A go-to favorite! Fun and knowledgeable staff, can sample few drinks to take their recommendation on what want. Have sat and read a book at the bar, or been in the cozy corner with a candle and some friends. No food, but great for a happy hour or staying for hours.

Wow - it’s really a special, lovely place. The drinks are strong and delicious. The owner is so kind and the prices are reasonable. Next time I come here I want to bring a book, cozy up in the corner, and drink glass after glass of wine. The ambiance is perfect - great music, not too loud, mood lighting. Truly one of the best bars in the area.

This is the best bar in the east village, if not the entire city. Solid happy hour ($10 martinis?!), amazing bartenders, and great snacks (best handmade guacamole!!) Thanks to the staff, I feel comfortable coming here alone or bringing friends. Especially Saúl, who is SO welcoming/funny/easy to talk to. Anyone who doesn’t like this place doesn’t understand what a classic NY bar is meant to be, and is missing out on getting to know the awesome people that work there.

Nice vibe, not too loud so you can actually talk, reasonably priced and amazing cocktails! One downside is that the bathroom lock is one of those door chains when you open it as much as half a foot wide before realizing it's locked 😂

I stopped by here to have a glass of wine. I was alone, so I sat at the bar. However, they had indoor seating as well as a few tables outside right in front. The place is cute and cozy, it’s small, but feels welcoming. The bartender was great, he was really attentive and personable. He answered all my questions without an ounce of being annoyed. I also tried the charcuterie board and loved it. It was too much for one person, so I shared it with the people sitting next to me. I recommend this place and will definitely be back.

My friend and I found The Immigrant on a freezing cold, snowy day in the city. We'd been running around all afternoon and had time to kill before going to an off-Broadway show that evening. When we entered, we were greeted by the bartender, who pointed out the only available table (the interior is quite small). We took the table and accepted menus. The Immigrant has happy hour every day from (I think I remember this correctly...) 4 - 6 pm, so we took advantage of reduced drink and food prices. The Immigrant is small and dark, just like you would expect a bar to be in a tucked-away spot inside an old tenement building. The bartender, who was the sole employee in the place, was doing everything: taking food and drink orders, running to the other side, where the kitchen is, and then delivering food and drinks. Yet we didn't wait long for anything, even as the bar filled up over an hour or so. And he did all of this without losing his smile or relaxed demeanor. We really enjoyed the wine and the cheese plate, and the ambiance of the place. Definite 5 stars.

Been coming here two years and this place has always been a cozy getaway for me on Sunday nights and a perfect date night spot after dinner. I’ll never forget the first day I walked in and the owner, Jason was serving me and telling me the story of how the bar received its name and was just so courteous in service. Anari, another excellent bartender. Always provides excellent service. I hadn’t been in almost a year and he still remembered who I was. Besides the homie feel of this bar by its patrons, they only serve a few cocktails, but let me say, the few that they do serve, are undisputed. I always start with the espresso martini which is one of the best in the city , then, the Saint Andrew’s. The Saint Andrew’s is more in the fruity side, but also very refreshing. It was my first time trying the mezcal marg and was good after having the Saint Andrew’s prior. Lastly, I always close my night there with a Negroni. That has to be one of the most phenomenal cocktails they have and never disappoint. If I had to pick two coattails that sum up this bar it is definitely the espresso martini and the Negroni for sure. Can not miss with either or. This is a local east village spot, but I come here every now and again and am never disappointed. Come here on a date night or to feel refreshed by one of their cocktails. Also, playlist on Monday nights is pretty cool too.

Cute little quiet and intimate bar with friendly staff! Went in while walking around the block. Music was low enough to talk, loud enough to enjoy! Clean bathroom as well!

Great outdoor seating with amazing lights and seating indoor. Very cool bar to hangout. Staff is very covid friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate needs wrt to covid. Drinks are all right, not the best selection in the neighborhood but definitely one of the best ambiance and style-wise. Would love to check it out post covid but definitely recommend for a lazy drink or even a date! 😉

Good wine selection and intimate cute bar. The margarita was weak / watered down and the old fashioned was okay.

