I’ve had my fair share of Mexican food and this is by far one of the best restaurants. They have some of the friendliest and most professional wait staff and the food they serve here are some of the best in LA. It’s worth checking this place out. I come here often like one every week or two weeks and I’ve tried almost everything on their menu, including the drinks, and it’s consistently delicious. I can’t stop recommending this place to colleagues, friends, and family. Pablo and Claudio are some of the best waiters I’ve ever encountered and they greet me and my family whenever we’re here with kindness and make us feel welcomed. More than likely though, you’ll have a great time with any of the staff here. Also, checkout their Tres Leche Cake because that is one of the reasons you’ll come back!
Lovely place for lunch or dinner, small or large groups. Seating arrangements can be improved. Tables are a bit too crammed up and people may bump your seat while passing through. Food is good and service is great.
Party of 4 for dinner. We had a great server that was engaging and offered honest opinions on the menu and steered us to her favorites. The group had the Cantina Nachos as a starter. Delicious but could have used a bit more protein. We all had different flavors of their margaritas and and we were all happy with our orders. The Berry margaritas was very good. Our waitress suggested the Mole Poblano for me over the Negro and I was more than pleased. The chicken was a bit overcooked but the Mole sauce was aromatic and full of flavor. I would recommend. Atmosphere was excellent and the location was a bonus as it was next to a parking garage with free parking.
My Beverly Hills friend chose Cantina Frida for a lunch meetup. I was glad she did. I had not visited before. It's a kind of post-modern space yet very warm and comfortable. We started with nachos with pico de gallo (a generous portion) and decided to order the same entree -- quesadillas with pork pastor. We had just about as much as we could finish. They were delicious, stuffed with pork and tasty succulent cheeses. They were hearty but not heavy. After some decision we opted for the pastel de tres leches -- luscious cake soaked in milks. All of this was made even better by our wonderful servers (I wish I could cite their names) who happily attended us with patience while we lingered a long time -- they said "no worries, you haven't seen each other in a few years." Everything about Cantina Frida was terrific, I'll be back again, and on the next visit I want to try the beautiful bar.

A Jewel in the Heart of Beverly Hills — Cantina Frida If I could give more than five stars, I would. Cantina Frida is more than just a restaurant—it's an experience, a sanctuary of warmth and flavor tucked into the heart of Beverly Hills. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are embraced not just by the vibrant ambiance and inviting aromas, but by the people—every single person who works here treats you like family. There’s something inexpressibly beautiful about the service here. It’s not forced or scripted—it’s genuine, loving, and full of soul. The kind of hospitality you rarely find anymore. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, they remember you, they welcome you, and they care for you as if you belong to them. And then there’s the food—exquisitely delicious doesn’t even begin to describe it. Every dish is a celebration of Mexican heritage, refined with elegance and heart. Each bite carries the love and passion of the kitchen staff, and you can feel it. The flavors are bold yet balanced, creative yet comforting. It's a feast not only for the palate but for the spirit. Cantina Frida is my favorite restaurant in all of Beverly Hills—not just because of the food, but because of the people, the atmosphere, and the sincere joy I feel every time I’m there. The owner, a dear friend, has created something truly special here—something that cannot be manufactured or imitated. To anyone reading this: come not just to eat, but to feel what it's like to be welcomed, cherished, and nourished in every sense of the word. Cantina Frida is a treasure, and I am forever grateful it exists.
Celebrating 2024 New Year’s Eve here. The food is so good. I feel full after having a big soup called poloze verde Drinks are awesome too. The hostesses at entrance are so linda. Love it. 😍 Cantina Frida, , offers a contemporary twist on traditional Mexican cuisine. Diners appreciate the lively ambiance, enhanced by high ceilings and an open, airy space. The menu features a variety of dishes, including seafood and vegetarian options, with popular items like the Cantina Nachos and Chips & Salsas. Guests frequently praise the attentive service and vibrant atmosphere, making it a popular spot for both casual meals and special occasions. This little sauce is super spicy 🥵. Challenge it if you dare 🤣 🥳 Happy New Year 🎊🎆
I had a pleasant evening, eating very good food (some plates were better than others, but all were good) in a nice setting. Service was great, this is the kind of place where you happily leave a tip to the staff. I was particularly impressed by the work of the cleaning crew, I think they don't usually get specific compliments on Google reviews, but I observed them cleaning very thoroughly the tables, chairs, cushions and floor after every client.
We ordered the tableside guacamole, which came with two sauces: red salsa and green salsa. Both were delicious, and the guacamole was generously portioned, enough to serve 3-4 people. We requested hot sauce, which came with an additional charge of $3, but it was absolutely worth it—super delicious and super hot as its supposed to be! We also ordered the vegetarian fajitas, which weren’t on the menu, but they accommodated our customization. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. Finally, we had the Tres Leches for dessert, and it was fantastic!
I ordered a salad, guacamole, and tacos from this place on a busy Sunday, and I was blown away by how amazing everything was! Despite the crowd, the service was excellent, and the staff were attentive. The salad was incredibly delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I can't wait to go back just for that! To top it off, the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portions , I had an exceptional experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Mexican food!
We were visiting Beverly Hills and went to Rodeo Dr. I wanted soup & we found this restaurant with chicken and rice soup. My wife had chicken taco and Berry margarita. We sat on inside by the outside open window area. The soup was a really big bowl, shredded chicken, flavorful and hearty! The chicken taco was bigger than expected and she enjoyed it!! The Berry margarita fruit wasn’t sweet and was okay, not great. Our table did not have place seatings & after food delivered my wife went to another table to get napkins. The server was friendly. The kitchen was on the side of dining room behind glass panels we thought was interesting. The restrooms were upstairs and not ADA friendly that we saw other alternatives.
