Mikhuy Brooklyn Reviews
We couldn’t have chosen a better place to host our wedding. This Peruvian restaurant exceeded all of our expectations from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The arroz chaufa and leche de tigre were huge highlights of the night and had our guests coming back for more. What truly made the experience unforgettable was Lina. She was an incredible hostess warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. She made sure everything ran smoothly and made us feel so welcomed and supported on such an important day. We’re beyond grateful for the amazing food, outstanding service, and unforgettable memories. Highly recommend this place for both special occasions and everyday dining!
Wow.. I had the arroz mariscos and it was AMAZING. We also got the leche de tigre and it was so good. We also had the chicha morada pisco sour and that’s our favorite drink! Not to say that Lina the server is amazing.. always with kindness!
Hi!! I wanted to come on here and leave my most honest and heartfelt review. I am so, so happy and over the moon with my most recent dinner at Mikhuy. We celebrated our wedding civil ceremony dinner here, and everything was absolutely perfect. A huge thank you to Lina for the beautiful decorations, her incredible attention to detail, and the genuine care she puts into everything she does. My husband and I have been coming here since we first met (a little over two years ago), and we have always received the warmest, most attentive service. Lina is truly one of the sweetest human beings I’ve ever met. I’ve also dined here with my sister-in-law and sister, and Lina always treats us with the same kindness—making sure we’re enjoying both our meal and our time there. My siblings and parents absolutely love the food as well. I even order from Uber Eats, and it never disappoints—everything is always fresh and delicious. Their leche de tigre and arroz chaufa are my go-to dishes (and their rotisserie chicken is amazing too!). ALSO, their chicha morada pisco sour is my husband and I’s favorite !!! Love their drinks! I couldn’t be happier with the attention, ambiance, service, and delivery. I will forever cherish the memory of our wedding dinner here. Thank you to Lina and the entire staff for making our night so special. My family and I are truly grateful and so happy with your service. We will definitely be back soon. XOXO
Always a great meal, with super friendly service. Big portions and fair prices. Try the aguadito and the tres leches
Had a really nice time here with my friends. Lina was our server and she was super friendly and attentive. The Leche de Tigre was amazing, and the parrillada was really delicious too. Great food, great service, and a very good vibe. Would definitely come back!
Food was delicious - we got the empanadas, aguadito, mixed ceviche, and the chicaron de pescado (fried fish with yucca). All of it was crazy good. It was a super quiet night when we went in and service was pretty slow (my partner and I were in no rush so it was all good). Margarita was also pretty good maybe just standard.
I started eating before I remembered to take a photo, but the food was delicious! I had the roasted chicken with rice and beans, and my daughter enjoyed the steak with rice, beans, and plantains. The service was quick, and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Carlos, our server, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and efficient. I will definitely be visiting often!
This place is so beautiful, it’s such a pretty sight to walk into, it’s a decent sized restaurant. They have a great playlist , but the star of the show was the food , it was so flavorful , well cooked ; and definitely a big reason for me planning my next trip back. The portion sizes are really good , we split all the food for 3 people. Affordable , friendly staff and amazing eats, what more could you ask for ?
A Taste of Peru: An Unforgettable Culinary Experience I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mikhuy, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a beautifully decorated space that reflects the vibrant culture of Peru. The menu is a true celebration of Peruvian cuisine, offering a delightful mix of traditional flavors and modern twists. We started with their ceviche, which was incredibly fresh, bursting with citrusy goodness and the perfect hint of spice. The anticuchos (grilled beef heart skewers) were tender and smoky, served with a delicious sauce that complemented every bite. The Lomo Saltado was a standout dish—juicy beef strips stir-fried with onions, tomatoes, and fries, delivering the perfect balance of flavors. And of course, the fried fish was crispy on the outside, flaky and moist inside, a true delight! What truly sets this restaurant apart is not only the authenticity of the food but also the passion and friendliness of the staff. They were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to share recommendations, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to indulge in delicious Peruvian flavors, Mikhuy is a must-visit. I will definitely be coming back to explore more of their amazing dishes!
