Bella Vie

I had the pleasure of going to Bella Vie last week on a date and it was wonderful. Unfortunately, we went a little too late to have a view of the lake as it was dark out but the restaurant itself feels very quaint and romantic. The staff were all very nice and made sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed our food which we did. This is a must try on Long Island especially for dates and anniversaries.

Our waitress was very helpful and pleasant. The owner introduced himself to us to make sure everything went well. The food tasted great and the atmosphere was great.

Service was impeccable and covid compliant. We sat outside and enjoyed the water views. Food was amazing. My caprese salad was fresh and flavorful. I liked the addition of peppers on the side. Veal franchese was tender with just the right amount of lemon. The mashed potatoes were so creamy. His baked clams ... Whole clams, not chopped. And he loved the duck. The chocolate layer cake was decadent and very shareable. Only complaint? No parking lot, we had to park on the street.

I learned about Bella Vie from the Long Island Menu instagram page and knew I had to take my parents there for a celebration. We ate outdoors overlooking the lake and had a wonderful lunch. The dessert was incredible too. I also noticed that the indoor rooms were beautifully decorated and had excellent covid precautions at each table. Including your own bottle of hand sanitizer👌. Lovely place and with a great view of a "lake". perfect for family occasions to casual lunch/dinner. The owner and the serves are delightful people! I recommend checking there specials are they have a wide range of prix fix options! I would definitely and highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back!

Went for a birthday celebration. Awesome atmosphere, nice waitstaff....tasty and delectable food.

Nice and cozy restaurant with excellent service. Food is OK Went for lunch but turned into dinner. 4 people, appetizers for 4 , 2 drinks a piece, 2 veal Parmesan dinners, one skirt steak dinner, 1 Veal saltimboca, 4 desserts, $470 with tip. I feel a little pricey for what we got, but we still had a wonderful time.

I came here to celebrate my birthday on a weekday afternoon. The food was incredible and you can’t beat the view. Chicken was cooked perfectly and my mimosa was 10/10. Service was also incredible and our server was very kind and attentive. Would definitely come again!

Was to busy enjoying the food that I forget to get better pictures! Everything was delicious! Tagliatelle bolognese was amazing as was the Linguine de Pesce!

From baby showers to dinner (with or without restaurant week), the food at Bella Vie is always AMAZING. Mike and his crew absolutely know great food and will make sure you do by the end of the night, as well. This place is absolutely amazing! The view is perfectly framed by the beautiful windows in the sunroom style room and the view is the second best thing about this place. We went for restaurant week and I had a delicious chicken parmesan and my wife had a unique and delicious salmon. We can't wait to come back!

Bella vie is our favorite place for a romantic couple dinner . Or just a nice drink in a quaint relaxed place . We come here every year for our anniversary and it’s always awesome. The food is delicious and the drinks too . The service and view is also top notch :) the tiramisu is the best we ever had

I had an incredible experience at this Italian gem! The food was absolutely divine, bursting with authentic flavors that transported me straight to Italy. Mike, the owner, was not only welcoming but went above and beyond to ensure we felt like cherished guests. His friendliness added an extra layer of warmth to the already fantastic ambiance. My Husband and I had dinner here over the weekend. The moment we walked in we were greeted by someone who was funny and personable. I am assuming he was the owner because of the way he interacted with everyone. The waiters were kind and always anticipated our needs. The view was beautiful. we sat by the water and got the most calming experience. The food was amazing. 10/10. I would definitely return.

