This is my boyfriend and I’s favorite steakhouse. From our first time coming in 2022, we were sold on all ends: the food, staff and atmosphere are fantastic. The porterhouse always has a great crust and we get a great medium rare; the ribeye is also delicious. The mushroom mac & cheese and mashed potatoes are always our go to sides as they never disappoint but I also recommend their creamed spinach (also very good) and fries! The restaurant feels intimate and romantic, and yesterday’s playlist was so jazzy and fun. The owner, his wife and staff are all absolutely lovely and super friendly every time we’ve gone for dates and a couple of other occasions such as birthdays. We often recommend MTM to our friends and family, definitely worth a try!
Everything was absolutely perfect . The steaks were flawlessly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The meat was beautifully seared on the outside while perfectly juicy and tender on the inside , love their almond martini . it was an excellent dining experience that I would highly recommend.
We dined here on 12/31/25, our 2nd NYE dinner with the MTM family. Our reservation was made for 9:00P, same as the year prior, knowing it was likely one of the business evenings (if not the most) of the year for them. We had a wait of about 20-25 min, but we expected a wait and we were all good. One the staff (really sweet blonde woman) was great about acknowledging us and keeping us updated about our seating time, and I bet other diners may have not been as patient, but we were all good and appreciative of her pleasantness. We were seated by the owner I believe, who was also kind, and since we knew our order (same as last year), we promptly provided our order to our server staff, the porterhouse for two, mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus. Once we ordered, we enjoyed a cherry blossom martini and Texas mule while we waited and not even 20-25 min later, all of our meal components arrived….that was a short wait! The porterhouse steak was cooked perfectly to our preference, and the perfect portion for us. Didn’t leave us overly full! Delicious mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus. We had a discrepancy with our bill of an overcharge, but the owner was kind and handled it swiftly. Last year we didn’t have room for dessert, but this time we took the walnut pecan pie to go, it was just ok. This is our new tradition for NYE, we enjoy it’s in our neighborhood walking distance, warm and cozy, food is delicious and feel welcome here.
We live in Dallas but my wife works in Manhattan every year for a few months. We have eaten here for Christmas Eve every year for the last 3 years. We love the food and service. It’s wonderful. It’s the highlight meal for me when I come and see my wife for the holidays. Can’t wait until next time.
Came here for an anniversary dinner and was so worried that the steak wouldn’t be good. I was incredibly wrong and the steak was absolutely delicious. The sides were a little bland so we added salt and pepper. The service was really attentive and the bathrooms are so clean. Highly recommend this gem in Astoria and there’s plenty of street parking. Reasonable prices as well, considering the times we’re living in.
Unbelievable dinner!!! The steak melted in my mouth, delicious bread, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, branzino and chicken were delicious. Beautiful restaurant with relaxing atmosphere. The service was impeccable. Especially our server Alan. I highly recommend this restaurant. Great date night!!!
We came to celebrate our anniversary and the service was exceptional! They greeted us wishing us a happy anniversary upon arrival and served us champagne at the end of our meal. They made sure to make our anniversary dinner feel special. Thank you!
This steakhouse is a gem that’s hard to find but unforgettable once you do. The seafood starters were fresh and perfectly prepared, the steak was cooked to perfection, and the sides were rich and flavorful. Dessert was decadent and beautifully presented. What really sets this place apart is the ambience: warm, family friendly, and filled with genuine love. The entire staff was attentive to every table, making you feel truly cared for. From the food to the service, everything here deserves a perfect 10/10.
A delightful dinning experience, attentive, friendly service, chill ambiance, relaxed atmosphere. Good price point & range, satisfying, delicious portions. Obviously, it is not a coffee shop with $13.99 dinner special, one needs to know this is on a different level. This is a great spot, for those who seek a steakhouse experience in the area. Will drop by again in opportune time.
Al was so wonderful. We came here randomly after the pool and it was empty so got a little nervous but after sitting and seeing how attentive Al was I realized this was going to be good! I got the cheese burger and my friend got the chicken breast. BOTH were phenomenal! My friend has a red meat allergy and we didn’t realize the chicken came with a gravy sauce so when it came we had to send back (had beef fat) and we hate being that customer but they made no fuss at all! Honestly the food and the service TOP NOTCH. Oh and their drinks are strong! COME
Let me start by that AL who greeted us and was also out bartender and server(we came for a late lunch/early dinner) was the MOST amazing server. My friend had a burger(my friend said it was the best burger ever) i ordered the MTM chicken breast and and i forgot to mention i was allergic to something he calmly and very lovingly took my food back and had a whole new plate prepared. I was super impressed by this. I hate to make a big deal about it. But the fact that he didn't make me feel anything but cared for was absolutely AMAZING. I was visiting this side of Queens and my first time here. The meals were GREAT. The attention to every detail is why i will definitely be back and will also recommend this place. This is truly an amazing gem. A MUST COME TO PLACE. Ask for AL he also makes phenomenal drinks. This place is amazing
Been here a few times. Steaks were cooked exactly as we ordered. Bacon was perfect. Crab cakes were a little soggy and first time we ever seen prices written on magnum bottles of wine with gold markers. They are lined up right when you walk in. $250 $300 $400. Seem to be working cause they have the empty ones right on the floor by the door. The place was packed. Two birthday tables and everyone having good loud conversation.
