Great food, service and atmosphere! If you’re in Hell Kitchen, do yourself a favor and go to Aria.
Loveliest experience we’ve had at a restaurant since I can’t remember when! The food was absolutely delish, and the service was beyond impeccable!! All the staff was SO attentive, including the manager (owner?), who went to great lengths to make sure we were comfortable, happy, and taken care of. He went to great lengths to check in on us (and the rest of the guests!) regularly, and even made us little espresso martinis as a special treat. The whole experience was SO good, that Aria’s will be on our agenda every single time we visit the fair city of New York. We visit at least once a year and will never miss an opportunity to return to Aria’s…and to tell our friends to dine there, as well!! THANK YOU for such a lovely meal and experience. We are so grateful. P.S. My cocktail, a Rob Roy, was YUUUUUUUMMY!!!
we were not sure where to go as an out of towner or after seeing a Broadway show. I bumped into Mark outside of the restaurant. He was so charming and showed me the menu. we are very particular about where we eat. the food was fantastic. The ambience was 5+. we enjoyed the covered porch out front that was well heated, We travel extensively through various cities. We could actually say that the octopus salad was the best we’ve ever had and the lamb chop was also one of the best we’ve ever had
Great atmosphere, fabulous bread & olive oil. Crab cake spot on. Lasagne and cremini risotto absolutely delicious!!
Everything about this experience was amazing - the food was divine, drinks are perfect, and the servers made us feel like family. We came on a sunny day and sat outside and the servers were very attentive. Would definitely come back here. We got aperol spritzes, the burrata with prosciutto, and the meatballs and everything was great!
I came here thinking it was wine and tapas from South Africa as the description states but found that this is an Italian tapas wine restaurant. Thankfully I love Italian and the food certainly didn't disappoint! Everything is very well priced and they have a good selection of tapas dishes to choose from. Will come back again soon!
Wow! We just enjoyed the best dinner! Seriously one of the best meals and dining experience we have had in a long time. Mark welcomed us and provided excellent recommendations. Lamb and risotto - get it - amazing! Everything from drinks and wine, prosciutto appetizer, lamb ragu, lamb risotto, cheesecake = perfection. Service was spot on. Not one flaw. Thank you for an enjoyable evening!
Recently held a birthday dinner here for a group of 18, and everything was perfect from start to finish! The staff was incredibly accommodating with our large group, the service was impeccable the entire evening, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything came out in a timely manner—no long waits, even with so many of us. Highly recommend for both small and large gatherings!
The ambiance of this place was great! The servers were very attentive and friendly. I had the burrata and prosciutto appetizer and it was delicious! The cheese was fresh and flavorful and the prosciutto was soft. The bolognese pasta was also very flavorful, the pasta was cooked perfectly and chewy. Totally recommend giving this place a try!
The service was amazing, the octopus salad was amazing and I also had one of the best Linguine Vongole ever
I would give this place 6 starts if I could. I came here on a first date on a Sunday afternoon, and it could not have been better. Great people and ambience, staff was friendly, food was excellent, and the owner, Mark made the perfect espresso martini. We’ll be coming back to Aria for a long time.
If you looking for great menu recommendations, a fun atmosphere, amazing food, and impeccable service, COME HERE. A lovely experience from beginning to hand. The best place in Hells Kitchen! Ask for Mark.
We went on a Wednesday nite @ 7:30. Food, service, and atmosphere were amazing. One of our best dining experiences!!!! Felt like we were back in Italy. Highly recommend.
The food is amazing and authentically Italian. The staff is fun and attentive. The vibe is on point. Highly recommend.
What an amazing experience! Me and my sister wound up in here by accident, however, what a great accident. The place has a great vibe, is very intimate, have a nice selection of wine, the menu has just enough options to enjoy a great 3-4 course meal. We went for the bolognese tagliatelle and pesto fettuccine that were delicious! For appetizers we got the caprese salad and the garlic shrimp and for dessert we got the tiramisu and chocolate soufflé. And the service was outstanding from our waitress Sara, to the manager! Definitely going back!
Stopped in for lunch today. I live in Philly now but this used to be one of go to spots. It’s still greats and fabulous. Great high ceilings, open air on nice days and great vibe. Love the food and very reasonable prices for NYC. And service is top notch. Very attentive and personable. Highly recommend. I miss living near this place.
