A very homely atmosphere, and Brother Jake, Brother Dino (the owner) and Sister Sarah were so welcoming and kind and warm towards all the customers and their recommendations. I ordered their specialty burgers and some truffle fries as well, and it was well worth the money Spent! Please stop by at your own convenience and, you are going to have a relaxed and a fun time over here
This is the best burger in town - mostly because they specialize in burgers, and they grind their own meat. The toppings and combos they come up with are amazing. I love the one smothered in gruyere, onions, a balsamic reduction and bacon. I love this place so much I went last night for my birthday. It was just my husband and I, and I was in a burger mood - and when am, this is my 'special treat burger place. Their fries are out of this world and the ambiance - hipster, dark, moody, industrial, cool - is perfect for a burger and a beer. I asked to have a chair on the ground instead of a stool on my OoenTable reservation since I'm pretty pregnant right now and didn't want to be wobbling. They didn't see that note till later and that kind of table wasn't available. The host was so sweet - he swapped out my regular stool with a barstool that had a back to it so I had more support and it was perfect. It was a lovely evening with top notch food.
Oh my god!! Totally worth the two and a half hour drive to buffalo… this burger was absolutely the best burger I have had in well over 5 years absolutely amazing I had the re incarnation of the Big Mac and made it a double and added bacon…. So amazing will most definitely be coming back here next time I pass through killer burgers!!! Don’t listen to the locals this place is the place to be !!!
Popped in from out of town and had a great experience. Bartenders were super helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Great and inexpensive beers.
Delicious food! This is our go to burger joint in Buffalo. Prime location on Allen street and fun yet casual vibe. Our waitress Francesca made our visit extraordinary. She was humorous, attentive, and very engaging with the menu. She made you feel like you were the only people in the restaurant- truly makes this place go above and beyond!! I recommend this place to anyone in town!
All the reviews of this establishment are SPOT ON! Great food, wonderful service, Especially Heather :) great vibe atmosphere! I'd recommend the #2 with truffle fries.
Went here for the first time, Heather was our waitress and she was wonderful. I got the #14 after being super indecisive I randomly picked one lol. It ended up being wonderful. It was a French onion soup burger and came with an au jus and wow everything was so flavorful. Simple burger not super huge which I was happy about and still couldn’t finish it. Tater tots are very good too and fries were delicious.
I've been using the phrase "a religious food experience" a few times, and it's another time where the food fit that phrase. Had the #2 (burger with horseradish aoli and au jus with a Kimmelweck roll. Didn't disappoint, however exceeded my expectations. It was hopping in there due to Buffalo Pride weekend, and BUSY was an understatement. Ordered the burger medium rare and got exactly that. The roll was super fresh, loaded with what you expect on top. Salty, with all the caraway seeds just kept adding flavor. The au jus....excellent. I was urged by my dinner companion that I "HAVE" to have the tots. Tasted better than home-made. My mom's a good cook, but they blew hers out of the water. Washed it down with an unsweetened iced tea. Good quality brew.
Nice place to get with some friends and have a good time. Very relaxing atmosphere, not a pretentious menu. Good vibes, down to earth people with an excellent combination of great quality ingredients and skilled kitchen personnel. I had the lobster roll with some homemade tots. No critics, just a preference. I will add a wedge of lime to help balance the dish adding acidity. It was delicious! Bread was buttery and fluffy, Lobster was excellent, and the tots were amazing. I will go back to try more from the menu.
The burger with pork chili verde was outstanding. Pure comfort food. It had a bit of a kick to it, which I loved. I upgraded to parmesan truffle fries and it was totally worth it! The dipping sauce that comes with the parmesan fries is perfection. The service here is good. The drink list is extensive. And the food is on point!
I had the Schilling Alexander for a lighter beer to pair with the Number Six, pulled pork and an onion ring on a burger. Bartender was helpful with suggestions and attentive while I was there. The burger was spot on medium, the cheese nice and melty and the pulled pork was tender and the sauce nice and tangy. Definitely a spot to recommend for a burger and beer stop! Side note, the gentleman next to me ordered the calamari and it was more than enough for a group!
