!! Recommend !! We’ve been to the Concord Benihana a handful of times now and it’s always a hit! Definitely on the pricier side but good for celebrating 🙌. Make sure to make a reservation if dining in for dinner because it gets packed. Our favorites are the Emperors feast and Benihana Delight. The food is always delicious, highly recommend the filet mignon. Don’t forget to use the birthday discount they offer if it’s your birthday month, and upgrade to the chicken fried rice (so good)!

I'm 37 as of this writing... I should have gone here at least a dozen times before now, but sadly 12/25/21 was my first. A delight and food was fabulous. Seasoning was on point and cooked to what we each wanted. Will definitely be coming back at a minimum once a year

Came here for my birthday on New Year’s Day. We were seated 45 minutes after reservation but it was New Years so can’t complain. The food was delicious!!!! Our cook was funny and had my party and I entertained! One of my best birthdays!!

My family and I had such a great experience at dinner the other night. Food was great and drinks were amazing. The manager Ivan greeted us up front even though it was extremely busy he was able to seat us in an appropriate amount of time. He even checked on us while seated and made sure our experience was great . Such a great personality made us feel so comfortable. We even had a little issue that he took care of with ease. We will definitely be back.

I just want to say thank you to Ryan for the patience he had with me. I am a new sushi eater and he let me know what to get. I ordered the Las Vegas Roll and let me tell you he listened!! Came in for Valentine’s Day this year with my boyfriend <3 So thankful he planned such a beautiful date night for us!! Food was amazing, lychee martinis were GREAT and portions were huge! Him and I had the best night! Our chef was a delight and Maryam our server was the best as well. We had a reservation for a Saturday night but still had to wait. Our family was celebrating a birthday. It was very busy but the staff remained courteous and friendly. We were finally seated but continued to wait for a chef to come to our table. Our waiter kindly took our drink and appetizer orders. We were seated with a quiet couple. The chef was friendly and served our food, hot and fresh. They took our picture, but the camera was unable to print our picture. Overall, it was a good experience, but I would go agaiin during non busy hours.

This place is very cool! It’s not only about cooking food in front of you, it’s also about a real show! I loved the way how a cook interacts with the guests, especially with the kids. My dish was a little bit too spicy 🌶 (I ordered Diablo Seafood), but still tasty. Fried rice with the eggs and chicken was very delicious too. I highly recommend this place.

Omar was the BEST! We have came to Benihana MANY times and have always enjoyed our time but today was the BEST. Omar was entertaining and hilarious! Best part was pulling the chicken out of his hat! We laughed the whole time.

Good service was lucky to get a table right away with no reservation on Saturday night (got lucky) the server got us the drinks then we got soup and salad then the chef came to make us the food it was a good experience! I the food is good a little pricey but it’s worth the portion.

I will say that Benihana is always pretty timeless and consistent. The service has improved a lot after Covid besides it being really busy. Shoutout to Omar for the superb experience and attention to detail! He’s so awesome :)

Awesome food, even better Chef named Barry. Bartender Shawn was on point all night with his mixology skills. Only complaint was while sitting at the Bar it was uncomfortably Hot. We asked the manager about the air conditioning, she said that it was an old system that they are trying to get upgraded. So hopefully the corporate office sees this, because it was borderline unbearable. Not just for the customers either, the staff has to work 8 hour shifts in that heat wearing a mask. Seems unfair in my opinion.

The food is well worth the 2 hour drive. Also Ryan is hands down the best bartender there and has always been a part of the experience. His attention to detail and knowledge of his craft is top notch. Great food is nothing without great drinks to match. I can’t wait to come back.

