This is a cool place to check out with pub vibes inside and their outdoor seating was perfect for watching sports games with friends. They had a couple of larger tvs outside on the patio section that were placing a soccer and football game. The service was alright but nothing too noteworthy. Their food on the other hand was absolutely fantastic. We had their hamburger and fish and chips. This was the best fried cod I have ever eaten. Their beer was also amazing and paired well with what we were eating. I would highly recommend trying this place out!
Was completely blown away by the quality and taste of the food. From the greeting as we entered the door, until the goodbye on the way out, very impressive experience. Heather and Pat were great to talk to! Great job all around.
Awesome staff and ambience for days. The food is on point. Best "chips" I've ever had!!! Great place to watch sports.
Recently moved closer to the area and saw Kelly’s. Ventured in a few months back to try a new spot, was immediately met with a great lively atmosphere, great food, and a staff that has made this my regular go to. Taylor behind the bar has been my go to person since i started coming, she remembers my order of Bangers and Mash (Highly recommend) and a cider. Nice having a great face to look forward to talking to each week. The food is phenomenal as always, drinks as well. Highly recommend this place, the staff is fantastic, the food even more so.
My new favorite Irish pub in Austin! Great food, drinks and authentic atmosphere. My favorite bartender there, Taylor, gives me the low down on all the best grub, is friendly, funny and always elevates my experience and mood when I’m there. For the most authentic Irish pub experience in Austin, ask for Taylor and order a Guinness and scotch egg and you won’t regret it!
Best Irish pub in Austin by a long shot. Great food and good vibes. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend the burger, one of the best in Austin in my opinion. Go to the back bar for the best service. Aidan is my guy.
Great bar. Great Irish pub. Eamonn is my favorite bartender and we haven’t had a better experience in Austin than here. I’m gonna bring all my friends and family back
We came here on a Friday night and the atmosphere was busy and lively. Fun place to grab a Guinness, and we were shocked how great all of our food was. Shepard’s pie, wings, and fish and chips were all delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff.
I love this place! Excellent food, drinks, and vibe. Danielle at the front bar was amazing with really prompt attentive service and great drinks. The lamb stew is so hearty and comforting, especially during the colder months. Will be back!!
Kelly’s Pub is the real deal if you want an authentic Irish pub experience. The Guinness was incredibly fresh ,easily the best I’ve had in a long time, and way better than most places, I know weird lol but is just different. The fish and chips were outstanding: crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Great atmosphere, great service, and an overall awesome experience. I visited with my sister and we had a great time. I’m not from Austin, but I’ll definitely be coming back every time I’m in town.
For Texas, the Guinness is very good. The staff are friendly Irish lads who are very friendly. Would recommend the Spice Bag. Solid food, chicken a touch overcooked but tasted great, definitely could have done with some chilis to add to the spice but all round hearty good food.
A true Irish pub in every sense. Great vibe with the traditional booths, dark wood, slightly crowded bar and complete with an outdoor seating area. Fantastic food, we had the Shepherd's Pie and the fish & chips, both amazing. And the staff, Brian & Vada (sp?), were attentive, yet chill in the best way. Perfect, would highly recommend! LoganLIT
Love visiting Kelly's today! Kim, our bartender, was so sweet and had great good recommendations. We loved the onion rings, potato skins, double cheeseburger, and buffalo wings! Fair prices, great atmosphere, and kind staff. Will be back! Also, great music!! Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Hall & Oates 🩷
Just returned to Kelly's Irish Pub and of course not a disappointment. We ordered fish and chips and the Scotch egg. Absolutely delicious. I moved here from New York City 16 years ago, and that's exactly how long it's been since I had a proper Irish breakfast. Man, finding it on your menu and then getting it and having it be that extraordinarily well done was really a pleasure. The shepherd's pie can easily be called Gourmet shepherd's pie excellent pores on the whiskey doubles as well, and all of the staff is constantly making sure you're good. This place is fantastic
Stopped in to have dinner on a Tuesday night. I had the open faced sandwich and my boyfriend had the fish and chips, both were great! Beers were more reasonably priced than expected so that was a nice bonus. The loud 70s and 80s music would probably prevent us from coming back to just hang at the bar, but we will be back to try the all day brunch!
A nice place to eat! Their drinks are great (perfect if you want Guinness). You may be tempted by the fish and chips, and they are delicious! Sprinkle on some malt vinegar, dip in their tartar sauce, and it is even better! You will be HAPPY you came to Kelly's! Staff was very friendly and always checked in on us! Nice vibes!
