We enjoyed eating at Trēo so much, we seriously can’t stop talking about it. Staying at the hotel, we were so glad they had a gorgeous patio overlooking the ocean and the best mocktails we have ever tasted. Because the hotel was hosting multiple conventions, they were serving a buffet style dinner so we got to try everything! Salmon, beef, chicken, pokè, duck fat potatoes, roasted vegetables, nearly infinite options salad bar, and a plethora of delectable desserts. Everything had a deliciously unique flavor, nothing was over seasoned or over cooked, and I made a point of trying a bite of every single thing. The food was all incredible, the staff and chefs were friendly, attentive and a joy to be around. Highly recommend the patio but there is a stunning view from every table regardless of where you sit. Can’t wait to go back!
We were walking the property when we decided to head into Trēo and I’m so glad we did! Pamela was so kind and we were immediately sat. We started off with the beet and burrata cheese, DELICIOUS, the ordered the fig flatbread, so good, and for the entree we ordered the fish of the day which was a baked branzino with cauliflower and brown butter. Our server, Brandon, had made recommendations of the charcuterie board and the tuna crudo which were both so flavorful and tasty. The sunset view was the cherry on top of a wonderful dinner.
This restaurant has a brekfast buffet on weekends and it is awesome! I have been here twice so far and I am impressed with the quality, selection, and organization. You can choose from many options for breakfast. Some of the delicious menu items are; scrambled eggs, sausage, chicken sausage, seasoned, potatoes, waffles, mini pancakes, fruits, yogurt, cereal, a made to order omellete station and so much more. On this visit they added a new crepe station where the chef makes the crepes in front of you and you add the toppins. I hope that sticks around, as they were tasty! The customer service is some of the best I have experienced at any restuarant in San Diego. Stephanie was very helpful and made some amazing crepes! Thank you! The restaurant is clean, well lit, and also has outdoor seating. I have not been here for dinner yet, but the breakfast buffet is so good that I will proably come back for the morning meal again and again. If you are a morning person and love brekfast foods, you can not do better than Treo. Eat up!!!
Honestly, I didn’t expect the food, service, or vibe at Treo in Chula Vista to be this good — especially for a place that feels like a resort. Everything from start to finish impressed me. We started with the Little Gem Caesar, which came as a very generous portion. I ordered mine with both the ranch and green goddess dressings on the side, mixed them together, and it was absolutely delectable. I added salmon on top…a perfectly cooked 4-ounce filet that was tender and flavorful. My husband ordered the same salad with grilled chicken, which came as a juicy, beautifully done breast topped with chives. We also added a side of vegetables, and they were excellent…a mix of fresh squash and seasonal greens cooked just right. The real standout, though, was my daughter’s Lumache pasta. It was so thoughtfully prepared with sungold tomato Pomodoro, corn pesto, and herbed goat cheese. The chef himself brought it out, and it showed how much care goes into every dish. I’m not even a pasta person, but I loved it — truly the highlight of the night. Service was top-notch thanks to Katie, who was phenomenal, and the manager, who was so warm and genuinely hospitable. My daughter finished off with the brownie sundae, which looked incredible. I’ll definitely be saving room for dessert next time… though tonight, I was craving something warm instead. A beautiful surprise of a restaurant with great energy, excellent food, and an attention to detail that’s rare to find in resort-style dining.
Absolute best restaurant i've ever been to in san diego County 😋
Try the breakfast buffet. Exceptional. Also, the staff was extremely friendly and courteous
LOVEEEEE THE FOOD, LOVE THE PEOPLE, LOVE THE PLACE , LOVE EVERYTHING, WILL COME BACK DEFINITELY 👍
Amazing food and service. Can’t wait to come back
Pomegranate Pork was divine! It gets a bit busy but beautiful, seats were comfortable, strawberry tomato burrata was delicious as well. Highly recommend. Make a reservation though, bar seats were the only ones free.
Came to celebrate our family’s anniversary and we were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality. We sat on the patio and was able to see the sunset. We had a wonderful waiter Jonathan who was phenomenal. From start to finish he really made our experience worth it. While the steak tartar stole the show the cream brûlée was also delicious.