Trust the reviews. This place is quality. The atmosphere is very classic steak house. Lots of wood and wine all over. Prices were modest. Service was top notch. Above Astoria blvd it gets a little rural and with it comes hospitality. Bunch of families eating. We got the steak for 2. Ordered medium. The best part was 1/2 the steak was medium and the other 1/2 was medium rare. So my gf was happy. And I left the medium rare on the hot plate for a little longer and it cooked to medium. So. On point. Thanks Meet the Meat!
One of !!!THE BEST!!! Maitre d I've had the pleasure of meeting in the restaurant industry!!! The chefs here know what they are doing with a piece of meat 🍖🤣 !!! Get the Ribeye!!!!!! Octopus 🐙 was a bit underwhelming with the amount of oil on it ruining the grill taste but wasn't overcooked even slightly which is a huge plus. Mac and cheese is actual Mac and cheese as well !! Steak and cheese were the highlights! I wasn't offered water the entire meal and the lady is kind of lost and I detest when you see an item is ill prepared and you still bring it to the table
Exceeding expectations. Host was gracious and welcoming. Steak was the choice of the day. There are fish and chicken dishes as alternatives but we came to eat what this restaurant is known for. Rib eye and the strip were at perfect temperature and flavorful. Creamed spinach was a good choice. Found the hash browns over salted. Wine choices are in mid price range.. Appetizer was the grilled octopus, tender and nicely seasoned.
The restaurant is a bit isolated, but it's worth visiting. It's on the corner of 21st Street and 24th Avenue, close to Astoria Blvd subway station (train W and N), and a few steps from Astoria Park. The owner was very attentive. Seems like they have a lot of regular customers. During our visit, we've seen a lot of people celebrating some important dates (anniversaries, birthdays). Not so many tables, there is an outdoor patio during summer time. Great selection of wines (the wine list is missing vintages) and very good prices for all of them. They even have large wine formats (names after biblical figures), such as Magnum (1.5 L), Jeroboam/Double Magnum (3L), Rehoboam (4.5 L), Methuselah (6L), Salmanazar (9L), Balthazar (12L), and Nebuchadnezzar (15L), We came here to try their ribeye steak for two, since we've heard and read some good reviews. The ribeye for two is $109.95, we asked for medium, and it was executed well. However, the meat was cold and we were dissapointed after our first bites. Almost at room temperature, I'm not exaggerating. I guess they left our ribeye to rest after cooking for too long, I don't have any other logical explanation. Just to mention that the ribeye was served sliced, however I strongly encourage them to slice meat in front of customers. It was extremely cold and windy that evening outside, and eating hot food was crucial for us. Sides we ordered were creamed spinach (weird flavor), baked potato (decent), and french fries (burned). We ate everything since we were very hungry (we didn't have lunch), but we certainly expect better food quality next time.
Food was delicious. Highly recommend the octopus appetizer and porterhouse. The drinks were also good. I would’ve given five stars but it took a long time to get the check and we were late to pick up kids from a care center. They seem to be understaffed because it took 1hr and 45mins for us to get through 2 cocktails, 1 app and 1 entree. We would have ordered dessert but we didn’t have time. The service was good, they just seemed to have a lot to juggle. I think having an extra waiter or someone to handle clearing/setting up tables would help.
Went for restaurant week with a few friends. Was expecting good things based from reviews for the food. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. 2 x salmon bland. So was steak and also undercooked. Broccoli just tasted like garlic. Friends burger was best thing on the table but he didn't even eat it. Only 1 person actually finished their meal. The service was very good though. Just wish they had of asked how everything was as we would have spoken up. They gave us a free dessert which was very kind of them
Went there on a Friday and they had a full house. We didn’t have a reservation but the host and who was later also our waiter and bartender was friendly and able to accommodate. With only two total people working on the floor it took a bit of time to get our drink orders, having to flag the waiter for our second round after the food came out. The appetizers were not good, with the slab bacon fat not fully rendered and the rind not edible. The four broiled shrimp were overcooked and over powered in lemon and what looked like and tasted like jarred garlic. The main entree was solid and well executed as we had the porterhouse for two, Brussel sprouts and hash brown potatoes. Overall it has a very nice and comfortable local vibe with some uneven service and food.
Just went there for dinner. 8:45pm on a Friday night. Did not have a reservation but the establishment had plenty of empty tables. Was asked by the server if we needed help. Asked if we could get a table for 2. Server asked if we had a reservation we said no. He went in the back to “ask” someone. Came back with another gentleman who said they were closing in 5 minutes. The website clearly says they close at 10pm. If timberlands are not allowed into this establishment they should say that (although there is still snow and ice everywhere). Otherwise I felt very profiled by this interaction. If I had a reservation we would have been seated even though they were closing in 5 minutes? Horrible first impression!!