Oh this place is the only place to get a real good burger in my opinion. I take my meat very seriously, and so does the ABV! Their meat is always fresh, if I'm not mistaken it's also pasture raised and grass fed (like how it should be) their burgers are decent sized and very flavorful. My partner drinks IPAs and drafts and they always have a good selection. Indoor seating is a chill bar atmosphere with lots of cool album decor. The outside has a nice patio to chill on and hang out with friends, and they also have table seating. Last time I was there I sat outside next to some flowers, it was very nice. Definitely recommend this place, will keep going back here 💯
This place never disappoints, burgers are made with fresh not frozen ground beef, and I love the tots. Best burger in Buffalo!
Without question, the place for burgers within 2,000 miles. I've tried 5 different burgers now and 2 specialty burgers and they're all amazing in their own way. You can not go wrong with you're choice! Plus friendly staff and well stocked bar, with TVs to watch some sports. Honestly what more do you need?
Decent wait in a pretty small "waiting area," but definitely worth it. The wings were fantastic and perfectly cooked. For smashed style burgers both mine and my wife's were perfectly cooked. Great fries as well. The real star is the beer selection. Huge list of big names in craft beer and an even bigger whiskey list. A new favorite in Buffalo.
The lobster roll with bacon is soooooooooooooooo good. The truffle fries are perfect. Calamari is crispy and tender. I had a flight of Uncle Nearest. *Chef's kiss* added: My friend had one if the salad's topped with the spicy tuna. It was crisp, tangy, savory and dressed perfectly. I will be trying a salad next visit (which you can have topped with options from burger menu.)
Went for late night bite and a drink with a friend and ABV did not disappoint. The food and the service were great and really enjoyed my cocktail that night. For food, we had the DDD Nashville Hot Chicken and the Calamari. Both tasted delicious and I definitely recommend the chicken if you're looking for a lite bite. Drink-wise, I had the Airmail as my drink of choice and it was well made and tasted great. It was rum, sparkling wine, honey, and lime. Internsive atmosphere I would definitely recommend enjoying the outside at least while the weather‘s nice and they even have a fire pit area.
Every time I come to Buffalo, I have to come here. And I drag any newcomers as well. It sounds crazy to say, but this might be the best burger I have ever eaten, and it is consistently good. Everyone who comes agrees, even after all the hype I give it.
I don’t know if anyone remembers the Gusto article about the best burgers in Buffalo but that article was what led me to try this place out and I have to say, I don’t even remember where that article ranked ABV but they are easily in my #1 when it comes to burgers. I love the variety and the complimentary ingredients and their fries are just to die for. I’m salivating thinking about it. I think this spot is a must for anyone who loves a good burger.
This place is a gem. If you haven't been and enjoy a good burger, please do yourself a favor and go. It's a bit pricey but well worth it. They have great app options and great drinks. They have their own beer and cocktails, both of which were amazing. My wife has dietary restrictions. They use grass-fed organic beef, so she was able to have the burger. Both ours were fantastic. We upgraded to the truffle fries, and I recommend you do the same. The server was knowledgeable, polite, and on point. Our food came quite fast, I'd say too fast, but I prefer my food served hot so no complaints there. For our app, we had the calamari, spicy version * 5 stars there. We will be going back 100%.
Burgers, bourbon, and bodacious Bodegas. 2 of these you can find at the Allen Burger Venture and you will not leave disappointed. It is busy, and for good reason. The food is amazing and a must try for those burger lovers when in the Buffalo area. Prices are reasonable and pair it with a whiskey/bourbon or a local beer on tap.
Traveling home from Rochester (visited family over Memorial Day weekend). Detoured to Niagra Falls. Afterward, wife and sis in law researched lunch spots. Nice variety of options, including gluten-free items. The atmosphere was engaging in that there were hundreds of album covers posted on the walls. Lively conversation regarding all the different genres of music. My wife ordered the Five on a gluten-free bun. I had one of the specials. Other family members tried different options, and we were all thoroughly impressed with the preparation, presentation, and taste of our meals. I subbed a ceasar salad (pictured), and I will say this was the best burger I've had in recent memory. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. This was a very enjoyable experience and worth the money spent. If I'm ever in Buffalo again, there's no doubt I'll be visiting this establishment again and again.
