Finally visited Market Broiler in Riverside, and my only regret is that I didn’t come in sooner! The service and food are impeccable! Look at this surf & turf! I went all the way to Catalina and Long Beach recently for good lobster but didn’t find it in either place, and here it is in my own town! The atmosphere is casual, but the service is upscale. Perfect place for a business meeting or relaxing family dinner. Nice crowd. I’ll definitely be back!
We had a wonderful meal at the market. Broiler, people were so nice. The fish was so fresh.
Berry and his crew (Bernie, Victoria, and Travis, are amazing. Love going after work for a nice drink and good meal.
Actually I'm a new patron of the restaurant. I first went to a birthday dinner for my daughter's friend. Since then I have become a regular. I love the ocean faring and seaport ambiance. I frequent the Riverside location but have been to the Onterio Mills location as well. Both warm and inviting with beautiful decor. The walls decorated with large sports fish and art from all seaports. You really are transported to some coastal tavern. The menu has a broad range of fish selections. I challenge myself and others to try something different any visit. I love that they offer Manhattan style clam chowder. You can get New England chowder anywhere. So Saterday I took my mother to lunch. We were attended to by miss Kaylee she did an exemplary job seeing to our table and needs. Even when I was apprehensive about asking about the lettuce in their salad. Due to the recent Salinas lettuce scare. She assured us they uphold the strictest quality. I can't praise them more. Just an additional post on Good Friday 04-15-22 I ate my end of lent dinner. I ordered the Fisherman's stew. Wow what a soup! I whole heartedly recommend this to any adventurous eater. You will not be disappointed. Great job MB.Peace
We dined on a Monday night, Labor Day and we're fortunate not to need to battle a crowd (lots of people may have been cooking out due to the holiday). Have eaten at this location several times and have always been treated well. The food is good and consistently prepared from one visit to the next. My wife enjoyed the Mai Tai she ordered. Looking forward to going back next time we are in Riverside.
Excellent meal. Stopped in for lunch because they had oysters and calamari. I had the Monday special, salmon and shrimp. Was grilled perfectly. The cheesey mashed potatoes and rice pilaf were excellent. Fresh bread and the creme brulee desert were wonderful. Service was outstanding. 2 thumbs up.
I had dinner on Saturday at MB ontario, yesterday Sunday I went to dinner on this MB. Interestingly food were more abundant. There was a problem, wife asked her steak well done it it was medium rare. I asked my steak medium well and was ok, as we're really hungry and didn't want to wait for extra cooking time, just switch steaks. When the waitress, Megan came and informed told us to take the steaks back to .ore grill time ut we decline to it. Later, the manager came to our table and ask us for anything wrong. I informed him about the problem and he gently offer us a free desert. That was Bruce and we feel satisfied.
Very good sea food. A little bit pricey, but really good. Tried the halibut and their apetizer plate. Very good.
OK first of all this picture does not do this plate justice. Nicole was my server and she was amazing it was a busy night and I was watching as she waited every table she had with promptness kindness attentiveness and patience. The fillet I ordered was probably the best fillet I’ve ever had it was perfectly cooked. The crab legs were also cooked to perfection. The clam chowder was amazing and the atmosphere was laid-back. If someone ever had a bad experience here it had to of been an off day because this place was absolutely amazing and the price for the quality of a meal that I received was absolutely affordable. I live almost 4 hours away and was here on business but I would definitely come back just for this meal. Alex or Jose I’m not sure which one made my meal and they absolutely deserve around of applause because it was cooked with experience and a passion for what they do.
The service was incredible, each and every person working there was so happy to assist us. Our water glasses were refilled each time before they were even half empty was just one of the reasons that made this experience incredible. Amazing service will always makes my experience better. I ordered the Seafood stew and asked if I could substitute the linguini for potatoes. Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! I highly recommend this to anyone craving seafood. My gf ordered surf and turf and ate her entire steak. She said it was incredible as well. Thank you for the amazing experience.
I have to say Casey our server was amazing, very attentive and he has excellent customer service. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great, and it is wheel chair accessible. The lobster Ravioli has a delicious creamy sauce. The chicken in the Alfredo was so tender. Casey recommended me to go for the cheese potatoes for the create your own dish meal, and I 👏 him, very yummy. I will be coming here again!
We have a great meal every time..our service has always been exceptional @ MB in Riverside. Quality and consistency over the years
Great small town feeling. Friendly staff and great happy hour specials. Try the Smoked Old Fashioned!
