The restaurant was spotless. Very clean, Bright and employees are very pleasant.
Friendly customer service at the drive-thru... at least in the evening hours. Well kept on the outside in spite of the poor exterior design located in a crowded shopping center. Original recipe changed a bit but still holds up to be an appetizing meal.
They have boba!!!! I just ordered the caramel black tea boba yesterday. I'm going again today to get the lychee one! I love boba. I think this will be my go to boba spot. We will see. Lol

Remodeled and looks very clean now. Menu is changed to bowls only. Love the brown rice option without an extra charge.

Good parking but kind of dark at night. Not much lights in the parking area. The restaurant is clean with a few tables not wiped down and alittle food on the ground but this is minor issues. The girl taking the order was quick and friendly and my transaction was a good experience. I ordered the beef large bowl and the new habanero large bowl. The food was great. I remember them giving me a lot more beef before. Maybe they changed up the portions abit. The taste was the same and I've been a fan of this food since they first came put awhile back in OC area. Definitely recommend people to eat here or this chain.

Ordered online and when I got there it was not ready yet and that worked out for me to make a minor change. I went on 1/24/26 at around 12:45 pm and the man working the front register was doing an incredible job. Allot of people complaining and he was very customer service oriented and was nice and kind to people being cross. He deserves a raise and promotion. He handled my order of 3 each double combo orders so 6 meals in total with 4 drinks. The kitchen was a bit challenged to keep up with all the internet and in store orders. Lunch is a great time for owners to jump in and show the team leadership by doing. Maybe the owner was there but I could not see them. Looks like it had a new remodel or facelift.
The staff are great. Despite an error on the online order system that delayed the order. Once they got it, it was ready in no time. The two females at the register were very nice.
I was told I could place my order online and they will let me pay at the counter, not missing out on any of the rewards points, still obtaining the app discount, and paying partly cash and partly debit. It was done so and Leann (I believe that is the correct spelling of her name) helped make it happen. I was playing Yu Yu Hakusho and was not told to turn it off, as I dined. The place has ample space and seating and feels lovely. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the mop and bucket were left out and the minor spill was not tended to for the entirety of my experience, which was an approximate two (2) whole hours, creating an unsightly view and placing others at risk of injury. I did mention this to Leann on an opportunity as she passed over it but she, as well as others, simply decided to skip it over and ignore it as they constantly rushed around it to exit and deliver to customers' vehicles outside.

Clean, friendly, and fast. I didn't know they had a drive thru. I was just in the area so I walked in and got fat prompt service from a friendly person behind the counter.

Food was great but they were super busy i asked for extra sause in my bowl they gave me a lil container halp full when i asked for another because i purchased 2 bowls not 1 the girl was so busy after asking what i needed she just turned around and ignored me and i think she was the Manager.
The worst thing here is the wait in the drive through window. They have a different selection from what I remember. The price is reasonable for the amount you get. I still feel like they add more onions than beef in their beef bowl, but that's just me.
Really like their food BUT, ordered ordered 2 sides of the egg rolls (total of 6) & requested an extra sauce as there were three of us & was told no unless you want to pay for the small sauce. It wasn't cheap so said no
I was really surprised today. I stopped for a couple of combo bowls because I had a coupon. I hadn't been to a Yoshinoya in a few years and saw several new menu choices. I ordered two bowls with the new bbq beef and habanero chicken. I upgraded to "almost fried rice". Everything was great! Really tasty... I will be back...

The last time I purchased a meal from this place, the vegetables had enough salt to kill a horse! It was the worst.
The customer service is lacking. And the bowl I got today was kind of sad. Always order extra sauce on the side. Never added to the bowl. They can never remember to put it in the bowl.
Unbelievable the food was abode average. Prices are new inflation prices, in additional the size ( in my case) of the container is shorter than before of pandemic and finally the person who take my order was not exactly friendly.
I do not like giving bad reviews. I am usually out with in 5 to 10. Minutes. It took close to 30 minutes through the driveway. Customer service still exceptional! Short Staffed maybe? It happens.
This Yoshinoya usually has a prolonged wait time for reasons unknown. Whatever they may be I hope that they will get to the bottom of it and fix the issue. Everytime I TRY to order here I end up waiting upwards of 25 to 35 minutes for a simple bowl. Mind you a small Chicken bowl, it's really quite astounding for a fast food restaurant.
Friendly but literally took half an hour at the window after we ordered our food. Must've been new and the manager just must've just ditched them cause otherwise l can't make sense of it. AVOID IT.

