Delicious food and a great, varied menu. Sweets are tasty as well. We’ve ordered custom cakes from here and they’re darn good, too. Overall a great, clean vibe.
This place is adorable, and the employees are incredibly nice. Someone from Massachusetts approves, and we are very thankful that these New Yorkers were nice despite our Red Sox gear. Great food too- perfectly seasoned and it came out super fast. P.S. Go Sox!
Had a delicious breakfast burrito and cinnamon roll the other day. The burrito was a very satisfying vegetarian option, good portion size, super fresh and hot. The cafe was quiet, bright, and cozy on a weekday morning.
Every time I go here I'm divided between salad or sandwich...Always end up getting salad and they taste absolutely fresh and delicious. Never been disappointed. Salad portions are huge so can be easily shared. Their sandwiches however are decent size and are meant for one person. Nevertheless everything is delicious here. Great find.
Like a better Panera, their soups, sandwiches and pastries are a must-try in the Albany area. Their cakes are also phenomenal.
We used Bountiful Bread’s catering service for a holiday party. This was quite possibly the easiest catering order I’ve ever placed. Amanda (General Manager) was incredibly helpful making sure our order was just right. Everyone at the party LOVED the food, especially the baked goods! Delivery was prompt, they set everything up for us and provided all plates/napkins/utensils. Just a wonderful, easy experience with high quality food & baked goods. We highly recommend Bountiful Bread for all your catering needs!! Thank you Bountiful Bread for making our holiday party an easy & enjoyable experience during a crazy time of the year.
My first time there and I was impressed with the menu. My daughter's mother-in-law took me there for lunch. We ordered and even though it was very busy we didn't have to wait for our order.😊
Tomato pesto is always satisfying. The rewards program is effective.
OMG. The best blueberry muffins I have ever had!! Everything looks so good. Muffin tops were awesome too. I have had their ham, brie and pear sandwich also. Ham was excellent. Turkey sandwich with stuffing with cranberry may was also excellent. Found this place by accident and so glad I did. The staff was very friendly too.
Excellent place to eat in highly recommend the classic turkey sandwich so good!
When we come to Albany to shop we always plan on having lunch (or breakfast or dinner) at Bountiful Bread. And we have for years! Wonderful choice of salads, sandwiches, and various soups. And delicious layer cakes, cup cakes, etc., too, for dessert. The Plaza around them has a lot of great shops. Worth the visit!
I've ordered from here several times, most often the Black and Bleu sandwich which I find very flavorful! Excellent for dine-in or takeout.
I ordered catering for an office in the area. When I called to order the sandwich platter they said they didn’t have gluten free bread but would see what they could do. Upon picking up the order they had separately packaged an entire gluten free meal including a lettuce wrap sandwich AND gluten free dessert! All of the food was great, and them going above and beyond for a dietary restriction is what prompted me to write this review! Will be coming back!
I had the most amazing experience here at lunch this past Friday! I have stopped here before for pastries and bread, but never a meal. I ordered the 1/2 soup and 1/2 sandwich meal and selected chicken butternut soup and the panzanella sandwich (mozzarella cheese, tomato, pesto). Soup was great, flavorful with lots of veggies and chicken. Sandwich was HUGE for just a half, I couldn't quite finish it all. The gentleman who waited on me was even kind enough to add in a breadstick when I asked for bread to dip in the soup. Not pictured are the brookies I brought home for dessert- the hubby and I warmed them up and they were delicious! Great food at a reasonable price, warm and friendly service, and a pleasant place for lunch. Also saw an employee cleaning tables after use - I love that!
We have only picked up food to go but every meal has been outstanding! Ordering on line is easy and the food is always ready when promised. All ingredients are so fresh and they have a wide variety of options. Highly recommend this place!
The make your own sandwich is the best, I get mozzarella, spinach, mushrooms, tomato and basil pesto on marble rye and it was perfect. They make their own mozzarella and it's scrumptious! My husband got the Sesame salmon bowl, he loves it every time, that's his go to. The staff member was courteous, they were busy and it was for pickup so I'll remember to order online next time. Food came in about 10-12 minutes and was worth every minute The food came in a timely manner and we loved it. Thanks for a delicious meal.
Food is always great. It’s like a real food version of Panera. Soups, sandwiches, wraps, all sorts of good. They are happy to customize or work with dietary restrictions. Staff behind the prep counter deserves gold stars for being so consistently pleasant to all the customers, even when something isn’t perfect.