Had a nice celebration lunch today in the bar and lounge area. We ordered the Benihana Trio. Really enjoyed it- several courses, all prepared to perfection. Servers Abby and Jasmine took great care of us. We talked for a bit with the manager, Roger. It’s nice to meet managers with such enthusiasm for their work! I have to write a review about our experience last night but I'm giving 5 stars because the waitress was good and I don't want this to impact her negatively. We were the last party to be seated at 9:15pm (open until 10pm), we had to wait far too long for the appetizer roll and spicey edamame. There were three other full tables with chefs cooking and providing good shows. Our chef was literally cooking in slow motion once he FINALLY arrived, the meat was done but vegetables were still very hard, and everything lacked seasoning. He did not do one show - not one flame, nothing with the onions, NOTHING. Worst experience ever at Benihana's for $280! while celebrating my bday and our anniversary! Will return to this location because this is the first negative experience we had but I'm super disappointed and feel like I wasted money.

Very fun for events and birthdays! I personally love watching the chefs cook in front of you! Great atmosphere and food. The price is a little high, but for the entertainment, it's not too bad. Very nice and friendly staff keeps me coming back when im in town.

We come to this Benihana location all the time. Tonight, we had the absolute best time because our server went above and beyond. Sara was incredibly thoughtful, attentive, and created such a fun experience for us. Out of all the servers we’ve had throughout the years, Sara really stood out. She made our night very special. Naweed gave us one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had at Benihana. I’ve been coming to Benihana for over 20 years, and this visit truly exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by a young man “Antone” at the front desk. Best first impression I’ve had in years at a Restaurant. Then our server wonderful young girl, “ Angelia” she was outstanding with her attentiveness to us. Overall, BEST SERVICE from the second we walked in until we left! This was fun. Haven't been in a long time since I'm not from the area. The food was really still pretty good! The server was great, and the cook was very nice and thoughtful! We did enjoy ourselves! Our cook did a great job and caught all of his shrimp tails and eggs lol. The train was so cute! For us, I think they need a refresh. I feel like it's the same show forever. It is not the cooks' fault by any means, but the company should invest in cool new tricks or entertainment. Maybe every 6 months or year, come up with something new. I remember back in the day, the show was more elaborate and fun. The decor could also use an update. Also, we were under the air vent and almost froze the entire time, but the rest of the restaurant had floor air conditioners with giant hoses all over. Maybe part of the buildings a/c was out? I'm not sure. But it definitely could have used a refresh. I just think for the price, there could have been a little more. Delicious, yes, absolutely. But people are paying a lot of money now to go out and want a value. We paid close to $250 for 3 people without drinks. We all had water and NO appetizers! It's just a bit high.

I frequent Benihana often. Especially on or around my birthday. However, this experience was by far the best. Our server was so/so as she kept forgetting things that we asked for. Our cook 💙 RAFAEL 💙 made up for her shortcomings. He was very kind and friendly. He paid close attention to detail and cooked our food with love, hugs, and kisses 🤗 I love when a cook makes food as if they were going to eat it. The flavor becomes exquisite! Everything was AMAZING! You hear me, Everything! Thank you, Rafael, for a great experience and delicious food. We will be returning soon. Hopefully, we will get you as our cook again.

What a fun and cheerful place to be! Always love it when they do the tricks with knives and the onion volcanoes! Strongly recommend the châteaubriant & lobster course. We ordered a different course with a different kind of meat to compare. The châteaubriant was just so so so much more flavorful (the other meat was also super tasty though) Also we loved the way they cooked the lobster, very juicy and not overcooked, and of course you know that garlic butter would go well with it:) Oh and don’t forget to tell them to change your regular rice to garlic fried rice. It’s incredible! The ginger salad dressing is something else we enjoyed a lot! I heard that you can purchase it from the restaurant to take it home.

Highly impressed with the chef assigned to our table. My kids enjoyed the little cooking show. Whatever it is that he added on our fried rice, was hands down the best fried rice I’ve tasted. The salmon I ordered was cook to perfection. The only disappointment I had was the long wait time. We reserved to dine in in advanced however we still had to wait two hours. Aside from that, everyone in my party enjoyed the food.

A family favorite for birthdays and graduations. We celebrated here and had a talented cook. The food off the grill is average tasting. The sushi is fresh and cocktails 🍹 are good. Our wait staff did a great job with our large party. The wait times were too long for the hibachi table, and the culinary presentation is much shorter than it was in the past. Still a good place to eat!

