This is one of my absolute favourite neighborhood haunts. I’ve been ordering the veggie breakfast burrito for years and love it - both in the restaurant and also as delivery. Their staff are super kind and their hot sauces are delicious.

Go here. This is a great diner. The food is good, straightforward homemade diner food. The waitress was probably the sweetest waitress we have ever had (seriously, she’s a gem), and the prices were great. What’s not to love???

We stopped here for coffee and hot chocolate today and it was very good, I also tried a cranberry muffin which was very delicious. We passed this place every day and never noticed how nice it was inside. They also had a menu with a variety of dishes. The flavor is spot on and versatile. The service was prompt. Although we kept adding to our order, because we were enjoying each dish, the waiter stayed patient and friendly. The ambiance is casual and very kid friendly. And learned they will be undergoing some upgrades. Hi very picky latte drinker here, yesterday was Thanksgiving and I was in desperate need of a latte before I started my cooking. Went on seamless and found Serenity Cafe and decided to take a chance on a place I’ve never had before, I am so happy that I did. The staff was so helpful and friendly on the phone, the delivery was prompt but mostly the iced caramel latte was soooooo delicious! I also had home fries and both the latte and fries were very good. All in all I give 5 stars and highly recommend.

On labor day I took my 2 girls there to have breakfast. They were short staff, and it took awhile for us to get our food. They got one of our order wrong. We let them know, they acknowledge their mistakes and apologized. Gave us 30 percent off to our meal and took off the mistake order. Great recovery services 👍. Will definitely go back.

First time going since they took over the Mexican diner a year back and rebranded. Less Latino items on the menu. Lots of deals on the window not on the menu itself. Got the burger special: burger, fries, soda for $6.99. For that price point tasted quite good. Don't compare to high end beef blends and hand cut fries. Ambiance: music was top 40s at low volume. 3 tables of 20 somethings chilling and catching up over drinks and or food and not rushing to get out of there. Diner like tables and booths. Local Brooklyn photos and memorabilia on the walls. Service: one waitress and one cook. Waitress was nice and quiet, but table service was poor. I didn't mind. Others may. Example: no napkins on table and I needed to ask for them. Ketchup dispenser empty so they brought ketchup packets. Didn't bring soda to table; I went up to grab myself. Never asked how the meal was or if I needed anything. Went up to the counter to ask for and pay bill. Noted other tables had minimal to no table service.

Menu has not been updated since the new owners took over so there are still options for bacon and sausage on the breakfast menu that are not available. My partner asked for sausage and was given a beef hotdog. With breakfast? Radio (with ads) playing really loudly through busted speakers didn’t help the vibe. Huge disappointment, especially since this is the closest spot to get a bite near my apartment. Advice to owners: get the menu in order *before* you open for business.

Previously known as Angelica’s Coffee Shop. New management has changed this establishment for the worse, unfortunately. Waited very long for our order and were told that one of the orders was not available after waiting so we decided to just leave instead of waiting longer. Also noticed that the water tasted off and the glasses were dirty. Employees seemed very disorganized. Just before leaving we happened to glance in the kitchen and found that one of the people who were sitting behind our booth for the majority of the time we were there was in fact a cook from the kitchen. We were not eager to find out what the food cooked by someone barely in the kitchen tasted like.

This place has degraded in quality and is fundamentally broken since changing from Angelica's to Serenity. I ordered breakfast sandwiches with pork sausage before, but today I received a chorizo sausage sandwich. Nowhere on the Seamless menu does it say chorizo. Update: Nov 2024. Decided to try again and see if they improved their services. Not at all. Still received chorizo. Menu has not been updated. This place is a joke.

It used to be Angelica’s Coffee Shop but new owners bought the place. The new name is Serenity cafe, the food is bad now, they still continue to use Angelica’s Coffee shops name, even though it is NOT Angelica’s. Nothing about this place can compare to what it used to be.

