Yardsale Cafe Brooklyn Reviews
Cinnamon Babka is superb. Staff is friendly. The little trinkets give it a fun, nostalgic vibe.
Best Babka and cinnamon roll! This is a solid option, we go regularly and have never been disappointed. Very underrated in my opinion, they deserve more hype for sure!
Best babka I’ve ever had, ohhhh my goodness. Best bakery I’ve been to in a long time, and I am bakery-obsessed. Already dreaming of how and when I can make my way back to Park Slope just for this and the super chocolate-chip cookie. But that babka, this subtle mix of Nutella and chocolate (I don’t even like Nutella) and the smooth, moistness of it all is so perfect, with this sugared little crispy bottom. Shoutout to Omri, a talented stop-motion artist working his last week, who was so warm and helpful to me. 5 stars!!!!
Staff is always very friendly and also patient when my morning brain can't decide what I want. The pastries are all excellent! We particularly love the babka, cinnamon roll, and the olive bureka. They make a great dark hot chocolate. I enjoy all of their coffee drinks but I'm no connoisseur so take that in context. The shop is full of all kinds of cool collectibles and vintage tchotchkes which are pretty much all for sale which is a fun vibe and occasionally a good place for an eclectic gift. I still wish they had more than a pair of chairs for sitting inside.
After reading Google reviews with high ratings, I left home early and stopped by before going to work. It was around 7:30 shortly after the store opened, and I was impressed that all the products were lined up in the showcase. The calm and pleasant staff made a wonderful start to my day. Thank you. The ham and cheese croissant had a crispy skin and was filled with plenty of ham and cheese. The cheesecake was smooth and very delicious. Cinnamon Babka matches the sweetness of cinnamon and is perfect for coffee.
I slept on this place for too long after moving to South Slope. This is my new favorite bakery! The atmosphere is great despite only having two seats, there is a lot for sale here on the walls (decor/records, etc). The cinnamon and chocolate babkas are to DIE FOR. I will be coming back here frequently to try all of their menu items, I’ve only been impressed so far. Also their ham and cheese croissants are just perfect after a night of drinking lol
CASUAL CAFE WITH INCREDIBLE FOOD 🥮 Yardsale Cafe feels exactly like how it sounds when you step inside. Unpretentious vibe made up of literal yard sale memorabilia on the walls that are for sale. The owner takes pride in what he bakes. The babka is well-known and delicious. So are the cookies. But what really hits it out of the park 🏌️♂️ is the ham and cheese croissant 🥐 It’s not the typical kind at other places that feel hollow and leaving you craving for more. No. These Ham and cheese croissants are densely packed with aged cheese … it’s a meal that taps you out. Pairs well with cold brew. The space is very small with a tiny 🪟 window seat inside and additional seating outside for that “back patio” feel. Super chill vibe here. Highly Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yardsale Cafe in Brooklyn is an absolute gem, offering the best babka and cinnamon rolls I've ever tasted. The incredibly nice and knowledgeable owner makes every visit special, ensuring you feel like a valued guest. Every item on the menu is delicious, and the overall experience leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Yardsale Cafe is a must-visit destination!
This place deserves at least 7 of 5 stars. It has some of the best pastries I have ever eaten! And I’ve eaten a lot of different pastries in a lot of different places. 😋😊 The food is DELICIOUS! High quality ingredients, and art quality baking. It was so good that I just stayed for a while and kept trying new things. I wish I could have tried everything. I will with time. The atmosphere is fun and cozy, and they sell fun things in addition to the amazing food/drink (like musical 8-tracks and cassettes, variety of packaged cards from the 80s/90s, and other fun things. Great curation, all great quality. Genuinely happy owner and staff, everyone was authentically friendly. During my time there, a bunch of people came in who were known by the staff. Good neighborhood vibe. It makes a difference. What I had on my first visit today… Cheese & spinach bureka - light, fluffy, thin crispy layers of pastry filled with multiple cheeses and spinach, topped with sesame seeds. Wonderful. Cinnamon babka - moist, sweet, perfectly spiced. Ruby match cookie - red chocolate?? What? Yes! Not chocolate that is dyed red. It’s a different/special kind of chocolate. How have I not known about this?! Butter pecan cookie - like the ice cream, but in cookie form, and better. A latte and a double espresso - again, high quality ingredients. Yum. I took home a cinnamon roll to eat later. I have such a cafe crush on this place. ❤️
The scent of fresh, warm pastries attracted me to this location as I was briskly walking along 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Apparently, they opened on September 2020 which explains why I never have been able to find out about them since I rarely travel let alone walk in this part of Brooklyn. Only good bakeries would have a smell like the one I had the pleasure of experiencing and I was still able to smell it through my face mask. The Rosa Matcha cookie was good as was the Vegan Dark Chocolate Pistachio. The Burnt Cheesecake was soft and flavorful but not too sweet. The backyard is a nice place to dine in as well.
A casual cafe with a vintage vibe and heavenly delicious house baked pastries! The ham and cheese croissant is to die for. It has such a beautiful lamination, full of cheesy and buttery aroma, flaky outside with doughy layers inside! The cinnamon roll has a snowy icing on top and was drizzled with cinnamon syrup. I quite like it even I don’t see myself as a big fun of cinnamon;)
Definitely makes you feel like you're at a Yard sale back in the early 2000's when you walk in. Selling anywhere between hats, T-shirts, happy meal toys & collection cards. The cookie has to be heated when eaten. Nutella Babka is very chocolatey and moist. Only has one table by the window. Friendly service
My sister and made a special trip to try their cinnamon rolls, and the cream cheese frosting and filling were delicious. Unfortunately, the dough itself was laminated, which made it less of a cinnamon roll and more a round cinnamon croissant ? If you're looking for a cinnamon roll with a yeasted dough (think brioche), this is not the the place for them. Again, everything was tasty, but for a more traditional cinnamon roll, I'd recommend going elsewhere!