I have up meat for Lent so here we are. The maji tacos are so good and don’t get me started on the fresh bread. Maggie for firs with Mac and cheese and she is not complaining. I love the freshness of the meal. You can tase the difference between frozen and fresh. This is our go to when we want local fresh sea food.
Market broiler of Riverside is a GEM. The quality and taste of the food justifies the prices greatly. They are doing specials right now for King Crab and steak!! The king crab was fantastic and fresh, Seriously go now if your have not tried it yet! The new york you can tell is higher then normal quality and also fantastic and highly recommend! Also had the best Crem brulee! Charlie was very polite and knowledgeable of the restaurant and top notch server! Very friendly and brought everything out promptly and my food was nice and hot. Drinks always filled! Best service in a very long time which is rare in today's world! Thanks Again! If you're local in the area and would love a great place to eat everything from steaks to seafood Market Broiler is what you've been searching for!
Came in today with my family. We were sat right away. Our server was Olufemi and she was amazing. She was great with our kids and with us. We had a slight issue with a food item and the manger Sam came over right away and fixed the issue. Both our server and manager were very genuine about the issue and resolved it. Some of the best customer service we’ve experienced in a long time. Thank you for making our experience amazing.
1st time at this location. Great service, delicious food! I had the Fisherman's Stew and I must say it's my new favorite dish!! Its was very satisfying!👍 Also the manager they would honor my free birthday gift from Market Broiler rewards program even though it expired about a week ago, that was really cool, Thank you Sir! If you like delicious seafood you owe it to spoil yourself to eat here. Also be sure to take home some Delicious sourdough bread you can bake in you own oven, its devine! Definitely coming back for more👌🦞🦀🦐🦑🐟🐚
As usual the service was great we had outside sitting. I had , for the first time the salmon oscar . Center cut salmon topped with lobster crab cake, cheese potatoes and grilled asparagus.DELICIOUS. My husband had the Wild Alaskan King Crab legs with cheese potatoes and vegetables which happened to be asparagus. Fantastic dinner.
This is still one of the all time. Great restaurants here in riverside. It has not changed a bit in a long time. Maybe added a few menu items. But the preparation and the food is so good. It's tasty, my wife, my son and I come here about every 2 months and every time we come. It is better than the time before it seems. If you have not been here. I suggest you need to get here if you like seafood at all. They also have fresh seafood in the ice case at the front so you can take some home and cook it. Do not forget the clam chowder and my son will tell you. The oysters are awesome.
The best and freshest seafood I've ever had!! My husband and I visited Market Broiler Restaurant in Riverside CA and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I am very picky especially when it comes to eating Seafood especially if it smells fishy! I won't eat it!! That being said nothing I ate at Market Broiler was fishy, it was all fresh and tasty! We went for lunch so we ordered light. We ordered there sushi rolls with the asparagus in the middle of it. We also ordered some of their Ceviche tacos which were amazing and then some of their poke it was so yummy!! IIf you like sushi these rolls were phenomenal!! It was a great lunch and we will definitely be back!! 🤗 A+++ Updated with a few more photos. Updated again on 11/23/18 Wanted to show how yummy the Ahi tuna poke tacos & what's left of the
Dined in on a busy Friday night. The sizzling Chilean Sea Bass was flaky melt-in-your-mouth just as the description read, perfectly paired with asparagus and cheese potatoes. The Pan seared Alaska Halibut was served to perfection. The lemon butter sauce with capers was just the right touch for this dish. Wild Alaska King crab was everyone's favorite! 😋
Fresh baked sourdough before your meal. The fish was phenomenal. If you want seafood, this is the place to get it. Sides are delectable. Quite the selection of all food groups.
Always a delicious meal, very satisfying and the server was excellent. I never had to ask for a refill or request more bread as she was taking good care of us. I love how fresh the food was, my Lobster ravioli had very good lobster flavor to it and the sauce is very creamy and subtle. The sushi is very fresh and satisfying, I really love the prawns wrapped in bacon and the slightly sweet sauce it was drizzled across the top.