8-28-25: What a beautiful restaurant! Nice, warm welcome from Nick. Our waiter, also named Nick, was very hospitable and friendly. Everything on the menu u looks delicious. Tonight, we started with the Yuzu Margarita and Coconut Mojito. . Ahhh! Refreshing! For appetizers, we started with the Tuna Crudo. For dinner, we shared the Wagyu Burger with Duck Fat Fries and Lumache Pasta. The Pistachio Brûlée was “to die for!” Dan honored us with a bottle of excellent champagne! Super thankful! We're in heaven' gotta come back for more! Kudos to Hector at the bar and our son, Matthew for surprising us. **************************************************
Get yourself and fresh made omelet and delicious of coffee!! If you are vegan there are fresh fruits and vegetables available. Treat yourself to a morning rasberrie dessert.
stayed at the gaylord and ate here for dinner and the breakfast buffet the next morning. colleen was our server both times and was the best! she was very accommodating, friendly and attentive. food took a while to arrive for dinner, but everything we had was so delicious. highlight for me was the meyer lemon cheesecake! breakfast buffet was also great, lots of options.
My family and I had a great time celebrating the 4th of July here. Wait time was long but I get it there was a lot of people. The food was delicious! My dad really enjoyed the Mary chicken. The burgers were so juicy and tasty! Was a little too pink for me but everyone at my table said it was a perfect pink so maybe I’ll go for medium next time. Food was great but the wait was 45 mins till we got our food. Might be better on less busy days.
I saw so many negative reviews, so I wasn’t expecting a whole lot…but the food and ambiance exceeded all expectations. The pasta with salmon was very tasty. The fish of the day 5/5. The wagyu burger was also great. Excellent, no complaints whatsoever. Definitely will come back.
Excellent service and very attentive staff from checking in for our dinner reservation to the very end. We ordered cocktails, appetizers, mains, and desserts. Everything was on point. We will definitely be coming back and recommend giving this place a try.
We had buffet breakfast here twice during our stay. Food was good (not great). Servers and other staff did a great job. Atmosphere a little noisy.
This hotel is a fantastic new addition, and the dining options are top notch. I had lunch at Treo and the chopped kale salad was absolutely delicious. The sports bar is a must-visit, with a huge screen that makes watching games so much fun. Everything about the place is impressive, and I highly recommend experiencing the full package.
Amazing breakfast buffet! Although pricey it was well worth the money as this is one of the best breakfast buffets we have experienced. Loads of fresh fruit, hot and cold food items, amazing patisseries (must try Belgian waffles and croissants), omelette station. Exceptional!
Great new hotel and restaurants. Had lunch at Treo. I had the chopped kale salad and it was delish!! For sure go to the sports bar. Amazing big screen. Recommend the entire package. Go stay. It’s like Vegas in San Diego!!
Dining at Treo Kitchen + Bar offers a polished yet approachable experience that blends resort convenience with elevated dining. The restaurant stands out most for its breakfast buffet, which delivers an impressive range of options. The variety is a clear highlight, fresh fruits, pastries, hot breakfast staples, and made-to-order items create a spread that feels both abundant and thoughtfully curated. The food quality was consistently good! Items tasted fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful without feeling overly heavy, which is often a challenge with buffet-style dining. The buffet exceeds expectations compared to typical hotel offerings and provides something for a wide range of preferences. However, service is where the experience fell short! It was noticeably slow, particularly when it came to drink refills and table check-ins. Staff are generally friendly and professional, but the pace of service can detract from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Overall, Treo Kitchen + Bar delivers a strong breakfast experience with excellent variety and solid food quality. With more consistent and timely service, it could easily match the high standards set by its setting and menu.
We were able to make a reservation for 12 a week ago and had a great time! Treo is located across from the PCH Cafe & Market right before Growler. The food was extremely yummy, just a little on the pricier side and the portions were a little small. It also took a while for drinks to come out and water to be refilled but understanding that staff are being trained. The ambiance as relaxing and the chairs were extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly. Almost all the staff we spoke to also were fluent in Spanish on top of English
The food was good. A little pricey for the quality and portion, but somewhat expected for an on-property restaurant. View and atmosphere are very nice, overlooking the bay.
This is obviously a new spot, and the team is still working out the details. The resort in general needs some tweaking with regards to service. Breakfast can get quite busy, especially near the omelette station. Sometimes, when there’s a line, you might not be able to get over medium eggs, but the fruit and pastries are fresh and really tasty. Dinner was decent but not outstanding. The Caesar salad comes with a lot of dressing, so you might want it on the side. The flatbreads are simple and fine if you just want basic pizza. We didn’t try any cocktails, especially at those prices. If you have kids, just know the staff may not always mention a kids menu, so it’s worth asking again if you don’t get one at first. Overall, Treo is a nice spot with plenty of potential, but it needs some service improvements. We’d be happy to visit again as things settle in and improve.