It was a quick dinner hop-in hop-out kinda Wednesday night around 7pm. Place was relatively packed. We sat at the bar and got served immediately with water, bread and menus. I had fungi pasta with truffle oil, it was delicious and quite generous portion btw. My dinner partner had pork chops and tuna nicoise salad, both were great!
Aria continues to outdo itself. From the intimate vibes inside (always has a great playlist going) to the delicious wine and food - it never misses. The manager, Mark, and the service staff are incredible. $19 authentic Italian pasta! You don’t come across that often in NYC. My go-to spot.
You can always tell when the owner is present in the restaurant and Aria is no exception. The tapas comes in larger portions than you might expect. Everything was delicious, from the octopus to the pasta. Definitely want to go back and highly recommend.
Had an amazing experience at Aria Hell’s Kitchen! The service was excellent—timely, attentive, and so much fun. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, and their energy made the evening even better. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Overall, a wonderful spot with great vibes—I’ll definitely be back!
Best service in New York! Waiters, manager, chef and all staff were so kind and put their customers first. Highly recommend! When back in New York I will be coming back!! If I could give 10/10 I would. Come with an empty stomach and an open heart
We have been scouring our credit card receipts trying to find this place we visited 2 years ago-( my son had the gnocchi last time and has been talking about it ever since. It was all he wanted for his 16th birthday.) It’s SO good! We had the Gnocchi and the octopus salad. Both incredible. I cannot understand why it’s not five star reviews all the way. Such memorable food and leagues better than the other restaurants close by. Probably coming back again this week. Absolutely love this place.
I had the best evening here. The eggplant parmesean was too good to be true. The wine was crisp and satisfying. The pasta was truly unparalleled, and the sauce was truly boss. Host was amazing. Broke a glass and they came back with more wine. Will be coming back again soon.
I decided to have dinner on December 31 at this restaurant after having toured like 4 restaurants in the city. It was a spectacular dinner, I was alone and they made me feel like family. It is one of those places that you should not miss if you go to ny. Very local people, nice people and better servers cannot be.
We went as a party of 12 for my sisters bachelorette. Food was AMAZING and service was top notch. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time and food came out super fast. Vibes were amazing. Highly recommend!
The truffle gnocchi is really good, catrina is nice and kind! also I love the drinks as well! higly recommend this place
Just happened across this place- no reservation but able to sit at the bar. Loved the atmosphere, the food, and the wine! Crab cakes were sensational. We were going to the Cher Show at the Neil Simon Theatre and were taken care of in a timely manner. Highly pleased with our experience!
Aria is my midtown west choice of go to place! Yes, I used to live on the west side , just around the corner and I would frequently visit here. The food is to die for . No , not kidding , I am a big fan of tapas and small dishes which is exactly what they serve here . Mesmerizing presentation and delicious food , you will be delighted! The menu is consistent and my favorites are the lamb chops, the shrimp and the boar meat ragu with pasta or polenta . Either way, you won't go wrong . The service is pleasant and attentive , my glass is never left empty. Oh , did I mentioned the drinks and the wines ? Variety and good prices , stop here and enjoy the atmosphere , food and service! A tourist , or a local , Aria has your back ! Anyway, a resident of more than 10 years , I have my favorite spots in town and this is one of them. Thanks Aria !
Good and service were incredible! High quality wine. Love the gluten free options and offers of recipe Dario a. Great vibes and experience.
I have walked by this place for years and finally tried it out last month. I have now been coming 3x a week. The food is absolutely delicious. The drinks are great. The staff is super friendly! The manager, Mark, is a gem. I have been promoting this place to all my family and friends. Last night, I held my cousin’s 40th birthday dinner at Aria. My entire family left that dinner praising their food, atmosphere and service. Aria is a go-to when in Hells Kitchen.
An awesome restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. The manager, Mark, is very accommodating and the food & wine is excellent. No canola or soybean oil. Italian healthy and yummy cooking. I recommend the octopus salad, calamari, arugula and feta salad as well and the truffle gnocchi. Thanks for a lovely lunch!
Came here 8 years ago with my girlfriend as part of our first trip together. We came back with our 3 kids in our first family NYC trip and it did not dissapoint. Needless to say we love the place, the service is attentive, friendly and genuinely italian.
For a little tiny space in the side of a building, the food was fantastic. The service was great. We went for dinner and the place is a little dark so my eyes had a hard time seeing the menu in my middle age status, lol. Lots of wines to choose from and the lemonade was like lemons squeezed into a cup. Man, that was bitter but still not too bad. Overall, a good place to visit but I would make a reservation because seating is limited.
