Great food. But the menu and the roll sheet didn't match. Still had great appetizers that we had for lunch. Dynamite and Volcano Cake are on the spicy side but still yummy.
I am not a sushi connoisseur, but in my amateur opinion the sushi we had here was very good. Our table monitor was very friendly and helpful. I don't live nearby, but I look forward to returning next year.
My two companions had entrees. I ordered a sushi roll. All the food was excellent as was the service. On top of all that, the prices were quite reasonable.
Love this place. They have a vegetarian special that Is great. Keep in mind each location has a slight difference in menus but great place and I felt safe with the precautions they were taking due to Covid.
I'm a regular customer here Great place to eat have fun and relax. The service and attendees are great I love it here it's a awesome fancy deliciouse restaurant!
Great food and great prices. Get the Crazy Boy if you like the fried rolls with spicy mayo! $6 Sapporo on tap definitely goes well with it. Sad I lived here for a year and hadn't come yet. Will be back regularly!
Really friendly staff. Great looking and good amount of sushi for the price. Loved the presentation and plating of the food.
Sushi teri has come a long way from the experiences I've had many years ago. The sushi is good and is extremely better quality nowadays. The teriyaki and tempura combo was delicious and the beer, wine, and sake choices are plentiful. Great service and excellent atmosphere!
We came here after a bike ride. Had not been here before but I really love the street view they had. Had the garlic edamame which was so yummy. Then proceeded to have the beef chow mein as well as the godzilla. I would recommend highly both but especially the beef chow mein.
Had a hankering for sushi whilst hanging out in the small coastal village of Carpinteria, and found the only sushi joint in town. They have tasty food with a nice variety of offerings. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. The prices are moderate and the atmosphere is comfortable. I recommend...
Amazing food friendly staff. very good fish
Everything was super tasty! I ordered a huge combo and just wish I could’ve finished it all. The salmon nigiri were my absolute favorite. Definitely a must!
My daughter and I came here for lunch. Good food and good service. I liked that it is walking distance from our campsite.
We loved our recent dining experience. Went for dinner and started with spicy edamame and Spam Musubi. Both were excellent. We finished with the Cherry Blossom Roll, the Futonaki Roll, and the Downtown Roll. We loved the creativity and the delicious flavor combinations.
We stopped by Sushi Teri on our way from Los Angeles to San Francisco and absolutely loved it! Everything was perfect – fresh and delicious sushi, a nice and clean atmosphere, and excellent service. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was served quickly, and the quality was top-notch. We’re so glad we chose this place and will definitely come back again. Highly recommend it to all Japanese food lovers! 🍣
The food is amazing, great atmosphere and service was excellent. The waiter was nice. The food had great taste. Really recommend this place go try it out.
Very consistent in terms of quality and flavors. Their seafood is of great quality with very natural colors and flavors. I particularly enjoy their mackerel and salmon sashimi along with their Mastercard roll. Their Katsudon is a must try as they use great quality pork and the dish is focused on replicating traditional flavors rather than having a flashy presentation and same with their black cod served with miso paste along with grilled vegetable, rice, and salad.
I have been sushi Teri many times. I highly recommend the diner bento (I like the salmon, they have chicken, beef and salmon options.) One thing can be improved, my friend had a teriyaki chicken, she hoped the chicken could be hotter.
UPDATE. Great sushi tonight! Check out the pics, Sashimi special 27 bucks. Spectacular service by Honaka. (Hope I spelled it right) her smile lights up the room! Great sushi sampler for $32. Can't beat it. Love this place!
Yuuummm.. Sushi Teri! What can i say soooo good, great location, nice restaurant GREAT service, the food is amazing! I try and go to Sushi teri at least twice a month and when i do, i definitely try a little of this a little of that. Highly recommend

It’s really really nice place and good food. It’s a place where I’d come back for a thousand times.
Been going since I was 11 and it's always been fantastic
Fantastic place. A huge inside, a lovely back patio and you could sit out in the front. The Japanese curry was delicious as were the rolls. A huge plate of edamame. The service was excellent. Highly recommend.
An excellent place! We had sushi and Japanese curry here—both were fantastic. Our server Hitomi took great care of us, providing very friendly and welcoming service. This is definitely a place worth recommending!

