Wow, fantastic bakery and cafe. An amazing "dirty Chai" which was my first, it's a shot of exspresso added to a chai blew my mind delicious. Wound up eating biscuits and gravy a stunning dish with the perfect ration of biscuit to gravy and maybe the best breakfast potatoes I have ever had. Wife had the chicken and waffles and personally I have never been a fan of any white meat chicken, again I was proved wrong the tenders were crisp juicy and delicious. Took a six pack of croissants home, I am sure I will not be disappointed.
The atmosphere, the service….the FOOD! It was all perfect, and worth every penny! My wife got the Cacio e Pepe and I got the jaegerschnitzel - both were AMAZING. Even the bread (okay, especially the bread!) was absolutely perfect and worth returning for. We will be back!
Really great spot for brunch! The staff were kind and knowledgable about the menu. They had a great selection of seasonal menu items & we were given suggestions by our server. We ordered the seasonal Apple, Bacon, & Brie Crepes and the Chicken and Waffles! The crepes were filled with gooey warm brie cheese and all the flavors complimented each other so well! You can tell the chef is trained in classic french flavors! The chicken and waffles are a brunch staple elevated. The jalapeños in the waffles made for the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors. Pro tip, be sure to order extra of the maple remoulade that comes on the side, you’ll thank me later! To drink we had the fun and festive white cranberry mimosa and a dirty chai latte, both were incredible. Finally (not pictured) we ordered a pistachio and chocolate crossiant to take home. It was perfectly laminated, really a textbook high quality pastry! While this place is pretty expensive, it is a nice splurge. Well worth the money. I will be coming back to try the dinner menu.
Shout out Alexa, she was stellar! I would like to come back in for breakfast. The dinner service is stellar. The dinner service offers a weekly rotating menu that is loaded with unique and well executed options. $14 for a massive bread/butter/oil pairing was a treat in the modern restaurant economy. I thoroughly enjoyed my short ribs and I had little bites of everything that everyone else got and it was all stellar. The portion sizes are large and the plates are comical in size. I love them. The Pistachio Basque Cheesecake was a unique twist on an old favorite, and I was quite impressed. I also had a Chai Latte to end the night which was rich and creamy. Hope to be back sooner than later.
Still my favorite brunch place. Steven our server was wonderful. Loved my braised rib omelet! Will be back in April for another birthday brunch. 10/10 I will say this was my first time eating indoors, wish it was a tad bit bigger. I’ve gone in the warmer months and eaten on the patio.
Honestly the best place ever. My husband and I go here every time we have something celebrate, and we make up excuses to go whenever we can. This is one of the only restaurants we've gone to that we admit we could NOT make it better at home. We've been going for years and have never left dissapointed. Their flavor combinations inspire us to cook new things at home. My favorite things are their fall harvest crepe, breakfast potatoes, bacon & egg croissant, chicken & waffles, seasonal french toast, and smash burger. It's a long list, the hardest part about going is deciding what to have! They do it all flawlessly. The servers are also great at making recommendations.
Cute little patio. Casual seating. Our server was very nice. Cappuccino was delicious. We ordered the steak and eggs and the blitzes. Steak was cooked perfectly the egg was cooked well. The blitzes had a lovely hint of orange in the cream cheese. We chose pastry to go and those were the highlight. They have a drive thru and o would recommend grabbing any pastry there with a cup of coffee. Over all a good experience.
This place was busy and for good reason! But it still didn’t take too long to get seated for 2. We had the avocado toast with eggs and the biscuits and gravy and both were delicious! Huge portions and fresh ingredients for everything. French press coffee was very good! Our server was very friendly and quick to keep our drinks filled even though it was a busy Sunday. The bakery items looked incredible as well and they had a large selection.
This cafe and bakery is truly delightful. The atmosphere is lovely, and its charm is comforting, with a simple yet contemporary flair. The service reflects the overall tenor of the genre; it is responsive, affable, and efficient. Alexis and Aaron offer the experience of seasoned restaurant staff. The Veal Parmigiana and Fish and Chips were notable. Perhaps the fries could benefit from a bit more seasoning. The breads, consistent with being an outstanding bakery, were wonderful. Overall, the experience was well worth the time and expense. While it is a bit pricey, the portions are extremely generous, served on oversized plates. My take-home container will provide meals for two days. The Blue Door Cafe and Bakery gets two thumbs up.
i go here at least once a month. i am always happy! i get the quiche every time and love that it rotates! the pastries are incredible and service is too. blue door is the best!