Multiple gluten free bakery options. Kind, friendly service and very affordable for a quick breakfast treat. My kids have tried the danish and cinnamon rolls. Big hit! Belle was great!
Bountiful Bread is a nice soup and sandwich shop. They serve soup, sandwiches and pastries. Service was good, but they were backed up at the service counter. This was Saturday afternoon though. Overall the experience was good. I met with a group of friends here, we were able to sit together, talk, and were not bothered. A great experience and the food was good.
In addition to being a great spot for lunch and bakery treats, Bountiful Bread also donates their throw-away most evenings to different community food banks. They're excellent and they give back to the community. 10/10
I miss this place sooo much I’m ready to see if they can mail me some tomatoe pesto soup or something!! Literally everything was always good, so sad this is their only location. And the desserts and muffins !! Perfection, and there is no other establishment like it. Oh and how can I forget the turkey stuffing and cranberry sandwich!
While things may sometimes be a bit pricier here than some other bakeries, they absolutely make up for in quality of their bakes. All of their baked goods (cookies, cupcakes, muffins, etc.) are absolutely delicious and always stand out in my mind. The best thing about bountiful bread is the service, particularly from the front of house/cashiers. Always greeted with a smile and a helpful word, the two women who I see regularly on the weekends are absolutely a highlight. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys tasty baked goods, and a warm welcoming environment.
I recently went here for the first time on 6/16/2019, a good friend of mine works here and he made my daughters birthday cake and omg, absolutely amazing!! He does awesome work regardless but I honestly did not want to cut the cake , I am going to back for my sons birthday. I highly recommend going if you need a good birthday cake
I had a delicious tuna wrap from Bountiful Bread for dinner yesterday. The counter staff greeted me and took my order. My takeout was ready within five minutes. The pasta salad was flavorful. Oil based with Italian seasoning. They have a large, diverse menu.
Turkey Apple grilled cheese special was so good! Bread was fresh and soup was delicious!
Bountiful at Frog Alley Catering brought more than just food—they brought flavor, warmth, and rave reviews from our guests! Nick was so easy to work with—friendly, flexible, and always responsive. We had very specific food preferences and they executed them perfectly. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and seriously delicious. I can’t count how many people told us, “This is the BEST food I’ve ever had at a wedding,” and we even caught some sneaking back for seconds! This isn’t your typical wedding catering—it’s elevated, thoughtful, and absolutely mouthwatering. Huge shoutout to Nick and the team for making our meal a highlight of the day.
It's closed, looks like permanently!!!!... I was so looking forward to grabbing a few loaves of bread!!.. great place, I wish it was still open!. I don't make it to Albany or Schenectady often
The salads are the biggest around so for 10$ which seems a tad high the value is actually cheaper than a wendys salad. Quality and flavor is as good as you can find. Housemade scratch dressings! Divine. Pro tip the takeout version is smaller simply because the container isnt as big get it in house and wrap the second half and get 2 for one value
The tomato soup is absolutely incredible. My friends and I drove 2.5 hours each way this weekend to get the amazing soup we remember from our days working in Albany. It was just as delicious as I remembered.
I've never had a sub-par sandwich or salad from Bountiful Bread. Their food is always consistently seriously delicious, and the staff are friendly and helpful. You won't go wrong going out to eat here on a lunch date or for any other occasion! Nice bright eating area too, with lots of tables. A+++++
Of all the dining establishments in the area, Bountiful Bread is my favorite. I’ve been a patron for decades, who generally only buys soup, bread, and desserts. More than the food, though I love the staff because they make me feel special and welcomed. Cade even knows me by name and caters to me very well when I’m there. Continued success and best wishes!
The staff are very friendly. The pastry and bread is very good. The soups also when a kind i like. Have never done a set down meal but I am sure it is good . During the pandemic I would come over to support the business by buying what I could. Sometimes I was the only car in the parking lot. Always wore a mask and did the recommended protocol . BTW. The cheese rolls are so good. Glad when you get them with the soup.
Bountiful Bread consistently exceeds my expectations. Whether it is freshly made country wheat bread that I need sliced, or a grilled taste of Thanksgiving with thier Turkey and Stuffing sandwich, they have not disappointed. I highly recommend the ham and brie sandwich, it is accompanied by a cranberry mayo that makes this sandwich literally (in my opinion) on of the best in the capital area. Go in for a bite, grab some lunch and a bowl of soup. You won't be disappointed!!!