I had "Chad's Tuna Salad" and my daughter had vegetables and rice with shrimp. The tuna salad was very good with lots of mixed greens. The veggies were good too, and my daughter commented that not many restaurants serve hot dishes, salad, and sushi and all are tasty. It was a little expensive though.
Overall it was good but not great! We went when it wasn't too busy. Service was good, but can't judge how it'll be when they are busy. My only critique is the outdoor seating is right by the bathrooms. Seriously, not ideal!
Sushi was good, excellent edamames but the hours you have here in google are not true. It Elsa ya you close at 10:00 pm but we’ve been there twice at 9:00 pm and you say it’s already closed, so I suggest you to change the times! Thanks
Substantial helping size, supported by rice. The Calamari and Sushi were excellently done, as well as the beef lunch special. Nice, relaxing environment, friendly staff, and a detailed menu with a wide variety of sushi options. Definitely recommended, works well for lunch and dinner.
Nice local spot with a bigger menu. Ramen was decent.
For what it is an where it is the restaurant delivers surprisingly good quality at a fair price. Still, sushi snobs are probably not the target audience. Came in very late (one of the few places open after 9pm) but service was still friendly and fast.
Good sushi at a fair price. Fresh tasting ingredients, and a friendly staff. The MB roll, and the White Dragon are a couple of my personal favorites, but all the rolls are good.
Thank God this place was open. Our hotel decided to send their staff home early, so there was no room service after 9pm. We walked to find something open. Sushi Teri was there for us. We enjoyed a cold beer while we waited for our food. We ordered a combination, teriyaki chicken with a California roll. The chicken was tender and the favor was great. Thanks guys, for feeding us. We were feeling pretty desperate before we found you. Super nice staff!
Ordered sushi from this location for takeout. The sushi is reasonably priced and comparable to other sushi establishments. Ordered the Philadelphia roll and the Avocado roll. They were both good, though the Philadelphia roll had a bit too much cream cheese in it. Will probably try it out again when I'm in the area and try a new roll or two.
It's a small town Carpinteria and it's the only sushi restaurant in town it's okay if you really want sushi you can go and enjoy

Nice local spot with a bigger menu. Ramen was decent.
Ramen was not great, especially for the price. Broth lacked depth of flavor and didnt have that pork taste or color to the broth. I was sad because I have been to the Lompoc location twice and the tonkatsu ramen was amazing there.
The sushi place here is pretty good. It has two types of seating available either in a booth or at the bar that has a sushi chief making it as you order or you can chose form the glass. The beer selection here is pretty good and they have a decent plum wine. The prices here are pretty expensive but not to bad, but it's the only place that serves sushi in carpinteria.
I usually love sushi teri regardless of the fact that the service can be slow when it is busy. Unfortunately, last time I tried to go to sushi teri I was treated VERY poorly. Their sign clearly says that they are open until 10pm. I walked in with two friends at 9:40. They told us they were only doing takeout orders, we said no problem and asked to see a menu. We were instantly sassed that we needed to hurry and order right away and that they didn't have time to wait for me to take a quick look at the menu. If your sign says you are open until 10pm, then you should be open until 10pm. AND your staff needs to learn some manners. We all have long days, but the server there was RUDE! I won't be getting my sushi in Carpinteria anymore.
After a long hike, sushi was the go to! But the man on the phone hung up on my friend when she was ordering! So rude! And seemed in such a hurry to close. We still had 20 mins and I still felt very rushed! Food wasn’t as tasty as the reviews made it seem. I’m constantly around this area but I unfortunately won’t be returning.
The special rolls were fairly on the small side for what you paid for. Fish was decent but not exquisite. Rice wasn't done properly. There are other places that produce better product than this
Service was good, and for that reason I feel bad leaving a poor review. However, the food is really not good. My chicken teriyaki was dry and lacking in flavor, same thing with my dad’s beef teriyaki. The sauce tasted store bought, which is fine in itself, but it didn’t taste like much. My mom and sister got sushi that was just so-so, on par with Safeway sushi.
