This was the most amazing dining experience I've ever had! Prices were GREAT and the quality AND phenomenal presentation of food was incredible! Great portions! The place was SO SO charming and sweet, a little hole in the wall that I can't believe we were blessed enough to stumble upon! AND such a very friendly owner who spoiled us and treated us like family!! The food was AWESOME, especially the desserts! Home-made pasta, 98 bottles of wine to choose from! My only complaint is that he is not located in Michigan so I could eat there every week!!! YOU HAVE TO GO HERE!! It will make your trip so memorable!! We will be going back for lunch!! If anyone has given them a bad review there is something seriously wrong with that person!!! Five stars isn't enough!!!! Don't leave New York without eating here!!

lasagna bolognese! ***Updating my review after visiting a second time. The moment you walk in you feel like you are entering a cozy family atmosphere that has the vibe of “old New York.” White table cloths, old photographs, calm lighting, and very soft music, such that you can actually have a conversation over dinner! Perfect place for a date in the west village, and even more perfect if you’re trying to avoid the “trendy” 20-something crowds you see swarming other restaurants and bars nearby. This is the kind of restaurant where the host and waiters know their regular customers by name. It’s pretty clear that Trattoria Pesce Pasta is a staple for long-time locals in the neighborhood and people who are craving some solid Italian food that isn’t overpriced. Pasta and lasagna were delicious and consistent with our first visit. The one comment I would add is that the sauces are kind of on the heavier side so be mindful of what you order if you’re looking for a lighter meal. I’m not a big dessert person but the ricotta pistachio cake is to die for. Looking forward to going back!

“Hey Joe!!” the staff warmly welcomes yet another regular, and there are many of those in here for a reason. Authentic New Yorker accents echo as older city-veteran patrons commingle near the post-bar-hopping crowd, all united by a common mission: lasagna. And make no mistake, it’s the lasagna you’re looking for here (I typically don’t even like lasagna — yet I occasionally crave this one). With the rise of many inauthentic restaurants serving pipeline-manufactured food, this place in contrast satisfies my need for a wholesome neighborly dining experience. Get the pistachio cake at the end, non negotiable.

Amazing lobster pasta. Definitely come back again. Small shop good for a quick bite but also can be good for a night out as well.

Omg I’ve been craving pasta fagioli and linguine with clams for AGES. I live in Texas now and there’s just no options. I’m in nyc for one day and randomly stopped in here. 10/10! Highly recommend!!!

Very good Italian restaurant in the West Village. The service is always welcoming, attentive and friendly. The menu is reliable and specializes in shellfish/fish, though meat is available. The wine list has many reputable wines all under $75. Daily specials are abundant. Seafood risotto is superb. I usually ask them to make me Shrimp Fra Diavolo, not on the menu. See you soon. 😁

After walking out of another establishment that was extremely noisy and impersonal we stumbled into this incredibly lovely family run restaurant. There is nothing pretentious about this restaurant — it’s very inviting and comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious authentic simple traditional Italian dishes and very Reasonably priced. A lovely touch which I’m sure is intentional is that we were not presented with our bill until I asked for it. If you are looking for a comfortable unpretentious authentic family owned New York Italian restaurant in the village this is the place to go.

Great atmosphere with a traditional village feel. The lobster ravioli was delicious.

Excellent food and service! Waiters were so attentive and the owner made us feel very welcomed. The baked clams were an amazing appetizer and I will definitely be coming back for more of the homemade lobster ravioli. Overall amazing food and experience, a must try in the city!

I’ve been going here since I was a teenager; brought my first date here when I was 17. It’s a very easy place to be considered a friendly face, as the staff are consistent, attentive and caring. One of the most romantic places you can go in the village and not feel an ounce of pretentiousness. Pasta is made fresh, there are an abundance of different seafood options and their wine selection pairs perfectly with whatever you order. I highly suggest an espresso and lemon sorbet for dessert.

Good food. Friendly service. Great value for money. What more do you need? My wife and I really enjoyed our meal. The place is rustic and fun. The guests are a mix of people who have been coming there for years mixed in with the lucky tourists who happened to find it. With 2 glasses of wine each, and 2 appetizers and 2 meals the bill was less than $100...for good food in Manhattan!

We both really enjoyed our meal. Quality, tasty and unpretentious food. We had the escarole to start with pasta dishes as a main. Nice atmosphere too.

Came here on a whim and was so pleased I landed here! A cozy space that doesn’t feel too claustrophobic, but has the charm of a tiny tucked away trattoria that nyc is known for. It was a really nice place to rest during the first snow of the year— quite charming. The real reason I am writing my first review ever is because the lasagna bolognese was maybe one of the best plates of pasta I’ve ever had. Highly recommend if looking for a bite to eat in the west village!

