I stopped by one evening for a drink on the rooftop and it was so lovely. The view of the Charlotte skyline as the sun was setting was gorgeous. The server, Mackenzie, was so incredibly sweet and attentive even after I’d already closed out my bill. She even asked if I needed a blanket as it was getting a bit cooler, and I saw her take multiple pictures for another group of gals there. My drink, I melt with you-tini, was delightful. A wonderful experience all around.

We had an excellent time. I took 1 star off the food rating because the sake was not very good, and they were out of one in my flight- instead of asking what I would like in its place, they brought me something else and I was not a fan of it. The scallop sushi was my fave and the bao buns are amazing!

Hestia was a wonderful experience for our two-year anniversary! We arrived at 5 pm as soon as they opened, were greeted immediately, and sat outdoors. Since we were early for the dinner rush, they allowed us to choose where we sat. We chose the outdoor seating on the rooftop and had a gorgeous view of the Charlotte area, with a cozy fire beside us. I highly recommend requesting a table near the fire pits! The food was amazing too. We ordered so many appetizers, sushi, nigiri, and main courses that they even had our dining experience coursed out for us. The curry crab dip, filet mignon, and shio koji salmon were exceptional. While it's a higher-end experience, the quality and presentation made it well worth the price for a special celebration. In addition, we got a complimentary mini cake as an anniversary dessert. Lastly, our server Toni was absolutely exceptional and truly elevated our evening. Not only was she knowledgeable about the menu, but she was incredibly patient with us— especially since it was our first time. Toni demonstrated next-level service by ensuring our glasses were never empty, consistently refreshing our silverware, and recommended us delicious mocktails since we are under the drinking age. She was willing to take our photos, chat with us about her culture, and overall made us feel welcome and comfortable at Hestia. Her attention to detail and approachability made our anniversary feel extra special. Thank you to Hestia and Toni for a lovely anniversary night out!

An Unforgettable Anniversary Dinner at Hestia Rooftop My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Hestia Rooftop, and it was truly an evening to remember. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere set the tone — elegant, romantic, and elevated by the stunning rooftop view. We started with the seasonal oysters and the Japanese edamame salad, both bursting with freshness and delicate flavors. My wife enjoyed the Shio Koji Salmon, which was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, while I had the Prime Espresso Ribeye, an absolute masterpiece — tender, flavorful, and artfully paired with the Kizuna and Renge rolls of sushi. Every bite reflected precision, creativity, and passion. To finish, we indulged in the Triple Chocolate dessert, a decadent finale that balanced richness and refinement. Sitting outside under the night sky made the experience even more magical. The service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive — and every detail, from the plating to the pace of the meal, was flawless. Without a doubt, Hestia Rooftop is the best Japanese restaurant we’ve ever visited, and we can’t wait to return.

Our waitress, Engel, was nothing short of phenomenal—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring we had the best time. She recommended the perfect pairings and checked in just enough to make us feel cared for without ever being intrusive. Her energy truly elevated the evening! The food was a masterpiece in both flavor and presentation. The sushi was fresh, expertly crafted, and melted in our mouths—each roll a work of art. The oysters were pristine, with a clean, briny finish that left us craving more. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor, while the wontons were crispy and packed with deliciousness. The crab dip was rich, creamy, and utterly addictive, and the wagyu carpaccio was a luxurious highlight, with its delicate texture and bold seasoning. Every dish was as beautiful as it was delicious, making the meal a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Went for my birthday dinner with family. Made early reservations and got seated immediately as we reached. They are located at 16th floor. They welcome little ones and have high chairs. Due to the weather we could not sit at the outdoor dining area but indoor we enjoyed the decor, attentive staffs and beautiful dining experience. The food was great and I even got a little surprise dessert for my birthday.

The omakase experience was truly wonderful. It's the largest variety of fish I've ever had in a single sitting. Chef Eiji and team were a delight to watch as they crafted sashimi and nigiri 3ft in front of us! The chefs were expert and enthusiastic in their work. Yes, it's expensive. However, it was also the best fish I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. The black cod was our absolute favorite! No beverage pairing for the omakase experience was a bit of a letdown, but we found a bottle of sake that paired wonderfully for all 16 courses. They kept the dishes coming at a breakneck pace. As we were finishing each bite, the next was already in front of us. We moved through all 16 courses within 90min, which was incredible to observe in the kitchen. While it may be best reserved for a special occasion, I highly recommend Hestia omakase for lovers of Japanese food and/or seafood!

Absolutely amazing food.. views unparalleled. Have to get the Japanese curry crab dip everytime. The BOI BOI roll was easily the best on the menu. I just wish my TWO wait staffs would have been a little more attentive as I wanted to order more but had to wait 15-20 minutes for them to come back and check on me…. They were awesome and super nice just didn’t come back to us very often.

Go for the rooftop views and a drink on a beautiful evening. We sat on the patio and the cocktail server was really great. Waygu app is good but tiny. Crab dip is rich and filling. Sushi roll was delightful with fresh tuna. I’d suggest more for rooftop drinks than dinner

The atmosphere was nice. Even though it was raining, we still enjoyed the view. We were really into sushi, so we decided to try this place. We ordered four rolls: Kaen Kizuna, Seijaku, Golden Scallop, and the Duck Bao Buns. Everything was delicious except Seijaku, which was very plain. I would love to go back again, but honestly, I didn't like the service.

Great drinks with a beautiful view that is hard to find in Ballantyne. I have been to Hestia with friends many times and everytime there has been no music whatsoever. Not even low playing ambiance music. We always talk about how much better it would be if there was music. I think they are trying to keep it professional and maybe keep away certain crowds, but some house music in there would make it much more of a go to destination.

I visited Hestia Rooftop Thursday evening around 8:00 PM and the experience was (un)surprisingly poor. The bar and dining room were nearly empty, with the exception of a host of servers, yet it took 10 minutes just to order a drink. I ordered the Moët & Chandon Nectar Impérial Rosé split ($40) listed on the menu. What followed was a surprising series of mistakes: • First, I was brought a full-size bottle of Moët & Chandon Pharrell Rosé – not what was ordered and also expensive. • Next, a Chandon Brut split – still incorrect. • Then a Chandon Rosé split – again incorrect After the bartender brought three incorrect bottles in a row, then the manager came over and said the menu was a “misprint” and laughed at that I would even entertain the idea that this champagne even comes in a split. It does. The food didn’t redeem things — masago/tobiko was dry and hardened and the fish quality was average. Add overpowering dance-club music in what’s supposed to be a restaurant and the overall experience felt sloppy and unprofessional. Between the new and, in MHO not improved, dance club atmosphere, inattentive service, inaccurate menu, and dismissive management response, it was a much disappointing visit.
