El Continental Brooklyn Reviews
The food is fresh and very good. The service was excellent.
Great lunch specials and also a great spot for casual dinner if you're looking for central American cuisine. Really friendly staff and management. Go for the pupusas or chicharrone or why not both?? Annoyed to see other reviewers criticizing this place for bad management or food poisoning -- not valid!
Review for pupusas only- 5 stars! I had the spinach and cheese ones and they were made fresh in front of my eyes- came with typical cabbage slaw and green and red sauce both good. A steal at $7. And I think this is a woman-owned business (at least there were a lot of women cooking and around!) would def order the pupusas again.
This is a homey type of restaurant, nothing fancy, just good food. I always order beef soup (sopa de res). The soup comes out piping hot with 2 fresh-made tortillas and white rice. The food is consistently good.
I ordered pupusas and they were the best I had in Brooklyn. The best ones were the beans & cheese ones. They were moist inside with a bit of a crunch outside. It waited a little over 40 minutes in the restaurant, so l suggest ordering ahead of time.
I just stopped by for a quick bite. There's a lot of seating. Besides the seating at the front of the restaurant there's another room for more guests. The staff is friendly and pretty quick to respond. I had Papusas and an horchata. They food and drinks was okay but didn't particularly stick out.
If you want to eat good pupusas here's the place to come.. tasty flavorful and freshly made. The cabbage is good to. But I gave it 3 stars because the food is not what expected! Needs flavor and freshness to rice and salads.
I come here on the weekends sometimes for their breakfast as it's not far from home and for what I order I'm not disappointed. If you try one thing here make sure it's the pupusas as they are very delicious. Everything else in my opinion is not as tasty. The service is good, but some things are definitely not fresh and you can tell. I think it has great potential but just needs an extra push.
I ordered the beef stew with white rice and beans. The plate was mostly rice and beans and literally 3 pieces of beef. I do not like how little meat you get for $14. They are not serving the public properly.
Went for lunch with my kid today, ordered such a simple plate (grill chicken, rice and beans and French fries) and it was awful. The chicken was not fresh, looked like it was at the fridge for a long time. We couldn’t eat it, When told the waitress, She told me next time to let her know as soon as she brings it to the table (not going back ever) We just ate the French fries and For $28 I can get better French fries elsewhere.
The place looks beautiful and clean. I Ordered white rice with bean and chicken stew to go.The rice and beans were ok, but the chicken stew looked like chicken soup that I had to call Resturant to see if they gave me the wrong order and was told no that how the chicken stew looks. So all I ate was just rice and beans. Waste of $14