Best burger I’ve ever had! So well balanced and bursting with flavor!! Hubby loved his as well. Had mine with a salad and gluten free bun - hubby had onion rings.
I came here alone, before my flight. The place wasn't busy, since I came in, within the hour of opening. Right as I was being seated , I was given water and the drink's and food menu. I actually already knew what I wanted (having google searched the menu ahead of time). The server was consistent and very kind. The food arrived quickly enough and was superb. The Loaded Totts with Applesauce dip!?✨️🤌🏾✨️ First time ever eating such a pairing. Yet, somehow they worked perfectly together.👀.. For my meal, I got the Truffle Fries with a Black Bean Burger. It's not easy finding good veggitarian alternatives around the way. I was quite surprised by the food. I give the Quality and taste a 9.5/10 Price, 10/10 Portions 10/10 Just a heads up for the Black Bean Burger, it will fall apart on you if you don't cut along the linning of the bread and eat the burger meat around the sides first.. You'll know what I mean, when you see it. The buns were amaizing, the "patty" was as dry/thick as I would expect from a Black Bean veggie Burger. Not to say it's a bad thing, I'm happy it wasn't soggy. I'd say the texture works perfectly with the taste. Just be sure to keep water near by. The Truffle fries were perfect, that's all I need to say about those. Do yourself a favour..Get the Truffle Fries! I didn't get any alcoholic beverages, (because airport), but I'm sure they would've been amaizing. The general atmosphere was very cozy and fun. I whent in the winter, so I had a beautiful winter wonderland type view. But I'm sure this place is just as beautiful in the Spring, Summer, and Fall! I highly recomend this place to anyone bringing, a date, some friends for a night out, family for lunch, or even themselves for some Me Myself and I bonding time! You won't regret it.🤗
My husband and I are from out of town and we’re waking by this place. From outside, it looked like a cool place so we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was great even though it wasn’t very busy as it was a Sunday night. We sat at the bar. They were only serving a late night menu with limited options. The decor was nice. Our bartender Jake was friendly, made great suggestions for food and drinks. We ordered the goat cheese grilled cheese sandwich with fries. I must say this is one the best grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve ever had! It was delicious! We ordered beers as per Jakes recommendation, and they were really good. Since it was a whiskey bar, we had taken shots, again as per Jake’s suggestion. We weren’t disappointed. Would definitely go back if I’m ever in buffalo again.
Service on a late Monday afternoon was fast and easygoing. Free open wifi (no password, so use your VPN, and sense), great atmosphere (even the restrooms have character), in a charming part of town (gotta love Allentown). Burger came fairly rare, so be sure to specify how you want it cooked if you're not into a lot of pink. Very flexible on how to prepare, and no problem getting the sauce on the side. Lena D. was great. Great beer and whiskey selection! Superb variety. When I wasn't sure what beer to try next, they offered a few samples to try based on my stated tastes. They even have a cheaper little 5 oz pour available for draft beers. Of course, you pay a premium for this level of quality. Impress the partners when you take them out for dinner and drinks (just uber/lyft to and from).
I recently visited Allen Burger Venture and I have to say, I was blown away by the quality of the food. The burgers were simply amazing - juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I also tried the tater tots, which were a must-try - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and absolutely delicious. What I appreciated most about Allen Burger Venture was the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to bring a date - cozy and intimate, with great food and drinks to enjoy. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was top-notch. In addition to the fantastic burgers and tater tots, the menu at Allen Burger Venture is creative and diverse, with options to suit all tastes. Whether you're in the mood for a classic burger or something a little more unique, you're sure to find something that satisfies. Overall, I highly recommend checking out Allen Burger Venture for anyone looking for amazing burgers and a great date spot. The food is fantastic, the tater tots are a must-try, and the atmosphere is perfect for a cozy night out. Five stars! - During my first visit here, I was not hungry and was just accompanying my friends. I did not order anything, Kitchen was closing and our server was very nice and gave us a free burger since we intended to order more. I will not forget this experience and she had made our visit SO much better!
A running joke in my family is that we judge a restaurant by their calamari. We’ll, ABV just topped our list. Actually, all of the food was delicious. We sat on the patio on a perfect pre-Memorial Day weekend. Couldn’t have had a better experience. Our waitress and the host were great as well.