Loved the wine, food, and service here! The presentation and taste of everything we ordered was amazing, especially the eggplant appetizer dish (I would return just to eat this again with a glass of wine)! The waiters were also very attentive and kept clearing out used plates and glasses promptly and checking if we wanted to order more. We spent more than 4 hours there!
We were headed to another place, but Aria's outdoor seating and atmosphere was so inviting. The mango goat cheese salad was incredible; very thinly sliced mango delicately arranged around a bed of greens topped with a circle of goat cheese that was crisp on the outside, but soft on the inside. The special on the 4th was a flat homemade noodle with lamb in sauce with a crisp sprig of rosemary. Each bite was melt in your mouth incredible along with a glass of red that the waiter recommended. Tiramisu that was fluffy and creamy made for a perfect end to our meal. The staff were welcoming, polite and attentive, and yet gave us plenty of privacy to enjoy our meal. This will be without a doubt the best Italian meal I will eat in the next 10 years.
My friend and I wandered in here for dinner and had the most wonderful time. Mark was such a treat from beginning to end and made phenomenal recommendations. The minestrone, kale salad, truffle mashed potatoes, and lobster ravioli were out of this world!! We will absolutely be back this summer!
attention is very good, waiters very kind and empathetic. the local is very nice visually, with warm lights that characterize the atmosphere. finally, the food is incredible for its value. great pasta dishes.
What a great find! Owner went above and beyond to accommodate our large party of12. Food was absolutely delicious. Wine was amazing and very well priced. Highly recommend, great atmosphere! We will definitely be back.
Service was attentive, everyone cared. The food was fresh and flavorful. Best meatballs we've had! Excellent homemade pasta dishes and wine. Perfect for pre show dinner!
Amazing appetizer selection for sharing with a group before a night at the theater— we loved the pear salad, burrata, and grilled octopus special. I ordered linguine with clams for my main, which was a perfectly sized portion (not too big and heavy). The atmosphere was cozy on a cold winter night, and I’m glad to recommend it as a great option before a show!
Standout spot in Hell’s Kitchen. Came here for a bachelorette party with 12 girls, the staff went above and beyond to make our night incredible. The food was authentic Italian, made in house and fresh, and the atmosphere was lovely. Above all, the amazing staff and owner is what made our experience unforgettable. Do not hesitate to come here.
Mark was amazing!! My friend and I stumbled in after a broadway show and were greeted by Mark right away. He gave fabulous recommendations and we enjoyed chatting with him between courses. The minestrone soup and kale salad were two of my favorite things we ordered!! We can’t wait to come back and try more pasta dishes. We also ordered the lobster ravioli and they were to die for. Thank you Aria & Mark!!
Discovered a pleasant Italian restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. If you want to avoid the high prices and tourist traps around Times Square, this is a great alternative. They offer a generous selection of pasta dishes, along with a nice range of red and white wines by the glass. Some of them were from Tuscan estates I already knew. Prices are reasonable, the evening lighting is very pleasant, and the atmosphere feels warm and cosy. Greatly recommended!
We came down from Boston and spent a fantastic Saturday night sitting at the bar. My wife rated the macaroni and cheese was as the best she’s ever had and the risotto with the lamb shank was a special treat. Beyond the tasty food, the welcoming environment and terrific service made it a great night out. Highly recommended!
We were part of a large group that had dinner here on Valentine’s Day. To start off we were seated right away. The owner promptly came to our table and greeted us. The restaurant was thoughtfully decorated for Valentine’s Day, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Everything was clean and comfortable. We had an array of orders at our table from the lamb to the lasagna and the Bolognese. Everything was delicious and well presented. The owner gave us wine suggestions and we loved all the his recommendations. This will definitely be one of our go to places when we are back in town.
This was such an amazing experience. My mother and I went Aria due to a recommendation from one of her friends and had the most amazing time. We went as a late lunch/early dinner prior to a Broadway show. We both ended up getting two different risotto dishes as our entrees, from the specials that night, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. As for our appetizer, we order a burrata and prosciutto dish. Our dessert I have attached a photo of. The service was great and we left smiling.