This is a amazing place for SEAFOOD. I am a seafood lover I eat seafood 2-4 times a week. This was my first time here and I must say everything from beginning until the end was wonderful. I first read the reviews and was pleased with the comments. I made reservations for 8:15 I got there at 8pm and they close at 9pm. The staff was great nice and very friendly as soon as we arrived we were seated within 1min so no wait. After being seated we were greeted and our waitress came to take our drink order. The waitress was great she was happy when we mentioned it was our first visit. She explained the menu and answered every question with pride and knowledge which is great. They made my cocktail exactly how I wanted it and I was being fancy lol. Now to the food we started off with the lobster and crab cakes they were the best I’ve ever had (soft buttery extremely meaty big fat juicy chunks of meat season perfectly). Then the seafood salad it was very good ( big portion a lot of seafood like prawns, lobster, crab, regular shrimp that’s all I can remember) it was very refreshing. I also had a New York steak, the seared halibut with Cajun and lemon pepper seasoning, rice pilaf and loaded red potato. The steak was cooked just like I like it only thing it was kinda small. The HALIBUT was the 2nd highlight of the whole food experience it was amazing I also had Cajun and lemon pepper seasoning that fish was everything and more I want more ASAP. The side taste like it was supposed to the loaded red potato had real bacon that was a win in my books. We also had fried fish it was ok I wouldn’t go here for that. The customer service pulse the amazingly fresh and delicious food I give this place a 9 1/2 out of 10. The fried fish and asking for a refill took the half point. But it was near closing so maybe that’s why. But the food is a hit. Very fresh and flavorful and cooked to perfection. Will be my go to for seafood.
Fresh and Clean seafood. perfectly cooked. Table bread is Top Notch, Drinks were 4/5. Great service.
Food was amazing, I had sea bass. We also had oyster, they were very fresh. It is a very good restaurant with fresh sea food!
Market Broiler is my favorite seafood restaurant in Riverside. We make it a point to stop in when we're in the area. Great food, reasonable prices, and friendly service! The Salmon with Jamaican lime seasoning is excellent!
Let me tell you this place is amazing. The host, the waitress and the atmosphere was very good despite how I was dressed tonight. It was a last min choice. My kids and their dad were dressed for their day and I was wearing sweats. Some places when they see what someone is dressed like they assume and treat people differently. Here they were so kind, they didnt make us feel uncomfortable at all. Waitress was kind and informative. First time going and definitely wont be our last.
Honestly some of the best steak and lobster I have ever eaten. Every bite was to die for. I did the New York steak medium rare for $32 and added a 10oz lobster for $35. My wife did the filet mignon )$34 medium rare both Paired with asparagus and cheesy mashed potatoes. $67 -$69 each. Well worth it. Highly recommended
Great happy hour experience, the food was amazing, my favorite was the Coppino, and they also have a huge selection of cocktails. Their fish and seafood are fresh and delicious. Go for the happy hour and you can save $$$. It’s juggler recommended!
Never a bad meal here. The food is delicious, and always fresh. Their jambalaya is fire. If you've never tried it I highly recommend it. The service is great, always greeted with a smile and kindness.
Great food, reasonably priced for fish. Chef knows how to properly cook fish. Excellent. I had the combo meal, Mahi Mahi with a shrimp skewer. Wife had Trout with a scallops skewer. All were fantastic.
Food was phenomenal. Decided to try the filet with shrimp scampi and it was cooked perfectly - I was pleasantly surprised to have a great steak at a seafood restaurant! Scampi very tasty. A special order was made exactly as requested. Great service from Janet. Great dining choice!
We were seated when all our guests arrived for a birthday celebration. The staff was friendly, helpful, and eager to make our vist an enjoyable one. The entre I ordered was fresh and tasty. Everyone in our party enjoyed there food as well
Was craving clam chowder and this was the perfect place. Their clam chowder is exceptional! And their sourdough bread was the perfect companion. We couldn’t decide what we wanted because everything sounded so good. We tried the sashimi scallops which were so sweet and delicious with the masago and green onion. The half shell oysters were good, but nothing to write home about. We tried the California roll made with real crab and it was good but the rice isn’t right for a roll, but then again, this is t a sushi restaurant so maybe that’s too critical. Lastly, husband had the Harvest of the Sea which was a fantastic mix of fresh seafoods with linguine pasta in marinara. He’s not really a seafood pasta guy, but he really enjoyed it. All in all, delicious food. Clam chowder hit the spot. Took an order to go for lunch tomorrow. 5 stars for the clam chowder.
Welcoming atmosphere, our waiter excels at his job. My water and tea were full and he brought two spoons cause my husband wanted to share a bowl of soup and an appetizer. He frequently checked on us throughout our lunch. The food was hot and delicious . Lovely first time experience, Will visit again, highly recommended.