Absolutely the best burgers that I have ever had in Buffalo, NY! I've been here 4 times now and every time I am amazed at just how mouth-wateringly delicious they can make these burgers. This time I had the #3- with caramelized onions, Applewood bacon and porter cheese. I can't wait to come back for the next one 😀
Stopped in for lunch at noon on a Saturday. Plenty of room when we arrived but that did not last long. The service was on point. The kitchen delivered flawlessly and all at my table praised their dishes. I choose an unusual offering, the bangers and mash burger. The menu has a good variety of options. I will visit here again.
The wings are incredible! Cooked perfectly- moist and tender inside, crispy outside. The menu offers unique burger options, and I wanted to try all of them. I chose the smash burger and truffle fries, which were delicious. We had our foster dog with us so we sat outside, which has a fun, relaxed atmosphere. There are high tables and stools, and there is a patio area to lounge in with comfortable furniture, a tv, and fire pits. The service was absolutely perfect. We were clearly visitors, but felt welcome right away. The kind owners came over to speak with us, brought treats and water for our dog, and joked around with my kids. The waitress was knowledgeable, sweet, and quick. We had an unfortunate situation involving our car after we had left. The owners went out of their way to help us out, and truly without their help, I’m not sure how we would’ve managed. We were just passing through New York on the way to my father’s funeral, and I’m so glad this is where we decided to stop. If you are wondering where to stop for lunch, dinner, or drinks- I highly recommend ABV’s. This place has it all- A+ food, service, and good people. Thank you ABV crew!
Vintage spacious restaurant with woody rustic retro vinyl decor, posters, decent bar and very friendly staff… Love the burgers and amazing choices… the smash burgers are too good too… Shared plates options available… Don’t forget to ask for tater tots, they’re the best… I cannot wait to go back for a hearty meal… my mouth is watering while writing this review… lol
Had an incredible experience at ABV tonight. We were treated by the most gracious host who made us immediately feel welcome and set the tone for a fantastic meal. Her name was Val. Then our table server Rachel was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed even when the kitchen was about to close. Prince, brought us our meals and again made sure we had everything we needed with a smile. And finally, Heather who waited on other tables still checked on us even when we weren't part of her area. I am going to miss these folks when ABV closes and will follow this staff where ever they end up. If you are looking for the varsity team to add to your staff please find these four and higher them, stat!
Just ordered takeout. My first time there but other family has been here. The burgers were great and the tots and fries were as well. The dip with the tots is excellent. I would like to go again though I have heard they are going to be closing down soon 😥
I normally love this place. However, this one hostess on 11/21/25 at 6ish was very rude to my family. She had a bad temper and used a very strong tone when talking to us. We were told we would have a seat in 10-20 min only for our table to be given to another party. She then claimed she never said anything to us. Anyways I love the food and it’s still one of my favorite places.
Allen burger venture was a random Google that did not disappoint. Small(hole in the wall spot) popular place that I was able to have an amazing burger and fabulous tater tots, wings. The parking was interesting but I managed.. They have a bar, bar tables an outdoor patio and a few tables inside if you have a family. It’s one of those places you need on your bucket list. The food was faaaaaantastic, the waitress was very attentive & did I mention the burger was fantastic? Trying new places for burgers can be tough, but this was a good decision & you’re welcome in advance :o)
Loved everything about this place! Stopped here for lunch in our trip to Buffalo which ended up to be a great choice! Burgers and beers are super delicious, salads are fresh and tasty, the staff is super friendy and professional, they that walked us through the menu and all their recommendations were super! Enjoyed the decoration and atmosphere too. The place is outstanding and can have you get back here as soon as you can!
The FOURTEEN Burger (Caramelized French Onions & Broth Au Jus, Gruyere, Toasted Gruyere Bun) is by far the best burger I’ve ever had. Their burgers are unique, the atmosphere is an intimate bar scene with TVs to watch a game, great beer selection, and AMAZING service. Their tater tots are THE BEST. I haven’t visited a place like this in a long time. The best bar/restaurant I’ve visited thus far. I will forever recommend this place. YOU MUST TRY!