We had two bowls one Hawaiian and a black and Bleu sandwich. All were very good ....young lady at checkout was super nice and friendly!
This place was a gem nestled in the backyard”…How could I forget it’s here in Albany! The variety of baked goods and everything looked so fresh and tasty! The place is clean, calm, and beautiful too! The baked goods are delicious and moist! Reasonable prices as well. Will be back!
I ordered a delicious loaf of bread. But the best part of my visit was that, when I accidentally left my pocketbook on the handle of the bathroom, someone returned it to the cashier with everything in tact -- my wallet, cash, phone, and car keys! May God eternally bless the person who returned my bag because they truly blessed me. I have previously returned lost items, and I will definitely continue to do so, with passion! P.s. Be careful hooking your items onto doors/cubbies at public places. Not everyone is as honest.
The food is always delicious! Made fresh every day, including all of their dressings, soups, and fun recipes! Recently, I had a mixup with an order which they immediately rectified and refund my purchase! A definite must in the Albany area!
I love bountiful bread. Starting with the great way the front end is organized for ordering. The lady serving us was super nice and funny. The food uniformly delicious.
The food is excellent, and the staff has always been very friendly, quick, and conversational. I have been there many times over the last few years, and it is consistently good. Also a great local option for business catering. I recently had an office meeting lunch catered with Bountiful Bread(also did last year), and they did an absolutely amazing job. Doug(Catering Manager) goes above and beyond for customers, and is so easy to work with. I would recommend considering them for everyday breakfast/lunch options as well as catering. The hot menu catered items (chicken parm, ziti) were excellent. Thank you Bountiful Bread and team!
I've been getting the soups here for lunch for years and they have been consistently delicious. Great variety too. I have also enjoyed the toasted panzanella sandwich on occasion. Highly recommend if you're a healthy soup lover !
My daughter was getting married and we ordered a breakfast platter, seasonal fruit platter, yogurt and bagels. They set us up with plates, bowls, spoons, forks, and knives, napkins and serving utensils We also got butter and cream cheese. I have never had a company like this where I live provided everything I would need or antiseptic what I would need. Bountiful Breads was the easiest place I have ever ordered where the employees were extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend them for anyone in need of catering.
Honestly, it kind of bums me out seeing everyone flock to Uncommon Grounds next door for their puffy, average bagels while this place sits half-empty. So I’ve started coming back here more often. The food's very good—nothing fancy, but solid. Coffee is pretty good. My only real gripe is that sometimes the bread that comes with soup is too hard. Other than that, clean and friendly, no complaints.
Under the weather and need soup so i was able to search this place. The soup and sandwich combo is a good deal. Soup is delicious and the sandwich is great! Tasty and not dry. It has mozarella and tomato makes it delicious. The cashier is friendly. I dd not wait too long for them to make my order. I will surely come back here
I went at the start of the day. Pleasant staff. I enjoyed how they interacted with each other. Felt very positive. Food was delicious, looked smelled and tasted so good! They have GF baked good, but all their delicious bread had gluten. I ate it anyway. No regrets!! I hot the South of the border sandwich, a massive cherry danish(because why not) that I did share and a homemade whoopie pie(not pictured). Those are my weakness. Say whoopie pie and I'm there!
I like the food/ingredients a lot but ... my online orders are often missing 1 or 2 things. $2 Buffalo hummus add-on missing twice in build your own salad, often giving me 1 bread stick when there are multiple in the order, etc ... The bread isn't always as bountiful as advertised.
Their turkey and stuffing sandwich was AMAZING! 5 out of 5 I still think about it and will definitely go back for that! The broccoli cheddar soup on the other hand was very disappointing. Watery, tasteless and the broccoli was barely cooked. It was surprising to me how bad the soup was after the sandwich was so amazing. I would still go back regardless and try more things, just not that soup ever again.
I really just go there for one specific person who makes my salad amazing. Really does portion size and texture of salad to the Max. It’s the biggest reason I go there even for the price. I don’t mind splurging because of the customer service I receive when that specific person makes my salad.
