This is one of the best Caribbean bakeries in New York, which means it is one of the best in America! For people in the West Indian diaspora looking for a place that makes the baked goods you remember from “home” (Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad, Jamaica, St. Vincent etc) THIS IS THE PLACE YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!

Good cassava [yuca) pudding. Love the goathead soup. Been eating at Errols for a very long time BUT, today I have an issue with the server putting too much gravy on my food. I have the right to refuse the food. So, I ask for jerk pork instead and the server said she is not going to serve me. I refuse to use my credit card to pay for only a slice of pudding. Mr T, you just lost a good customer and all who I party with because that is where I get my food. Fire her! You can't afford to lose 17 customer one time

They are always so friendly and polite. I have lived in the neighborhood for almost 5 yrs, and I have tried almost every Jamaican restaurant in the area, and I must say..if you want a delicious Jamaican breakfast, that is healthy and not too greasy, order their Ackee and salt Fish. .they even have a choice of a variety of dumplings to go along with it- even WHOLE WHEAT DUMPLINGS! !

My sister brought home a few patties from here one afternoon. Amazing. Never had a beef or vegetable patty like it. Seriously excellent, can't recommend highly enough.

On an impromptu tour of the best places to eat in Flatbush, Errol’s was among the top 5 recommended by my Trinidadian 🇹🇹 friend who played the guide. Trusting his word, we enjoyed the closest thing he could get in order for me to taste authentic Carribbean food that met his high standards. The cabbage and tangy onions atop the rice and peas was really good with the bony escovitch fish (served whole). I had a bite of the beans with pigtails, it was tasty, but the texture of the pigtails was different for me. We sat in the car right outside of Errol’s and thoroughly enjoyed every savory bite of our lunch...a phase 2 quarantine style picnic...lol... Pone and current rolls were for dessert but we took those home and forgot somehow forgot about them...left them in the car...so satisfied from lunch that a second trip is necessary for dessert and for me to really get the full Errol experience. My kind of indulgence.

Fondest memory of living on this street about a decade ago, the owner of this store is an amazing woman and her son would frequently help me with my groceries- she would always make a special ginger juice for me with less/no sugar. This family business is sweet and DELICIOUS!

It was very good!!That's one of my favorite Caribbean restaurants. The food is always freshly cooked, very tasty and the staff very courteous and friendly.so I decided to meet my sister and brother there and whoever that wanted to come to have dinner with me on my birthday. As usual, I was not disappointed.

The jerk chicken and macaroni salad are the best that I’ve had and I’m never disappointed with any of the soups. This is my go to spot for Jamaican food. It’s reasonably priced and delicious.

I've been to Errol's a few times now and can honestly say they have some of the best food in NYC. I've tried the curry chicken, jerk chicken and stewed chicken as main courses so far. All were amazing but curry chicken is my go to now. The rice and beans is always cooked right. Has yet to be hard or mushy at all. The sweet plantains are always a favorite of mine but even the steamed veggies are good. I finally tried the beef patty today. Although I haven't had many homemade beef patties in my life, this was definitely the best one I've ever had. The bread pudding baked goods are all amazing. Sweet, moist and super heavy. The cassava bread is perfect as well. The fried chicken is top notch, regular and bbq style. All the left overs warm up great too. I really don't think the food could get any better. The service is equally as good. Both of the ladies have been very helpful with all my questions and have been very welcoming. I'm in the area once a week or so and can't leave without stopping at Errol's first.

We went as soon as they opened. Wished were got more food for the holiday weekend so we are going back. Best prices I've seen in a long time. I'm low on iron so hopefully the callalo patty can help me out. Plus chicken patty, I haven't tried the coco bread just yet. I'll keep you posted.

This might be my favorite food place in Brooklyn…definitely favorite of prospect park. Their patties are not even close to skimpy and the flavor never misses. I highly recommend their ginger juice or peanut and carrot as well

R
Ramelle Liverpool (Her)

Stopped in for a beef patty and coco bread before a night out. I asked for a water and the server recommended lemonade because she didn’t want me to be sad drinking water with my beef patty. She was absolutely right, lemonade was the better choice.