Kelly’s Irish Pub has been my favorite spot for the past couple of years, and for good reason. It’s more than just a pub—it’s a place where friends, family, and coworkers gather for everything from casual pints to meaningful moments. I’ve hosted wakes here, celebrated work happy hours, and enjoyed nights of great conversation over perfectly poured Guinness with games on the TV. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in an Irish pub—warm, welcoming, and never trying too hard. The bartenders and service are great, the music is always on point, and there’s a sense of community you don’t find in just any bar. About the fish and chips: I’ve tried my fair share, and I can say that, in my opinion, Kelly’s serves one of the best this side of the Atlantic. The batter is crisp, the fish is flaky and fresh, and the fries (yes, proper thick-cut ones) are exactly how they should be. Pair it with a pint, and you’ve got a meal that could hold its own in Dublin. Whether you’re looking for a place to toast to old friends or just a solid pub to unwind after work, Kelly’s delivers every time. Sláinte!
It says Irish pub on the sign and it means it. Shepherd's pie, fish and chips, bangers and mash: they are all there. Our waiters accent was so thick I almost couldn't understand him, it was awesome. The draft beers are perfectly themed with a great Guinness pour. If you're looking for an authentic Irish Kelly's is your place. Also as a bonus, we have 3 appetizers, 5 entrees and 5 beers and only spent $150
Oh the dilemma of where to eat on Good Friday of Lent in the 78704.... I was starving from fasting and craving a good fish and chips so my husband mentioned this place was within walking distance. Fish and chips were on point. We ordered 3 for the table (hubby & I and two young kiddos). All were consistently cooked. You make wonder why this matters, but I've been places where i ordered fried fish and one was not all the way cooked. The batter was perfect thinness - inviting the perfect crunch. Fish was clean tasting if ya know what I mean. Portion size was decent. And those peas!!! What in the ??? is on those peas? I don't even like peas y'all and I was eating peas off of all 3 plates. And then I was drinking whatever the remaining sauce was in the ramekins. So back to my kid comment - yes we brought our kiddos to a pub. It is for sure a legit pub vibe when you walk in. We were lucky to get a table right by the entrance which seemed less pubby lol. I wouldn't frequent with my kiddos here but if I need another fish and chips fix - I know we can still do it.
Came here to watch a Man United match. We just had beers so can’t comment on the food - will try it the next time I visit for a match. Nice vibe on the back patio, watching with other United fans. It was definitely chilly out though. Super nice that Kelly’s opens early for the early morning games!
What a great fun little place. The atmosphere is great with multiple areas of seating. The bar area is quaint and comfy and the booths have plenty of space. The service is just OK as they appear to be short staffed, however they are very nice and considerate as well as they know the menu well. The food is great for a pub. We tried multiple dishes and all were really tasty and fairly priced. I do have to say the scotch egg is fantastic. The one thing to keep in mind is their kitchen does close early, 10pm, for a pub. But it's worth ot to eat just a little early. Enjoy this place and the atmosphere. Experience it with friends, imho.
Came on a friday night which was mistake 1. Trusted them to take care of us mistake 2. Expecting something good, mistake 3. Order was never placed. Our appetizer of fried mushrooms arrived at 840. We ordered at 715 and this is what we got. Our second server was cool. He comped our food but the only thing that was good was my wife's shepherd's pie. The veggie burger refire was not made dry like I asked originally. But the place was packed so maybe it's just my bad luck. Please put the picture on your menu so folks know what to expect.
I had come here on a Friday night with a couple of my friends to enjoy food and drinks. The service was very very slow. We had to get up several times to ask for a beer to which then we were told that they would come to us which took another 5 minutes. The food took over 45 minutes to come out for wings and a few orders of fish and chips. Food was tasty. When asking for the bill, it took 15 or so minutes to get it after asking twice. A few days go by for me to realize that they had altered the tip to give themselves 50%! First and last time for me and will let others know of this experience. Will not be coming back again.
Customer service was terrible. Fish n chips had odd seasoning in it. If they had ever tasted proper batter they would know it was off. Irish stew even worse! Could not eat it. The broth was so strong and awful. Have been before for breakfast and it was good but wont go back for dinner ever. And by the way no staff asked if we enjoyed the food when our plates were full and we said we were finished. Some tables had service for drinks clearly ours did not. No Irish or austin hospitality tonight.
It's a Great little spot. Fish and chips are good, so is the Shepherd's Pie. Guinnes fresh and tasty. Also a large selection of domestic and local specialty Brews, and Spirits. Just be weary of the local Austin overly Liberal views and vibes. Shouldn't exist here, but it does, and can ruin a great time. Overall decent place. Live music on Friday. Update: the owner Jim Kelly is the type of person who assault's customers over music in the Jukebox. So in America You get assaulted by a liberal over music You decide to play. Also Ashley the Bartender is the type to call the police after being rude and not tipped. Avoid this person at all costs. Basically a Toxic Atmosphere. Looks like an Irish Pub... once again proving looks can be deceiving. Be aware of your bill as well. Have been over charged for other's drinks I didn't approve on My tab. And have witnessed the staff making the same mistake several times in a row.