Thought it was strange that it was empty at lunch on the weekend. No real guidance when we walked in on where to sit. Food order and getting the food was slow. Air conditioner leaked water all over one of our party's purse. No one really apologized about the water, just helped moving us to another table. When the bill came, saw a 4% service fee. Asked two people what that was and neither gave me a clear answer besides "it was always there". Not sure what we paid 4% for. There's much better places in the area that deserve (and want) your business, go elsewhere.

Got food delivered from here and was missing a whole entree. The bacon was extremely burnt and there were fly eggs on the food. Maybe dine-in is a different experience but am pretty sad about the delivery.

I would strongly advised from eating in this establishment. My boyfriend and I ordered crêpes l(Nutella, strawberries and banana) and an order of pancakes (apples, walnuts, cinnamon and honey). I called and ordered ahead for a pick up order, and I specifically asked for NO walnuts on the pancakes, she even repeated the order back to me correctly with no walnuts. When we got there, everybody was nice and told us our order would be ready in a few minutes. No problem. At one point, I look over to one of the servers near the coffee area and I see her smothering a bunch of Nutella on top of what looks like a pancake a very thin one. I think to myself there’s no way that could be my crêpe because that’s definitely not what crêpes look like. Also, the Nutella is on the outside when it should be on the inside as the filling. Then I see it has strawberries on it and the next thing I noticed is she peels a banana and put it directly on the stainless steel counter, that is very clearly not meant for food because it’s the area where there are rags and coffee cups all over the place. I’ve worked in the food industry for 15 years. I definitely know that is a HUGE violation and major cross Contamination will happen. Because I am pregnant, I am very paranoid about the things I am eating, so the idea of eating fruit that was just cut on a dirty counter did not thrill me. I walked over to the server to ask if that was my food to which she said yes. I explained my concern about the fruit cutting and I understand it was a busy morning and the kitchen was packed. Fine, even if there was no room in the kitchen area, at the very least use a cutting board! She threw away the order and asked if I wanted a new one made, I declined. I saw my boyfriend’s order came all done and ready from the kitchen. So we just took his, the smoothie and the hot chocolate we ordered. To our huge disappointment when we got back home with the food, he could not eat the pancakes as it was covered in walnuts after we asked not to and she even repeated it back. There was also no cinnamon and no honey. Just pancakes with walnuts thrown on top and an Apple diced and thrown on top. Very sloppy. Very unappetizing. The whole experience was very disappointing. It didn’t occur to me to check when I was there but I went to check their inspection grade and it’s still pending. I would be cautious eating here if you have allergies or compromised immune system as you never know where they are preparing your food and how.

The photos are deceiving. The food is bland and tastes bad. Please stay away. The coffee was wrong, the silver dollar pancakes taste like they’re frozen and defrosted. The pancakes taste like thickened crepe batter maybe? No flavor and weird textures. Also took forever to get silverware, my eggs got cold. Also no decaf :(

The place looks nice, but the experience was very disappointing. Although the menu is mostly Mexican food, the kitchen clearly does not know how to cook Mexican dishes. We ordered huevos rancheros, which the menu states come with toast and fries, but only the fries were served. The chilaquiles were made with pita chips instead of tortilla chips, which is unacceptable for a Mexican dish. We also ordered a waffle with Nutella and strawberries. After a long delay, it arrived plain, without any toppings. Due to the excessive wait time, we asked to cancel the waffle, but it was eventually brought out again—this time with the toppings and at no charge. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive, and we had to repeatedly point out mistakes to the waiter. Overall, poor execution, long waits, and lack of attention to detail made this a very frustrating experience.

My husband and I came here for a quick breakfast. The server was great however the food was highly disappointing. My husband ordered eggs and beef sausage and he got one beef sausage which we’re pretty sure was a beef hot dog. I ordered French toast which was cold and not fresh. I had to return them and ordered a bagel instead. We came here last year before the new management and decided to give it another chance but definitely would not return.