Straight out of a Woody Allen movie! Loved the atmosphere. Food was wholesome, family-style. Service was attentive. Would go again for the linguine pesto. Love to twirl my pasta!

It was a cold, very wet night when we arrived in the village on board a coach. Half the coach descended into the Trattoria at the same time. Despite the crazy influx of diners service was impeccable and the food delicious. No fuss made when everyone arrived without any notice! I loved the Spaghetti with meatballs and my husband said the lasagna was one of the best he'd had. Old school Italian dining in a beautiful little restaurant.

Since I've done reviews, this is the first time I've given any establishment five well deserved stars. I was introduced to Pesce Pasta around 1996, when it was under a different owner. The current owner was a young waiter then, and every time I ate there (previously, every Friday evening), I always ate the same dish, which wasn't part of the regular menu or specials, it was created for me, and today, whenever I visit, not as frequently as before, the owner remembers the dish. I took a dear friend for dinner this evening, as a pre-birthday gift, and surprisingly, the owner wasn't there; he was on a well-deserved day off. His son who was running the restaurant attended us and ensured I had my usual. The portion was slightly less than I was accustomed, but just as tasty and enjoyable. In the years since going to this restaurant, whether during the week or weekend, it was always packed, sometimes waiting for 30 minutes for a table. I was afraid that they might have been affected by the pandemic, but they seemed to have weathered it well; tonight, the dining room was packed, each table occupied and the staff attentive to everyone, as if they were an extended family, as they all seem.

They don’t make them like this anymore. Great service, small business feel, INCREDIBLE prices for the quality. Have lived in New York for five years and feel lucky to know this place. I wouldn’t come with a group of 12 friends for brunch, but it’s a place to come with people with whom you love to share an intimate and delicious meal.

G

I come here often with my husband and friends because it’s amazing. I’m Italian and struggle to find Italian restaurants that match the stuff my grandma made but this place is so close it not only feeds my hunger but also helps me with my homesickness. Definitely my favorite restaurant for any occasion!

We enjoyed a late dinner at Trattoria, which only happened because we wanted to get away from the rain. However the atmosphere was incredible and relaxing and the food was even better. Service was alright but could have been better but the food made up for it. We had the pesto pasta and the seafood risotto, both of which were delicious and normally priced. All in all would definitely recommend.

Beautiful experience in NYC. Felt like I was in Italy again. Comfortable and charming restaurant filled with welcoming locals offering suggestions on their favorites. I enjoyed a stuffed artichoke with a delicious butter broth for dipping, sea bass with leeks and a bowl of house-made pasta. Taking half back to the hotel. One of the nicest foodie experiences this traveler has enjoyed. The price quoted included appetizer, main course and a nice glass of wine. A local who eats lunch here daily ate a lobster, clam with pasta dish. It looked amazing! Generous, portion of seafood too. A real find that I am looking forward to repeating soon!

Please do not tell your friends about this place. I beg you. The food is incredible. It’s perfectly priced. The atmosphere is authentic. The staff are charming and wonderful. But here’s the problem: I can almost always get a table. And if you tell your friends about this secret New York City gem, then they’ll tell their friends, and soon the tourists will discover it, and then it’s all over for me. So please do not tell your friends about this amazing restaurant. I’ll put the malocchio on you. I’m warning you. No, but seriously, go. It’s great.

18 years. Let me repeat, 18 years we have been coming here, and not only is it Amazing, but it is CONSISTENT CONSISTENT CONSISTENT! This is honestly our favorite "neighborhood" style restaurant. The prices are beyond reasonable and the quality is always Top Notch! Not a single thing has changed in quality, portion, or service in all the years that we have been coming here. I cannot be more passionate about a review...I am not one to write reviews about restaurants because they are truly an individual opinion for everyone's taste and preference are so different, but this little gem truly stands alone. I just hope they never change or go away, I would be heartbroken. Bleeker St. Pesce Pasta is what coming to NYC is all about!

Perfect NY Italian experience! My favorite place in the city had closed after being open for like 50 years so I was afraid I wouldn't find another place, and I was happy to find Pesce Pasta. The red sauce is thick and full of flavor, you can tell they put a lot of attention into their food. We had the Seafood diablo pasta with lobster and the chicken parm. Both were excellent! They have a nice selection of wine as well. The prices for what you get are incredibly reasonable! We will definitely return on our next trip in town.

Very cute. Stumbled in time avoid the heatwave. Had a wonderful waiter. Ordered the fettuccine with shrimp and mushrooms and it was homemade and delicious. I make my own pasta and am Italian and approved highly of my dish. Bread and app was mesh. Pasta to die for. Atmosphere was perfecto.