Wow wow wow. Phenomenal breakfast and brunch, but the pastries were the star! We also got some of their homemade English muffins to go. Cozy atmosphere, we sat at the bar and our server was a gem. Also got an iced caramel macchiato with their house made vanilla bean syrup. Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding, everyone was so kind, welcoming and smiling!!! Will make a trip to Akron from Columbus JUST to come here! 😍
My friends and I each ordered something different and all loved our meals. I would be back; I’m pretty picky with brunch and I would rank this as a top choice. One less star because their lattes were average. We went at 8:30 am so there was a ton of seating but it got pretty busy by 9:30-10 a.m. They also appear to have a wide selection of pastries - we were too stuffed to try any but the drive through was busy with locals getting their fix :)
First time here with a colleague and it was such an amazing experience. We both are foodies, so the menu at this place was the perfect thing. The service was also top notch, Kyle is the server that took care of our table and he did a phenomenal job. He made great recommendations and made sure that our food came out fresh and hot. All in all great experience! Recommended.
We have been here many times over the years for breakfast and dinner. The food is always excellent. As of late their baked goods have improved in quality and the price for what you get is amazing. This is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at and I have been to a Michelin star restaurant and another Michelin star bakery and Blue Door is on par with both of those places.
My group of 5 retirees stopped on a Thursday morning. We pick a different breakfast venue each month. When I arrived, the others were already seated. Our server, Alexa immediately got the coffee pouring and came back several times to refill our mugs. I went with the classic eggs Benedict. You can get fruit or salad as a side and it is served with breakfast potatoes. I do not usually have salad for breakfast but chose it. First of all, the eggs were poached perfectly and they make a nice hollandaise. It also contains avocado, which was a nice touch. The potatoes were also crispy, but that is the way I like them. My friends ordered the crepes and another pancakes. He commented these were the best pancakes he ever had. My food was great and I thought the proportion was also a perfect size. Some might think this place is expensive but everything is made from scratch, so you get what you pay for. With tip, my breakfast was a little over $30. The place is clean, they also have outside seating and the pastries in the bakery looked delicious. Alexa was also on the ball and efficient.
Took some out of town friends to dinner. Made a reservation and was very impressed. The food was hot and fresh. I enjoyed the smoked eggplant for my main. Shared the focaccia and the spread was amazing! I recommend giving it a try. I also enjoyed the N/A selections. The LITT blueberry kombucha and Sunshine State Tropical IPA were great additions to my meal. My friend enjoyed the Your gonna need an Uber. Our waiter was wonderful and attentive! I can’t wait to go back for lunch or dinner!
This place is a hub for chef inspired dishes that could be in New York. We go at least once a month for an enjoyable experience with taste. I would suggest trying any of their monthly specials. You really can’t make a bad choice here. The inside restaurant is a bit loud and can sometimes overwhelm the senses.
I had a wonderful birthday brunch with my family at Blue Door Cafe & Bakery, and it was such a delightful experience! The elevated brunch menu featured seasonal dishes that added a fresh twist to classic favorites. Everyone found something they loved, and it was great to see how the menu changes to highlight what's in season. The kids had plenty of options, making it a truly family-friendly spot. One standout for the adults was the Orange Spice Old Fashioned—an inventive take on a classic cocktail that perfectly complemented the meal. Just a heads-up, though: the cafe is quite small, so it's best to get on the waitlist ahead of time. We waited in our car until we received a text, which was super convenient and helped us avoid blocking the entrance. Once we were seated, it was well worth the wait! If you’re looking for a cozy place to enjoy a special brunch, Blue Door is definitely a great choice.
it really is as delicious as the other reviews claim. The service was also fast and efficient. It is pretty small place, so there might be a wait but well worth it. I hope to be back there when I am in town.
My wife and I went to breakfast here over the weekend. Very impressed with their bakery and food. We’re foodies, so good quality food is very important to us. Service was quick, server was nice and attentive. I had the breakfast burger and shared a dish of banana foster French toast. Both dishes were fantastic! Plenty of menu options that can make it challenge to narrow down your order. My wife and I agreed we’ll be back to try more dishes.
One of the best brunch places around! Make sure to take home some croissants and other baked goods. Breakfast burrito is my favorite but the tartine appetizer was incredible!!