While I've never been here before, my wife and her best friend since grade school took me here for my birthday. It was...an experience, but 1 I may not repeat again. When we arrived for our 630 reservation, we were told to wait, then walked to our table only to be told by a rude manager that we were sitting at the wrong table, and pushed back to the lounge to wait again. After another 1/2 hour, we finally got our party of 5 seated. A waitress promptly took our drink orders and messed them up handidly, even forget 2 cocktails that the ladies had ordered. After ordering our food, we waited for another 1/2 hour for our chef to arrive...and we're disappointed we didn't get the fancy show that the other tables had. Yes, He did 2 tricks, but our chef was no nonsense, and ZERO thrills... NO shrimp tossing or egg tossing. The waitress even neglected to place an order for a sushi roll a member of our party ordered. After the "Show," we waited, again, for 25 minutes for boxes and our dessert, finding out our waitress went on a break without telling us. Yes, the rice, soup, meats, and vegetables were cooked perfectly, but that's their job. The experience is what people go here for, and it just wasn't up to par. At $50+ per person, it would've been better suited for an all you can eat buffet. I will not go back, but I'm sure my wife and Her bestie will.

This is a nice restaurant, what really sucks is the wait time and your whole party having to be here before they check you in and after they check you in, you are probably waiting another 15 to 20 minutes. Everything else was good. The chef that cooked our food was really nice and knew how to do his job. Overall it was a good experience.

As far as hibachi steakhouses go, it's pretty consistent with the others that I have been to. Cook does a bunch of tricks and cooks the food in front of you. Steak, seafood, chicken, veggies, the sauces, rice, the soup, all consistent with my other experiences. This was my first visit with this franchise. The staff were polite and prompt. Mostly no complaints, it wasn't the best experience I've had but certainly not the worst. My plate was dirty, I don't like when servers carry your glass at the top and don't give you a straw. My food was ok.

After reading the reviews, my husband and I were quite concerned about our upcoming experience at benihana. The service was amazing.The cook was so much fun. I got the fillet and it was delicious. My husband also got steak and said that it was also delicious. True the restaurant inside is a little tired and their drink prices are OUTRAGEOUS regardless of happy hour, we still had a really good experience here.

Tonight I ate with my family at about 7pm. We were celebrating my mom's birthday. The placed was packed probably because of MLK day. Had a wait 20 minutes past our scheduled reservation, but the wait was worth it because of the awesome chef Janice and our attentive server Ben. Our server had greeted us and apologized in case the service was slow because he mentioned he was new to the restaurant. But it was all good because he seemed like he knew the menu and recommended I try their special wagyu. I tried out the A5 one and it was juicy and flavorful. Definitely a must-try for anybody who hasn't tried it. The chef Janice had done some amazing tricks like the onion volcano and the egg juggling. Janice even threw a shrimp piece into my mouth which I thought was funny. The fried rice WAS THE BEST!! Love the garlic butter they season it with. Overall, it kind of sucked having to wait to get sat, but it was worth it after we got sat and had a great experience eating at this location.

Nostalgic atmosphere. Diligent service. Food uninspired and behind the times. Salad dressing had an unforeseen coarse texture. Beef entrees seemed fine. Chicken (breast) was overcooked and dry. Accompanying sauces were plentiful but unexciting. Tempura was executed well, light, crispy, not oily. However, spicy tuna roll was unappetizing and returned but they refused to substitute despite our nearly $500 tab.

I ordered take-out for two, and while the food was really good, the front-of-house experience was disappointing. The hostess with pink hair was rude and unwelcoming. Within five minutes of being there, I knew I wouldn’t return. When my husband and I walked in, I let her know I had a pickup order. She responded with “What?” and made me repeat myself, even though she clearly heard me. She then waved her hand toward another counter and said, “It’s over there,” in a dismissive way. Great food, but the customer service at the front completely ruined the experience.