I have been stopping in here for quite a while, normally just to grab a baked good and skedaddle. Last nite was the first time I got a meal and ate in-house. First... they are perpetually under-staffed at the counter. Like, always. Second... the food was well-made and ready quite quickly. I got the Vermont Turkey sammich (a little pricey at 14.50 but it was quite good) and a... wait for it... a $6 cup of soup. CUP, mind you. I think that's ridiculous. My bad for not checking the price before-hand. So, do the math and if you wanna splurge, you'll be happy with the speed and the quality of the food. If you are a bit cost-conscious... skip the soup.
The salads are amazing. However, the portion size for takeout is almost half the size of dine in. Which makes it a horrible value. I would order here way more often if this was not the case.
They have pretty good soup, needs more chicken stock though and the most delicious sandwiches and Salads. They’re absolutely scrumptious. They have been Times in recent days where they have forgotten an item When I went to pick it up and didn’t realize it till I got back to work. Now I make sure that I look in the bag before I turn around and go out the door. Otherwise they’re pretty good. Update on 10/26/26 I ordered a quart of the chicken soup and AJ W salad. Both were very good and tasty and nothing was missing from the order. Order was right on time when I went to pick it up and conveniently bagged. Well Done, bountiful bread!
My husband loves the coffee beans here and their bagels are also incredible. The salad I got here about a year ago wasn’t that great. And the place is OK inside.
First time there, the way to order was very convenient, food was done pretty quick. Had a steak and egg omelet witch was really good, the bread was awesome. only complaint I have is that the plates that they use were very small I didn't feel like I had much room for anything and made every thing feel really tight. I had to put my bread on a napkin on the table. Trying to make it look like you have more food then what you really do not a big deal, if the food is good and you do have good food. Need to get larger plates.
Soup and sandwiches for us. Jamaican jerk soup was bountiful pun intended with chicken beans celery. Very flavorful too. Ham & cheese was nothing really to write home about. Cranberry chicken sandwich was Right amount of condiments and the grilled sandwich tasted amazing. Linzer tart was supposed to be icing for the brunch was kind of soggy. All in all a bit underwhelming…..
EDIT: Although I had the issue described below I was incredibly impressed with the integrity of this business - they made it right. They refunded the cost of my salad, and went the extra mile to send me a gift card so we could both try again. In a day were customer service is virtually non existent, this is everything. Bountiful Bread, I thank you! Got a Cobb salad and for $17 I expect more than just a tiny bowl filled with excess tomato and cucumber. Very disappointed, and I feel ripped off and hungry. This place used to be great and had phenomenal salads, but now not so much. The quality and care is severely lacking.
Dissatisfied for the price of a sandwich. The wax paper stuck to the sandwich and I did not know I was eating it as well. I was charged for a piece of unsceen lettuce and the sandwich fell apart. Most notable, a man dropped several glass plates right by me and some went under my feet (very unsafe and management ignored me). I use to love this place and brought friends with me but will not return. Joanne
The restaurant was very clean and the service was quick and friendly. The pastries were really good too. But I've definitely had better sandwiches at Stewart's. Cheaper too. So order something else and you'll have a good time.
Got the Panzanella. The bread tasted stale, and was so hard that it was inedible. The contents of the sandwich were good so I just ate those. But the bread made sandwich really really bad. Better luck next time.
Arrived right at opening time on a Sunday and a line was waiting at the door. The food order process went very well. No sour cream or salsa was available for my breakfast wrap but it tasted great! Three jam up’s though... One: It took a tad over 40 minutes to get my food which I feel is too long for only being a handful of people ahead of our order. Two: Once we got the order and got it home, we were missing the toast for one of the orders... That seemed to be the item holding up the order too so that really sucked. Three: I called the store and asked for a manager and after waiting a few minutes on hold I was told a manager would call me back to make good on the experience and unfortunately no one called to make it right. That’s not the customer service I was hoping for. I would of given a 4 star but the time it took for the food and then to be missing an item... and was not called about the issue is not a good recipe for 4 stars in my book. The restaurant was very clean and everything well priced and the selection on baked goods is pleasantly large. I highly recommend sharing the Giant Cinnamon Roll with a few cups of coffee. Hope your visit goes a tad smoother than mine. Update: spoke with a manager and she was happy to offer a refund and to take care of my next visit. Very friendly and customer centric approach to making things right.