Met some friends in Bay Shore, at Bella Vie. (the old Aria Melanie, Lakehouse, Duck Pond Inn) I hadn't been to this restaurant in probably 25 years, so I was looking foward to seeing what it was like after so many years. All of us took advantage of the $22 Prix Fixe Lunch menu. For the first course, everyone ordered the Ceasar Salad, except me. I had the lentil soup. They all enjoyed the Ceasar, and mentioned how flavorful the dressing was, and one mentioned that it had to be homemade, it tasted so good. My Lentil soup was excellent, as there was a plentiful amount of vegetables, perfectly cooked lentils, and the perfect balance with the mild spices that flavored this hearty soup. For the Mains, people had Flounder Oreganata, many orders of the Eggplant Parm, Gnocci Ravi, and I had my 109th burger in 25 months. The Eggplant Parm people were very happy they ordered that, as they shared it was very flavorful, and a better than decent sized portion. The Gnocchi also recieved high praise, as did the Flounder Oreganata. The Bella Vie burger came with lettuce, tomato, onion, mozzarella, and mushrooms. The burger came to me just as I ordered it, medium rare, no rabbit food, no cheese, and mushrooms on the side, toast the inside of the bun, and crispy fries I normally would opt in for a nice aged cheddar , or blue cheese, but muzz on a burger just wouldnt work for me, so I declined the cheese. The meat itself was very flavorful. It had a saltiness about and a mild beefy taste, that I enjoy. It was easy to see that it was hand formed, as it was not pressed into a hockey puck like consistency, that usually lacks juiciness..This one was very, very juicy, and cooked to my liking. The bun to meat ratio was perfect, one not overwhelming the other. Fairly neutral in taste, but pleasant. Like I said, the burger tasted very good. Not in my Top 5 area, but still way up their in my rankings. They did a good job with it, all the same I would definitely order it again, and would have no problem suggesting you ordering it, as well. The service was excellent, from the moment we sat at the bar waiting for everyone to arrive, to the table service. Micheal the bartender/ manager type was very pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. As was Robert our waiter. They mentioned they also have an Event area that holds 40-50 people for larger dinner parties, and affairs. The restaurant overlooks a sizable pond, that was filled with numerous ducks when we were there. A smallish bar area, a brightly lit, from natural light, dining room, and another smaller dining room, sitting right on the pond make up the interior. If you're looking for a nice place to have lunch, I would suggest giving this place a try. You wont be sorry. They also have a dinner Prix fixe that I will be back for. Really great food! My Duo of Duck was cooked to perfection, and so were the pasta dishes. They offer a special on a bottle of wine which was very generous. L Constructive criticism: bread was the low point, soggy / oily. But the bread was free, so I'm not complaining. Fantastic service, there was constantly someone attending to us, and everyone was just so nice to us and accommodating to our little kids. Overall we left very happy, and definitely recommend this restaurant. 👌

Service is great, food is delicious and live music is on point.

My friends and I had lunch at Bella Vie and it was wonderful. The Chicken Francaise was tender and flavorful. Everyone was pleased with their entrees, souos, salads and desserts. The service and ambiance were both excellent.

Went here for Valentine's day with my girlfriend. Both her and I loved the ambiance, view, and overall atmosphere of the restaurant. The wait staff was lovely and was more than happy to help me. My server went above and beyond making sure everything was to my liking which goes a long way in the whole experience. The food was also very flavorful and filling. After the dinner they brought out a slice of chocolate cake with jelly that spelt out "Happy Valentine's Day" as a special request from my girlfriend, free of charge. Very professional and one of the best dining experiences you can get on Long Island. If you have people to impress, take them here.

Came down on Sunday night and first time there and everything was amazing! We sat outside and the lake view, the food and especially the service was all together 5 starts! My boyfriend hosted a beautiful 60th birthday luncheon for me, with our families this past weekend. The food, drinks and service were all amazing! Each and every detail was attended to meticulously, and everyone had a really wonderful time! We will definitely be back to our new favorite restaurant, as will all of our guests! It was everyone's first time there, and throughout the day, they continued to tell us how nice the restaurant and view was, and how they can't wait to visit again! A special shout out to Frank, Jimmy, Luis and Joanna, for taking such good care of us all afternoon, and making us feel like family! We love you all so much! We went for the first time and the place was pretty empty. It was concerning but we gave it a chance. We had wonderful service, the food was presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. Price reasonable This restaurant is a hidden gem We will return and try more of their entrees. The dinner music was perfect!

This is the perfect place for date night or business dinner. I have been for both and my best experience was am early dinner on a Tuesday evening. Great food, friendly and personable staff. The over all experience for me here had been as if I knew them my whole life and was being welcomed home. Highly recommend this for a different yet familiar experience.

We went as a party of 6. The owner was there to welcome us and was very nice to buy us a round of drinks.. They had great specials and a great menu with lots of choices. Specials where awesome. Drinks where how I like them , heavy. The waiters and waitresses where attentive and on top of our experience. I would reccomend this restaurant for everyone looking for a nice night out with there loved ones.

Such a great experience! We just left our Father’s Day lunch at Bella Vie and everything was perfect! It’s a beautiful restaurant with a beautiful view of the water! The food was delicious! What I really want to rave about is the service! Welcoming and friendly from the start. Accommodating to every request and even overheard us saying that we expected something to be served a little differently and they offered to make the change without us even asking!! Such a nice group of people! We definitely will be back to try the dinner menu because it looked wonderful!

This was my first time here and we came because of the other reviews. Upon walking in the bartender and owner were so friendly we immediately struck up great conversation. The restaurant is intimate and acoustically pleasant you can have conversation and hear the people you are with. Then to top it off the food and service was spectacular! We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great night.