Aria Hell's Kitchen is a full song of excellent ambience, cuisine, and service. Owner, Mark, and his staff welcome you in like you're having an old European family dinner. The mango goat cheese salad special was flavorful and refreshing, and the bolognese was phenomenal. Especially recommend the lasagna, and the tiramusu finished dinner off in the best way possible. Gorgeous setting and excellent recommendations from the staff. Grazie!
Came here on a Wednesday night for dinner before a show. Lovely, intimate and cozy atmosphere. Great decor and lighting. Service was fantastic. We ordered off the specials and started with cauliflower soup with shrimp. This was the best soup I’ve ever had. Very generous portions, could have been a meal. The lasagna and sauce were delicious. Another pasta dish was good as well. Warm bread and dipping oil was served before meal. Two glasses of wine. All coming to a very reasonable price for a high quality meal. Would definitely go back!
Amazing atmosphere and service. Such a cozy environment for a winter day. The manager is takes personal interest in the diners which makes the place even more welcoming. The rest of the staff are all wonderful, fast, and friendly. All the food is freshly made and is terrific!! 5/5.
Every time we come here we have an excellent experience. There is no bad choice on the menu. The rotating specials are delicious and the pasta staples never fail. Mark and team are so warm and friendly. He came by to make conversation and check on how we were doing throughout the night. Cannot recommend enough!
Perfect place to feel at home and well taken care of with ‘out of this world’ Italian food. I asked fora “fruit fwd” red wine and I don’t even know what I have but it’s perfect. The bread is very difficult to stop dunking it in the oil and the Bolognese is one of the best I could imagine. I’m sold. The rustic fun vibe is warm, inviting and the staff really cares. Love it.
This is the most delious and delightful atmosphere. In fact I loved it so much after my first visit I spent time looking on google maps to refine it just to take my husband on a return trip. They have a gluten free pasta option, the appetizers were fantastic and can we pause to speak about the ricotta cheesecake!!! It deserves its own review it’s so amazing.
Nice cosy little place in Hells Kitchen. Shared plates were excellent. Octopus bruscetta was severed with an amazing fresh pesto and the tomato mozzarella pictured was perfect. The only reason this is not a 5 star was the pasta dishes. While they were decently flavorful, I came here expecting fresh house made pasta. What I got was chewy gnocchi and chalky orecchiette. Desserts were nice and helped keep this at 4 stars. Italian wine selection was decent.
We ran by this restaurant in Hells Kitchen late at night, during our stay in NY in March 2016. The staff is friendly and helpful and found us a spot at the bar. The location is rustic, cosy and romantic. They have a great selection of Italian wines. The food is fresh and delicious. Good value for money.
Staff are so lovely and the pasta is to die for! I had the lobster ravioli (tortellioni d’aragosta) and it was delicious, my only complaint about the dish is there wasn’t more!! The toilet (there’s just one) wasn’t quite as fantastic and the lock seemed a bit unreliable, but nicely decorated. The chocolate soufflé was a bit of a let down after the fab pasta and seemed far too heavy, but still very tasty! Definitely a go-to in Hell’s Kitchen and reasonably priced given its proximity to lots of broadway theatres!
Went out for a late dinner after our broadway show. They seated us quickly after checking vaccination card. The place has a very cute decor and the staff is very friendly. I had a glass of montepulciano wine. The wine was really good. I wanted to try another glass of a different wine but the staff was busy so I didn’t get to it. We order the shrimp rigatoni, penne pesto and lamb chops. The shrimp rigatoni was very good but my favorite was penne pesto. The lamb chops were somewhat hard to eat and a little less flavorful than our preference. We ended the meal with some tiramisu and cheescake. Both were phenomenal!
Interesting Italian restaurant that serves Italian tapas-thus very good for sharing. Their pasta are good for one. Food is good and enjoyable. Atmosphere is cozy and service is pleasant and proactive. Wine selection is decent with a small dessert menu of tiramisu, lava cake and affogato etc.
4 stars My reasoning behind that is I called and requested bread , and I didn’t get it. He did call and apologize all good !! I didn’t know you have to request utensils for a delivery order. The pasta was very dry and not alot of sauce. Would have been nice , more sauce. And the bread would have complimented this dish well. I had a better experience dining in. The cheese and walnuts were good , cheese was melted but that was expected. I’ll give this restaurant another try next time. Disappointed.
og ny spot in hells. great pasta and fun specials every night. staff are nice but felt not super well attended to. we went on a friday and it was busy but managed to get a walk in. we got the best salad, lobster ravioli, shrimp, mango and goat cheese salad and the truffle cream gnocchi. all very good but not wow. would go as a local spot in the area but not worth going out of your way.