J
Joannah Jones

I research best Pattie’s and this was recommended and was en route. The patty crust was great but the filling had very little beef and was too spicy for some in my group. I also ordered oxtails, soup, jerk chicken and jerk pork. All were good. Their cassava pone, currants rolls and coconut roll were chuck full of currents and coconut and had an extra secret ingredient that took it up a notch. I won’t hesitate to return when I’m next in Brooklyn.

If you seek flavor, you must try Erroll's. Nice patties...typical Jamaican dishes served up with peas and rice... delicious sweets, breads, and buns. Not the only place in Brooklyn... but the only place I go. Very consistent. Always delicious.

Errol's has been in this neighborhood for many years serving Baked Good such as Breads, pastries and a variety of patties. They specialize in Caribbean based food. I go here for the jerk chicken, curry goat and i love their daily soups on the menu. Their beef patties are delicious, including the oxtails dinner. Friendly service!

S

Best Curry goat I ever had besides the Pattie Hut (above ground one not the underground one) and PH curry goat is neck and neck with Errol’s with the only difference being PH has a slight spice kick; BOTH SEASONED to PERFECTION. Goat Roti was delicious, unlike Golden Place, Ali’s and Royal Bakery the Roti wrap at Errol’s doesn’t have that dusty powdery taste from the ‘flour’ used to make the wrap, they remove it so you taste nothing but the curry and the goat. Goat nice, soft & tender and PLENTY unlike Ali’s and others who give you a load of potatoes and 3 pieces of goat attached to the bone and the bone be bigger than the piece of goat 😂 and my close friend recommended me to try Sorrel (in California the mexicans call it “Jamaica” or “Haimaica” or Hibiscus tea) for a long time promising how good it was, the carribean style was NOT a let down; sweetly delicious with ginger mixed, sorrel is an GOOD DRINK especially with the Curry Goat Roti meal.

Amazing oxtail and rice and peas. We traveled from Phoenix, customer service was extremely helpful. Patties were the best, beef chicken and salmon. Great pastries and cakes, we finished those on the plane ride back

J

Always awesome patties, but try some of their cooking. Zesty jerk chicken was delicious. The oxtails, braised in a very robust sauce, with typical sides of steamed veg and a few maduros. The best.

Outstanding pastries and cakes. Lovely staff. Inside is just plain tables and fluorescent lights. But go for the grub. Highlights: Coconut Buns ($1.25), Blue Cake ($6) Cassava Pone ($3), Bread Pudding ($2), Corn Pudding ($3).

ordered the curry goat after some stumbling with the menu - there aren't labels describing what everything is, so i had to ask the person at the counter to help me with the names of all the dishes. ultimately happy with my order as i barely had any bones with my proteins and the curry was seasoned very well. my only ding would be that the rice and peas didn't taste much like anything, but that might have been because the curry was that much more flavorful. there is indoor seating!

This is my first time coming to this place but it was great. Initially I was just looking for something sweet and the cheesecake winked at me. It was delicious and a good portion size to share with someone. I good what I call a salmon empanada but I’m sure that’s not the proper name, I just can’t remember what was it. I’ll be trying out more of their offer in the future. They also have contactless pay what makes it convenient and safe for everyone.

Customer service over the phone is completely different than in person, I assume different people work different days. The first person I initially started my cake order with was very nice very patient. Whoever works later in the night after her is very uninterested in her customer service skills she sounded very annoyed lol. However, the day to pick up my order the guy was very nice and he allowed me to pick up my order at anytime before closing. All in all, my cake order was very very very tasty!! Will order from them again most likely in person next time lol

First time in that section of Brooklyn NY. The food was very authentic, everything seasoned just right! Easy to get too right off Flatbush Avenue. ( Not 4 the Faint of heart. . ) Expect to pay top Dollar but well worth the effort 😃

Known for their patties. They have been around the neighborhood for a long time. Classic beef patty and coco bread won't fail you. The bakery has all the traditional Jamaican options.

