What an absolute neighbourhood gem! The coffee was incredibly smooth and velvety, perfectly balanced and rich without being overpowering. The chai was just as impressive, beautifully spiced and comforting. And the cheesy biscuits… wow. As a Brit who prides herself on making a good cheesy biscuit/scone, I can honestly say these were fab…buttery, full of flavour and the perfect pairing with my yummy morning drink. Greg was a wonderful host…warm, curious and genuinely engaging. The conversation flowed as easily as the coffee, making the whole experience feel relaxed and special. What a delightful experience on my first time to LA. A true local treasure I highly recommend, wish it could be my local.
Excellent coffee and always a favorite place to pick up beans to take home - love their Gesha blend and now trying Eli Espinoza beans from Peru.
Cute atmosphere. Outdoor and indoor seating. Coffee was great - had a flat white that was creamy and a little fruity. The barista was also super nice.
Decided to head down to Cognoscenti Coffee on December 6, 2023. There was plenty of paid parking (11:30am weekday), parked right in front, hassle free. Upon entering, we were greeted by the barista right away. As always, a warm greeting adds to the experience and environment. The barista made sure to answer any questions. Regarding the environment, it’s welcoming and not aimed for a specific group of people (hipsters), as mentioned by other reviewers. There was plenty of seating inside, outside, and in their “patio” (located within the building). I ordered a v60 pour-over, beans offered were Gesha from Chiapas Mexico, and my partner ordered a hot vanilla latte. Upon receiving the drinks, the latte caught my attention, meticulously crafted with flawless foam. The pour-over was executed well, perfect temperature that allowed the coffee to elicit notes of orange, furthermore the last couple of sips I noted more of the ginger. I did not receive any bitterness nor acidity. Upon finishing my pour-over, I took a sip of the vanilla latte, which had a delightful taste of vanilla (not the typical generic vanilla), I do believe it’s house made. If you’re reading up to this point, Cognoscenti offers pastries from Friends & Family, which I’ve had countless of times now, their pastries are flaky, soft, and delicious (make sure to get it warmed up to get the full experience). Furthermore, enjoy the drinks in a mug or glass. Overall, the pour-over was great and the vanilla latte as well. The barista was attentive and friendly. Would I recommend this location to friends or family? Yes I would and I will definitely return to try out the other beans offered for the v60.
Coffee delicious! Omg the flavor incredibly rich and full of aromas. I got a latte with liquid sugar and a chocolate croissant. Its hard to see it from the street but if you walk to address you wont miss it. I definitely recommend.
Balanced espresso with well-steamed milk and inventive, delicious house made syrups. The Crème Brûlée Latte, Honey Latte, and Molasses Cappuccino were all great. Can’t go wrong here!
I’ve lived in Culver City on and off for about half a decade. The area has seen a huge growth in the number coffee shops. Tucked away in the further corner of the Culver City Arts District, Cognoscenti Coffee has been the place I go when I want to feel peace and quiet over a cappuccino. Today’s drink felt like a special treat, on an unseasonably warm and sunny day even for LA. The staff is kind and friendly yet not overly chatty and they pump out quality drinks to everyone in rapid succession despite only having two gentleman working the counter. Thanks for being a staple in the neighborhood.
This may be a surprise because it’s so low key here but this is the most consistent, best coffee shop in Los Angeles. I live about 5 miles from here but I come through any chance I get in the mornings when I’m in this area. The two gentlemen that work here are extremely nice and I couldn’t recommend this shop enough.
they use single origin for their cold brew. you can taste the notes of the bean
Latte is pleasantly sized (10oz instead of the usual 12oz), very consistent over the years and the people here have a great attitude. Not big on pastries, usual croissants and muffins, but limited.

I seriously adore this place. The staff, the ambiance, the COFFEE/ESPRESSO just all 10/10. This is high quality beverages by people who care and are knowledgeable about their craft. Definitely my favorite place to go every morning, best coffee in the area.

Nice small spot with a few tables insides and an outside seating in small courtyard and sidewalk. My latte was delicious and the they serve in mug if you order to stay
Really good coffee, honestly some of the best in the area. It’s definitely my go-to spot around here.
Serious about their coffee. The best pistachio milk I have had anywhere. They’re tied for the best coffee I’ve had in LA and winning of the race in terms of the quality of their nut milk.
Replying the review below - I was also a customer at the coffee shop when this person came by. The barista kindly apologized and said he can only have dogs on the patio due to health code if you wouldn’t mind taking your dog outside. You stormed out of the coffee shop in a huff slamming the door behind you. You were very rude, please don’t be rude 🤷
I come for a matcha latte and the delicious virtu bowls they have there after my morning long runs and it’s the best treat
Iced brûlée latte: 5/5 Nice little coffee shop, and Razan, the barista, was very kind

Fantastic cold brew, exactly what I wanted. It's a relaxed atmosphere and everyone there knows what they're doing. Definitely a hidden gem in Culver City, will absolutely be returning.
Cute spot in the culver neighborhood. Matcha is good here. They also have nice coffee.
I have been to Cognoscenti Coffee in Culver City a few times and my cortado or cappuccino has always been on point, great look and taste. On top of that, they carry fantastic pastries from Friends & Family, which I think has the best wholesale pastries in LA. The small storefront has an industrial vibe that quite fits Culver City, and the little outdoor patio has a strange appeal to me. I would have gone back more often but one of the baristas has a condescending vibe that I don't appreciate. Also, once he went from counting a deck of dollar bills straight to making my coffee. I was definitely not comfortable.

Cute coffee shop at the heart of Culver City, just few steps away from The Platform. Plenty of street parking spaces available on weekend afternoon. You could easily grab your cup of joe and also walk around the platform. At my visit I could see many guests who seemed to be regulars, just stopped by for grab and go. The coffee was decent and the baristas were super friendly. Also for the price, the size was pretty worthy.

Went there for pastries. Quite disappointed. The chocolate croissant was $6 but only had a very tiny bit of chocolate… overpriced… the latte was ok. I wouldn’t recommend their pastries. Would come back for their coffee.

Well I once had the perfectly frothed milk with an exceptional shot at this place, but it's been pretty bad the last two times I've tried this place. This time the shot was burned slightly, the milk has poor texture. If you get bad coffee get them to make again until the milk has no large bubbles.
Never encountered such a rude barista or felt so unwelcomed at a cafe. Policies make 0 sense. Says they dont allow dogs inside where you have to be to order your coffee and that they're only allowed in the patio. How am I supposed to order my coffee if you won't even let me inside with my dog, this is ridiculous it should only take you 20 seconds to take my order and i’ll be on my way to the patio. Instead of giving your customers with dogs attitude and instructions that basically tell me you hate dogs, a simple 'dogs are only allowed in the patio' would suffice, AFTER YOU LET THEM PLACE THEIR ORDER