I was dying for a good bran muffin. Much to my disappointment, it was flavorless and dry. My husband loved the pumpkin muffin. I purchased a cranberry loaf very good
I’m a frequent customer of bountiful bread. This is the second time I’ve picked up an order and returned to work to have things missing. Today I was given no salad dressing for my order which ultimately makes my meal inedible until I can get home and get some. And the chicken and rice soup I ordered today had no rice and was basically just meat. The attention to detail has really gone down which is unfortunate since I enjoy the soup and salad combo. I called to notify an employee today of this error and she said to me “I’ll notify our manager thanks” and hung up. Not impressed at all, especially for a $20 lunch combo.
This was a nice place to stop off for lunch. We took home some rolls that were delicious and we stayed for lunch as well. The sandwich was alright but I think it just wasn't to my taste. The pasta salad was really good and also the tomato pesto soup. I'll definitely come back and try another order!
I've been here a couple of times as I work close by. Usually the food is good but today I ordered a BLT with avocado. It came with TWO pieces of folded up bacon, brown lettuce and some weak tomatoes. I payed 13$ for this? Jeez. Staff is always super nice but whoever made my sandwich must have hated me cause this was pretty awful. I don't know how food can leave the kitchen this way. They weren't really busy so that's not a good excuse. Soup was good so I guess that's a plus. Probably won't be back because to be honest this place is awfully pricey for you to get a meal this way. Side note I'm not the type of guy to burst into the store and complain I just don't go back. Good luck
Two stars because the service and environment were pleasant. The ingredients and quality just don't add up for the price. The food had absolutely no flavor. I added chicken to my salad for an additional price and received two small sliced strips of chicken which were inedible (I first thought they were frozen and then just realized it was so tough it couldn't be cut or chewed). Save yourself the disappointment of thinking you're getting a better product and just go to Panera.
Not the place for a fast lunch. The menu is great but the execution is poor. Grilled sandwiches are toasted on the outside but cold on the inside - grilled cheese without melting or even warming the cheese? The baked goods are yummy and the salads are huge multi-meal - if you don't mind huge hunks of lettuce
Been coming to Bountiful Bread for years, and in recent months the quality has gone down. The food is still great, but the attention to detail and service is not. The last three times I’ve come, they’ve messed up our orders — forgotten ingredients we paid for on our salads, given us the wrong dressing, put cheese on sandwiches when we ordered without, and generally been a bit dismissive at the ordering counter. Sharing this because I know the owners have taken great care with their store, and we’ll likely go elsewhere for lunch next time, just because our orders never come through correctly!
My friend and I shared the apple/brie on bread with caramelized onions. The bread was delicious. We expected the apple to be room temp and it was cold, the brie and carmelized onions were ice cold. The brie was the consistency of thick white flavorless liquid. As though it came out of a squirt bottle. We expected a delicious bubbly warm snack and what we received was not that. Not that at all.
Went to Bountiful bread today for a sandwich. There were two people in front of me. We were waiting for our orders when two of workers started to have an argument. They both stopped working and just kept arguing. One of workers started slamming the toasters the other one just wouldn’t shut up and just do his job. The person in front of me finally got her order and is was missing her sandwich. I got mine and was supposed to be grilled and it wasn’t. I just handed the box. No bag no apology. It was the most unprofessional thing I have witnessed in a long time. Come to find out one of the persons was the manager. I think you need a manager. I have been in food service for almost 50 years. The two of them would have been gone on the spot. There was a young girl through all this that just tried to keep up and kept doing her job. She should be rewarded for doing her job throughout the arguing.
Was not satisfied with the brie, apple with bacon sandwich. It was cold not warm and not enough beacon. I asked and was given more. It was not tasty at all. Your prices are too high for me to write a bad post. Also there was a employee picking his face around the food. Just nasty!
I no longer love this place. I went back today and they changed my beloved Cobb salad into a smaller bowl with less ingredients. I had a bowl at home I would put them in and it would fill it previously. Now that same bowl is half full with the portion I got today. The Food, the lettuce was brown tinged or light green, the blue cheese dressing has no tang or bite, the bacon was good, I only got half an egg and the chicken was tough. There is obviously less of everything in the salad the ingredients were less than top quality except for cost. It is now $17 inc tax instead of $15 it used to cost me. So not only is there is there less food of lower quality, it is more expensive. The bakery also had a ton of mislabeled items its super hard to tell what is what and there are no prices on bakery items so who knows until you have to pay. The staff is nice and friendly. I will not be back or eat here anymore unless someone wants to go and it's a social thing. It just does not have the same top quality fresh ingredients in the same quantity for the money they used to have. If you are going to charge me more and give me less at least maintain a standard of excellence. I used to eat there two or three times a month for over five years. Love this place and all their fresh choices and home made feel. I have a single complaint. When I get the cob salad it needs to be chopped up better into smaller pieces. Each piece should be bite sized. I should not have to cut up huge chunks of turkey, cucumber, lettuce, onion and half a boiled egg. Thanks for years of great food.