Allen Burger Venture will truly have you wanting to come back again and again. The burger options are so much fun and I know I want to try them all. The restaurant is nice inside and has a chill atmosphere. There is outside seating available as well when the weather is right! The entire staff was super friendly and our service was great. Even when we had a missing item, they jumped on it and did it up right. The food itself got very positive reviews overall from our party. Someone who got the salad loved the freshness of the ingredients and how well the flavors came together. The others including myself got burgers. The one thing we all agreed upon is that the burgers themselves slightly missed the mark on the type of cook we asked for and the burger itself just tasted like a burger. That is the one thing that slightly missed the mark here, but don't get me wrong that didn't make it bad. Everything that goes onto these burgers depending on what you get is what really shines. The pulled pork I had was phenomenal and would have more of that just by itself, truly incredible. The fries were also very good, well made and seasoned. Allen Burger Venture is easy to recommend and there is absolutely something for everyone here. We never when we will be back in the area but until then I hope all of you Enjoy!!

Great restaurant, bummed it's closing! They have the best tater tot's. burgers are really good, parking can be a pain since it's street parking.

Enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch here with my husband recently. We had the tater tots to start and enjoyed it very much. The tots are homemade and done well. It was also the perfect sized app for us to share and still have room for our burgers. The two dipping sauces that accompanied the tots were great too. My husband liked the sweeter apple cider sauce while I enjoyed the more savory sour cream and chive sauce. We each had a beef burger. He enjoyed the “eight” while I enjoyed the “four.” My burger was absolutely wonderful. The brioche bun was perfectly toasted and not soggy at all. The patty itself had a great crust with good seasoning and great flavor. It was also perfectly cooked and juicy. The toppings were great too and perfectly balanced with the amount of burger you get. Being that I couldn’t enjoy an adult beverage at the time, I cannot attest to how well the drinks are made; but they have a great selection of liquors, cocktails and beers! I can’t wait to return when I can enjoy an adult beverage and a burger at the same time!
Been to Buffalo a couple of times recently (my son and his wife live there). This burger joint is busy and eclectic and the burgers are outstanding as well. The Midwest Double Smash, Fourteen French Onion Burger Special and even the SW Chicken Burger were tasty. Everyone was satisfied. Although I picked up the bill. Figures... Will come back and try a different burger. Go Bills!
Great atmosphere and good food. The tots are divine (like fluffy, round latkes) and the truffle fries had an awesome flavor. We got some of the non-meat options: the apple walnut salad was huge ($14) and came with a light dressing - perfect for the summer. The black bean burger was massive ($14) and came with fries. The wings weren't the best, but that's not really why you would come here. Service was slow, but the place was starting to get a little busy after we were there for about an hour.
I was told this place had the same owner as the Thin man, and I could see it in the decor. I had been meaning to try this place, iand I was not disappointed. The service was friendly and fast, and it has a nice relaxed atmosphere. I had the calamari, which was excellent with the spicy and sweet sauce served with it. My friend had the burger with peanut butter on it which never even occurred to me to do ever. He said it was amazing. The crowd starts to pick up at night, but is reasonable between 5 and 7:30. I can't wait to go back!
Great, local pub! Recommended by our hotel. The place was well decorated and known for their burgers. The parents got specialized burgers (#2 and #8) while the kids got stacked burgers. I stole some bites from the kids and I liked the stacked burgers! They have 1-4 patties. The fries were also awesome! Wonderful service as well. Highly recommend this place.
Really tasty food quick service pretty sure the nice lady behind the counter could tell. We were having a rough time and give us a free pretzel. Overall, really good experience and kind of turned a whole whole day around. A bit pricey otherwise I’d give it five stars, but it was good.
I can only describe the menu (specifically burgers) as whimsical, if you lean into the ridiculous ingredients you’ll enjoy this place. I got the number 6 and was pleasantly surprised, the bun was soft and delicious, the meat was flavorful it could’ve used maybe onions or lettuce but it was still great! They’re sorta skimpy on the sides for the price point but otherwise a fun place to eat at for special occasions! Their service is very quick and friendly additionally, they offer mock tails for non drinkers.