We come here for lunch often. The chicken breast is usually all I order that fits into my nutrition plan. It has amazing flavor and texture. Always cooked to perfection and consistent every time I go. The food for the most part is 5 stars across the board. The only inconsistency is the service. We had to flag down our waitress just to get the order. They messed up on the orders with the wrong side items. The food runner was amazing and fixed the problem quickly. They found a solution and we were all happy. The server never checked in to see how we liked our food. Actually, we never saw her the rest of the shift. Had to get someone else to get us our check. I hope we can get better service next time and with a little more consistency this is a 5 star review. 💪
The vibes & staff of Cantina Frida are great. Fast and friendly service, solid location in Beverly Hills & can be good for celebrations or date nights. Food is basic for Mexican/Tex Mex - we ordered quite a few dishes and all were average. Food is above average priced and drink prices are standard for LA ($15-20 per drink). Drinks are strong so that’s a plus. Restaurant can get very loud/hard to hear the people at your own table. Would give a 4 on the vibes, decor, service, and drinks. Food is a 2-3.
Good food and good decor but bad service because they only bring three shells for an order of fajitas that requires five shells. When I asked the waitress for two more shells, she said I needed to buy five more shells. I explained I only needed two more shells and she said that’s just the way in is. I explained if the extra order of shells came with five shells then the fajitas should come with five shells. She said she just works there and walked off. I was forced to correct this with the manger separately from the waitress who delivered poor service and had an attitude.
Cocktails and food were good. Good for a date. There was a bar people were sitting at so it does have an active bar for just getting drinks. Service was bad. It took forever for a waiter to come greet us. Took them forever to get us a table when it was not crowded and 9 pm at night. Took forever to get our drinks and food, took them forever to bring the check and they couldn’t accept the credit card because their machines were down. The music was great but good loud to hold a conversation. In terms of service this place was terrible. It took forever that we actually left at 11:30 pm. I would give this place another try. They have an interesting brunch that costs around $75 a person for bottomless drinks and all you can eat buffet with live music. With everything we ordered, 4 drinks, chips and salsa, ceviche tasting and 4 tacos, the bill was about $200
As a frequent diner in Beverly Hills, I was really disappointed in the low quality experience I had at this restaurant. First, there was a loud buzzing horn sounding every 3 minutes. I asked my waitress about it (who was actually really sweet) and she said it was a broken speaker. It was so distracting that I could barely have a conversation with my sister who was also dining with me. We both developed a headache after 10 minutes of this. On top of that, I ordered the cantina nachos. They came out cold and soggy. I had to eat them with a fork as the nachos on the bottom were complete mush and almost soup like. The presentation is an Applebee’s level. The ambiance is very pretty which got us through but I will not be back. Not worth the money.
Unfortunately, I had to take away 3 stars given that the last 3 times I came, it SMELLED like sewage. It's not comfortable to eat with that pestilence. Great, MICHELADAS ! Amazing place!! I enjoyed this place so much that I came 2 days in a row. I came to Beverly Hills for business and really wanted some Mexican food , especially a Michelada. I asked Google and found Cantina Frida it was definitely a great recommendation. The first day, a Ceviche, that recipe was really delicious, and of course a michelada or 2 lol. The second day, I had a delicious tortilla soup and another michelada. The atmosphere is really nice. Seating indoors and alfresco. Everyone is super friendly. Next time I'm in town, I will definitely come back to visit my new friends from Cantina Frida. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Please follow me if you find it helpful. Every time I am in town, I come back to try new dishes and drink. Never disappoint me
The food is just bad. “The mole is great here” - no it’s not. It’s tourist food Applebees energy. - The prices on top of that terrible experience while hearing bad 80s music adds insult to injury. Charging $12 per taco and $52 for shrimp fajitas is wild - idc if I’m in Beverly Hills you’re not a good restaurant to be trying that.
My co worker and I decided to get a work lunch in and have a meeting together. She is a frequent customer of this place and really enjoys it here, at first everything was great. However, when the bill came they took a very long time to bring the check back. Once they did it was wrong and we were in correctly charged. We asked them to void original form of payment and re charge us. The bill came back for the second time and it was still in correct. We asked them to make our experience right. The two of us got 2 quesedillas and an iced tea. Should not be that complicated to figure out how to charge a person correctly. We asked the manager for assistance and support and he was not willing to do anything. Now I have to fight to get my money back twice. It isn't much but it's the point, its the principle. What a bummer, what a horrible experience.
This is one of my go-to's when I am in LA. We always get the Healthy Bowls and my friend gets an Irish coffee with Baileys. It's usually around $18 for the drink. We often also just go sit at the bar and get the same drink. Last week, we ordered the same drink as always. The bartender seemed very confused and took forever entering our order into the iPad, that should have been our first clue. He then brought over two espresso martinis. He disappeared before we even realized what he had put down (we were chatting.) He was gone for at least ten minutes, we were the only ones at the bar. So we just drank our drinks, which were lovely even though it wasn't what we ordered- we were trying to be nice assuming he was new. Eventually he came back and started talking with a woman two seats down from us who had just arrived. He never looked up at us even though I tried to subtly get his attention for the check. Finally, he brings the check. Over $50 for two drinks! We questioned it. He explained they charge for each ingredient separately (what?!) and that included a top shelf whisky (which he had told us would only be $3 more. He also claimed there was a $6 charge for Baileys even though there was none in the drink we were served. He just kept arguing and saying the same thing over and over. We were tired and just wanted to get out of there so we paid and left- no tip. We are so sad to have such a bad experience at one of our favorites.
