I love the food from this place, especialmente los tamales de Elote 🥰
Love this neighborhood spot.Great food.
Authentic Food is top notch! Family Favorite!!!
Pupusas are amazing! I love coming here for them!
Food was great ,filled with taste. Clean and staff is prompt. We had almost 1 or everything. All was so good !!!
This place deserves a lot more credit. Incredible papusas and steak!
Great food, Service and staff. Overall it's one of the best places to eat, hang out with friends and more.
Been going here for 30 years, since I was a kid; The best pupusas in Brooklyn hands down!
Awesome place to eat, tip automatically add it to your bill, no questions ask lol.
Great service and delicious food. They have the best Pupusas in Brooklyn!
Pupusas. If you've never had it, try it. It's a very simple dish, tortilla dough with puree beans in the middle.
Nice cozy looking Latin flavor restaurant. Food good, service good, staff is very friendly and willing to accommodate.
I love the service n the food was good but the fish was to thin n no fish meat
First time in this place ... FOOD was great place clean waiter was up to par with the service..
Unique Spanish food u can get Spanish fool anywhere in New York but not like this pupusas are to die for soon good I forgot to snap a pic
Delicious pupusas!! It's definitely a must-have dish!!
Great customer service. Good food and a pleasant environment. Will definitely return.
Old school latin charm with great food. Doesn't get much better as far as I'm concerned
I finally have a Salvadoran restaurant for pupusas and tamales de elote con crema
Delicious authentic Salvadorian food. Meats are always juicy and tender. My favorite dishes: Beef stew, Broil fish, pork shoulder. Including their tamales and pupusas (mixed) with there chilled pickled cabbage. Natural Fruit shakes passion and orchata (sweeten rice milk w/a dash of cinnamon is my favorite refreshing home made drink. Owners are very pleasant and the atmosphere is welcoming...great place to dine in...for all ages.
Great place for traditional Salvadorean food. Big portions as well. The popusas revueltas with a side of refried beans is a great small meal or large snack. Most of the staff speaks mostly Spanish so I've had to translate for a few friends to make sure there isn't a miscommunication. I recommend to all.
I found this place to be a cozy family restaurant. The service was excellent and the grilled chicken salad that I ordered was fresh. The pupusas were delicious and not too oily like other restaurants in the area. I would highly recommend El Continental!
Authentic food served by friendly staff. The vibe is that of where the locals from the community would go for their family meals. Very comfortable and relaxed dining. Great food and ample portions.
Service was good, food was good and the atmosphere was a little too quiet and very poor light at the whole location, they need mire light to make it feel better, and place more alive .
Classic Salvadoran food with wonderful service. I've been going here for years and it's consistently delicious. Try the pupusas
I went here with my friend back in November. The food was delicious! Especially the pupusas :) go here if you want to try Salvadoran food and want to support a local business
The food is really good.. I've had a lot of pupusas in my life & I enjoy their food.
This place offers Central American style food, the owners who keep the place running are some hard-working people. The wait times are fair even when the place seems to be busy, I look forward to eating here after Sunday service 👌
I love this spot, the food is always great. Recently I had the carne guisada (beef stew) and it was just what I needed.
The best pupusas in the area hands down.
Great service, amazing food, and will definitely be recommending and coming back for more! The pupusas are perfect.
Extremely clean! Got a A in front of door. You can see right into the kitchen. prices were reasonable, great for familys, food was delicious and waitresses were very nice.
Tasty cheese papusas. Cheesy and hot. I got maduros to mix the savory and sweet together. They were tasty too. They gave me a side of pickled onions with cabbage and everything together tasted really good -Service was fast, food came quick -Large windows to look outside and Spanish music, easy to talk and hear others, great atmosphere
The food is fresh and very good. The service was excellent.
Great lunch specials and also a great spot for casual dinner if you're looking for central American cuisine. Really friendly staff and management. Go for the pupusas or chicharrone or why not both?? Annoyed to see other reviewers criticizing this place for bad management or food poisoning -- not valid!