Personally, the food is not bad. However, there is a lot of miscommunication between the host and server. Also, the server is not being as detailed when explaining the menu. For example, I called in to ask about the happy hour at the reception, and they told me I could order from anywhere, including the tenpayaki, but nope. As soon as we sat down and asked for the happy hour menu, they said they only serve them at the lounge. Another example is ordering food from the specialty section of the menu. The server did not give us the hot tea or the steamed white rice that was supposed to be part of the course. Instead, she asked us if we wanted the Benihana fried rice, but did not mention that it would cost $9 each bowl (we got 4 of them). However, the chef was great. He was very passionate about what he was doing and engaged with us. We had a great conversation. Overall, the food was excellent; a little hard to talk, but expected. Service needs to improve.

I really wish I could rate this higher. My family and I were very excited to go into the restaurant and have a nice experience however, the grill master seem to be rather disinterested in cooking for us and we didn't get a whole lot of the extra frills that you normally would at a Benihana experience. The food was OK....a bit bland but the sauces help. We got exactly what we ordered however, I did feel like since my grandmother preferenced that she didn't want certain vegetables that should've been adhered to. The chef still gave them to her so she had to pick out her food which made her experience a little more frustrating. There was also a billing issue with the other party which made departure difficult since we had to work that out. If I go back to a dining experience like this, I won't be going to the Concord location.

Eh, it's been some years since I've been here. Unfortunately they prices went up and the entertainment and service went down. At least the food is still decent. Although I would have been happier if I went to Hana Japan instead. The floors in the bar area heading to the bathroom were slippery from the all the oil. My lady slipped and fell, the manager did not do anything about it, not even clean it (we watched someone else also fall after that). There's not much to say about this place except that you're paying for the entertainment of your food being prepared in front of you. This guy barely did any of that; at least the food was okay. It seemed the table next to us was having a great time. Maybe our chef was having an off day.

I got the trio Yakisoba. I wish I took a picture. You can try to go there and you will know what I meant. The salad in a saucer is small and blah. The soup was a broth with minimal onion string and has a thinly sliced mushroom..maybe 3 pcs. The main course is a noodle with few pcs of cocktail shrimp,chicken breast and beef. Literally counted 5 pcs of beef cubes, 5 pcs of chi hen breast cubes and 3-4 pcs of shrimp. The noodles is something that you can cook at home if you buy a yakisoba flavored noodles from the grocery. The presentation was unappetizing galore. The waitress was already giving us the check when we asked for the rest of the course and then she remembered to give us the ice cream but still did not give us the complete course. But it is okay. At that point, I lost interest. The service: Do not go on a busy holiday night. I do not entirely blame the waitress. The waitress was actually nice, overworked. After we were seated, tye waitresses that passed by does not want to look at us in the eyes. Hahaha. So we waited to be approached and after 30 minutes of waiting..I hailed one of the waitress who happen to accidentally come near our table. I asked if we can order and we were told that the assign waitress for us is on her break. So we said, okay we will wait. But at that point, I was about to go to the front desk when she came back and told us that she will just pick us up since she cannot find the waitress for us. Weird night,weird food preparation. And this is not my first time at Benihana. I thought it will be better but I guess, it is still lacking from all aspects.

What happened to Benihana? We had a 7:00 reservation. We checked in and was told there would be a 45 min wait. Did we want to wait or leave. We chose to wait. We were seated at 8:05. Other people at our table had a 6:15 reservation. Manager came to our table and offered a free appetizer for the delay. Our server was great our chef was great. But when the bill came we were charged for the appetizers. We had to wait 20 min for them to fix the bill. Benihana used to be an experience. It is very expensive and with those prices we expected over the top service and we did not get it. It’s not the serving or kitchen teams it is management. They overbook and then are surprised when everyone shows up. So sad and we will never go back. For that kind of money we could have gone to Ruth Chris for a great steak. So unfortunate and the management appeared to not care at all. . Good luck Benihana you will most likely be the next long time company to shut down. They do not understand service.