Came for an outdoor dinner on a Sunday evening. It was divine. The wait staff feels so settled into the establishment, as if they came with the building. It has a very classic NY Italian feeling, like what you imagine in the movies. I had lobster, mussel & clam fra diavolo- absolutely delicious. Seafood was not overcooked and the spice was just right. I look forward to returning.

Lovely old school Trattoria, great food and freindly service. This place was recommended to us 15 years ago, by a shouty old cab driver, who's sadly dead now. Finally, on our third visit to NYC, we ate there and it was just as good as he said it would be. There was a pic of Gino, the cab driver, on the wall too.

I have been going here over 20 years since college and the food has always been great and remained the same. No corners cut. Great prices for the entree you receive. And no Italian hang over all the meals are cooked with care.

I loved the cozy, warm, dimly lit atmosphere at Pesce Pasta. It made for a wonderfully intimate dining experience while I savored the grilled sword fish dressed with fresh tomatoes, sauteed scarola with garlic and pesto pasta. It was a delight. I highly recommend it when in the West Village.

One of our favorite spots when we lived in NYC. The Italian food is amazing, and the owner Arsino and staff always do a great job making sure everything is just right. They were always wonderful with our children too. Very extensive menu with meat, fish, and pasta dinners. During the busy season, be prepared to wait a bit for a table, but it's well worth it. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Best Italian food we had in our one week stay in New York. This location is authentic and charming. We are lucky that the pizza place down the street had a line an hour long. I am not sure if saying Pesce Pasta is an oasis but the restaurant itself in terms of the location along with the service is only second to the fantastic meal that my date and myself had over the weekend. We began by sharing the roasted peppers which if you didn't have a nonna who made them for you when you were young, these come about as close as I have ever tasted. ( I almost didn't want to share them ) The pasta e fagioli soup was so good, I wanted to order a gallon just to bring home. While I had the tuna which was cooked to perfection because I am very finicky about it being cooked well on the outside and delicate on the inside. It was seasoned perfectly and had a flavor I am still thinking about. The pasta dish, linguine shrimp and calamari that my companion had was difficult for me to take over completely as the shrimp and calamari, while not being too large, were buttery soft. The service was very friendly and while obviously ambivalent regarding entree suggestions was extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for a wonderful experience, a phenomenal meal and a notation in my phone for a fantastic first date restaurant.

This was such a wonderful experience - feels like a proper New York institution. The staff were amazing. I made my own error of ordering my steak too well done (totally my fault) and when I ordered an additional chicken they took the steak away and didn’t put it on the bill, even though I never complained about it. It was so kind! I have a difficult allergy and they were so respectful and accommodating. When the waiter changed and so something came which I couldn’t have they took it back, no questions asked. Even without that it would have been reasonable, but it’s a rare gem of a lovely vibe, wonderful service, takes walk ins (we came at about 7 on a Saturday and there was space) and good value in a prime spot. What a gem.

Lovely and hearty Italian fare—especially their pasta and seafood dishes. The lobster ravioli stands out with a rich, flavorful sauce, and the seafood risotto is tomato-based, brimming with fresh shrimp, calamari, and scallops . The mussels marinara delivers bold, authentic flavors—just enough sauce to dip bread without overpowering . Portions are generous and comforting, true to classic Northern Italian style

You don't need a large space or fancy decor to enjoy a marvelous meal. All you need is this old-time small Italian restaurant. Once you walk in you'll be greated by a smile and the great vibes generated by the experienced staff. Once your food starts to arrive it will become apparent that you made a wonderful decision. The Lobster Tail Fra Diavolo was devoured before I could even take a picture of it. The Pesto Ravioli and Calamari came next and were just as tasty. Nonetheless, for me the absolute winners were the Meatballs and the Baked Clams. So good they reminded me of my mother's cooking and nothing will ever match her cooking.

We totally loved this place! Their foods were nice, service was flawless, and the vibe was also very romantic. My company tried risotto and he fell in love with the dish. He kept talking about that one.. i tried shrimp oil pasta and that one was so great too. I would definitely go back if i got a chance. There are lots of options for your pasta, so if you want, you could choose whatever type of your pasta. The entrance of the restaurant is beautiful.

The ambience was the highlight. A perfect little Italian spot in a quaint part of town. I ordered a stuffed artichoke, pasta fagiole, and the house Chianti. Unfortunately, I found the food to be quite soggy and under seasoned. I hope I just ordered the wrong things because it’s a great spot otherwise.