Ah ah ahhhh....AH! Ah ah ahhhh....AH! We come from the land of the ice and snow From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow... Okay, this isn't actually the spot where Zeppelin would be blasted, but for a $12-15 glass of wine in East Village, you could do worse. Bonus people watching spot, like the drunk girl who left her phone in the bathroom and the frat guy on a first date.

Before coming here, I have never had a spicy margarita I didn’t like. Last night, everything changed. There is something terribly wrong with the spicy marg!!! First and foremost, it tasted watered down, like it had been topped with mineral water. Secondly, the house made sour mix had pretty much no tartness or sourness to balance out the savory flavors of the tajin — it tasted like tajin water that had an essence of lemon lime sprinkled in. I also couldn’t taste the tequila at all. Margs are defined by bold lime and tequila flavors and so this spicy marg utterly lacked the essence of a margarita. The mild and savory flavor of the drink would have been perfect if it was on a bag of chips and not a spicy marg. I really need a bartender/owner to respond to this and tell me why exactly your marg tastes like that. Did I get one that accidentally used 3oz of water instead of tequila and lemon lacroix instead of sour mix or does it taste like that on purpose?? I’m sorry if this is insulting but the recipe desperately needs to be adjusted… Spicy margs aside, this place has a wonderful ambiance, excellent staff and I had a delicious mango beer. It’s a great bar which makes the margarita letdown extra disappointing.

$15 for a gin n soda. You’re paying for the real estate. Nice atmosphere. Impress a date here but lose your shirt.

Tap room: ambiance is not that great, where is the music and why do i have to stare at a black wall that has no decoration. Both our beer and wine choice was not available. Happy hour beer was $6.

The waiter with long hair and glasses was micro-aggressive towards us by refusing to provide water, and was hinting at us for staying too long. We ordered two drinks and later ordered two food items but had to cancel the second food order bc of his passive aggressive attitude. When we were ordering the second food, he was visibly upset and then was talking to the bartenders staring at us with a weird look. He refused to provide us water. While table beside us had one water each person along with the drink. Later we asked another waitress if she could bring us water she immediately said yes without any problem, and we asked if the bar has a policy for sitting hours she said no. But we left immediately after anyways due to how uncomfortable it got. If there is a policy for sit-down hours please state CLEARLY instead of blaming the customers.

I rarely leave one-star reviews, but this experience really upset me. Our waitress (black hair) was noticeably rude and seemed intent on rushing us out from the start. She repeatedly asked if we wanted to order a second drink after we had politely declined multiple times. Only a few minutes later, she brought us the check. Shortly after that, she came to our table and said coldly, “I might need you guys to leave in a few minutes,” while I was still halfway through my glass. There are no reservations here, and we came early specifically to secure a table before the normal Friday crowd. Other tables that had arrived before us did not appear to be rushed in the same way. It felt as though we were being pushed out because we had ordered one drink each — as if we were considered “low ticket” and not worth the table. It’s frustrating to pay New York prices, be expected to tip 20%, and then feel unwelcome for simply enjoying a drink at a normal pace. I also noticed multiple other reviews mentioning this same server, which is telling. Disappointed, because based on other reviews, I likely would have had a much better experience if not for this interaction.

Came here for a few drinks after work with my coworkers. Right off the bat, the bartender was extremely rude, nasty and just overall unfriendly. He cut my friend off while she was trying to order and then never once came to check on us--we had to go up to the bar to ask for water and another round of drinks. When it came time to pay, we were all overcharged. I had two glasses of wine @ $14 each plus the hummus which was $9. My bill should have come to $37 plus tax, but he decided to give himself a hefty tip which he was not deserving of and charged me $53. He then refused to provide an itemized bill or even print a receipt for us. Will not be returning here.