She snapped at me and said "we're seating you now." When finally seated I noticed 3 filthy plates with hairs, stains and food particles. The stove was in similar condition. I switched 2 of the plates with the 2 clean plates where no one was sitting. I waited for a server to get a clean plate. Our waiter came 10 minutes later to set up. He took our tables drink orders. He served the girls seated on the right then came back with waters for our side. Not what we ordered. 20 minutes later he brought us our drinks. My son ordered a milkshake. It was just ice with some chocolate, no ice cream. My drink was supposed contain alcohol. The waiter charged us for it. It is now 10:20 pm, still no chef. The waiter brought us the 1st part of our 6 course meal, a tiny bowl of top ramen broth without noodles accompanied with dirty spoons. The 2nd course was the worst salad you can imagine. The dressing tasted like rotten tuna fish. Not a single person at our table ate it. The waiter said nobody eats the salad. The waiter still never brought a refill for my son's drink. During this time we figured out what the burning plastic smell was. All the servers put the round trays on top of the grill. You can see the burning plastic melting onto the surface. We're getting ready to leave and my husband asked me if I checked the reviews. I told him I did, it had over 4 ⭐ So I decided to check again. When I opened up Google reviews there were 2 brand new reviews posted within the last hour. Both of them 1 ⭐. Specific tables were being treated differently. There was a guy walking around with a sampler platter explaining the types of meats that benihana has to offer. He never came by our table but did go to all the surrounding tables. We were getting ready to leave and at that moment, at 10:40 our chef showed up. Our reservation was for 9 and it is now nearly 11 pm. You can see the burnt plastic still on the stove. The chef doesn't clean the stove at all. You can see food from the previous service and the plastic and he just pours oil right on top along with the food and proceeds to cook. At this point it's past 11 pm and my son still hasn't gotten his drink. My husband asked the chef if the server was ever coming back or if he should just go to the bar. The chef didn't seem to know what was going on with the server so my husband just left. The chef knocked down some of the bowls so the waiter ended up coming back. The chef told the server my son still hadn't gotten his beverage. My husband got back with his drink and the server brought the drink at the same time. He then asked the waiter about the Merlot he requested three times. He didn't get it while he was at the bar because the order had already been put in. He said that he was going to go get it but he never came back again. Our lobsters were all mangled looking. The chef chopped them up into a bunch of pieces and then put them back in the shell. They tasted chewy, over salty and gross. When the chef brought out the stakes the two filet mignons were brown colored, like they were spoiled. These long flat tiny pieces all stuck together. It did not resemble any cut of steak I've ever seen. Not a New York, a ribeye, not even a flank. I also noticed while the steaks were heating up, the filet mignons just fell off into a bunch of pieces. No he did not cut them yet. Like the glue holding the steak together melted. I have never seen that in my life. The waiter brought our receipt. The Merlot was on the bill but never received. The waiter said he would go get it for him but we were ready to go, We told him to take it off the bill. We were supposed to get ice cream with our six course meal and he actually said he wasn't going to bring it. At least our chef tried to give us a show. The chef that was at the table directly behind ours didn't do anything. I found out that my meat was rancid. I got incredibly sick later on.

To be honest, this benihana could have done better all around. In my opinion they should have taken better care in seating My family. They put us in an uncomfortable situation next to some people who basically avoided us the entire time and then when the chef came out at the hibachi he did his thing but he seemed like he had like no energy whatsoever. By the time we were done with our food I was not feeling good. The chef behind us was doing a bigger better show than the chef that we had. My daughter was not entertained in the slightest by this guy and then we had an issue with our bill being wrong. The waiter messed it up apparently. Obviously by accident. He tried to almost overcharge us by about 70 to $90 as for the atmosphere, it was incredibly uncomfortable and the room we were put in for the hibachi in my opinion was lacking color and lacking vibe it felt like we were put into a closet with three hibachi grills I wound up spending about $140 including the tip on what felt like a really bad dinner that same night and earlier the next morning after we came home. Not only did I puke but so did my almost 2-year-old daughter so I do not know what they fed us. We do not have any food allergies so there should have been no way that we were all vomiting at the end of this meal maybe the chef didn't properly wash his hands I don't know but what I do know is that we got sick on $140 meal at a restaurant that from what I understand is supposed to be high-end and nice and you would think these kinds of restaurants would be more considerate to the people that are paying that amount of money I mean heck. I drove 2 and 1/2 hours just to go here to get a lame show a bad meal put in a closet to be overcharged and then I had to wait over 45 minutes for it to get fixed before I could leave with my daughter, we did not get home until almost midnight because of it and my reservation was at 7:00 Do not come here