The food was insanely good! My family and I loved every single thing. We even ordered extra sides of brussel sprouts to go. Steaks were cooked perfectly. This was a last minute choice for a late dinner and we were so pleasantly surprised by the food. The service/ food was really quick and the server was very polite.
We made reservations for 6:30. Qe were seated quickly. Our server was friendly and helpful. It took a minute for them to order our drinks. The sourdough bread was hot and crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside the butter was kind of hard so it took a minute for it to melt on the bread and thank goodness they already pre-cut the bread a little bit so you just have to do the final Cut and then try and spread the butter on it. I put butter slices between the pieces that were still together so it would melt. I ordered the parmesan crusted halibut with cheesy potatoes, charred asparagus and herbed spinach. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Yes, I said it. It was a perfect plate. I don't say that often, but it was. My husband got the New York steak well done. He luckily gave me a bite of it before he defiled it with A1 steak sauce. I really enjoyed my dinner. Wish I had enough room for dessert, but for the first time in a long time, I actually finished my plate so, no doggy bag. I would definitely go back and recommend.
Market Broiler was a "random" restaurant that I picked to meet friends. The waitstaff was wonderful. The bread that was offered was yummy! We ordered the following: 1) The seafood pasta dish with scallops, calamari, mussels, and shrimp. Very tasty! 2) The sea bass with asparagus and cheese potatoes - a winner! 3) Wedge salad with the bacon wrapped prawns. (The salad, very good and prawns were good- but not as tasty as we have had in other restaurants.). All in all the dinner was enjoyable and delicious. Thank you.
Was in the area due to a work conference. Group of colleagues hit up this seafood place for Happy Hour. Table pic of food were all from Happy Hr menu and had HUGE portions for almost half the price (I checked the next day and it was almost half off for seafood!). Food was delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive. It was so good a couple of us went back the next day and ordered dinner to go! Snapper and clam chowder were amazing- comes in pint or quart and one whole round sourdough bread. We ate it before we remembered to take pics. You can see and taste the clams in the chowder. Thick type clam chowder, not watered down like at other places. Lots of locations in SoCal, but variety may vary. Also took pics of the fresh seafood display case while we waited for the takeout on our way home!
It's good food ..I would say its like an upscale red lobster ..the sauce with the crab cake and salmon was went good together ...mashed potatoes was excellent ...the only thing I didnt like was the waitress who took to long to get us our check (15 min) we were I such an hurry to be somewhere but everything else was great
Market Broiler has been a long time favorite. Disappointed we had to sit outside because of our party of seven because of Covid. This was particularly difficult with someone in our party that is handicapped and had to navigate eating on the side of a picnic table. Didn't work well 😞 Maybe we'll check out the Ontario location next time with a large party. Our food was good! Served promptly with a smile.
Love this location. Food alone is fresh and delicious... I believe I had the seared mango ahi, a dozen of the oysters. Oysters were a little too big for my liking but nonetheless they were tasty. The ahi was perfect, too much rice in my opinion. Service is good, the poor kid I got must have just started, forgot a few things here and there but he was trying- the effort was good! No knock on the kid, very pleasant like the entire staff usually is. Drinks are always strong and very presentable. Overall it’s a great place to eat some good food and enjoy a night out.
So I enjoyed my meal here. Had the flaming seabass which literally comes out sizzling on a small skillet. It was delish! Others had the Jambalaya with rice and another sushi roll and both were excellent. Calamari and shrimp cocktail were both tasty. Only problem was the fish and chips. Came out with soggy crust, mushi fish and very oily like it was sitting around for a very long time.
I love the surf and turf from this place. Our waitress was okay 👍 but so busy I had to stop and ask her for bread 🥖, water etc. I would have given them 5 ⭐️. The food gets 4 stars ⭐️ and made up for the semi bad service! Love the fresh bread, clam chowder and lobster 🦞 is cooked perfectly!
Rather good food but a bit expensive (I didn't say overpriced) We had 3 appetizers: Lobster-Crab Cakes (quite good), Spicy Salmon Sushi Roll (eh..) and Coconut Shrimp (can't go wrong). Three things noteworthy: Jambalaya was very good but a tad mild; The Fisherman Stew was good but it seemed like a lot of scraps, shrimp &lobster way overcooked, and the crab was in the steamer 4 hours too long; and the Harvest of the Sea was very good, but again shrimp were overcooked. Bread was great, service was OK... For $270 tab for 4 could have been a bit more professional, and if you can't remember write it down.
