Sai, the owner, is genteel, endearing and attentive to all of her customers. I met her and had a charming conversation about the neighborhood and events happening. Truly a great person. She's had this business for 9 years and deserves more support. If you loved the experience please take 5-10 minutes and post a review. We have to support our small businesses. Regarding my experience, I ordered the popcorn chicken, Kimchi fried fried and Chicken fried rice. The flavors were zesty and robust and not overpowering. The portions are big. And Im 6'4" 250 lbs and a single bowl was enough to put me to sleep (technically called post-prandial somnabulism). All of the ingredients are fresh and the prices are surprisingly decent. The restaurant is clean and cozy. It wasn't busy when I came but I can see how it can get busy. Overall a great Korean restaurant and one of the very few in the area. And even fewer offerring great quality and excellent service. Its mad cool. Thanks Sai. Ill be coming back for more.
Very tasty chicken bibimbap! Fresh vegetables, juicy chicken, and a perfectly balanced flavor. The portion is filling and nicely presented.
Tiger Box is a bright spot in a part of town that doesn't have many restaurants. Korean food in particular can be hard to find, but Tiger Box is my new favorite for sure. I had the sundubu jjigae, a perfectly spicy stew of tofu and pork. Sai the owner clearly knows what she is doing. I haven't had a jjigae that good since I lived in LA's Koreatown.
There’s that saying about some restaurants, “a hole in the wall”, right? That’s usually referring to the appearance of the restaurant, which rarely plays a part in the experience and the food itself (based on my experience, anyway). Tiger Box is totally a hole in the wall. It’s small, not fancy at all, not a bunch of hype and frills, but the experience….man, the experience. I arrived to be welcomed by the owner, Sy (spellcheck, please). She.is.phenomenal. We chatted for a bit before I ordered. There’s no seating inside, so I went outside to sit and wait for my food. I had no idea what I was in store for. I tried several different dishes. The spicy pork bowl being one of them. Rice and pork, marinated in gochujang, ginger and other flavorful components, really got me in my feelings almost instantly. You taste the warmth, and the experience, and the love right away. I also tried the kimchi jjigae, which is a hot stew with kimchi, pork, onions, green onions, rice, and more. I’d say this was one of the most special dishes. The kimchi soaking in that stew, the tofu absorbing all of those flavors….ugh. Cooking is an art. This was cooking from a deeply rooted cultural background. The history was in every bite. I also tried the spicy pork ssam wraps, which were delightful. More of that yummy spicy pork, but with the freshness of the lettuce. Such a bright, Spring-y dish! The seafood scallion pancakes were one of my faves! Savory pancakes, packed with flavor, and seafood! I also tried the steamed meat kimchi mandu, which appear as dumplings, but owner Sy says, “no, it’s mandu”. And listen, I wasn’t about to argue with her! She KNOWS, ok?! The mandu was divine. They were stuffed with kimchi and pork. After speaking with Sy, I have so much more of an appreciation for kimchi. She says the process is tedious, that it takes time. The more steps you add to your kimchi, the better it tastes. The more flavor you develop. She says it’s a lot of work, but that she doesn’t regret it. The kimchi is a top seller because it’s served in so many dishes. Sy is special. She really does love running Tiger Box. That is inspiring and you can taste her love in the food. This is homestyle authentic Korean cuisine, and I am still blown away by it all. I cannot wait to get back! Please, please do yourself a favor and visit Tiger Box in Brooklyn.
So excited and happy to find an amazing Korean spot for take out. We walked to pick up, and our order was hot and ready to go. Even by the time we got home with our food, (a good 10-15 mins) everything was still fresh and ready as if we just got it. Definitely our new go-to!! Oh, and the wings are definitely something to write home about, and the Veggie Bibimbap is the best.
Cozy little spot for authentic Korean food! Food is great and you can tell it was made with care. We ordered the Army Stew and Bulgogi Rice, both were 10/10!
The lady there is so nice and attentive!! She always has a smile and checks in on you. It feels very like home here. The food is the best part, affordable and freshly made!!!! I come here so often now 😊😊
Great food, great service. The owners were very friendly and courteous :) I’ll be back again.
Ordered the veggie bibimbap, so yummy and filling. Went to a conference at Newlab and was glad to find this gem of a place to eat quickly so near by. The place seems beloved by the community. Cant wait to come back
For at least a year now I have been looking for the best Korean in the downtown Brooklyn, Ft Greene, Dumbo area. This is it, this is the winner. Super nice people as well!
Kimchi jjigue was so good and warm for this weather.
Ordered the japchae dosirak on seamless, and this is legit some of the best Korean food I've had in Brooklyn! I love the chefs choice banchan ((side dishes)), and the kimchi is out of this world! Will definitely be ordering here A LOT, thank you!!!
very nice ma’am, very fast service and delicious food. loved it!

Very great hidden gem of Korean food. The rice and beef meal was very great and it’s easy to tell that not only rice is well made but the beef and veggies too. Also very affordable. Owner is great too
The owner is wonderful and the food is fantastic! 10/10 coming back often. Spicy pork rice bowl and chicken fried rice were both super fresh and tasty. Seafood scallion pancake was perfect as well.
I was not expecting the bold flavors and friendly atmosphere the worker served us at the table . I also can't complain about the quality of the food the herbs and meat in the spicy pork bowl and spicy pork box was amazing the worker is friendly it's a little spot to chill and eat the vegan scallon pancakes also good to.
10/10 Greatly exceeded expectations - perfectly cooked delicious veggies and kimchee

The food is delicious! I got the lunch taco special and enjoyed it. The food was fresh and had a nice balance of flavors. The prices are comparable to most similar places in the area, and the wait was very short despite going during prime lunch hours. I kinda wish the tacos came with something small on the side, but I'll be going back when the mood strikes.
I ordered on Seamless, order took a little longer so the food arrived a slightly cold, but it was not the restaurants fault but the delivery driver taking a longer route. Even though it was cold, it was still delicious! Only objectives would be that more dipping sauce was needed for the Mandoo, barely any in the ramekin, enough for two dumplings. Also, the Pajeon could have been a bit crisper, but the flavors in both were great and the Bulgogi Taco was amazing! Perhaps you can have an individual add on cause I could have eaten 4!!! Thank you, will order again.. Never knew about this place!

The "Bulgogi" I've ordered was really bland. There was hardly any seasoning/flavors. The bowl tasted like it was sauteed with soil sauce only. Their other menu, "Bowl Spicy Pork" (no photo) was ok and a bit on the salty side.