We waited over an hour after our reservation time even though we were told that they would “only” be 30 minutes behind, then waited at the table they didn’t have enough chairs at for over 30 more minutes before someone who wasn’t even a server for our table showed up to at least let us order drinks. 45 minutes after we were sat at our table we finally got water and a manager finally came to take our order after flagging down many different employees during that time. It took an hour and a half of sitting at the table that we were brought to after another hour of waiting beyond our reservation to get any food. The managers were hustling to make up for literally everything else but the whole thing was a bigger mess than the Deepwater Horizon oil spill

Worst dining experience I've had at a benihana. I really like Benihana, but I don't recommend this location in Concord. I could say a few things, but what surprised me was the $39 special they offered my girlfriend and me when we arrived. I was expecting to get a Hibachi and not just dry fried rice with no flavor at all. The waitress asked how cooked the meat was, and I said medium rare, and I received small pieces of meat well done. The vegetables that were supposed to come with the dish were just zucchini with lots of black pepper. The shrimp my girlfriend ordered seemed like they had been boiled in water, with no flavor at all. I'm sure they weren't grilled. Finally, they didn't even have Yum Yum sauce that day. I hope they improve this because I've had great experiences at every Benihana I've been to in my life.

My wife and I went to the sit down area because it was very busy which was fine. Didn’t catch the waitress’s name but she is a young black girl who is in training but has a bad attitude and I have never felt so much racism toward us. To start off she gave us attitude because my wife and I only wanted to drink water. When we ordered our food we couldn’t tell her how we wanted our steak because she rushed over to go take the order of a black couple. We got our soup and salad which was fine but when we got our main meal we didn’t get any of the sauces. It took me asking at least 5 times to get the sauce and by then my food was cold. We also ordered sushi rolls and we didn’t get that till after our meal but the couple she rushed to go help got theirs with no problem. It was bad enough other waiters and waitresses noticed and started to help us with what we needed. So thank you to them and because of them we were able to get soy sauce for the rolls which took for ever to come out. When she brought our check there was a sushi roll on it that we didn’t order and didn’t get. When we told her she gave us attitude. We asked for our ice cream and tea while we were paying and she asked what we wanted and never came back after we paid. She finally noticed we were still sitting there and said “do you want a check or something” with attitude. We finally got our ice cream and tea and then left pretty unhappy and it’s sad how down hill this location is coming because of young people like this. Needless to say she came to our table for a total of 3-4 times getting everything wrong while she made sure the black couple at the other table was waited on hand and foot. The racist feeling from this girl was really upsetting and it will be awhile before we return and we will be suggesting to other to not come to this location because of this experience. Terrible service and no accountability. She wouldn’t even get the manager when we asked.

After going to Benihana for over 20 years, I decided to bring my wife for her birthday along with her grandparents and our firstborn daughter for her very first hibachi experience. What should have been a memorable family night turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in years. Not only was the service extremely poor, but the individual going table to table attempting to upsell “higher quality” steak cuts appeared visibly impaired and unprofessional — to the point it was uncomfortable for guests around us. It honestly looked like they were under the influence of opioids, which is completely unacceptable in a restaurant environment, especially around families and children. The food itself only made things worse. My steak arrived undercooked, while the lobster was severely overcooked and rubbery. For a restaurant that prides itself on presentation and consistency, this was a complete failure across the board. After more than two decades of being a customer, this experience guaranteed one thing — I will not be returning.