I had the snapper and veracruz shrimp. Food was tasty my only issue was I believed my plate was loaded with carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. Very limited shrimp and fish for the cost. Service was awesome.
Great time here. We had the lobster ravioli, salmon ceasar, prawns, the seafood pasta (marinara sauce one), king crab and the butter cake. Everything was tasty. The only downside is that the crab legs were rubbery. You could definitely tell they had been frozen for awhile before being served. Service was great! Jacquie was super nice.
Service wasn’t the best, I’m giving a small pass as we were a big party of 10+ people , but The food was okay. The bread and drinks were delayed in delivery to our party, other tables that arrived after us were assisted before us. I will potentially try again with a smaller party. The Cajun salmon was nicely seasoned. The clam chowder had a great flavor paired amazing with the sourdough bread. The Nashville chicken sandwich was perfectly seasoned only thing that could have made it better was more of the amazing sauce placed a bit on top of the chicken.( ask for a side of sauce ) The bartender definitely know how to make an expresso martini but substitute for tequila! The jambalaya definitely has a heavy tomato sauce flavor and not a strong spice. The shrimp scampi had a great butter garlic sauce. The pricing of most items and entrees were definitely fair to portion sizes.
Tonight’s meal turned out to be sooo much better than I had feared. I travel a lot and often the restaurants do not live up to expectations. But tonight everything I had was delicious and service was great. I had fried Mahi mahi tacos and local beet salad and a smoked cedar old fashioned. I also had a butter cake for desert. It was all (except the cake) off of the happy hour menu. I ended up packing 1/2 of it all away for lunch tomorrow - score!! I’d ask for the dressing on the side for the beet salad and forgo the cake the next time- but it’s telling that I am already planning my return trip. Katelynne was a super waitress. I didn’t mind that I had to pay with a debit card to avoid a service charge because they bring the payment device (whatever you call those) to you to make the payment rather than taking your card into the back room to run it through (I hate that!) Ambiance is Ok- cute for a casual diner but a bit loud and not private for a romantic dinner.
I thought the food was pretty good but not quite great. Our service person was really friendly and attentive. The chowder was pretty good and the bread was very good .I would probably visit again and try another dish.
I’ve driven past Market Broiler in Riverside so many times and finally decided to stop in today. The restaurant felt cozy and welcoming, and the service was genuinely friendly. The clam chowder was the highlight—it honestly made me feel like I was in Seattle. While the fish and chips were decent, they could use a little improvement to really match the rest of the experience. Overall, a pleasant visit and I’d definitely come back to try more items on the menu.
My wife and I are frequent customers for MB. Usually are meals on point with our selections. Unfortunately tonight our meals did not align with past visits. My wife ordered the pan seared halibut and I ordered the filet mignon. Both of our meals were not cooked at all. Which is not a major mistake. Issues come up from time to time.... I feel going out to be far more costly then in the past... Due to that people are willing to pay for the increase in the cost. I feel the restaurant should be raising the level of customer service for their customers. Server and Manager apologized. Which was a nice concession to the issue. The head chef came out and validated the meals were cooked to perfection. Which was a nice touch on his behalf. I feel since both meals were extremely undercooked one of the meals should have been comped. At the very minimum the drinks should have been comped. We had a glass of wine and soda. Manager did offer a dessert. Which I feel is a basic offering. Just to be fair this was one moment. So it's not going to deter us from going back. Only issue is MB raising their level of customer service. Food is 9/10 on par with delivering a quality meal. Stop by I'm sure you will be happy with your choice.
I had been hearing that this place has good Bloody Mary's so I stopped by for some drinks and appetizers. I had a clam chowder which was delicious, half a dozen oysters which were good and two drinks. The bloody was top notch, one of the best bloody Marys I have had in a long time. The other drink was a pineapple mezcal drink which was okay. Nothing special. The waiter on the other hand was friendly and so helpful. I appreciated the service. I will be back to try some of the main dishes. I spent around $70 for two drinks, soup and half a dozen oysters.