Pepper shrimp oxtail and Mac fried dumpling and festival is what I come for yes it's gotten more expensive than ever but the flavor don't die so when to lazy to make what I love I can come here and be ok with my decision 😗

I was referred here awhile ago when I was in the neighborhood looking at apartment. I asked the real estate guy where to eat, and after he rattled off a few generic options, I stopped him and said I wanted jerk chicken. I love jerk chicken, I never get to have it, and I knew there were a lot of options in the neighborhood. Errol's was only 5 blocks away and is situated right on a corner. It's a bakery but it makes a variety of West Indian food. After talking politics a bit with the guy behind the counter and grabbing a small jerk chicken platter for like $6, I headed out and ate everything on the subway ride home. It was pretty damn addictive. First off the sauce was on the side which made eating neater and also controlled the spice level. It was a bit heavy on the vinegar but also flavorful and very hot. The chicken quality was decent and I got plenty of skin which is *always* a good thing. They chopped up the bird, breaking the bones which I'm not crazy about, but most take out places do that. The rice, plantains, and veggies were all great. This wasn't fancy eating, but it was a great homestyle meal that was well worth the price and was needed at the time. After Exquisite Delight, this is my go-to!

P
Princess Campbell

They make the best steamed Porgy. Always ate cornmeal or oatmeal for breakfast, either one is great. I highly reccomend the chicken foot soup or any other soup delicious. If you like not having certain things in your soup you can asked for it to be removed and they will provide. I mostly come on Tuesday but just note you gotta find out what days they do the steamed porgy because people buy it alot.

I usually opt for a vegetarian snack. Sorry, I can't say which one as they don't make too many. They could benefit from better customer management.

M

Patties flaky and sold hot. Decent seasoning. Currant rolls sweet. Could be a bit bigger. Hard to locate prices so I didn't try anything else

B
Blackey Brown

The quality and taste of the food has declined in the past few years. The curry chicken used to have more have more of a kick; same goes for the jerk chicken. They used to serve whole wings for their order of jerk wings; now they’re using wingettes. However my biggest complaint would be that they need to ensure that that they are selling fresh food on Sunday evenings. I’ve gone there 2-3 times on a Sunday night and ordered jerk wings; and unfortunately each time I got wings that were old—they were dry as if they had been sitting out overnight. They do have good tasting soups. They are more reasonably priced than Golden Krust, but have less options. They have a decent selection of bakery goods; however they don’t look all that appetizing. I would rather have Allan’s for Caribbean-style pastries.

S
Sarah H

Came here as a recommendation from a friend. I got a small Curry Chicken and decided to try something from the bakery as well. The red-velvet cake was okay. Nothing too special. It was really sweet which I wasn’t a fan of. The chicken was good though.

S T

Unfortunately despite the great taste of the Roti and oxtail I had, I guess because it had been sitting out for a long time after eating me and my some of my friends got food poisoning. So my advice do not order toward the end of their day or if the food looks kinda dry

Wall Fish
Wall Fish

Didn’t love the sweets here, a little bit dry when it comes to cake. Tried a variety of cake/treats and I’m not quite sold yet. The pricing was great though and it’s a nice family owned vibe. The chocolate cake frost was A+ though!

K
Keith Kozart

Chicken soup was terrible & oily Beef and chicken patty horrible! Sorry being honest

K
Krystal

I ordered an escovitch fish dinner. Unfortunately the fish was dryer than dry with no escovitch sauce on it, and the veggies were literally overcooked to the point where the onions were like chewing plastic. Barely any peas in the rice and peas. The steam veg was cabbage mixed with a previously frozen vegetable medley. It's getting increasingly harder to find Jamaican restaurants to patronize these days.

G
Grimmy Reaper

Bought a lunch of the rice and peas with the jerk chicken and had a tiny roach in it. I believe mass production and lack of team support lead to a roach in the food. However before that experience the food was great. Good hospitality and service

S
Ssbrina Hamilton

They have the best patties, carrot juice and porridge. The cod fish cakes are always missing the cod fish. There's nothing in them but onions and I tried them on 3 different occasions. There's nothing but onions and dough in them.

M
MRobbie MRobbie

I ordered 3 jerk chicken meals with rice and peas and plantains. My order came on time but with no plantains, and no phone call to replace it either. The chicken tasted like baked chicken instead. When I called the store Errol told me the plantains are not ripe. They also said that they don't charge for sides. But the bottom line is the customer is paying for the 3 items required in the meal but only getting 2 items delivered. The customer gets less for the money and they get to save money on their food. Sorry I don't want to order a second time to make up for the mistake especially when I had other choices.

K

I have been here before and it was much better years ago. Got some beef patties and we didn’t see them till we opened the bag when we got home. They were dry and looked like they had been sitting out for a while, bland flavor and in general not good. Unfortunately it seems the standards have slipped and we will have to find a new place now.