The restaurant has an old italian feel and look, you must need reservations 4 sure, lots of specials mine was lobster. Linguine with clams. A good proportion of clams and the lobster was very tender and soft., it took us 4to 5 times to ask for bread. They're super busy but still,,,, the calmra we're decent, really didn't care for those overall, the restaurant is very beautiful very cozy and small and , LOUD

Hi, I visited the place on June 13th and my review is based on a one time experience. We had dinner, 3 people outside sitting. We had the Caprese salad as a starter and then ordered the penne with vegetables with garlic and olive oil sauce, the cheese ravioli with tomato sauce and the spaghetti with meat balls, no drinks or dessert. The total was 90.40 which is decent compared to other places in the village area. Food - the food was ok, nothing special. The salad wasn't great and it contained basically 4 slices of an under ripped tomato upon which 4 huge slices of mozzarella where placed with a leave or two of basil. Compared to Caprese I had in other places in the city, this Caprese was a little under the standard. Service - the service was ok, nothing special to say for neither good nor bad. Atmosphere - since it was a very nice day, we decided to seat outside. Unfortunately, it was super noisy outside. I could say that for us, the atmosphere of the outside sitting wasn't great. Thats being said, I cant testify for the atmosphere inside which might have been better. All in all, I rated 3 which for me is OK.

The tre fungi risotto was disappointing as it lacked creamy taste and the lasagne was OK to taste but too heavy. Service was ok. Won’t go back.

The food was good, they have a surprise priced. Ask before order for the real price. We went here with my family, the menu have a price for pasta. But beware!!! The meat have another price. I pay $31 for a single pasta with chicken. $22 pasta $9 tiny chicken. The price is not the problem if you have a real price before you order and if you have a great taste. So at the end of the order we receive that surprise with a group of 10 imagine the prices.

The drinks were cute. The caprese salad was wonderful and the sauteed broccoli rabe was extremely tasty. The downside was it took over 30 minutes for us to get our food after the first course and there was no one else at the restaurant but us. I had cheese ravioli with marinara and my son had the mixed grill. His seafood was all overcooked. And when we got our bill I was charged for an extra Bellini. Great atmosphere, mediocre food and lousy service.

Disappointing. All three mains we ordered were completely tasteless. Mushroom risotto, steak and fish soup. Bread was stale. Wine by glass was terrible. The only time I had such subpar food in NYC.

We did delivery. The food was prepared and sent quickly. The food itself? Underwhelmed to say the least. Little to no food, and it was bland. Chicken picatta should have a nice lemon hint to it. The sauce tasted like flour. I’d be embarrassed serving this to a customer.

How does this place even have 4 stars??? Don’t go here the food is awful and insanely expensive for what it is, waiters are creepy and frankly bad at their job, and they only have wine on their drinks menu (that isn’t even good). Really not sure how they have this rating

TERRIBLE! Perhaps not putting a bunch of watery tomatoes on the trout maybe an ice cream sauce with rice or something. This was the most disgusting drenched trout I’ve ever had in my life. I regret ordering it and wasting my money.

Worst service ever, workers do not care about the customer, 0 attention to detail, rude, I got pasta they gave me little cheese even after I asked for more, and they controlled the cheese terribly. I asked for a dish the short Spanish guy said he would check on it and never told me if they would do it or not he just decided not to do it and not say anything, like I never asked him. I ended up not even ordering it. I will never go back to this place. Not worth it at all

They do not list the prices on the menu, and for good reason. Each small dessert is $25. Glass of poor Prosecco, also $25. So over $100 for dessert and drink for two in a small off the main streets cafe. Go to the Ritz or Waldorf and save some money.

The food lacks flavor and is far from authentic Italian cuisine. I definitely do not recommend it, despite the high ratings.

The food was really disappointing. Ordered the Striped Bass and the Salmon and the taste was sub par. Also very small portions. But worst of all was the service. We had a server that was very rude right off the bat, even though the place was empty.

I went to this restaurant with another person and there was a 20% tip already on the bill without our knowledge (which is only mandatory for parties of 6 or more; in this case, there was only a party of 2). Additionally a bottle of water cost $15 which was not told to us at the beginning. The server simply offered us two choices of water without saying a word. The food was not the best you could definitely find a better place around and for 2 people the bill came out to $84. Do not recommend this place perhaps go somewhere else.

The food was poor. We ordered the stuffed artichoke appetizer. I'm not sure what we expected, but we got an artichoke that was filled with dry breadcrumbs. A stuffing should be eatable. This was not. I had the linguine with shrimp and calamari. Nothing was fresh, the pasta, the sauce, or the seafood. Pasta was very chewy. The sauce had no flavor it was just red. The seafood was tough. I have added a photo of the artichoke. This is after we cut the heart out, but the dry breadcrumbs are on full display. The restaurant is a lovely space and I wanted it to be good.
