If you are in Santa Cruz and care even a little about food quality, flavor, and atmosphere, Suda is an absolute must. Easily a 10 out of 10 and one of the best dining experiences in the area. The food is phenomenal. Everything tastes clean, intentional, and incredibly well done. No seed oils, no heavy or greasy aftertaste, just real ingredients cooked the right way. The flavors are unreal and you can tell so much care goes into every dish. The Suda burger is hands down one of the best burgers I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, insanely flavorful, and balanced in a way that keeps you thinking about it long after the meal is over. The ribeye genuinely melts in your mouth. Tender, rich, and cooked to absolute perfection. And the sticky Korean cauliflower is next level. Crispy, bold, addictive, and honestly unforgettable. On top of the food, the cocktails are amazing. Thoughtfully crafted, not overly sweet, and they pair beautifully with the menu. The atmosphere is beautiful, warm, and inviting without feeling stuffy, and the service is excellent. Attentive, friendly, and professional without being overbearing. Suda is one of those places that feels special every time you go. Incredible food, clean ingredients, stunning flavors, great drinks, and a space that makes you want to linger. You can tell the owner has put their heart into this restaurant, Santa Cruz is lucky to have this spot.
This nice little American style restaurant in Pleasure Point was worth going to. The restaurant here focuses on American dishes, like hamburgers, but also has other offerings like fish tacos (which were some of the best I’ve had in a long time). This restaurant is located right downtown and is nearby other little shops. If you’re in the area, are you looking for something to eat, this is a great place to stop. This restaurant also has a really good assortment of cocktails and beer on draft. The restaurant has a dedicated bar that you can sit at or you can sit outside and enjoy the weather. Everything was clean, well organized, and the outdoor seating has some shaded areas and some unshaded areas. The service was also really nice. They were fast and our food came out pretty quickly after we ordered.. I definitely recommend coming here if you’re in the area and are feeling like having a good hamburger, salad, or American dish.
I made our reservation through OpenTable, and they secured a lovely outdoor table for us. I ordered the market fish, which was a delicious Chilean sea bass served with fingerling potatoes and oyster mushrooms. My date chose the carnitas tacos. For dessert, we enjoyed the chocolate mousse and the cobbler. My only critique is that the fish was left in the window for too long, which caused it to dry out under the heat. Additionally, the cobbler dough was a bit too thick and chewy, although the flavors of everything were excellent. Our server, Kalia, was very sweet and accommodating as well. We would come back to eat on the patio again in the future.
Suda is located near 41st Ave off of Portola Drive. I often forget it is here until someone invites me to lunch and this is where we end up. I have been here for a baby shower as well; they have a private party room in the back if you want to have a more private space with your friends. They have great brunch and lunch. I have only been here once for dinner and it is just as good. I usually end up getting the burger or fish tacos which are both really good. The atmosphere is really cute; they have lots of plants which makes the space feel inviting and cozy. I love coming here. They also have plenty of parking in the parking lot. If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely give them a try.
10 Out of 5 Stars – This Steakhouse Slaps Harder Than the Ocean Breeze 🥩🌊🍷 Right near the beach, I grabbed a seat at the bar expecting “pretty good.” What I got? Absolutely outstanding. The food came out reasonably quick, but the flavor? Next-level. Like the kind of steak that makes you pause mid-bite, stare off into the distance, and reconsider all previous definitions of “good food.” Everything was cooked to perfection, seasoned like a dream, and served with the kind of chill coastal vibe that makes you forget the world exists outside of dinner. I don’t hand out 10-star reviews often. Actually… almost never. But this one? Earned every single one. If you’re anywhere near the beach and want a meal that feels like a reward for surviving Earth, this is your spot. #SteakhouseRoyalty #BarSeatBliss #10StarExperience 💙🥩🌅
This was my 1st time at Süda. The food was fabulous. I had the salmon special and it was one of the best salmon meals I've had in a long time! The burrata and berry salad was super refreshing. Their vanilla martini with champagne chaser was tasty and the chocolate mousse with homemade marshmallow fluff and raspberries was so good and hit the spot! We will definitely be back!
Friends suggested this place and glad we tried it. Super cute place offering good quality food with sizeable portions. I had the lox and bagels and not only was it big but came with a side salad enough to be an entrée. The drinks were yummy. They have a mimosa deal for $30 where you get a bottle and two side juices (there’s like 5-6 varieties); I would highly suggest if you can get at least three people to share. The cocktails are yummy; I started off with their version of a French 75 which I think was called the Suda 75? Anyhow, good eat and drinks. Ambiance very lively. They have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Parking was easy and our server Josephin was awesome. She was very attentive to our rather demanding group. Would definitely go back!
Food was great, genrous portions and fresh. Cocktails well thought out & tasty, but could use better ice. Ambiance on point. Heated patio. Dog friendly. Awesome brunch selection. Vegetarian friendly. Parking, yes. Service a little spotty (forgot our app) but, with a lovely smile and was acknowledged. It's definitely a top spot for Santa Cruz.