Quality / portions of their food has gone down drastically - save yourself the trouble and go across the treat to Simone's. 2x the food for $5-8 less than Bountiful. I used to come here all the time, but now it's not really worth it.
Leaves a lot to be desired. You feel like it’s going to be so good… but it’s overly priced nonsense. The place is dirty and the staff are more concerned with the latest gossip than helping customers. The entire dining room was filthy, food all over the tables and floor. Got two sandwhiches and 2 cookies… was $50 and all of it was subpar. Basically flavorless eggs sandwhich with ONE eggs…. There was nothing to the sandwich. All the coffee was empty and a staff member had to be asked a few times by two different guests to please refill them. This is my 3rd time trying bountiful bread and needless to say, won’t be back. Not worth the money, the wait or the quality.
The order taker sets the tone, the girl taking our order was curt, uninterested. Now the food is great indeed but the start of our experience was spoiled by the 1 girl who seemed troubled by us ordering or asking any questions. If we want to eat out then we are hoping for a enjoyable experience. If you don't like people do t take a job where you have to deal with people. I will think twice before visiting this place. Disappointed. On top she took our order wrong I stead of 1/2 & 1/2 she took down whole sandwich and 1/2 salad. How incompetent can some be !!!!
Used to come here all the time. Haven’t been in a few years and was in the area so figured why not! I got cup of tomato pesto soup and classic club. The soup is fine but the club has bacon bits on it instead of actual bacon. I did hear one of the workers they ran out of bacon but they could have let me know and asked if bacon bits would be okay. Most of the bacon bits are fatty. I went to look under the bread for the turkey because I didn’t think there was any on it and there is barely two pieces of Turkey on the sandwhich. Pretty disappointed. Also the young woman working was arguing fairly loud with a male working. He cursed a few times at her and talked down to her, as she was talking back to me. It all just didn’t seem professional or good customer service. I’m not one to write these kind of reviews but I was disappointed as I used to love this place.
Came because of the great reviews. The cashier was warm and attentive, and the rest of the staff were very friendly too. Unfortunately, the salmon bowl was bland with an overly sweet sauce, and the gluten-free dessert was also too sugary. Flies on the pastries didn’t help. A mixed experience—I’d probably skip it next time, but it was worth a try.
Sadly the sandwich I get every time I come has changed. The bread changes. Smaller and stale. Not like their old baguettes that were large and soft. Three slices of tomato and some mozzarella for $15. I paid $2 for prosciutto which they didn’t add which was a bummer. I did to go so I didn’t notice until I got to my office. Will not return. Quality went WAY down
I've been going to Bountiful Bread for years and always loved it! But have been disappointed in the past few months. Prices have gone up but quality has gone down. Purchased a Caesar salad with chicken (see photos) and charging $14 for a salad that doesn't even fill the container and has brown lettuce. Also purchased a chicken pesto sandwich recently and noticed a premade one was taken out of the fridge. I requested it to be grilled but it was still cold when I bit into it! I understand refrigerating for efficiency, but a grilled sandwich shouldn't be cold.
I asked for chips with my wife's order and no pickle..I got mac salad and a pickle. I asked for roasted red pepper and spicy mustard and got beets on my sandwich with no mustard. The place was quiet with only a couple of orders. The tables were filthy and none of them were occupied so they could have been clean
Service was nasty and gave us the wrong order. When I called to tell them the staff was rude after leaving me hold for over 10 minutes. I will never go back. They don't deserve the one star. Too expensive for average food and nasty attitudes. When my husband got there the owner was very nice. He gave us the correct order and gift cards. I just wanted to give the whole experience. The first part was base off of interacting with the staff in store and over the phone. The owner was nice but his staff wasn't. I will skip this restaurant because I don't like confrontation.