The service is always amazing and the food is always SO good. We took my dad for his birthday and he was very impressed. No reservations, but get on their website and add yourself to the waitlist while you go enjoy a shop or park close by. :)
Our first time in and we were not disappointed. Portions were huge, pastries were fresh and the seasonal mimosas we had were great 👍🏻
The food is delicious. We joined the brunch waitlist before we got to the restaurant and got a table on the patio when we arrived. I had the Carmel Valley Breakfast Quiche. My friend had the Old Town San Diego Carnitas omelette. Service was friendly and attentive. Will be back to try other menu items. The patio was in the shade when we got there about 10:45 am.
I can’t say enough good things. Service, drinks, food and atmosphere. It’s busy so I recommend reservations.
Now this restaurant...I couldn't say more amazing things about this place. Their mission station and food passion will NEVER take a compromise. They source and seek out only the highest of quality ingredients and get whatever they can from local producers whenever possible. They have an amazing menu that has some standard items but also some seasonal items that make you wanting to come back as the seasons change..so you can enjoy the amazingness that is created here. I've had breakfast here about 5 times in the past 18months and I'm so excited to try their newly arrived dinner that they now offer, I believe 3 days a week. You can really taste the love and quality in the dishes they prepare and their freshly made breads are wonderful. They make amazing coffees and teas as well...I had their jasmine tea recently and it was absolutely to die for, probably going to get that again.
This is my absolute favorite place to come for brunch! The service and food are the absolute best. This place is typically crowded so definitely recommend getting on the waitlist prior to coming. My favorite thing to eat is the florentine eggs Benedict but every option is a safe option! Also, do not forget to grab some bakery items like their croissants.
We had a lovely dinner and everything was incredible. I didn’t know what to expect since their brunch receives much more word of mouth, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bread with the brie and honey butter was so warm, fluffy, and the butter was creamy and not overly sweet. If you’d like a mouthful of fall, the butternut squash arancini is exactly that and is delicious. The black sea bass with celery sauce was a perfect light bite, and very fresh. For entrees, we ordered the smash burger, farro risotto with duck and apricot, and the lamb with polenta. My favorite was the duck, which was tender and full of flavor. To me, the dish really brought out the savory flavor of the duck, so a surprise sweet pop with the apricot was the perfect compliment. We did order dessert where we tried the earl gray sponge cake and the bread pudding. The sponge cake was a little too sweet for my taste, but anyone look for an extra sweet treat would love it. Now… the bread pudding. It was warm, dense, and each bite brought a comforting feeling you normally only get from your grandma’s cooking. It was delicious. I’m looking forward to brunch on our next visit! :)
Amazing experience from the time we arrived. We were lucky and had no wait, excellent service and fantastic food and drinks! The latte was one of the best I’ve had, well balanced and delicious. The Bloody Mary was also very nice and not over the top with add ons! Food was fantastic, we all enjoyed it. Services was top notch, our waiter was attentive and helpful but not overbearing. The staff as a whole was well trained and friendly. Fantastic experience and we can’t wait to come back.
The food is phenomenal!!! Anything you order is Soo delicious. Steven is a wonderful server.❤️❤️❤️
This is the best restaurant in the area that I’ve been to so far. I thought the service was good, the owner seemed nice and seemed like he legitimately cared. The quality of the food here should be the standard for restaurants in the area. A 4.5 is a more accurate rating for me, but that’s compared to a 5 star being way more expensive Michelin starred meals for me. The portions for the dishes were a bit big for my personal preference, but I think the portions are pretty standard for the area.
This place is always a must. The service was amazing, did not feel rushed, but well taken care of. The space is nice, it can be right in some areas, but overall really comfortable. All the food we had was amazing. My only thing is the eggs benedict is just good, but everything else was knock your socks off amazing.
What a GREAT restaurant! Was recommended by our Airbnb host and so glad we took the advice! Food was absolutely superb and nice casual atmosphere. Very small so would recommend reservations unless you're going early before the normal dinner rush.
We had an excellent dinner experience at blue door. The scallops and pork schnitzel were highlights for us. The bananas foster and chocolate soufflé were also delicious! Our waitress was very attentive, professional and friendly. Highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit!