The Wyck Recommendation: Allen Burger Venture Rating: 3.7/5 Come for the Sauce, Stay for the Scene It’s 6:47 p.m. and someone’s tot just hit the pavement. A buzzed table claps, another orders picklebacks, and a kid walks by wearing a T-shirt that just says “MEAT.” Welcome to Allen Burger Venture. Part beer flight temple, part Buffalo street party. It’s packed, it’s proud, and somehow still pulling it off. What Was Ordered Beer flight with six mystery brews: cider, stout, something aggressively pink The Famous Tots — crispy orbs more hash-brown than tot, but dunked in that apple bacon sauce? Whole other level. The house sour cream was decent, but the apple dip stole the show. Tater-wise: they’re fine. Sauce-wise: elite. Service Commentary Despite the patio crowd and beer chaos, service held strong. Our server was friendly, attentive, and didn’t miss a beat. The kind of low-key excellent that keeps things running without trying too hard. No complaints, just good energy. Vibe Check Imagine a Buffalo beer nerd bar collided with a punk-themed Airbnb. Everyone’s slightly sunburnt, a few are flirting badly, and every table feels like it’s one drink away from starting a podcast. Loud, local, sweaty in a charming way. The Space Itself Inside: neon buffalo signs, low lighting, rainbow string lights, and enough barstools to rotate through three life crises Outside: umbrella forest. Split-level patios. Loud music. Uneven steps. Basically a backyard party thrown by someone with Yelp anxiety Bathroom hallway? One door has a rooster. One has a rabbit. And John Travolta is reading on the toilet. No further notes. About the Neighborhood Allen Street. Buffalo. You know the deal. Tattooed dads, cyclists drinking IPAs, weird art in windows. Easy to get to, hard to leave without bumping into someone from 2014. Hits and Misses ✓ Beer flight is fun and broad. Fruity to dark without filler ✓ Apple bacon dipping sauce deserves merch ✓ Vibe is laid-back chaos in the best way ✓ Service was friendly and efficient despite the crowd ✗ Taters are tasty but closer to fried stuffing balls than actual tots ✗ Restroom signage feels like a riddle from a barback’s dream ✗ Patio layout is a choose-your-own-adventure in stair navigation Final Verdict Allen Burger Venture feels like a local bar that grew up but never stopped partying. The tots were solid, but the sauces carried the team. We didn’t try the burgers this round — which, judging by the reviews, might’ve been the move. We’ll be back to test that theory. Until then: cheers, chaos, and apple bacon dip. Rating: 3.7 out of 5 Perfect For Third dates with beer snobs Recovering after your cousin’s art show
We placed an order for two standout menu items: the Number 2 sandwich, which featured New York State cheddar, caraway and horseradish aioli, and came with au jus dipping sauce. We opted to substitute the side of tater tots, which turned out to be a wise choice. The second order, Number 10, was an absolute delight with caramelized onions, fresh arugula, warm gruyere cheese, applewood smoked bacon, and a balsamic reduction. We swapped out the standard side for truffle fries, which was another excellent decision. The caramelized onions in Number 10 elevated the patty’s flavor, providing a rich yet comforting sweetness that paired beautifully with the savory meat. The cheese was melted to perfection, adding a layer of gooey indulgence that brought the entire dish together. The balance of ingredients in this dish was spot on, making it not only flavorful but also surprisingly light. I’d highly recommend Number 10 over Number 2, mainly because the patty was juicier, and the overall composition felt more satisfying. Number 2, while flavorful in its own right, didn’t quite measure up in terms of juiciness or portion size, especially with the tater tots, which were disappointing—just five small pieces felt like a letdown. If you’re after a satisfying side, the truffle fries are definitely the way to go, as they perfectly complemented the meal with their crispiness and rich truffle flavor. The indoor ambiance of the restaurant is just as impressive as the food. The decor is eclectic and vibrant, with various art pieces and quirky touches that make the space feel both cozy and intriguing. It’s an atmosphere that draws you in and encourages you to stay a little longer, whether you’re there for a meal or just to take in the surroundings. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot. From the food to the ambiance, it’s an experience worth having, especially if you’re looking for a meal that’s both indulgent and memorable.