Great staff everyone so nice and attentive. Food was good and tasty. Beautiful restaurant. I would recommend a little roll or garlic bread 🥖 with the pasta, but that’s just me! Lol!!! 😂 other then that Great experience!!
The buffet breakfast was mediocre. They had a few basic things but nothing to ride home about except the omelet bar. There wasn't a big variety of food outside of the omelette bar. The cost is high because the restaurant is located inside a resort. I would give this restaurant rating of a B. I wouldn't plan to go there again if I was in the area. The cost is high because it's located in a resort but the food was not that special. The wait staff never came by to pick up the plates (on their own - by observing the plates being left on the tables) as people finished their food and went to get more food. The guests had to ask the wait staff to remove the plates off the table.
It was a comfortable environment and although it was quite a calm day eating outside was a bit windy. The food was very good but we asked for our Wagyu Burgers to be cooked medium but they came medium rare at the best. The flatbread was very good. We enjoyed the Arnold Palmers as they made with the right blend of tea and lemonade. Violet our server was very good and Angela the greeter was excellent.
Pricy and burger was greasy :(
We arrived a little early to check out the resort, which is stunning! We sat at the bar and Hector, the bartender was not friendly. Rather glum. No smiles whatsoever. The waitress, ,Violet, was extremely friendly. A stark contrast to Hector. The table wobbled. A screeching baby nearby. Why do people bring infants to an upscale restaurant? We had a delightful appetizer. When finished, Alberto, the busser, took away our utensils. I thought he was being fancy and would bring some new ones. No. That didn't happen. Our meals arrived but I couldn't flag Alberto or Violet down, so I had to get some from another table as our food was getting cold. The little salad was ok but all green. Would've been nice if they threw on a couple of cherry tomatoes for a little pop of color. I guess I had high expectations for such an establishment. By the way! Credit cards only.
Clearly brand new and beautiful, however very pricey. Parking was nearly $50 just for a dinner, so factor that in. Menu is small, which I do like at times, but at close to $100 per person after a drink and tip, there are a ton of better options in San Diego overall. Worth seeing, but know what to expect.
I ordered a 29 dollar waygu burger that had no taste and fell apart in my hands It was my very first waygu burger and was expecting more Salad was awful, the duck fat fries were great! Great martini Sorry won't be going back
Had the Wagyu burger and it was less than average unfortunately. Spent a good deal on dinner for a group of 12 and I definitely wouldn't do that again. Flavors were bland and nobody said anything good about the food.
The food was okay but only eggs very small pancakes, fruit, donuts bread very simple breakfast for expensive 2 people over 1$100.00 plus drinks and tip about $150.00 parking $25.00 total $175.00 to much. Service was great
The hotel is stunning and the food was great, but the service was abismal. Although the restaurant was empty and we were the only ones checking in with the hostess, we sat and waited for over 20 minutes for a table. Even though there were 30 empty ones that I could see. It took forever to get a waiter to come by and forever and a day to get the food. There are many other much better places to go to get a $30 hamburger.
The food is outrageously expensive for how bland it tastes - my Burger, potatoes, and fries were $42 for lunch, and the potatoes tasted like they had been microwaved with no salt on them. The service was pretty bad too (screwed the food order up multiple times, all the plates at a table of 6 came out several minutes apart from each other, it took 15+ minutes to get our checks done). The staff members themselves, however, were very pleasant - they were just very clearly unsure of how this place was supposed to run, despite the fact that the restaurant was almost totally empty/not busy. It's clear there are some growing pains here so I will probably give them another chance in the future, but the ridiculous prices for such generic bland food will definitely make me think twice about coming back here even if the service improves.