This place is always amazing. Fresh ingredients. The food is like art here. Owner is friendly and speaks with people. Very approachable. You have to get the bacon sampler. I have not been in since the remodel. But with the weather improving I will be out on that patio soon. A few years later... An update, still the best place in town. Hands down. You can taste the love and high standards. The ingredients are fresh and it's all cook to order. They had a Creole Shrimp and Grits on a VD menu. They should add it to their everyday menu. Soooo good! The bakery has some gorgeous and just as yummy pastry. The croissant is huge, flakey and got to be one of the best that I have had. Everything else that I have ever had from the bakery is perfect. The mocha is to die for. My wife and I do not eat here every week but we certainly do go to get the mocha every Sunday at the window. They have spoiled our dog with bacon. I think that she knows when Sunday is now because she is ready to go before we are. Keep up that great work. See you soon.
Very good and unique breakfast and brunch food options. Pastries are very good and very large, about $5-6 each. Breakfast burrito not as good as other items, it's a new item itself
If I could give the Blue Door more than 5 stars I would. This place is hard to put into words and always an amazing experience. Its a kind of quaint, its very cozy,, a little contemporary, a little bit of everything. Dining in or taking baked goods and coffee to go, the quality is always gourmet quality. The staff is beyond phenomenal and it has little turnover so its usually the same amazing servers. If you've been here, you already love it. If you haven't been here then visit once and you will understand why it is such a standout. You wont find a brunch this good around anywhere.
Hands down, our favorite restaurant so far! As newcomers to the area from Florida, we've been on a mission to find great local eateries—and The Blue Door absolutely blew us away! It came highly recommended for its bakery and brunch menu, but when we discovered they offered dinner as well, we couldn’t resist making a reservation. From the moment we walked in, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The dining area was intimate yet comfortable, with a contemporary décor that felt both stylish and inviting. We loved that we could enjoy our conversation without having to raise our voices or strain to hear each other. The atmosphere was relaxed, with a mature and upbeat clientele that added to the charm. Our waitress (wish we could remember her name!) was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the evening. She made us feel right at home. Now, let’s talk about the food! We started with the Pork Belly appetizer, and wow—what a treat! The texture was spot on, with a perfectly crispy, flavorful exterior that gave way to a tender, melt-in-your-mouth interior. It was the perfect way to kick off the meal. For mains, my wife opted for the Smash Burger, which was grilled to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and downright delicious. I went for the Fish and Chips, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. The fish was expertly breaded and fried, with a crispy golden crust and tender, flaky fish inside. The fries were just as impressive, bursting with flavor even without the four sauces that came on the side (though they were great too!). This was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences we’ve had since moving here. We’re already counting down the days until we can try their brunch menu—it’s safe to say we’re hooked! Thank you, Blue Door, for setting the bar so high. We can’t wait to come back!
Second-time visitor this morning for breakfast with a friend. Excellent service and great tasting food! Arrived nearly upon opening, so we did not have to wait long to be seated. Can get very busy, so prepare your time accordingly! This appears to be a popular place in the Cuyahoga Falls area. Will recommend for anyone in the area looking for a great place for food and atmosphere!
We had a wonderful experience this past weekend at Blue Door’s special Oktoberfest event featuring a seven course meal paired with wines from different regions of Germany. Each course was delicious with such generous portions that I had to eat my dessert the next day for breakfast (which was also a treat!) Not only was there a beautiful presentation of food, but also an informative description of each dish and wine that was selected for the course. It is evident that each and every person at Blue Door is passionate about delivering the best experience to their customers. Thank you for a memorable dinner!!
Second Visit: Service was wonderful as usual, the staff is so friendly. Our temp on our food was a little cold, but not so bad that we needed to send it back. The food was very tasty and so were the drinks. We'll we back again. First Visit: Had breakfast here on Sunday morning, there was a bit of a wait but it was easy to get on the list and easy to tell when our table was ready. Kyle was our server and he was very friendly, knowledgeable and had great things to say about the menu. The menu was very diverse and was a breath of fresh air over the normal breakfast fare. We ordered a variety of items, the service was pretty slow so we waited a bit for our food, but they were very busy, so it was to be expected and everyone was very happy with their order. Everything was well seasoned, well proportioned and very tasty.
We waited about 45 minutes on the wait list for a table. Seats at the counter are first come first served. Tables take much longer. The menu was interesting - upscale flavor combos. I ordered a salad as a 4 egg omelet felt a bit too much! Everything was generously portioned. Service was pleasant.