The food at Mikhuy is amazingly fresh and plentiful. I shared the PARRILLADA PARA 2 with my son, and there was no way we could finish all of it. The roasted chicken also had great flavor. And all the appetizers were a treat; try the calamari or the salchipapas. Even the lime pisco sours were made with care. They also had a nice selection of Peruvian beers. The service is as good as the food. I planned a birthday party for my mother here, and they were accommodating and kind from beginning to end to make sure she had a wonderful time. This was my second time here and everything I tried was full of flavor. I can't wait to come back!
What a gem! So I stopped by on a quiet afternoon between lunch and dinner and saw a small selection of ceviche on the menu, ordered the Classico immediately. Superb. Beautiful presentation, fresh, perfect texture and flavor. Small selection of drinks on the menu so I stuck with water. Ice cold. Perfect. For dessert the tres leches - again beautiful (see photos) and delicious. Atmosphere super sweet. Line and narrow swindle lights on the back windows. Good music. Great service. Just a perfect experience.
Hasn't lost anything in its new spot, and although I missed the old location, the food more than made up with the gorgeousness, the potions, and most especially the yummiest. The steak hit the spot along with the cassava fries. It's difficult for me to eat regular fries after having tasted their cassava fries here. There's regular fries if you want, but seriously, why come here for what you can get everywhere? The shakes omg muaaaaah! I need to try the milk version next time. Everything hit the spot. I have tried octopus at their previous location, and it made sense. Great service, I got no complaints. I highly recommend!
stunner of a Peruvian spot. hard to find a good spot in general for this type of food but everything really shown brightly. had the lomo saltado which was tender and delicious with their green sauce, also have the leche del tigre which was a hit, and the paella which was the mariscos and that rice was tanto flavorful and delicioso, and also the mango and pineapple smoothies separately, the pineapple was incredibly surprising and so tasty , definitely get it with the milk. also had the papas la hauciana also good. definitely going to come back and highly recommend. The only thing I would improve is the green sauce which can be less spicy and more more. rich, but still a total banger all around. oh I forgot. I also have the empanadas of all three types and the best was the lomo and service was also amazing and friendly, didn't have room for the dessert but we'll have the alfajores and tres leches last night next time
Had my Papi’s birthday dinner here. What an awesome meal! Authentic Peruvian food. Delicious from start to finish! We had plenty of pisco sours, ceviches, empanadas, red snapper, fried rice, and grilled meats galore! The food was outstanding in flavor and presentation. The service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be back!
What a delightful meal!!! Im not in the habit of writing reviews but this meal was so delicious and I want to get the word out. We got ceviche mixto which was very refreshing and flavorful (if you get spicy be warned, it’s delicious but packs the heat!) and the lomo soltado. The lomo soltado was so freaking good, I don’t know what they put in that sauce. Atmosphere and service were also great, and I’d go back in a heartbeat.
The restaurant is super cute and the service is friendly and attentive. The food was good, the portions are huge. The ceviche was one of the better ones I have had, though I wish it came with chips. The empanada sampler was so good! The Peruvian chicken was outstanding.
Restaurant Week; app, main & dessert. I believe this place is relatively new, and unfortunately it doesn't get as much foot traffic as the restaurants on 5th Ave. I do hope it becomes more popular because the food and service were really good. Civeche was bright and citrusy, causitas were something completely new to me but it was really enjoyable. They reminded me of the best version of a creamy potato salad. Quinoa salad with grilled shrimp, simple and put together really well. Juicy chicken was probably my favorite dish, it had really good gravy to go with the rice. Tres leches cake was really good, may have been my first time having it but am now a fan!
We ordered 2 dishes and desert today. The service at beginning is very lovely however everything changes after we found a hair in one of the dishes. The service people start to say “ this is a black hair I don’t have a black hair “ and when we ask about could we have discounts on that particular dish with hair she start to turn black face. Even though the restaurant gives us a free cake as an apologies but because of the service people are having a very bad attitude afterwards, it makes us feel very uncomfortable. I think is restaurants responsibly to keep hair out of the dishes rather than being upset about clients found hair inside a dish. This is not professional and we won’t be here again.
