Had the absolute pleasure of coming into Penny House Cafe recently. I got the best seller and drip coffee. The food portion was great and delicious! But the star of it all was the owner, he was so warm and hospitable despite a busy line, really made sure everyone was taken care of. Good hospitality is hard to find in this town, definitely worth a visit!

Really charming and cozy cafe / deli near prospect park. A couple of seating & pretty narrow place. There’s one cook and one manning the cash register so expect your order to take a while. However, while you wait there are free wifi and attentive service to distract you!

We tried their best seller and supreme sandwiches, and they were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. The warm atmosphere and amazing service will definitely bring us back. Penny House Cafe made our experience here amazing. They treated us with open arms and recommended a few options to try, not overselling, but caring and loving what they do. Our soft hot bagel breakfast sandwiches were delicious. Coffee was on point, and we are glad we made this trip to come try them out. The lemon olive cake, blue berry muffin, and chocolate croissant uffffff no words needed. Thanks to the 2 of you, we wanted to go back, but time didn't permit. Hopefully, we'll be back soon. Keep up the amazing customer service, many places need to learn from the 2 of you.

My favorite neighborhood coffee and bagel. This was the first place I tried the morning I moved to town, desperate for a cup of coffee early in the morning, and I’ve been back frequently every since! The bagels are prepared just how I like them, and the coffee is always hot and delicious. And the best part yet is the friendly faces that go with it.

the two shot latte was more like a flat white in terms of the proportion of milk and espresso. if you love your coffee strong, this would be the place. the staff is super friendly and nice!

I got a Greek omelette on a bagel, so idk if this is their best option. They seem like they make a good bacon egg n cheese from hearing other peoples orders. The wait was a bit long. It seemed like they were backed up. The coffee was fine.

Stopped in around 11am on a Friday after seeing great reviews, but this was the worst bagel shop experience I’ve had in the neighborhood My husband’s BEC order came in 7 minutes and was served to our table. Mine? Nearly 30 minutes. I had ordered the Best Seller, subbing the mayo out for cream cheese. While I was waiting for my order, I overheard the staff loudly argue about my cream cheese substitution, which was very awkward to sit through. Three people who ordered after me were served first, and when my sandwich was finally ready, the cook just shouted it from the counter. I had to fetch it myself, which kinda sucks when I tipped for “here” and my husband was served but not me. To make matters worse, my husband’s flat white tasted like it was made with drip coffee, not espresso, and his BEC came on the wrong bagel with a strange chemical flavor. Poor service, bad food. We won’t be back.

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. The baristas have no idea what they’re doing. I asked for a simple espresso drink and was told I didn’t know what I was asking for. Incredibly rude staff that gave me a completely incorrect drink with burnt espresso and over steamed milk. They then admitted that they charged me for a large (for a drink that doesn’t come in sizes. I ordered a cortado. It’s one size). I was scammed up and down. Highly recommend never setting foot in this horrible, unethical, and unknowledgeable establishment.

Poor for Brooklyn. We paid $20 for a sandwich 😂 and yes it was OK (overpriced) however the seating provision was dirty. As we sat eating one of their staff members decided it was an excellent idea to run their vacuuming a piercing noise. How rude to customers.