This place is waitlist only. So you have to reserve your spot and get there to check in. Even after checking in, it was around 30-45 min wait. We did go on a Sunday afternoon around 11:45. Place is pretty small. More than likely after you check in, you’ll wait out front. Patio is nice. Just wish they had a fan blowing to keep the bugs (Bees and flies) from landing. Overall a cool place to go but super busy and crowded. The staff was super nice! The food did take a big long to serve since it was busy. Also they were already out of some of the croissant items. Pricey but good. Some items on the menu could be better explained. Like I had no idea the sausage was going to be like crumbs mixed with olives and capers inside of a croissant? I did love my strawberry banana crepe though. Overall a good choice for brunch!
Great food. Cool atmosphere. Took 1 hr to get our breakfast food. So kitchen was backed up day we went. You might have a better experience but I’ll tell you the food is worth it!
Post-meal update: While the whole wait time and indications by the hostess that the wait would be 20 minutes was terrible, I waited and was seated at a table. Overall the experience was not bad. The service from the wait staff was good and quick and the kitchen staff was fast as well. I had ordered the bacon appetizer and it came out on a great looking butcher block wood tablet. I ordered the Steak and eggs as en entree and the steak was medium rare like I wanted with good temperature. I'm not a fan of the potato pancake but it does bring a good flavor to the dish. Overall, pretty good. ---- I'm sure this would be a great restaurant to enjoy based on all the other ratings, but after driving 20 minutes to get there and two hours of waiting, that was not the case. I still have not been seated at the time of this review. It was interesting standing there at the one hour mark as a party of four entered. I watched as the hostess nonchalantly told these people it would be 20 minutes despite my waiting an hour. Alongside me was a party of four, who had also been waiting an hour. The other party of four told the new party of four it would be at least an hour wait. The wait staff told me twice that the wait time was 20 minutes. It would have been nice to know in advance that it wasn't worth sitting in my car. Also, they don't do reservations. I don't think I'll give this restaurant another try.
I had the croissant sausage and gravy sandwich with an egg. It was just ok! Nothing to brag about. The sausage was really good tho.. Just a little too chunky for my liking. I would recommend!
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO! This restaurant is good only problem i had was that our breakfast was 100$ for 2 people. PRICE IS VERY HIGH. It was 16$ for 2 hot chocolates and about 20$ and above per plate. Unfortunately we were thinking that we were gonna spend about max of 60$ but my mistake. The server was kind and asked if we would like a warm cup of coffee, hot chocolate or mimosas. My fiance and I asked for a hot chocolate ( we should have asked the price , this was my bad we were thinking 6$ max for a hot chocolate ) . The food is made from scratch and made with high quality materials ( which is awesome) but the 23$ pancakes were burnt and flavorless. The chicken potpie croissant wasn't much to brag about. When we got our check we saw it came out to about 80$ for 2 meals and 2 hot chocolates plus the server got a 17$ tip (20% tip). Personally I disliked how much the price was but it was quality over quantity which is rare to find these days. BEWARE PRICE ADDS UP QUICK!
The restaurant did everything right (I reserved online & they had our reservation ready, staff was friendly and eager to serve), it just wasn't what we expected. Prices were higher (night before Valentine's day, about $55 a person) and the dining area was loud. With no private booths, the tables close together, and music playing, it was just overstimulating for us. We left before we ordered.
Sadly, not kid friendly. There was a time I gave this place 5 stars, but now I cannot even come here with my kids. No kids menu and the only waffle batter they can make has jalapeños in it. What breakfast place can’t whip up a simple waffle or pancake for a kid? Kids ate a $5 cup of fruit. 5 star breakfast joint for adults only. 1 star as a family friendly establishment.
So in 2025 this is what we doin. Me and my brother stroll into the place, decided to sit at the bar and we ordered The same thing croissant breakfast sandwich. I read the ingredients. What I wanted was 20 dollars. But that's to much to spend on breakfast for one. 15 dollars on 3 eggs that is the culinary equivalent to a beige wall in a waiting room.(Thank you meta a.i.) On the flakiest croissant I've ever tasted. Like putting trash on a picaso. I got the breakfast potatoes with this travesty. Was it better you asked... No not even close enough to touch yourself. I would have better spent 5 dollars on some gas station JoJo's (15 JoJo's.... I know right) ridiculous prices for sub par food on great baked goods. Glad I don't live in Akron to see this gastronomic oddessy
