today I brought out of town family here and this place let me down completely. Wow!!

I ordered a Reuben and the meat had little flavor at all. I was so disappointed. My boyfriend ordered the Country Fried steak and literally said the best part of his meal was his toast. Most disgusting place to eat on planet earth. Flies, ants, cobwebs, no mask or gloves, waitress was about 70 years old with her hair shedding on the food, food quality was the lowest of the lowest, the food was bland and old like it’s been refrigerated for months, & I wouldn’t put it past them cause it was no other customers in there, even the toast tasted funny & that was the only thing that tasted decent on the plate. Another older lady was cooking & I see why the food tasted the way it was. Please don’t get carried away by the cheap menu, cause trust me, you’ll get what You pay for.

Came in with a big party celebrating an elder family members birthday with many generations of family and children. They served us cooked ants in the pancakes to the kids. It was disgusting we had to leave immediately after canceling all the other orders. Every time I've gone there the service and food was subpar but I will never go back again after that. Too bad too because the owner is good person.

The order came early which is good but my wife didn't get exactly what she ordered, she ordered the full French toast with eggs. It was supposed to come with the meat - bacon, sausage and ham in addition with the eggs. She received no meat with the order. I ordered 2 bacon eggs and cheese sandwiches,both arrived with no cheese. Every time we order, the food arrives with something missing. We order via grubhub.

dont live to far from this diner i usually order breakfasts but today i decided to order the lunch special instead of breakfast due to my last experience wich was wrong and disgusting and highly disappointing so todays lunch promotion was a meatball sub for five dollars now " Betty Boops Diner " promotes comfort food so you would expect their meat ball sub to be good i modified my order and asked for two cheeses provolone and cheddar on both of my subs it comes with onions so i asked for onions on one of my subs with French fries on the side i called and placed my order and i waa rudely rushed off the phone they told me 10 minutes my food would be ready and it took 25 so i arrived at the restaurant and waited another 10 minutes and realized my food was just sitting in the back while they served the customers who were dining in to eat as i stool at the register waiting finally i was assisted i asked for ketchup and salt n pepper packets and added two can sodas to the order before they told me my total was 13.00 dollars even with the two subs and my french fries with the two can sodas my total was now 18.90 i gave the cashire a 20.00 dollar bill and she walked away i waited for my change my one dollar and ten cents for 5 minutes expecting the cashire to give me my money back and she comes back and says the total was 18.90 as if it was 20.00 dollars even or if she deserved a tip so i asked for my change and she walked away so i just give her the 1.10 $ and leave when i get into my house my meal is all wrong instead of two cheeses i have 1 on both my subs white american and cheddar no onion at all and the sub bread was soggy as if its been sitting so i call back its the same rude lady who picked up the phone the first time so i explained it was wrong and she insisted it was correct i asked for a refund and she told me no come back to the restaurant and they would remake it but i was so dissatisfied all i wanted was my money back i asked to speak to management. And was told she was busy and dont no what to tell me i advise all to just go to south pearl diner instead of bettys because no one should be treated how i was today

Food came out quick, but it's dirty. The condiments on the table were filthy, glass had dirt on the rim that fell into my drink. Didn't ask my daughter how she wanted her eggs, they were undercooked either way. Since she couldn't eat her sandwich, I offered my French toast but she couldn't pour the syrup from the dispenser as it was stuck closed and she bent the spout trying to open it. At that point we left, couldn't even eat our food. Decor is cute but building is very dated and needs to be cleaned.

I hate to leave this local spot a negative review but feel I should let others know. I ordered the french toast and bacon- both of which tasted off. The french toast had a sour taste and it was inedible. It also seemed undercooked in the middle. It seemed like the batter had gone bad? Not sure if they were supposed to taste sour or if it had actually gone bad. Worst french toast ive ever had in my life. The whole restaurant also smelled like oil. Our servers were friendly but that was the only plus. The service was not even that good as no one came to check and ask how our food was even though we were the only people in the restaurant (another couple came in right before we left).

The whole restaurant needs to be cleaned. There were mouse turds on the syrup, the table cloth was dirty. My sister’s napkin that was wrapped around the cutlery had I think boogers on it. My other friend ordered a burger and fries and didn’t get his fries (but I ended up giving him mine because they tasted like old oil) when I asked for mustard it was frozen solid and had a weird consistency since it had been in a freezer I believe. The burger tasted freezer burnt and it smells like cigarette smoke inside the dining area.

One of the worst breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. The steak was not even 2 ounces for steak, egg and cheese sandwich and it was the driest toughest piece of jerky ever. So bland and seemed like they don’t care.

Betty Boop Diner is normally our to go breakfast spot, but not anymore. They always forget things, and the home fries were burnt BURNT! So unprofessional. I am never ordering from here again. They where putting the burnt side down like they where covering it up. One side was not cooked at all, and the other side was burnt. Very unprofessional. If you want to eat a good breakfast. Please order from somewhere else.