The sourdough bread is awesome as a starter. We then had the clam chowder which was also very good. My wife had the Honey Walnet Shrimp Bowl which she said was really good. I had the lunch specials fish and chips which I did not enjoy. My wife also tried them and found them bland. The waitress said they were a very popular item so maybe it was just us. The waitress was very professional and understanding. She took the Fish and Chips off the bill and brought me a complimentary cup of clam chowder. The dining area was clean and not very loud. I'm not sure I will go back, but I wouldn't dissuade anyone else from giving it a try.
Ordered fish and chips one was the lunch special and one was regular, man if the fish portions get any smaller I will have to eat more bread and that is not a good thing!
Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Had their Wednesday Salmon special. Salmon tasted very fishy and not impressed w/ the side veggies (squash onion zucchini mix). My friend had shrimp and snow crab (which he absolutely loved). Stuffed mushroom appetizer was great! Giving rating based on my meal. Would come again but not pick the salmon.
The food at Broiler was lovely, every member of my party very much enjoyed it and we are taking what remains home to eat tomorrow. However, it seemed like the restaurant did not have enough servers, as it took ours (who was very welcoming) an abnormally long time to come back around to our table, and seemed hurried when she did. The restaurant has a fish tank in the front directly behind the service counter, and while the fish looked exotic and themed to the restaurant, the tank appeared quite small for the five fish in it, and there were only fake plants and sterilized coral in the tank, with little to no hiding spots for the larger fish. This restaurant deserves a 4.5, but reluctantly I have given it a three for the aforementioned details.
We went there for lunch in the middle of the day. There were not a lot of people, but the service was very slow. I got the tuna ahi. It came with so much sauce on the top that I could not taste the tuna, so I would recommend telling them to put the sauce on the side- see picture. There is a parking lot as well as off street parking. Bathrooms were clean. Staff were pleasant.
If you're hungry or you want to get your money's worth do not order the fish and chips it looks like it's for a child the pieces of fish are about the size of a chicken nugget and then they give you a very small amount of tartar sauce maybe a tablespoon and then when you ask for more she says oh extra tartar sauce No it's not extra it's the amount that's normal for four pieces of fish not one tiny little thing that's enough for one maybe Also got a quart of clam chowder to go probably cost me 20 bucks but that's okay they're clam chowder is good but they give you two big things of bread with it with one tiny little thing of butter that's enough for two slices of bread when there's six to eight slices of bread Also the waiter ordered my clam chowder gave it to me and served me and everything and then when I asked for it to go container he gave me a cardboard box for soup
The lady that sat us was super sweet, greeted us and even held a nice quick convo on our way to the table. The customer service was great, we were served by a young new girl named Erica. She was nice and pleasent, answered all questions and the questions she didn't know the answer to she had no problem with double checking. She started us off with sourdough bread and butter. I immediately knew it was sourdough (which I'm not a fan of) due to the sour taste soon as I took the first bite, it was sent back right away. The food was tasteless, and the portions was super small. The skewers was cooked to perfection, however again, it was also still tasteless and kind of sour, I had to double salt all my food and still made it home to cook something fulfilling. The price for the small portions was giving me michellien restaurant vibes. 2/10 will not be back again.
Market Broiler Resturant. Riverside Reviewed date 3-12-22 Four out of five thumbs down 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 Consistently Bad Service, Small Portions, High Prices. The only reason why they did not get five thumbs down is that The restaurant has good parking, appears to be clean, and has a nice ambience. After being seated, my first greeting by the waiter was him briskly coming up from behind me too slam down a heavy glass cup on the table right next to my arm so hard that the people at the table next to me jumped He then walked away to come back five minutes later to pour warm tapwater into the cup I guess they have something against ice, I asked the waiter if I could have a large glass of ice to go with my water he told me yes but never returned with any ice. When the waiter returned to take my order he did not have a pen or pencil or paper to write it down. He had to ask me to repeat my order two more times this was not a good sign as a pen and paper are such a simple remedy to the problem, I felt right away that most likely the order would be coming out wrong and sure enough it did. This young man would make a better linebacker on a football team than a waiter in a restaurant, Bad memory short attention span not good with details and preoccupied with something. Before the food could be brought out to me the waiter came over and introduced another young female and said that she would be taking care of my needs that he was leaving for the evening and would not be returning, however continue