Adjoa N

Great food usually but awful service tonight. I went in today to order the chicken soup and told the lady I wanted one potato and one dumpling. She asks me several times about my order and had a nasty attitude but I was still gracious and said thank you. When she asked me the specifics of my meal order she had an attitude and made fun of me with her male coworker. They both giggled in the kitchen after speaking with me. He spoke a bit harshly to me as well. I still said thank you but when I got home I noticed that my soup is full of potatoes. This feels intentional and what has led me to write this review. I will no longer be going into this establishment but I encourage you all to order delivery! The food is great, just my soup was unenjoyable.

Went for the patties- shouldn't have. I knew upon sniffing the beef pattie that it was wrong - I grew up eating Jamaican patties and they NEVER smelled like these (had I gotten a whiff beforehand, I wouldn't have bothered). The crust used had not one iota of the fragrance of pattie crust. My friend urged me to taste, so I did - no flavor. In a beef pattie. I was shocked - total waste of time and money. My search for great Jamaican patties in Brooklyn continues - cuz they ain'tat Errol's.

This def used to be my spot last year. Went in today to cheat myself and completely wasted the $35 I spent. Whoever made the food today needs to never enter the kitchen. Everything tasted burnt, everything. Smh, such a waste

Wanted to try this place because of the good reviews. The jerk chicken was dry and bland. The coconut bread was stale. Won’t be back …

L

Stopped going there after finding hair, wire from pot scrubber and a long string in the food in the space of 2 months. Been going there for ages. Told ppl I recommended it too and they shrugged it off saying they found stuff in the food too but didn't bother. Sorry. Nope.

There are entitled people double parked in front of this place nearly 24/7. If you care about your community, tell your customers to park legally.

S

If i could give less than one star i would. Worst rice and peas i ever taste, had no flavor and it was soggy. Jerk chicken was dry. I just threw the food away waste of money. 1st and last time going

T

Today was enough - I went in for a beef patty and a cocoa bread, left with nothing. I’ve been going to this bakery forever and my most recent experiences have tried my patience. They always take forever and never acknowledge you as a customer. If you’re going in this store bring your patience and lunch.

m

beef patty was disrespectful too the patty community, i dont see how get away with that flavor that needs to be updated asap, kennedy fried chicken beef pattys are better then that an thats crazy,

The cakes need to be labeled and dated to determine and insure freshness. I had a piece of cake here that tasted absolutely disgusting and old. Very disappointing.

Lei P

Worst oxtail of my life. It was so hard and tasted funny like not like beef smh idk. It led me down this rabbit hole … aparently some people are serving something else and calling it oxtail. Idk man it tasted weird and I’m Caribbean it didn’t taste like beef and it was so tough mind you got it and it end of the night it was basically the last serving so why would it be tough and gamey tasting? I had to throw it out waste of 20$ …. Mind you I walked all the way down from cj’s out of my way to try this spot I should’ve just stuck with my gut and just got it from there because it’s actually tender and COW.. If I get food especially Caribbean food that’s about 1-2 meals for me , In this economy I don’t have time to be playing with my money. Not even my friend wanted to eat it and I would even try giving it to my dog.

Bought a fish soup that was half oil half water which tasted like water. I called to inform them that the soup was watery & no good & the woman who answered just said I’m sorry. After the soup sat for 3 hours after a nap. I went back to it & saw a third of it had oil sitting on the top. that was surprising because soup usually doesn’t have oil sitting so heavily. upon calling back to let them know this & wanting to bring it to show them, I was met with disrespect saying once I walk out with food there is no return on it. I’m said, “even if the food being served is no good?“ I was expecting a level of curiosity atleast from them to say bring it let me see or something. Instead she said … “once you walk out that it’s. & u called from this morning So either way u can’t bring it back. We don’t accept food back! So I was expected to go drink oily watery soup. Then once I said the Soup was oily she responded. It’s salmon and it’s tea not soup which clearly the menu said fish soup . I bought the soup around 11 am shouldn’t go bad by 3 pm. I would advice to not to buy food from here if your looking for quality food & service. If you’re into watery and oily soup, this is the place to go.

terribly dry and overcooked jerk chicken that was burnt and crumbly with black carbon. dried plantains. not moist, not flavourful. it all tasted stale and like a day old. The patty was fine, not amazing. But the jerk chicken was the worst I’ve had in my life.
