We went on our wedding anniversary. I had also ordered flowers to surprise my wife. When we went to our table, a beautiful bouquet of flowers was waiting for us, we were very pleased. We got the 7 courses menu with wine pairings. We were very pleased with both the food and the wines. The service and atmosphere were very good, the time between courses was sufficient, we enjoyed it very much. Thank you again.
Fantastic Experience, this restaurant is on its way to a Michelin star. The service was perfect, the food was brilliant. Great wine list.
Wonderful food skilfully overseen by Chef Andrea Besana. The menu changes regularly depending on produce availability. Definitely worth a visit, and certainly not over expensive for the quality. They also have an excellent wine list. Wine pairings are available when having the tasting menu.
Food: The watermelon tartar and the cod were exceptional. Harmonious taste with several levels (crisp, sour, creamy). The cod was perfectly cooked on point. The chef made a good course menu pairing for us. Compliments to the entire kitchen team! Interior Design: The entrance door and the kitchen were well paired in dark brown colours. The Brut glass 🥂 was also impeccable with it's design. Service: Bread crumbles stayed on the table since the entree on our table and we had to remove it by ourselves. Service was okay but far from impeccable.
We had an incredible time at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was attentive and provided excellent service throughout our meal. Now, let’s talk about the food – it was simply outstanding! Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding a touch of artistry to our dining experience. The flavors were a delightful blend of creativity and quality ingredients. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Thank you to the entire team for making our evening so enjoyable! Keep up the fantastic work!
Our table of six had a fantastic experience this restaurant yesterday evening. The food and service were excellent and the atmosphere was perfect for us. We all enjoyed the five course tasting menu with wine pairing. We requested seafood oriented dishes. For a few of us, the mussel dish was one of our favourites. My apologies for disturbing the plating in a couple of the dishes I photographed. I obviously had other things on my mind like how spectacular the food is here.
Quite a good surprise We found this restaurant a bit by chance while scrolling across ones with good reviews. Once through the heavy entrance door, you immediately see the semi open kitchen on the left while you are welcomed by the staff. You are then led to the intimate dining room (~30 seats) that has a cave-like touch with its arch-shaped brick ceiling. We were served a squid minestrone appetizer with a marinated radish slice, with a touch of mayonnaise made with champagne vinegar. Four types of bread were available during the diner, and they were all excellent (French people here, we are very picky on this topic). We both chose the two-course menu, with pairing wines (one glass with each course). The nettle leaf gnocchi with blueberries were great, and the lamb crepinette was an interesting setup. It was the first time we tried amberjack, therefore we did not know what to expect, but we liked it. The rice of the white asparagus risotto may have needed a longer cooking as we found it a bit too crunchy. The wine were all Italians, and the rosé coming with the lamb is a local product from 5 terre. The restaurant's choice for pairing them with the food was good, although we chose to switch glasses between the gnocchi and the amberjack. The blueberries brought some acidity and the selected wine reinforced that taste, a bit too much. The wine coming with the amberjack was sweeter in comparison, and the balance was better. On the other hand, we thought the acidity brought a different dimension to the fish. We continued with desserts, and the black forest was exquisite, although it definitely did not look like one. The blueberries cream tart was very light, and crunchy at the same time. Finally, when we thought we were done, we were brought sweet chocolates (a kind of mignardise), stuffed with various flavors (raspberry, coconut...), and a candied fruit paste. We also had the opportunity to discuss with the chef when we left. He told us a bit about the background of the restaurant and he offered us to try other mignardises. Total bill was 132 EUR and it was definitely worth each cent.
Wow! Just wow, I did not expect to find a place like this here. My wife and I were on our honeymoon planning to visit Cinque Terre the next day and we’re just looking for a nice dinner ahead of our trip. This was beyond our expectations, the food was prepared to perfection, everything perfectly made with just the right taste profile, and then the wine matched and enhanced every note of the meal. I highly recommend making the journey to La Spezia if just to have a meal at Andree.
I believe if you are looking for a food experience in a lovely setting than try this place. But we felt the flavor of the food did not match the presentation of the food. It was expensive with a huge wine list by region and grapes vs. type of wine and then regions. No help with wine selection was frustrating. Service was strange when we were there on October 19th.
My fiancé and I came here a year ago and it was so lovely. Unfortunately this time it almost felt like "normal" cooking but plated in a nice way. Nothing extraordinary about the taste. It's a super lovely atmosphere and the service is good but the food is not up to the Michelin standard.
The tasting menu is not of a Michelin quality. Not surprising that it is just listed in Michelin guide without a star recognition. There is no flavor in the food, and no character in the major ingredient. Couldn't feel what I am actually eating. Mostly a mouthful of mousse. Pairing wines consisted of all whites except the last one red. Other a la carte menus might be different since I haven't had a chance to taste.
We got the 5 courses menu and liked the most the sweets + pasta dish. They have an interesting selection of local wines. I agree with some of the comments below, compared with other restaurants from the Michelin guide that we have tried, this one falls short for both presentation and staff training. For a fine dining experience in the area, it is worth to give it a try. The price is fair compared with other similar places in Italy.
They place is beautiful but we left unsatisfied with the experience. We've been to Michelin places before, but this one fell short. We tried the 5-course menu with wine pairings, but nothing really stood out. The dishes were the same as what you could get individually. We were hoping for some surprises from the chef, but it didn't happen. If was to chose I would not chosen that ones. They even served a soup as last and main dish since I said I don’t eat meat… and it wasn't great. We normally hope to finish with a nice meal before desert but this didn’t happen. In the menu there were better options to finish with I could have chosen. They serve too much bread and it feels overwhelming and unnecessary. And the wine pairings weren't much better. They served Prosecco and two white wines, and one really bad rosé with the main dish. NO RED WINE. And to finish a dessert wine, which no one never likes. If you want to try the restaurant I recommend to chose your dishes and your wine. You will have a much better experience.
Really underwhelmed. It was a Monday night, so maybe not the best night to visit. Food was at best, average. This was the most expensive meal, and least tasty meal we had in our time in Italy. I work in Food, and have high hopes if the restaurant is in the Michelin guide. This didn't live up to expectations. First 2 courses, good, next 3 courses average at best. I wouldn't race back. Sorry.
Fine dining restaurant. Excellent atmosphere! Attentive staffs, very gentle and patient. Creative food display like artwork, Taste odd or some even has no food taste, meat overcook. The recommended wines both is not as good. Everything is well set but hope to see the enhancement on the taste of the food which is prime for the restaurant. Price is at high side with the quality of the food. Extremely difficult for parking lot, rounding for almost 1 hour and hardly get space.
Our party of four world travelers were very disappointed. The wait staff seems to have been trained to whisper because we had to ask them to repeat themselves frequently. It took over 20 minutes to get the bottle of wine we ordered. Even though we were dining early, they were out of one dish and had only one of another. One diner had only one dish for an entree but it was served when others were served their appetizers. The overly pretentious waiter seemed to not even notice when our wine glasses became empty. The food wasn’t good at all. Its as if the chef was trying to be over-the-top imaginative.
Unfortunately the menu does not match the set-up and price category of this restaurant. We have been in many menu restaurants in the past and this was the worst experience. We tried out the 5 course menu with wine pairing. Non of these plates were somehow special and both pasta dishes have not been tasty at all, especially not the chard rigatoni. Dessert was more than simple. The service was engaged, but it was hard to understand the explanation of each dish. Best part of the evening was the wine pairing.