The restaurant is stupidly expensive for the food that you get. The breakfast bar is $42 a person before drinks. Two of us having breakfast was $109 and there's nothing on that breakfast bar that any Courtyard by Marriott would not give away as a part of their stay. Yes, I have some fancy donuts but that doesn't justify gouging people who stay at the resort. We're already paying upwards of $400 a night, and to ratchet up the prices on everything else is ripping off the customers. Our first meal there the waiter hurried us through the meal and wanted to get paid even though there were several tables open. The next meal they could not cook a a medium well Burger to save them. My friend sent the burger back three times because it came out raw in the center each time. The third meal was with 11 convention attendees and splitting the check was too much for them. They are our convention hotel. You would think they would know how to handle large parties. There was a reservation, they knew we were coming. Most of the staff seem to have an attitude and the food just isn't worth the amount they're charging.
Absolutely horrible service, Technical glitches, wind blowing stuff of the table every time the door opens, mediocre food. I believe i've never had a worst experience in terms of service. In particular at this price point this should not happen.
This place is a mess of bad service, 3 days in a row and multiple other members of my group independently complained.
Went for dinner last night, 4 of us, made reservations, The seating area was nice, comfortable chairs, nice ample table. Food was bland and expensive, fine charge those prices but serve something worth coming back for. I ordered the Tuna Toast $30 (had a French name) and tasted like canned tuna, the other 3 ordered the waygu burger, husband said was good but no better than a $12 burger from Balboa Burger. For those prices I expect premium service where they leave you alone, they know how to space appetizers from meals and they don't try to push dessert when you are still eating your main course, none of those things happened, I felt like they were trying turn the table for the next people and coming to "check on us" so many times it was frankly annoying.
Ambiance is nice, views of the ocean. If you’re coming to eat, look elsewhere. The food is not good. We had the pork chops, flavorless. Steak, wayyy too saucy. Pasta, bland. Salad, chic fil a did it better. Also food takes about 45 min to be served.
The service was terrible for being empty. We waited for about 50 min for our food and the service was so slow. Suck because it’s such a pretty place but not worth it for the price. It was overpriced for the food and service.
I had a highly disappointing experience today at Treo. From the moment I arrived, the service was lackluster. Despite being notified that a table was ready, my wife and I waited 10 minutes for a host to even acknowledge us, which set a frustrating tone for our lunch. Once seated, the wait for our food was unacceptable—over an hour for our meals to arrive, with one update that they were working on our food and they were backed up. The servers seemed disorganized and inattentive, making it difficult to get their attention for even basic requests. When the food finally arrived, it failed to meet expectations for the price. I finally requested my check and had to the manager twice to get it. Overall, the slow service and lack of communication made this a frustrating experience. I hope the management addresses these issues. I strongly recommend not wasting your time or money at this restaurant.
Worst hotel restaurant I’ve been to in about a year. I ordered a “pole caught Albacore” sandwich - I was given a tuna salad (not sure it was albacore - seemed too brown). I was expecting a nice Albacore fillet sandwich - that would be consistent with most people’s expectations in SAN DIEGO. Took one bite and returned it. They were so slow, I didn’t have time to reorder and just went hungry. Another person at the table ordered Tortilla soup and specifically asked for some kind of bread or role. His soup was almost gone before it arrived. He said the soup was so-so. That’s pretty sad since it’s Southern California and the Mexican border is about 10 minutes away. Typical hotel restaurant - nice design and decor… that’s it. Enjoy the view.
We were excited to visit the new resort but unfortunately the service was not up to par with the price or beautiful hotel. We were a group of 10 people even though our server was very sweet you can tell they have not been properly trained. So management is at fault here. This place is definitely not a place for gatherings that wish to have conversation with each other, its a beautiful place but we found it very hard to hear each other, it was very noisy. It could be fun for people to sit and have a drink if you dont mind the noise. Service! Wow, we had to ask for everything, our drinks were not the best, bartender needs to know how to make drinks, some were ok but some were a destroyed by simply adding the wrong things to it, so bartender was very inexperienced! Food, its pricy and we splurged thinking we would indulge in the experience but...the food wasn't the best, it was edible but was barely ok. We had to ask for salt and pepper and waited a while for it, I asked for a napkin and never got it, it took a long while to take our orders, then another long while to get our food. The food was barely warm. We ordered dessert and coffee, we got our coffee and had it for 10 min before our server came back to ask her for creamer and sugar by this time our coffee was cold! We had to eat our dessert with our coffee spoons. Things that should have been brought to us, 101 serving etiquette just wasn't there. Things didn't flow as they should, and when you go and splurge on an experience, it is very sad that the customer service was so poor! The place is beautiful, ambiance great but the food, drink and service, needs attention!
