In the 4 years I've lived here I'm not sure why it took me 2 years post grad to finally try this place out. I'm confused. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST SUSHI PLACE IN BERKELEY. I absolutely adore the Lion King roll and holy cow the chirashi and even the maki were just amazing. Honestly this place has singlehandedly convinced me to move back and die in the Bay. Thanks for the great time.

Great lil spot, authentic sushi and reasonably priced. Often sushi can be hit or miss with a roll or 2 being stellar and rest average. However this place had excellent choices of rolls. Hardly anything with mayonnaise, lots of all fish rolls with good thick pieces of tuna, albacore, etc. We will be back here again and again.

I value consistency and get the same thing everytime: miso soup and double order of shrimp tempura rolls. Always freshly prepared and easily best of the bay worthy. Sometimes I forget to request chopsticks but the staff is always nice about it when I call. The amount of food for the price/quality is also great.

Excellent service and very friendly staff. The bento box was absolutely delicious and the portion was very generous. My son greatly enjoyed the fresh salmon. The complimentary ice cream provided for him was a thoughtful and impressive gesture. Highly recommended!

Favorite sushi in Berkeley! I've enjoyed all the special rolls, but I especially recommend the crazy roll.

Very happy with a birthday dinner with family. EVERYTHING was fresh and delicious. Beef short ribs, Dynamite roll, Albacore sashimi, flaming roll (it arrived in flames as promised) miso. Prices reasonable. This made me glad to live in Berkeley and proud of our downtown - we will be back !

Sushi spot in downtown Berkeley. Ordered the miso soup and Philadelphia roll to go. Lots of indoor seating no outdoor seating. Quick and friendly service. Enjoyed the miso soup! The Ingredients were fresh tasting and good sized portions. There was more cream cheese than salmon in most of my roll which is my main complaint (see photo). Otherwise they did a decent job and I'll probably be back to try another roll. Would recommend at least once!

Pretty solid, accessible, and affordable local sushi spot. Fish was fresh. Bento boxes were sizable. There was a lot of tempura on ours. Maybe too much; felt pretty heavy by the end. The sashimi was definitely a better value compared to the California rolls or gyoza for the bento boxes. Chicken Karaage was good but not as flavorful as I would have liked. Could have used a mayo or dipping sauce. Good service and nice decor.

Pretty solid, accessible, and affordable local sushi spot. Fish was fresh. Bento boxes were sizable. There was a lot of tempura on ours. Maybe too much; felt pretty heavy by the end. The sashimi was definitely a better value compared to the California rolls or gyoza for the bento boxes. Chicken Karaage was good but not as flavorful as I would have liked. Was great the first handful of times, but the rolls have gotten to the point of basically being rice. Miso soup is still better than most places, but the sushi has suffered a terrible fait.

Had high hopes but not met, Had salmon sashimi for which the portion was small and not the freshest. Also had salmon skin hand roll and a unagi roll: both were meh.

A coworker highly recommended Nikko. She couldn't have been more wrong. Service was good, not great. The hot tea I ordered was not even warm, didn't taste good either. The chicken karaage appetizer was very disappointing. They use VERY fatty small pieces of chicken thigh meat. The chicken was extremely chewy with a texture like rubber. No real flavor other than salty. The karaage does not come with any dipping sauce or fresh lemon. Hamachi Lover Roll and Orange Blossom roll both did not taste fresh at all. Price before tip was $51.65. That is a big price for really low quality food. Would I eat here again? Definitely not 👎