Update: we dine here all the time but this time we decided to take out. We were sent to the sister restaurant Briciola. What a joke - the fish was tiny and there was barely any salad. Lost another star for this The ambiance was great. From the start everything was great. The wine we chose was perfect for us. We started with the shrimp scampi and grilled eggplant, which by the was my absolute favorite! We then also ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and one of their specials, which was a truffle gnocchi dish. The tagliatelle was good, but the gnocchi hit the spot for me. So rich, flavorful, and just delicious. I probably would have been happier splitting the gnocchi because the entire dish might be a bit to rich for one sitting, but I loved it! Would love to come back to try other dishes for sure.
Very disappointing experience. We were greeted by a very complacent waiter . We had a reservation and were seated right away. We ordered the vongole and four pastas. The vongole appetizer was clearly not fresh. None in our party could finish. We told the waiter and no one cared. No one asked why, no care. Not to mention we were sat in a tight corner where waiters and the busboy would constantly crossed my friends face while serving and clearing. I've been in the restaurant business my whole life and this is major faux pas. When trying to get the attention of wait staff, they were all busy eating candy and texting in the corner. When we got our food, it was equally disappointing. None of us finished our food and i was scared to eat the clams. They were clearly not fresh, possibly frozen. The bathroom was disgusting. We were handed our check without any inquiry of dessert or after dinner drink. Someone really needs to train this wait staff. The two stars are only for the ambience.
A quaint neighborhood restaurant but the service and food were rather lacking. In the beginning, the waitress spilled wine onto the floor and my company’s white pants. She gave us soda and salt to wipe the stains off, but they still remain even after washing with soap and detergent. (It’s probably unwearable now.) We did not even get a refill of the portion of wine that she spilled on the pants, table, and floor… No other compensation of course. Throughout the evening, the service was quite slow, to the point where we had to walk up to the counter to ask for our bill. We didn’t even get our starting bread until we asked about it in the middle of our meal. The food was mediocre, the taste perhaps sullied by the overall experience of the meal. All of this might be an issue of low staff numbers, tight space, and a lack of attention to the tables outside. Not the pleasant experience we were hoping for on a Saturday night out.
I was so disappointed in my visit. I had a 6:15 reservation. I arrived at 6pm and we were waiting for the two others in our party. we were told we couldn’t be seated until our full party arrived and were asked to wait outside. when we asked if we could wait at the bar considering it was cold outside, the hostess hesitated and didn’t want to seat us at the bar so instead, we decided to wait at a bar nearby. When we returned for our reservation, there was another party with a 6:15 reservation. That party was rude and said some terrible things to me as we waited. They yelled at me about how they were there first even though they didn’t know we had arrived 15 minutes earlier. Staff did not help this situation or defend us and instead gave the table to them. A table was not ready for us 15 minutes after our reservation time so we walked out. This was pretty disappointing and put a huge dent in our plans as we had a show that night. Service and reservation management should be worked on.
I recently dined at this restaurant with my sister, and unfortunately, our experience was marred by the behavior of our waitress. The restaurant was quite busy, and we understood that, but our waitress seemed rushed and not very attentive to our needs. From the start, she seemed impatient and dismissive. However, when placing our order, the waitress didn’t allow us to ask necessary questions about the sauces. She snatched the menu from our hands before we could clarify what “white sauce” meant. When the dish arrived and it wasn’t what we expected, she was visibly irritated about changing the order and only reluctantly agreed to fix it. While we waited for the correction, my initial dish, lobster ravioli, sat getting cold. We had to ask the manager to reheat it, and the overall timing of the meal ended up being awkward. The waitress never checked on us after the food came out. As the evening went on, her rudeness became more apparent. At one point, a busboy tried to take my sister’s plate while she was still eating her last bite. Instead of seeing if we were finished or needed dessert, we were left waiting multiple times. Finally, I waited really long to be asked for dessert and after enduring such dismissive service, I decided to pay and not to leave a tip. The waitress actually yelled, “No tips! No tips!” right in my ear, which was incredibly unprofessional and startling. It was a shocking way to be treated as a customer. To the restaurant’s credit, the manager, Mark, was very kind and attentive, promising to make things right if we return. However, the overall experience was soured by the waitress’s rude behavior. I hope the restaurant can address this so that future guests have a more pleasant visit.