Tasty food and excellent service! We visited Buffalo and decided to get lunch at Allen Burger Venture from a recommendation. This ended up being a great choice as we left very satisfied! We (a group of 4) waited about 10 minutes to be seated and another 10-15 to see our waitress, but otherwise, the service was great! Our waitress Lotty was so bubbly and helpful in giving us recommendations and explaining the menu. She and another staff member (host? I don't remember his name, but I remember his favorite burger is Number 11) made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. As for the food, for the most part, everything was great! The rest of my group had the hot calamari and said it was excellent. We also comfortably shared the Artisan Caesar salad - the sharp cambozola and garlic compliment each other very well. The burgers (we can vouch for the 4, 5, 12, and candied garlic burger) were great as well. I had the 12, and although it was good, the combination of the bun with chunks of salt on it, prosciutto, and side fried made the overall meal a bit too salty for me. I finished the burger but felt a bit dehydrated afterward and would request a normal bun if I were to get this burger again. Overall, we would definitely come back if we are in the area, and I would be curious to try some of their other burgers!
Great food, service, beer, and atmosphere. Bummed they are closing. The homemade tots with apple jam are incredible

Went for dinner after the bills game. Even though it was crowded, we got right in and service was good. Food was good, the place was very loud.

Great food. Cool atmosphere. Had to have buffalo wings being as we were in Buffalo. Beyond burgers available too. Lots of beers but was unable to sample any today.

This place was...ok... My food was fine and my drinks were fine. My only complaint was that after our food we waited about an hour before we saw a waiter/waitress again to get more drinks or the bill. My party didn't have a good time. A member of my party got a burger that was overcooked and dry. He said it tasted like it was freshly frozen. Another party member is a vegan who ordered a bean burger and wanted to replace the fries with tots. He wasn't told about the change in cost, which ended up being $3 or 5 tots. They ended up paying more than everyone while simultaneously getting far less food. My party pressured me to mark this place as a 3. They said that they loved eating here before the pandemic. They hope that a harsh review will help revive the original quality they enjoyed.
Ive eaten there 3 times over the last 2 years and still not sure how this place gets such great reviews. They're not bad, but should closer to a four star rating, than a 5. Decent food, burgers are way overrated, place is always packed though.
ABV is the place to be if you want to start your evening off right. The vibe is cool almost have you thinking that you’re in a club, (because of the time I came 7pm). The lighting was dim with a purplish/blue tone & it’s kind of dark inside. Also the seating is fairly close, this was surprising to me during these Covid times. I feel a few tables should be removed to open up the place a bit. Would I come back? Probably not. If I did though, it would be for the drinks. The order- #4-All American cheeseburger with LTO and a sauce. I really enjoyed how fresh everything on the burger was. I didn’t have that heavy, “awww why did I eat that burger” feeling that lingers for hours. But, for me the burger was just to plain. I felt it lack some better seasonings on the patty itself. The Big Daddy- Grilled cheese burger made completely different than I thought. I expected a burger sandwiched in between two grilled cheese sandwiches. What I got was a burger with the bun inside out, with the cheese melted on the top of the bun. Again, even this burger lacked flavor. Truffled Parmesan wings- If you like sauce you’ll love these. I really didn’t taste the truffle. But the wings were crispy and had a white sauce with Parmesan flakes on top. The sauce almost reminded me of Alfredo. Last thoughts- I would like for ABV to look into changing the type of cheese they are using for their burgers. I think using a more gooey cheese would do wonders. Nothing beats biting into a burger and seeing a string of cheese bridging the gap.
People in my foodie group were raving about the burgers here, ....I don't get it. My friend and I both agreed you could go buy some ground beef, season it with some salt and cook it at home and save yourself $20. There was nothing special about the burger at all. It was quite greasy, the only flavor I detected was a little bit of salt, it was just so bland. ...and the french fries and onion rings were bland, there was nothing flavorful about anything we got here. Nothing to write home about and would not come back. If you want an amazing burger that will actually impress you, go to the Gin Mill in ellicottville. THAT is a delicious Burger. Service was good, our waitress was helpful and friendly, the atmosphere of the place was nice but the food was just mediocre.