Gamble whether your sushi is terrible. My table ordered 3 rolls. 1 was great, and looked like a picture of what a roll should look like. The other two were made very poorly. Missing ingredients, cut improperly, and mine even had a bone. There were 2 chefs behind the counter, and it's clear only one knows what he's doing. I had to send back my roll and left hungry
My daughter and i went out for Sushi tonight. Upon arrival, we sat down and immediately I noticed a fun family of 3 dads and their 3 daughters (around 9-10 year olds). They were giggling and appeared to be having a really great time. Within minutes a table behind us had to move across the restaurant due to this father/daughter sixtuplet. The yelling, the voices, the drinking were disruptive and only got louder. The table next to us and next to them continued to turn around and tried to politely indicate the noise was very disruptive, however social norms did not seem to be a given to this group. None of us could hear our own table mates. After 20 minutes, I finally got up and politely asked the family to turn their voices down. I was anxious and apologized then said they were ruining our dinner, among others. One of the dads responded by very loudly mocking me and making fun of my request. The girls and other dads immediately joined in. For the next 15 minutes when our food came they tip toed behind me mocking me, they began teasing and making fun of my comments. It became so uncomfortable that my daughter became angry and I requested a to go box and our bill. The restaurant apologized and said "you certainly aren't the only ones. We know it's bad." To which I responded "then why are they still here?" And got no answer. It appeared that the staff were FEARFUL of this family. FEARFUL to ask people to be cordial and respectful that they were not the only patrons in the restaurant. I fully understand their fear after what I endured when being the only person to say something having 2 tables thank me after I did so. But I will never go to the restaurant again, as they chose to allow periods like this to at the tone in the restaurant over the happiness and satisfaction of the mass.

Service was poor but not so terrible that I thought warranted a review. About 30 minutes after finishing, both my wife and I had diarrhea. So I did the responsible thing and called to let them know because surely they'd want to figure out what went wrong and make it right. Right? Nope. When I told the manager what happened his response was simply "it wasn't the sushi." Ok... well it was something. Manager's theory? It was bad water! Ha. A. We're locals and never even heard of bad water here and B. We have lived in various undeveloped countries so its not as if we have weak stomachs. No apology nor indication he planned to even look into it.
Food was great! Service was terrible.... I felt like we were being ignored....we almost walked away but my kids were hungry...took too long to attend us but were very quick to welcome and serve everyone else... I felt discriminated..
We waited 90 minutes for food. We ended up getting out food to go, because we had to go back to work. One bowl was even then not finished, one meal to go was burned! So we end up hungry back at work. The service, especially the younger waitresses, were so unfriendly and didn't care about anything! Definitely can't recommend this restaurant. In addition the quality of the sushi does not correspond to the expensive price.
Dropped in at 5:45 to order takeout. Food took over an hour, was ~$70 for two sushi specials, and when I got home there was no sushi in the bag (only miso and salad). When I came back the server immediately said “oh it’s you, you forgot your second bag” as though I was supposed to know there was a second bag - which I obviously would have taken had I understood that. What I couldn’t understand was how group after group were served while I waited for food. We’re they waiting over an hour for food? Doubt it. Skip Sushi Teri and go somewhere that doesn’t overcharge you and give terrible service.
There were only 5 people in the place, and I felt rushed the entire time! Can I take this plate? Well no please, I'm eating that. Can I get your check? Well sure but I'm only half done. So we just left, after paying, and Sharing how I felt. That's what it boils down to, and I'll never eat there again! They are overpriced, and mediocre quality. Oh well
If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Visited the evening of 10/7/23. The service was non-existent. My friend and I were not seated but instead told we could sit wherever we wanted, which we did. It took nearly 15 minutes after flagging someone down to place our order. We ordered the Ahi Poke Bowl. There were no utensils on the table and the waiter did not bring any with our food. We had to flag someone down for chopsticks and he practically tossed them onto the table. The bowl was 90% rice and 10% fish. The fish was warm, warmer than room temperature. Raw fish at room temperature or higher is problematic. The texture of it looked slick, as if it had been sitting out for quite some time. I couldn't eat it and neither could my friend because we feared getting sick from fish that did not appear to be fresh, was not handled and served at the proper temperature. Not once did the waiter check in to see how we were doing and to ask how the food was. Never have I felt unseen as I did at Sushi Teri. When the waiter came by to clear the table, I shared that we were disappointed with the food and why. Also, I shared that he didn't even ask why we had barely touched our food. The response was, he thought we liked our food and that he would share the concern about the fish. I did hear him mention to someone about the feedback that I gave him. The service was despicable and main entree was inedible. NEVER shall I return and I would NEVER RECOMMEND this place to anyone.
