We ordered Gujarati Thalis for 45 people as Catering and the food was delicious. Everything was well packed and fresh and so tasty. The quantity of the food was generous. Sachin bhai was very accommodating and patient with the entire process. Will definitely be ordering food from here and highly recommend this place!!
Amazing food and great value! I had a fantastic experience at Vaishnav Thali. The samosa and khandvi were delicious and perfectly made, and the sweets were some of the best I’ve had — fresh, flavorful, and just right on sweetness. The quality of the food is excellent, and everything is offered at a very reasonable price. The service was friendly and the overall experience was warm and enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Indian vegetarian food. Will definitely be coming back!
We swung by for a quick lunch today and were treated to freshly prepared, delicious food! The Vada Pav was exceptionally flavorful - hands down the best I've had! While it's a bit steep at $4 for a single serving, the quality makes it worth trying. Masala Tea and Dabeli was tasty as well. Overall good service and great place for Vegan/ Vegetarian/Jain/Swaminarayan food options!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! The taste of the food was absolutely amazing – a true treat for anyone who loves authentic Gujarati cuisine. Each dish was packed with traditional flavors, and you could tell that everything was made fresh with great care and attention to detail. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the warmth and humility of the owner, Sachin Shah. He goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome and at home. His passion for serving authentic, high-quality food shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. If you’re looking for a place that offers not just delicious food but also a heartfelt connection to Gujarati culture, this is it. Highly recommended!
Did we drive over an hour to get to this humble place for food? You best believe we did and we were not disappointed! The small intimate no frills restaurant reminded me of home instantly. As we walked in the sweetest woman hand-making fresh laddus asked "order che?" While I don't know a word of Gujarati- I was instantly reminded of my grandmother's kitchen. We ordered the Vaishnav thaali which itself was so beautifully arranged that I felt bad digging into it. The food was fresh and most obviously the best vegetarian Indian food I have had in New York or New Jersey. The poori and rotis were freshly made, piping hot and smothered in ghee. The vegetables were low on oil and simply spiced- truly letting the vegetables shine. The daal was comfort food and the aloo tikki had the perfect crunch on the outside and softness on the inside. I cannot recommend this place enough- we packed up some food for the week and headed home, stomaches full and heart content.
We ordered food from vaisnav thali for our office event! Food was delicious, more than 100 people tried their item and everyone was asking .. where did you get the food !!! Quality , quantity of food was good. Will definitely going to order the food from here. Also shop owner is communicative and work with your time to make your event successful. Moreover, their price is all aspect considerably low if we compare the quality of food get. Highly recommend for any catering or dine in here !
Great homemade Indian food, healthy and low on spices. I liked the kadhi a lot. Rotis served with thali are of different grains. No maida. Go for this option if you want Indian food but don't want to be overwhelmed with spices/oil etc, typical of other restaurants you have usually eaten at. Free municipal parking is adjacent to the restaurant.
We heard a lot abt this place and gave it a try. It was to our surprise to have such an authentic tasty Gujarati Thali with Undhiyu n othera varieties . The Lilva kachori n Samosas were served hot n fresh n super tasty. Also the staff was very courteous and polite. A must try place for authentic Thali...must try Vaishnav Thali
Wonderful food .. so homely and tasty. Presented very well. Found the place neat and clean and the options were just great. If you are a vegetarian, you would not want to miss this gem of a place. I had the Kathiyawadi Thali which thankfully was not oily (like the other Kathiyawadi places) and don’t miss the Khandvi and Chhas.. Too good. Must also mention the very helpful Ram who helped me with the selections and was so thoughtful. Sachin and his Mom prepare all the food and are great hosts. Loved the experience ..
Overall I give this 4 stars.. the atmosphere isn't winning any awards. It's kinda sticky and just meh. But, if you're there for the food, you'll find some gems. We really enjoyed the dabeli and vada pav – those were solid! The thali itself was a mixed bag. The 4 subzis were all pretty average. But the poori and farsan were surprisingly good. Basically, go for the snacks and farsan, skip the ambience expectations, and you'll probably leave happy enough.
Myself and a fellow vegan colleague came in and asked about vegan options. I specified no ghee, no yoghurt no paneer and we asked for options. My coworker repeated no animal products. I asked about the Punjabi Thali and she said yes it's vegetarian and i reiterate that we need vegan no animal products. My food comes and the Punjabi curry had paneer. They very quickly replaced it with the okra curry from the Gujarati Thali but it has already taken so long I just got my food to go. The door in was very dirty smudgy glass. Not cleaned in a long time. The few bites of food I tried was very tasty.
Service was very slow, they appeared to be busy on the phone with catering orders. Two of us ordered the exact same thali but got different vegetables and one got dal-chawal and the other got kadhi-khichdi. The khichdi was dry and stale, not the authentic moong-dal khichdi as expected. Gulab jamun were hot and tasty. They didn’t serve any chutneys with the farsan which was very sour and lacked any tempering. It’s very overpriced for the quality and ambiance, you can get much better food for cheaper in NJ.
I had a great expectations with the thali but it was good not great. While ordering the thali they assumed what I will like for a bread options instead of checking with me. I think they have to improve on that, if you are providing options please check with customer what they like to have instead of assuming.
Extremely disappointing experience, food was basically tasteless, we had Thali special we went for their pricely thali thinking it would be good, not at all. Had sandwich no taste, no salt or spices. Ask if we can have chai was told they are busy with hige catering order so they cannot serve tea. Wow so much for services. Three thumps Down for this resturant.
The dum aloo we ordered was not made in a proper way. The other sabji that was ordered, papdi-muthiya, had basically no muthiya in it and the few that were there were stone hard. Very disappointed. Wouldn’t suggest it to anyone.
My recent visit to this restaurant was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that customer service was not a priority. There was no welcoming atmosphere, and the staff seemed completely disinterested. We had to wait, and when we ordered, they were out of half the items on the menu. The food that did arrive was incomplete, and the service was lacking in every way. The staff didn't provide all the necessary items, and they seemed more interested in their phones than in attending to our needs. Even when we greeted them, there was no response. Overall, the experience was very poor, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The food was subpar, and the customer service was practically nonexistent.
Food was terrible and the wait time is ridiculous. Everything tasted very sweet and ambience is also very unwelcoming. Ordered gujarati thali - dal and curries were so sweet, i thought i was eating curry dessert. It had no salt and no taste to it. Owner should be put in jail for charging $17.99 for food like this. Icing on the cake is Spanish people are cooking Indian food. I don’t know what other people ordered to leave such positive reviews but it was certainly not my experience. Rotis and thepla were definitely fresh. This is the only good part about this restaurant.