Review for pupusas only- 5 stars! I had the spinach and cheese ones and they were made fresh in front of my eyes- came with typical cabbage slaw and green and red sauce both good. A steal at $7. And I think this is a woman-owned business (at least there were a lot of women cooking and around!) would def order the pupusas again.
Good food and there best seller is called pupusas.
Food is fantastic, authentic Salvadorian food. I just wish the interior would be updated.
Food is very Fresh. Taystee and not over spiced!
Good food but kind of slow service
Food was great. Shakes on point. Service a bit slow.
Came here to order pupusas they are delicious and normal priced not bad will go back try something else.
It's was a long wait and the packing wasn't great (my bag broke right after I left the store) the food was good.
I had a great dinner here with three others, especially as we arrived at prime time, 6:30pm, and were able to get a table of our choosing. In July 2021, they had all windows open, outdoor dining and the staff wore masks which was comforting. They got four stars as their carne guisada (beef stew) was a bit bland and service was spotty with appetizers coming after the entree and the wrong beers being served. They are not wheelchair accessible unfortunately.
Absolutely the most delicious pupusas you can have an all Park Slope Brooklyn. When I tell you delicious and affordable. A variety of chooses freshly made Juices. We love the cabbage slaw.
4-stars only for their business hours. I do love that they're open until midnight, but the prices are steep. 20 pupusas + 3 drinks=$78.
The food was delicious Pupusas de espinacas y queso Pupusas of Spinach with cheese Thi's a Salvadorian dish very popular here and #1 also in El Salvador
It's almost perfect. Good atention. I like the staff but Í think that need more decoration because is a Salvadorean restaurant... they have a delicious food...
This is a homey type of restaurant, nothing fancy, just good food. I always order beef soup (sopa de res). The soup comes out piping hot with 2 fresh-made tortillas and white rice. The food is consistently good.
I ordered pupusas and they were the best I had in Brooklyn. The best ones were the beans & cheese ones. They were moist inside with a bit of a crunch outside. It waited a little over 40 minutes in the restaurant, so l suggest ordering ahead of time.
The pupusas are okay but I don’t like management
🙂
Really expensive and the pupusas was not so good
This place was so good in the beginning 90s,Quality of Latin products were really good, you can test the spices and delicious cuisine flavors.but today its changed.Very good attention to serve..
I really like there pupusas! They don't give enough curtido to go with it. Maybe because it was takeout? We also ordered pork chicharrones and yucca fries. The meat was so dry that was inedible! Must have been sitting there for a long time! Very dissapointed
I just stopped by for a quick bite. There's a lot of seating. Besides the seating at the front of the restaurant there's another room for more guests. The staff is friendly and pretty quick to respond. I had Papusas and an horchata. They food and drinks was okay but didn't particularly stick out.
If you want to eat good pupusas here's the place to come.. tasty flavorful and freshly made. The cabbage is good to. But I gave it 3 stars because the food is not what expected! Needs flavor and freshness to rice and salads.
I come here on the weekends sometimes for their breakfast as it's not far from home and for what I order I'm not disappointed. If you try one thing here make sure it's the pupusas as they are very delicious. Everything else in my opinion is not as tasty. The service is good, but some things are definitely not fresh and you can tell. I think it has great potential but just needs an extra push.
The pupusa are simple and have no taste. I rather spot in nj
The pupusas were good, we also ordered chicharrón de pollo (fried chicken chunks) which was fried for so long he meat became a dusty texture. Basic rice and beans were good and the pollo a la parrilla (grilled chicken). This food is elsalvadorean you won't get mojo (garlic/olive oil sauce) with your fried yuca.
It was hot night out, no air conditioning. We waited about 20 minutes before a menu was handed to us and another 20 before they took our order. The waitress was rude. But the food was really good which sucks but I won't be returning here.