From the moment I walked in with my mother and my fiancé, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The service was truly exceptional every staff member was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Now the food… there are truly no words. Every dish was bursting with flavor and made with so much care. You can taste the quality and passion in every bite. It’s the kind of food that makes you stop mid conversation just to appreciate how good it is. Absolutely unforgettable! We also have to highlight the owner, who is genuinely one of the kindest people I’ve met. He went out of his way to make sure our experience was perfect. You can tell he pours his heart into this place, and it shows in the atmosphere, the service, and especially the food. Bella Vie is a gem amazing food, amazing service, and amazing people. The food here was truly outstanding, and the setting is stunning—especially the lakeside view at the back. The atmosphere is elegant and inviting, with a clean, well-kept space. The staff provided attentive and professional service, making the experience feel both special and effortless.

Good Experience! We ordered baked clams as an appetizer and it was okay. Then, Short ribs and stuffed the veal chop special for dinner both were very good. As for dessert we ordered banana foster which they made in front of you it was the dessert special for the night it was excellent. The wait staff were all very nice and helpful!

The food was not the best Italian I ever had, my seafood pasta with diavolo sauce was watery and very spicy. Pricey versus other places in the same category. The view must be good even I was the for dinner.

Me and my boyfriend went here on Valentine’s Day and I was very upset about the food I got. For $40 the salmon seemed very bland and not too flavorful it also looked like the mashed potatoes were scooped and made sitting there for a while was also very upset with the vegetables on the plate as well. I am usually not one to write reviews but for the price I was very unsatisfied. I also only saw my waiter once or twice, most of the time it was the busser taking care of our table. Overall will probably not go back there to eat.

Nice atmosphere, food is OK. Got up to take a family photo & they cleared the entire table including a new $20. Dollar drink. So basically rushed us out after giving us a $200. Dollar check. Unbelievable.

This was one of the worst restaurant experience my family and I have ever had. It was a Friday night and many of the restaurants were either too full and no longer taking rsvp's, or they had long wait times. This was the only restaurant that had [immediate] availability. So, I brought my family here, a decision I quickly came to regret. When we arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty. We were seated in a corner near where the staff enter and exit the kitchen. We ordered a dozen oysters; and one or two of them were rotten. The served barely came to our table during that time to see if we needed anything, or to update us on the wait. All we ordered was a salad, fish, and gnocchi. Somehow, the restaurant messed up the salad. My mother, who ordered sea bass, was served Chicken Scarpariello (or some similar dish). My gnocchi arrived and was starchy, glue-like and almost inedible. We called a manager, and his solution was to offer us a free dessert. That's it. The worst part is, this was supposed to be a celebratory dinner. Two thumbs down.

First time and absolute LAST time at this restaurant!! The waiter had a personality of a box! He had to write down our order 2 times and still messed it up!! My son, husband and I decided to give it a try and it was terrible!! We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for apps, that were not even large enough to share but cost a pretty penny! About $25 each! Then waited 20 minutes for our salads! However we only received 1 of 2 salads ordered! The waiter informed us right before bringing the 1 salad that the other salad, Beat Salad, was no longer available!! Having to share a small dry salmon Caesar salad I immediately cancelled my salmon dinner! Why then, would our waiter 20 minutes later bring me the cancelled salmon dinner insisting that because it had sauce it would not be dry like the first salmon brought to the table?!! Manager then comes over and says, “you ordered 2 salmons so you should take the second salmon!” I retorted, ‘No I canceled the DINNER salmon 20 minutes ago, I do not want another Dry salmon.’ He then reluctantly, “adjusted the check to remove the salmon “. Upon receiving the bill the manager charged us STILL for the salmon dinner and removed the Caesar salad, which was far less than the dinner! Talking to the manager again about this got me nowhere so I just paid the over $200 bill which included the toughest lamb chops you never want to eat and a steak. Which in all honesty was the ONLY decent dish in the entire meal. If you can call it a meal! Terrible terrible service and WORSE food!

Wow. Probably the worst food I have ever eaten. Frozen crab cakes served with canned corn, overcooked octopus served with a weird blend of balsamic vinaigrette; not to mention the spicy dry chicken and the shrimp scampi pasta served in a greasy broth. This food is straight out of the 90’s when people didn’t have any idea how to cook Italian food. Service was good and the atmosphere was fair. PS. Overpriced.

When I came here New Year’s Eve with my boyfriend-it was our second time there. The first time we ate there the food was decent and we were treated respectfully….not sure what happened. The food was not as good and it’s not exactly cheap….the owner was rude during the whole dining experience and the waitstaff was also rude, aloof and inattentive. Def not going back and do not recommend at all! To pay that kind of money I want to enjoy my meal and the experience adios