Had the fried artichokes and fish tacos. Both were good, fried artichokes we're great. Patio allows dogs! Service was great and they have extensive cocktail and beer lists. I wish I could've ordered tacos ala carte or two instead of three.
I have been eating here for years and love it. My wife and I had our wedding reception here 5 years ago and they did a wonderful job. If you want the best burger in town try the Pit Boss.
The pork belly lettuce cups are AMAZING, we came here a few weeks ago and I'm still thinking about them. We also got the short rib ragu, which was incredible, and the ceviche (strawberry and avocado) which was good but not as stand out as the other two. We also really enjoyed the cocktails, and the service was great. Highly recommend!
One of our favorite restaurants in town! Delicious plates, warm ambiance with great interior design and we love the heated outdoor seating. The caring owner is hands-on ensuring that everything is on Q. Suda is a must-visit.

If you hanet made time to pop in for a bite to eat, I highly recommend it! Perfect spot at the point. Friendly staff
Nice, comfortable atmosphere. Food looked great. The wait to get food always takes a really long time, so I would definitely plan for a wait. We were left with a pitcher of coffee and it was strong and good but it would’ve been nice to have something to munch on while waiting an hour with just strong coffee.
So first, their ‘breakfast spuds’ are hands down the best breakfast potatoes anywhere. And I mean, anywhere. They are clearly 2x or maybe even 3x roasted. Crazy crispy, great flavoring. Everyone in our party including one other vary Potato Particular Person agreed. I’ll be a making a meal of these and a bunch of sides henceforth. As far as the food goes, everybody enjoyed their dishes. Cocktail menu reads very well, although the drinks are less flavorful and not as spirit driven as you would expect. Maybe over-diluted, maybe just sat in the shaker. Will have to reassess next time. In summary, I have not been here in many many years but overall was much more impressed than in their early days. July 2025 Update Happy to say that so far breakfast/brunch is still very good. And yes, the potatoes remain amongst the best in town. Cocktails are definitely good, I particularly liked the Grapefruit Paperplane, excellent pairing with brunch. And let’s face it, without cocktails brunch is just breakfast. The wife is discerning when it comes to eggs Benedict and she quite liked her basic Benedict. There are so few spots for actual brunch in town - as opposed to a good diner breakfast - it’s nice they remain a great option.
Great quality food and excellent cocktails! I wish the menu had a few more choices, but overall I was very happy with what we got. I had the salmon and the other person in my party had the poke bowl. Nice indoor and outdoor seating.
Chanced upon Suda while walking around Capitola and loved the ambiance! We went for brunch but I’d love to come back for drinks. Buffalo cauliflower was SO GOOD. French Toast wa so-so, looking forward to trying more of their food though!
The burger was tasty (not the frozen patty but actually handmade patty). The fish tacos were unfortunately battered (I was hoping for grilled fish). The downside with the battering is that it left pockets of mushy flour texture. Some of the cabbage shreds looked aged (browning). The service was friendly and well-intentioned but seemed short-staffed given the number of customers. The low score on atmosphere is based on the dusty overhead lamp hanging over our table.
My family was traveling near the point in Santa Cruz and looking for a nice dinner. This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at. I recommend making a reservation if it is a party larger than two or three people. It does tend to get busy as it is popular. The children's meals are reasonably priced at $9 each and are good portions. The three adults ordered the suda bowl with steak, the steak meal, and the catch of the day which happened to be halibut. Halibut. The person who ordered the suda bowl could not stop complimenting how good it was. The steak dish was very salty, but the steak was tender. The halibut was a little bit dry which was disappointing. The bed of accoutrement that it sat on was a little bland. We had decent service, but more attention from the busser. They have outdoor and indoor dining. There is free parking in the adjacent parking lot. What is the best part? It is literally located around the corner from the point in Santa Cruz. After our hearty meal we went for a walk around the corner to watch surfers on the Pacific Ocean as the sun set.
We visited Suda on a recent vacation. We arrived at almost 3:00 pm and were given several menus. The wait staff came by and shared that the menu was changing. During 3:00 - 4:30 they serve a different menu from the brunch, lunch and dinner menu. Our visit was based on a hugh recomendation for their burgers, then we found out burgers aren't served duringthe time of our visit. We asked since it was so close to 3 and we had driven a significant distance if they could serve us burgers and they agreed!! We loved the burgers and the mix of truffle fries and sweet potato fries was delightful.

Well I was told, but wanted to try myself for my birthday. Loved it when it was Skinny McDougal's. I ordered the pit boss burger and truffle fries. Burger was oily and the fries were okay No flavor. One friend ordered the pork pasta that had negative flavor. And my other friend ordered the carnitas tacos that were so oily and greasy and also had no flavor, meat was burnt. The waitress was nice she brought me over the salted caramel dessert with a white fluff topping. It was so salty and the fluff on top was like just white whipped eggs. It then took a long time to get our check. Mind you there we're two hostesses plenty of waiters and waitresses and yet the sous chefs were bringing out the food. Sorry folks won't go back. Does look pretty cool inside though.