Food was cold, no flavor, and utensils were dirty. I don't understand how they got an A. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you want to try some good salvadorean food I recommend La Bahia.
I ordered the beef stew with white rice and beans. The plate was mostly rice and beans and literally 3 pieces of beef. I do not like how little meat you get for $14. They are not serving the public properly.
Watch what they charge you they will slip in extra charges for their average food in a very disgusting decor setting
Is there such thing as a ZERO star because this place is horrible, I have never had such a disgusting seas food plate in my life, don’t recommended, dirty utensils, cold food and horrible tamal de elotes. First time trying this restaurant in man years again and the last, I greatly recommend LA BAHIA In bushwick.
If I can give them zero ⭐ I will but I can't pupusas the worst I ever eat
I was there once and will never go again the waitress had preferences for her regular customers we ordered and the food that we ordered was over cooked and the pupusas taste terrible
Bought a baked chicken it Was so dry the worst chicken I have ate It must have been from the day before and they reheated it they did not give me a fresh chicken and we had some stew chicken also taste a terrible I don't know how this restaurant stays in business
Great food and delicious but tips are too high and its not optional!
Back in the day this place was good. I honestly don't know what happened. If u want to get food poison like I did from eating here be thier guest. I will never return to this establishment.
The food was good I liked going there to get food but not too long ago I went and there was a roach by the counter I told the man behind it and he clean it fast so no one can see smh I get it, but It turned my stomach and I feel like there’s probably more where that came from and maybe in the food 😩. Like I said the food is good but that roach just ruined it.
I ate a piece of plastic in my cheese burger and then decided to ask for the cheese burger free but he said no ill just get you a new one. Didnt really care that I could have swallowed the piece of plastic so this review is definitely valid.
I ordered and paid $18!!!! and waited 20 minutes for a Shrimp Soup. There were only 3 shrimp with noodles and carrots..what kind of asopao is that?!?!?! I called and they called me a liar that there is no way that there were 3 shrimp in there and that I must of eaten it!!!! what they should of had done and said.. what can we do for you, our customer. It was only after I said that I was going to find every possible way to leave a correct review of how rude and unprofessional they are that the lady who answered changed her tune. I have been going there for years and this is NO WAY A LONG TIME CUSTOMER SHOULD BE TREATED?? CALLED A LIAR. Not a place to feel as if your hard earned money is well spent. Many other wonderful restaurants that truly value their customers.
After passing by this establishment couple times. I decided to stop by today and finally be able to try their food. I came in and sat at the bar infront of the waitress, proceeded to open the menu and select what I wanted. I closed the menu knowing what I wanted. For the waitress to never acknowledge me. People before me got served, people after me got served. I ended up LEAVING !!! Surely will not be returning.
This place is one of the worst salvadorean restaurant I ever visited, food is not what I expected, specially the Seafood soup, I personally belive the Maruchan shrimp soup is better than their soup and is $2.00 not $25.00 as they charge NOT WORTH IT! some platters and drinks are over priced.. 1 Seafood soup, 4 tamales, cheese sticks ( some with cheese others no cheese) and a hamburger with fries, 2 drinks ( chichen and horchata) 2 beers including tax and tip $110.00. Waitress service Not good, will not come back again.
Went for lunch with my kid today, ordered such a simple plate (grill chicken, rice and beans and French fries) and it was awful. The chicken was not fresh, looked like it was at the fridge for a long time. We couldn’t eat it, When told the waitress, She told me next time to let her know as soon as she brings it to the table (not going back ever) We just ate the French fries and For $28 I can get better French fries elsewhere.
The place looks beautiful and clean. I Ordered white rice with bean and chicken stew to go.The rice and beans were ok, but the chicken stew looked like chicken soup that I had to call Resturant to see if they gave me the wrong order and was told no that how the chicken stew looks. So all I ate was just rice and beans. Waste of $14