This is what used to be Angelica’s. Ignore the menu on their website, and ignore the menu they posted using their own account here on Google; those have nothing to do with what they serve. They now have a single sheet of paper, single sided, with unreadably small font. There is nothing for vegans here except the fruit salad, unfortunately. You might think from some of the menu descriptions that they have vegan savory food, but everything has eggs or milk or cream. Pity! Nice staff who mean well, but they are clearly not yet accustomed to serving customers who have food allergies or different dietary restrictions. They don’t have decaf coffee but they do have herbal tea. I would not return here unless I see an updated menu where the font is readable and where it’s specified if something is vegan or vegetarian. Many other restaurants do this. Also, it’s a bit weird that their front door doesn’t shut completely. Very cold in the winter! I guess that’s why they don’t have a coat rack, because you have to keep on all of your outdoor gear! It is halal, so that’s good.

This is what used to be Angelica’s. Ignore the menu on their website, and ignore the menu they posted using their own account here on Google; those have nothing to do with what they serve. They now have a single sheet of paper, single sided, with unreadably small font. There is nothing for vegans here except the fruit salad, unfortunately. You might think from some of the menu descriptions that they have vegan savory food, but everything has eggs or milk or cream. Pity! Nice staff who mean well, but they are clearly not yet accustomed to serving customers who have food allergies or different dietary restrictions. They don’t have decaf coffee but they do have herbal tea. I would not return here unless I see an updated menu where the font is readable and where it’s specified if something is vegan or vegetarian. Many other restaurants do this. Also, it’s a bit weird that their front door doesn’t shut completely. Very cold in the winter! I guess that’s why they don’t have a coat rack, because you have to keep on all of your outdoor gear! It is halal, so that’s good.

My husband and I came here for a quick breakfast. The server was great however the food was highly disappointing. My husband ordered eggs and beef sausage and he got one beef sausage which we’re pretty sure was a beef hot dog. I ordered French toast which was cold and not fresh. I had to return them and ordered a bagel instead. We came here last year before the new management and decided to give it another chance but definitely would not return.

The place looks nice, but the experience was very disappointing. Although the menu is mostly Mexican food, the kitchen clearly does not know how to cook Mexican dishes. We ordered huevos rancheros, which the menu states come with toast and fries, but only the fries were served. The chilaquiles were made with pita chips instead of tortilla chips, which is unacceptable for a Mexican dish. We also ordered a waffle with Nutella and strawberries. After a long delay, it arrived plain, without any toppings. Due to the excessive wait time, we asked to cancel the waffle, but it was eventually brought out again—this time with the toppings and at no charge. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive, and we had to repeatedly point out mistakes to the waiter. Overall, poor execution, long waits, and lack of attention to detail made this a very frustrating experience.

The photos are deceiving. The food is bland and tastes bad. Please stay away. The coffee was wrong, the silver dollar pancakes taste like they’re frozen and defrosted. The pancakes taste like thickened crepe batter maybe? No flavor and weird textures. Also took forever to get silverware, my eggs got cold. Also no decaf :(

When it was Angelica’s, this place used to be fantastic. I was a regular for 10 years. Ever since ownership changed, the place has become an unmitigated disaster. The staff is absolutely clueless and ALWAYS get deliveries wrong. Not exaggerating- I got the wrong food for the last 6 delivery orders I placed. Today was the last straw. The huevos en salsa verde used to be my go to - it was incredible (and notably simple). I ordered for delivery, but instead, (belatedly) got an order of (gross-looking) nachos. When I called, they astonishingly told me that I had been sent the right order - it was clear they didn’t even understand the difference between the different Mexican dishes on the menu they inherited from the previous owners. When I finally persuaded them the huevos en salsa verde and nachos were NOT the same thing, they sent (at this point 2 hours after my order) a lump of burned beans and flavorless jasmine (not Mexican) rice. Absolutely gross. They've lost my business for good. STAY AWAY!!!!

On a Sunday we sat down at 12:05 and didn’t get to order until 12:40 and didn’t get our food unlit 1:25, with each delivered separately with lots of time in between. Burger also leaked grease like water is wrung out of a dishcloth. Fries were undercooked and soggy and some had green edges. Reuben was not a Reuben-just pastrami on a roll. My souvlaki has a small fried chicken cutlet (not what one would expects and not listed on the menu) and much more browning iceberg than chicken. One of us never got thier food but we had to leave. Burger was rare and when asked for well done.