Took my daughter here for her 24th birthday. We've been to many locations over the years but this one hands down provided the worst family experience. When seated they asked if we were celebrating anything yet when they did happy birthday as outer table they forgot my daughter. Even though we were the first family to sit. We had to remind them about both appetizers that we orders since they never came. All the food was heavily peppered, especially the rice. No one asked if we had any food allergies. The cook was not interactive at all. We did enjoy a few minutes of the cook behind us. This is the first and last visit for this location and we probably won't visit any other anytime soon.

By 7:40 PM, there was still no explanation, no update, and no sign that our meal was going to start. The lack of communication and the unequal treatment made us feel uncomfortable and ignored. We ultimately decided to leave without eating. Waiting that long without even beginning the main course is unacceptable, especially at a hibachi restaurant where timing and coordination are essential. Very disappointing experience.

We had a reservation for 7:15 PM, but were not seated until nearly 9:00 PM. To make matters worse, we had to wait almost an hour just to see a chef. The entire experience was incredibly disappointing and felt like a complete waste of time. When we spoke with the manager about the long wait, he promised compensation for the inconvenience. However, when we finally received our bill, we found that some items were charged that we didn’t even order. It was explained that the food would be removed, but instead of simply keeping our compensation, the amount we were ‘compensated’ was deducted from the food charges. In the end, we ended up paying the same amount as we would have without any compensation. I’ve had better experiences at other hibachi restaurants, and I’d honestly prefer driving out of my way to the San Francisco Benihana’s location rather than returning to this one. This entire visit was a major disappointment, and I won’t be back.

Loud, noisy, and overwhelming. The ambiance is abysmal. We waited for forty minutes for our reservation and still there were ten more reservations in front of us who had yet to be seated. What is the point of a reservation? They were behind and unapologetic. Front desk was unashamed. We found much better service at the Chik-Fil-A next door.

This is the place I would never go again. Did reservation and showed up there on time. Ended up waiting for more than an hour. When we go and approach the person how long we would be waiting, they get frustrated and show the queue of people waiting. They wait and club 2 other small groups in the same table along with us. After that it's long wait to take the order. That was ok, but they took the order, never brought the drinks and water. 2 times people showed up to check if everything is ok. When we said we are still waiting for water, they apologize and will have someone bring. But no one brings it. The menu that we chose had salad and soup, but they bought those after we are done with the main course and desert. Yes, that's real.

I’m really disappointed with the Concord Benihana location, and after several years of declining service, this most recent visit sealed the deal for me. I’ve come here many times in the past, and it used to be a fun, dependable family restaurant but the quality and customer service have gotten worse each time. On my latest visit, things went downhill immediately. The meat was served rare, even though I clearly asked for it to be cooked through. The server never circled back to check on us, and it felt like once the food hit the grill, we were on our own. When we tried to address the issue, the waiter became noticeably uncomfortable and didn’t know how to handle it. The manager’s response was even more disappointing. Instead of trying to fix the problem or even apologize, the manager was defensive and dismissive. It felt like the focus was on proving they weren’t wrong instead of providing any kind of customer service. We spent over 30 minutes just trying to get the bill corrected due to the issues with the meal and the service. By that point, the entire experience was stressful, awkward, and honestly embarrassing for a restaurant of this brand. What really pushed me to write this review is that I reached out via email afterward, hoping someone would acknowledge the situation or at least respond. No one ever got back to me. Not a call, not an email, nothing. The lack of follow-up says a lot about how little this location values its customers and their feedback. The sad part is that this wasn’t an isolated bad night the Concord location has been going downhill for years. Every visit has had some kind of issue, and instead of improving, things have only gotten worse. At this point, I can’t recommend this Benihana at all. Other locations do much better, but Concord needs serious improvement in customer service, management, and basic food quality. There was a lot more that happened that time, but it would make this review even longer. It wasn’t just a steak. It was my son’s food. It was another person‘s food who was in our party who is vegan, multiple things? I hope they take these reviews seriously, because it used to be a great place for families, and it’s disappointing to see it fall this far.