to take care of other customers around me the entire time I was there. The female waitress seem to be more attentive but disappeared and didn’t come back for quite some time. After about 20 minutes my food was finally brought out to me however the order was wrong. I had ordered a create your own combo with two items, item 1, Mahi-Mahi, item 2, Bacon wrapped scallops, I added a 3rd item, add an additional cost of eight dollars for golden fried shrimp, The two side dishes were coleslaw and chefs choice mixed vegetables. What I received; 2 1/2 ounce Mahi-Mahi extremely tough and cold to the touch Four pieces of “coconut shrimp” Not golden fried shrimp, at an additional cost of eight dollars.. One skewer scallops with bacon The scallops were so small you might call them bay scallops with bacon bits The coleslaw portion was extremely small and the flavor certainly was not traditionally sweet or even tasty The portion size of the mixed vegetables was also extremely small. No one ever removed one dirty dish off of the table in the entire time I was there. I was presented with a bill with a undisclosed “5% surcharge snuck into The bill”. This was not even appropriate during Covid times and Covid is over. Total bill before Tip $35.95. 👎🏼 Overall I would have to rate the experience as very poor When I go to a restaurant and service is repeatedly poor as in this case I do not blame the employees as this shows that management is not doing a good job in choosing the right employees or in properly cm training the employees. I have included a picture of the meal that I paid $35 for as you can see the food portions are extremely small for the price and when you throw in the bad service and poor quality of food and preparation it’s just not worth it. Sadly I believe Market Broiler‘s glory days are over!!! I have been a loyal customer since Market Broilers beginning, they have had difficulties every since their remodel and re-branding. Unless they can turn things around I don’t believe I’ll be coming back. 🙁
Went for dinner here recently, food didn't come out till hour later, very disappointed in the way we were treated, should have went the market broiler at Ontario Mills or cheesecake factory has always treated us well.
Hi my senior parents had a reservation for Valentine’s Day, this is their experience, my father just had back surgery, their reservations was at 5:30, seated at 5:40, they didn’t get their food till 6:40, a whole hour, while everyone around them was getting their food, my mom ordered the half rack of crab and cheese potatoes, my father ordered Filet mignon with cheese potatoes and asparagus, everyone else around is ordering around the same, steak and fish, there’s no reason my 71 old father had to Waite that long for his food, maybe someone forgot to put their order in, very disappointed with how my parents were treated. 0 stars for this.
I could have pulled fish and french fries out of my own freezer ordered fish and chips came straight out of the freezer into the deep fryer on to the plate cost $20 a plate the staff was kind but nothing outstanding so I say goodbye to market broiler in Riverside Ca. Tuesday January 27,2026
I got the NY steak for $45. Don’t do it, just go somewhere else if you want a steak. Marie’s across the way would probably be better, and I know I’ve had a better one at Norms. This was my first time visiting a Market Broiler. I ordered my steak medium rare, but the steak I received was medium well. Not only was it overcooked, but the well-done part was a significant band around the whole steak. The asparagus was untrimmed and unpeeled. It was very fibrous, and while I haven’t eaten tree bark, one might associate the hard exterior of the spears with that. A chimichurri sauce was promised...I did not receive that. Instead, I got some kind of wine-reduction sauce, and I can’t say I appreciated it. I was able to swap the cheesy mash for some red potatoes, and they were the highlight of the meal. Normally that would probably be the bread, but it was so hard I nearly cracked a tooth. Overall, I understand this is a seafood restaurant. I live nearby and just wanted to try a new spot. I don’t understand why you’d include something on the menu if you can’t execute it properly. Probably not coming back, and based on my experience, I would not recommend. P.S. Your seafood case needs to be cleaned, it’s covered in water spots. A little vinegar will take that right off.
I left a glowing review for this restaurant about a year ago, but after visiting again two days ago, I’m honestly shocked at how far it’s fallen. I ordered the bass with lemon caper sauce, cheese mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The asparagus was cooked decently, but that’s about the only good thing I can say. The potatoes were dry and flavorless, the fish came out cold, and the sauce had hardened like it had been sitting out for a while. Overall — a complete zero. My fiancée ordered the lobster tail and steak with roasted potatoes and asparagus. Once again, the asparagus was passable, but the rest was a disaster. The potatoes tasted boiled and bland, the steak was mostly fat and clearly reheated, and the lobster tail was chewy like a stick of gum with absolutely no flavor. By the end of the meal, we were just hoping we wouldn’t end up with food poisoning. This was a far cry from the great experience we had before. Whatever changed here, it’s not for the better. Stay away from this establishment at all costs. Honestly, someone like John Taffer from Bar Rescue needs to step in and fix this mess.