At one point I believed this restaurant offered good tasting well crafted dishes but the quality has definitely fell off in the past year or so. As of late, every time I've ordered from here, the quality has been sub par and simply not worth the price I'm paying. Many dishes lack flavor, even in something as simple as their breakfast sandwich. I've ordered this for lunch one time while at work and my colleague found a small rock in her dish. Not to mention the time when I ordered breakfast apparently past the time the restaurant offered it (yet it was still an option on the menu) and a staff member thought it'd be a good idea to make my omelette but also scold me on the bag. Writing "NO BREAKFAST PAST 10 AM!!!!!!!" - something that could have been handled a bit more professionally.
My wife and I went into this bakery and stood there while the person behind the counter talked on the phone for 10 minutes. We weren't even acknowledged. She got off the phone, went to the back, and talked to the other employees. As we were deciding to leave, she came back to take our order. The cinnamon coffee cake muffin we purchased was good, but not worth the disrespect or the wait.
The food was terrible. The salmon bowl had very cold, salmon and freezing, cold grains. It felt like ingredients were defrosted and put on a bowl, and nothing else was done. The tuna sandwich was soggy and I was not able to even finish it because it tasted really bad. No care was put into the food. the food is very expensive. For that price expectations were not Met. The staff was busy, celebrating one of the employees birthdays, and did not care about the food preparation.
Went with our family of 7 people on our traditional dress on a holiday event, the cashier didn’t even ask if we wanted to dine in or takeout. Half of the food that we ordered came as takeout and the other half came as dine in. When we got our takeout half of the order, we asked if the workers could put it for dine in instead, then one of workers got angry and slammed our takeout bag down. Racist manager and rude employers, not worth going to for the food either.
The sandwich I got had the worst pickles I've ever had with an almost peanut butter taste even tho it was a Cuban sandwich
I really want to like Bountiful Bread, but after receiving the wrong order from them on multiple occasions, I had to write a review. I had custom made a vegetarian sandwich online. They did not include lettuce or tomato that I had asked for and gave me the wrong kind of bread. The amount of avocado that I had paid extra for was pitiful. If I'm going to pay $12+ dollars for a sandwich, I expect it to be made right. If this were the first time this had happened, I would not be writing this review. But, yet again, I am disappointed by the sandwich I received.
Another disgusting capital area eatery. Why are you serving sad, wilted, improperly washed lettuce? Nasty. Easily the worst salad I’ve had in NY. Their house dressing is a thick gloopy nightmare, not a dressing. The chicken that’s included is 3 measly, rubbery, dry, nearly frozen nubs. I’d rather chew on a catheter bag. Now, I don’t normally complain about a piece of bread, but seeing as how this is “bountiful bread”, it should be mentioned. And wow, the baguette was day old, stale, and tasteless. So maybe their supply is not bountiful enough, or even well made. Whoever managed today 2/10/26 should be ashamed. I wish I could have my money back. Thanks for reading.
Love love love the tomato pesto soup and the rocky mountain muffins. They used to be worth a trip out to Stuyvesant plaza just to get some. Unfortunately, they've been hit hard by inflation. While sick at home and craving their soup badly a few years ago, I planned an order of it on door dash until I was sticker shocked to see that one bowl of soup costs nearly as much as a sit down meal! Out of curiosity, I looked at the menu prices for the fine dining, full service restaurant next door to them and found the pricing to be nearly the same as Bountiful Bread, where you have to order, pick up your food and bus your own table for the same cost. I would definitely return if the prices could be more reasonable!
I ordered 2 6" cakes: 1 lemon, and 1 strawberry and cream. Both were VERY disappointing. About 75% of each cake was a heavy frosting. There was very little filling and it was only in the center of the cakes (rather than spread across each layer). And neither cake had much taste due, I think, to the overpowering sweetness of the frosting. I will not order from this bakery again.
Unfortunately was so disappointed. Spent 50 dollars on avacado toast, power bowl and soup. Soup was room temp, the power bowl everything on it was ice cold including the cold eggs. The beans and corn seemed like they were just straight out of a can. The avacado did not seem like real fresh avacado and was spread in a thin paste
I typically don’t go out of my way to write bad reviews, but I ordered a caesar salad wrap, with chicken. Got a grilled chicken wrap with about 3 pieces of lettuce throughout the whole thing. Point being it needs more lettuce and less chicken. Entire wrap was smaller than my fists and it was $16.
Went to the bountiful bread location in Stuyvesant plaza just to get tomato soup for dinner. I showed up 20 minutes prior to closing and was told that the soup was put away for the night. I guess the full menu isn’t available if they are closing soon.