Yesterday my family and I dined at the Concord location with an 8:00 PM reservation, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We arrived on time and waited about 20 minutes before being seated in a very small room near the entrance, elbow to elbow with another family. There were 7 of us and 4–5 in the other party, and the space was clearly too tight. We had to tell staff that we could not comfortably dine there because there simply wasn’t enough room. Initially, no one gave us a clear response. After asking again, we were told they were “getting a table ready,” but no timeframe was provided. We waited another 25–30 minutes before finally being seated at an appropriate table. While our waitress was kind and attentive, the biggest issue was the lack of communication and overall management of the evening. After being reseated, we waited nearly an hour for a chef to come cook for us. No one from management came to explain the delay or apologize. The only communication we received was from a hostess who briefly said, “7 more minutes,” which unfortunately was not accurate. By 9:40 PM, my husband had to personally ask when a chef would be coming because we had been there since 8:00 PM with drinks and appetizers, but no actual dinner. We didn’t begin eating until around closing time (10:00 PM). When we asked the chef about the delay, he shared that he had been rushed and hadn’t even had a proper break. It was clear the staff was working very hard under poor management conditions. This does not reflect on the employees — it reflects on how the restaurant is being run. * The first photo shows the time (8:20 PM) while we were still waiting to be seated, despite having a reservation. The second photo shows the time we left. We didn’t start eating until closing time.

This was a $50+ DoorDash order, and it felt like a complete rip-off. The “Hibachi Steak Fried Rice (Serves 4)” arrived as a single small takeout box that looked like a one-person portion. Nowhere close to what was advertised. The $9.50 mushroom/onion soup contained almost no mushrooms—just a dark, salty broth that tasted like instant mix from a grocery store. Very misleading description, very poor value, and extremely disappointing overall. Save your money and order somewhere else.

Went here Friday night for my son's birthday. I made reservations for 5:45p but unfortunately didn't arrive until 6:20p. Upon arrival there was very minimal amount of parking. When I went to the front desk and explained to the host I had reservations he told me 5mins. So after waiting 15mins and not being seated I went back to the front desk and asked what was going on. The guys automatically assumed I was with a large group of African American women. So he proceeded to tell me "I already seated your group" SMH. I let him know I wasn't with that group and I was a party of three like I explained before. He apologized his mistake but if he would have listened the first time that mistake would not have been made. He claimed we had the same name which was honestly hard to believe. Once we were in was to our table with two other groups of three. The lady that lead us to the table was rude and dismissive. Once we were seated, the table was extremely crowded. The server was not attentive to my group. He brought everyone a drink except for my son. My son waited about 10-15minutes after everyone else just to get water. The soup and salad serving was very small about two bites. From there we waited almost 2hrs. for a cook. At least the cook we had did an amazing job on the food. The discount was they gave us was only $25 when honestly we should have got half off. Before seated all of they could have given us a heads up on them being short staff. Today is Saturday and my party of 3 all are sick from being in such a small area with a large amount of people

Extremely disappointing experience. We were not properly seated and were placed at the bar, which did not seem to be a designated customer area. The food presentation was unacceptable, we didn’t eat it. My daughter received the wrong order and they still tried to charge us. The same happened with my drink. When my meal was remade, it still looked poorly prepared and careless. Seating was cramped, the restaurant felt disorganized, and customers were even allowed to bring in outside food. I understand busy service, but staff need better training on handling guests respectfully and efficiently during peak hours. Presentation, accuracy, and basic customer care were all lacking.

This place has fallen off. My food was straight garbage. My steak looked like dog food. I ordered medium and it looked liked it was cooked yesterday. My server didn’t care at all. I asked multiple times if she was sure it was cooked to medium and she kept saying yes. I just sent back to the kitchen she she still charged me for a $9 cup of rice I didn’t eat. You would expect for a place at this price point there would be some sort of service expectation. Almost every chair in this place needed to be reupholstered. They definitely aren’t putting any of the proceeds into maintenance of the restaurant. The only reason I ended up here was for a birthday dinner, never again. I rather spend $30 at the Korean BBQ place down the street. Definitely would not recommend this place with all the options around.