We picked this place based on some reviews and the rating. We ordered the number Eight Sunny Side with Tots and the number Three Carmelized with French Fries. We also got the Onion Rings as an App. This place also served Craft Beer and Craft Cocktails as well as Wine. The Onion Rings were very good and a Highlight of the Meal. I ordered the number Eight Burger Medium Rare, again this was cooked to the Well Done temperature. The Burger was so dry the Sahara Desert was Green with Jealousy. The Sunny Side Up Egg had a Hard Fried Yolk. I didn't like the Tots but the Fries were really good. The number Three was Dried out as well and the Bacon needed to be slightly more cooked. I have to give a shout out to our Waitress (Michelle). She did an excellent job and took care of us.

Great location on Allen, but unfortunately that’s about all it has going for it these days. Very sad to see how much the quality of this place has gone down since it opened. It used to to have hand cut fries and the burgers were a good size with a nice homemade brioche bun. Now they have just gave up and the fires are standard frozen, the bun is some weird biscuit/bun hybrid thing. It took forever to get our food. Sad to see. Used to be so good and consistent, don’t waste your money here especially with the prices for the quality.
Based on what I had heard from others, I had high hopes for ABV but was rather disappointed. Everything was killed with seasoning and finish - over salted tater tots, over cooked burgers, and an overly peppered salad. The prices are very steep, especially considering the quality of food that we received. I appreciate the gluten free options and then having a dedicated fryer for fries/tater tots, and our server was knowledgeable about what was truly GF (heads up, the carmelized onions are cooked in beer so they are not GF!). The menu was intriguing and I would consider coming back if the prices and quality of the food were better.
Had a reservation and they had not prepared a table for us. After a long wait we were seated (already had a drink). We reminded them of our timeframe. Service was SUPER slow. Food was great, but had been sitting a while before we were served. Had to ask our waitress who was drinking beer at the bar where our food was. She got it, but at that point we had to rush to make our game. Wouldn't go back, unfortunately.

What a disaster!!! I’ve always had good experiences at this place—until recently. We’ve been coming here for years and usually get the same waitress, who’s always been friendly and quick. However, the last two visits were completely different and honestly disturbing. I stopped in with some out-of-town guests, hoping to show off one of my favorite spots. Unfortunately, it was a disaster. Our usual waitress was working, but this time she was rude, dismissive, and seemed distracted. She got several things on our orders wrong, didn’t clear our plates, and barely checked in with us. To make things worse, she was coughing constantly and scratching at her face and arms throughout our meal. I hate to say it, but it made us all wonder about the cleanliness. The food was also subpar this time—lukewarm, underseasoned, and not at all what I remembered. My guests were polite, but I could tell they were disappointed, and frankly, I was embarrassed to have brought them here. As if that weren’t enough, when we got back to the parking lot, we noticed large rats darting under cars, including mine. It was horrifying! I thought the worst of it was over, but a day or so later, I checked my bank statement only to find that the waitress had added an extra $12 to her tip without my consent. I had already tipped her generously—$10—but to see that she added more was infuriating. I’m deeply disappointed and disgusted by the whole experience. What happened to this place?
Staff were very rude!!! Upon entering, the hostess told our party a table was leaving soon and we would be seated very soon. We waited 20 minutes. The party left, the table was then set and she seated another party who just walked in and stated “they had a reservation and we would have to wait for another table. Unbelievable! Never coming here again
Terrible experience. Upon arrival, I stood there for about a minute until someone told me “seat myself” where I then waited for someone to greet me which never happened. A party of 4 walked in about 3 minutes after me who were approached immediately, seated, and waters brought over to them before anyone gave me a menu. So I decided to go sit at all the bar… If I didn’t ask the bartender for a drink or menu, lord knows how long I would’ve sat there with a drink. I ordted a #3 I think it was. Caramelized onions, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar. Temperature medium, DOUBLE. I waited a good 25 minutes for my burger with there only being maybe 6 people there? Burger was WELL DONE and they forgot the bacon.. I can’t believe I almost paid $27 for a double burger that wasn’t even close to perfect with some frozen cut fries. Fortunately, the bartender only charged me for the half of coke I drank..
