What a fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in I was in awe of the gorgeous offerings and beautiful clean space. Everyone was happy and in a great mood and that just instantly put me in a state of peace and stillness. While enjoying this quiet moment I was enthralled by the interesting matcha milk jam. I then turned around to see the pastries on offer and was instantly captivated! I had been familiar with their “basic” products because Bien Cuit supplies many coffeeshops around NYC with croissants but this was a whole different level… purple potato hot cross bun?!? Earl Grey lemon loaf!?! Mandarin fennel bread?!? Amazing amazing! I bought it all and shared it with a friend. An exciting culinary experience! Many thanks to Bien Cuit for helping to transform a fun afternoon into an exquisite one 💜
Cute love it in here. Coffee is good quality, and one of the only spots where I can find a good quiche lorane. All the girls are really sweet and Damion is just a delight. Well priced and the cookies are a staple in my sweets diet.
A quaint spot on Franklin Avenue for high-end pastries, sandwiches, and specialty snacks like sausage and cheese. Artful avocado toast, creamy coffee drinks, and fresh breads galore also pose deliciously delicate options for the inquisitive, or those tempted by a tasty and luxurious chomp and sip. The perfect way to impress guests or supplement the perfect picnic. Worth the splurge.
This place brings a taste of France to the streets of Brooklyn. Their pâte feuilletée (laminated dough) is buttery and flaky, making for excellent croissants and danishes. Very well done patisseries, although the financiers and cookies were less impressive.

THIS PLACE IS A MUST VISIT! TRY MULTIPLE ITEMS! I called them up just about 15 minutes before closing to see if I could swing by and grab a few desserts after a long day running around the city. The manager really knows his desserts and was able to speak about the intricacies of each one and what makes them unique. You can tell he takes pride in his work and his bakery. Everything is nicely organized. Desserts are labeled so well so you know exactly what the item contains (especially if you have a nut or gluten allergy). The desserts are absolutely HEAVENLY, beautifully designed and decorated, and have the perfect amount of sweetness. Craftsmanship at its finest. This is the perfect place to get desserts and pastries (as well as bread, sandwiches, and drinks) for that special event including Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, friends and family gatherings, and / or corporate events. I got the following: - Cassis Citron Tart - Mexican Chocolate Buche De Noel Slice - Chocolate Pecan Frangipane - Apple Pastry I will 100% be back! Glad to have them in the neighborhood!
I absolutely love this bakery. Their chocolate almonds croissant is one of my absolute favorites, it’s so unique with the mix of chocolate and almonds, perfectly sweet and it pairs so well with their delicious matcha latte. For a while whenever I had free time I would stop by almost every day since I live nearby. Unfortunately my schedule doesn’t allow me to come as often as I’d like but every visit feels special. The customer service is incredible, everyone is so kind, especially the gentleman who usually works in the early mornings. He’s always warm and welcoming and truly makes the experience even better. As someone who grew up used to French pastries I can honestly say it’s such a gift to have a place like Bien Cuit in this neighborhood. Highly recommend to anyone who loves high quality pastries.

I love this place for their breakfast pastries. Seriously good bakers. The cherry pane dolce is killer.

Good selection of bread an pastries, good quality, good coffee, nice ambient. You can sit in their small hidden backyard which is a nice alternative to the more crowded streets outside. If you want to have your coffee in peace and read a book, come here. If you want to watch people while having your breakfast, this is not the right place. Prices are reasonable.
Cute little bakeshop that makes fresh pastries. I ordered the chocolate croissant and asked for it to be warmed up. It was really delicious and fresh. Every time I am in here, someone is purchasing freshly basked bread so that might be my next stop.
I finally tried this place. It was amazing the chocolate almond croissant and the apple danish. It cost $14.50 for those 2 items so not cheap. They have a nice backyard. Cute spot.
The quality of food here is so top notch! The quiche is so rich and creamy, the baked goods so flavorful. They will heat up your quiche right there. The only downside is that the purchases eat up my wallet.

We were very surprised how flaky were the pastry. So good , maybe need more chocolate. The matcha latte was ok. I would like to try their bread
Had a fantastic za’atar aged lemon Viennese scone. Other pastries were a bit pricey, but this hit the sweet spot of interesting and affordable ($3)
#TGTG pastry bag - The staff was helpful and pointed me to the bag that was diligently packed. The restaurant has a spunky vibe and looking at all the food made me hungry. I got a total of about four pastries. The plate may have one dessert missing (almond croissant) and may have a dessert from another place (the round thing with raisins) The portion size on the desserts were huge and definitely covering the value portion. The pastries were flaky but for me were a bit too dry. I don't know if that's by design or because they are left overs. Secondly the taste was just alright and nothing too out of the ordinary to say.
I think covering Bien Cuit completes my tour de chocolate almond croissant in Crown Heights. I think this one was overpriced but you're paying for sheer volume at $7 a pop. I managed to walk home and still not finish it, which isn't normal for me at all. In my opinion, they had a good selection of baked goods but it wasn't very clear what was in stock. They had a few random loaves of bread but I didn't see anything enticing. The overall environment wasn't as welcoming as other bakeries in the area.

I love Bien Cuit on Smith Street, which is why I was excited to find out that they opened a new branch on Franklin Ave. But what a disappointment. I found the pastries I tried lacking in flavor, and pretty much everything is overpriced. If I treat myself to any pricey French pastry, I expect to get something extraordinary- especially if the place charges more for croissants, tarts, etc than Manhattan-based French bakeries like Dominique Ansel and Mah-ze-dahr. Nothing I tried was memorable or tasty, I don’t think I’ll go back.

Paid 35 dollars for a bag of loose, stale pastries. Pound cake was 7$ and seems cut by a child. Will never return.

Update after three years of living in the area and continuing to give this place a chance once in a blue moon in hopes that their pastries OR bread somehow improved: still baffled how they manage to stay afloat! The baguettes are dry and stale, the pastries are dry and stale, and the price!!! $7 for a crusty slice of pound cake?? $4 for one inch of financier? My roommate asks why I keep giving them chances and I honestly don’t know how to respond. I suppose the real answer is there is no other bakery in the area. The biggest mystery of Franklin Avenue!
I ordered a salmon tartine—open faced sandwich—and was surprised to find a thick layer of very mayonnaise-heavy potato salad under the thin slice of smoked salmon. A truly odd combo. BUT I was even more surprised to discover a few hours later that I was sick to my stomach. Very sick. For two days. I can’t prove it was this sandwich, but the timing matches. I should have remembered that premade sandwiches with mayo can spoil quickly. I would not recommend this food
All I can say is that there is One Direction that's incredibly rude it's like she doesn't want to be there I'm not sure what his name was but he has curly hair and he wears like a beanie and he has glass on. Most of the other Baristas at this location are nice.
Usually my go to in the neighborhood. But I went to get a croissant, and the guy working was taking out the trash from back to the front outside. He didn't wash his hands before handling my order and I can't go back.
Worst bread I ever ate in my life. Tried 3-4 different options including the baguette, wouldn’t be able to choose which was the worst. NYC should be ashamed of itself for letting such a place grow to have 3 different locations. It is the city of the best food and the worst food, which people forget to add.

Not sure who is at fault here, but one, very slim bread called Pane Francese was $12. I left it there. Something is broken if bread is this expensive.