Nice re-opening, the place is nice and clean with a heavily Japanese theme decor. The day I went, the music pumping from the above speakers was a bit too loud. If you want to make your meal a combo, you are made to by some sides, if you don't want the side a small soda runs close to $3 dollars a bit expensive I think, their prices on a regular bowl also went up.
A rated restaurant. the teriyaki chicken⭐⭐⭐⭐ the steak⭐⭐ eggrolls⭐⭐⭐⭐ boneless wings⭐ the steak was 20% fat not really seasoning. Big disappointment on a boneless wings. It's best to get the regular bone wings. those are the good ones. One more thing soy sauce is $0.30 extra.😫 plenty of parking but not really roomy for SUVs. this Yoshinoya has a drive-thru. If you're gonna for a small meal it's faster to go to drive through.
Most of the times food is good. However, they usually take very, very, very long!!! Worst part is when u arrive home & you are missing an item/s!!! I went twice this week & both times I was missing items!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The new fish & chips is literally trash. The chips were burn, black and hard. The fish raw and smelly, my stomach got upset just with the smell. The regular bows are ok, but the fish & chips worse experience!
I had a large combination, well most of it was rise I only had 3 pieces of chicken which was very dry, not much teriyaki sauce and the beef had more onion than beef, overall it was very dry.
Take too much time for two bowls and a regular combo, on a sunday where many people dont Cook at home, they where only 3 employees running back and forth good job, but it will be better if put more employees to help.
We arrive at 6:30 pm on the 1-24-2024 we noticed the front girl taking the order look very tired of doing nothing,,,,she had a attitude and she mention to us,that she was tired and wey we're that last order that she was taking,,,,we justo walk away.....
They only had one worker for Drive thru and counter and it took 15 minutes to order my food plus another 15 to get my oder that's to slow and they have an attitude when you tell them if they have only one worker.
The food is good but sometimes the drive-thru does not move, and it says they close at 11:30 p.m. I showed up around 10:30pm and they were closed
I gave this place 2 stars because i liked the clam chowder soup, the fish was horrible, from the freezer to the fryer, plus they had the most inappropriate music there is to have dinner with your family, thug music. Wont come back. Peace out 👍
The place is clean and nice remodel but the food isn't the same. They changed the ingredients so the magic is gone. They went to healthy so the favor is plain or nothing at all.
Tis place get busy. The staff get overwhelmed with orders. We got our order 20 min after. I had to show them the receipt. They lost our orders. Not the first time. We always get wrong dish or they put more ingredients that we ask. Not to include in b out dish like green onion ... The food was good I ordered teriyaki chicken. But my favorite are the chicken wings and fried spring roll so yummy .
Been coming here for years and I feel the service is not great but the food was OK. But I am now questioning their grade of food. I ate the Tilapia plate on Monday which was the last thing I ate and woke up the next day with nausea and horrible stomach pain. I thought it was a virus and I continued to get worse with fever and turns out I got a stomach infection that was caused by bad food. :/ I've heard of others friends or family that had gotten sick from this location but I gave them the benefit of the doubt since we've been customers for years. I don't plan on returning after this scare.
Haven't been to Yoshinoya in years but I have to say I was very disappointed. The service was good but the place was messy and dirty. Me and a friend choose to sit at the small tables because all the booths that were not being used had trash and food from the previous people who used the tables. The floors were full of trash and even the bathroom was dirty. I think the food was ok but I honestly couldn't enjoy it just looking around how dirty everything was.
To start, employees need better training. The cashier didn't know how to take the orders. The people cooking were just talking to each other. The portions of food are less compared to other yoshinoyas. There were only 3 customers and it took about 30 minutes to get my food.
It's pretty sad I drove all the way to Downey, hoping to have a fresh meal, but it was the worst. I got a combo bowl, the chicken was hard as if it was old, and the rice was uncooked, too hard, the beef as well, hard. It wasn't tasty at all, extremely disappointed! I should have driven to Maywood, which is closer. This past holiday weekend.
this my second time coming here since there grand opening but the first time it’s was last week i order clam chowder and it smelled weird and very watery not what i expected. Then today i got gyoza and they were burnt and very hard that i didn’t enjoy at all it upset me they also gave me my order wrong i said no veggies and they gave me a lot of veggies with hardly chicken.
They have 1 person working drive thru and front counter so now we’re stuck waiting in line for 15 minutes, I guess the manager likes to keep a skeleton crew so he can save company money.

I honestly do not know where to start off with this particular Yoshinoya Location. First of all, I am going to start off with one of the cashiers "PATRICIA" To better describe her, she is tall, heavy weight(Chubby), and ALWAYS bitter. Just this morning 10/08/2020 at approximately 10:23AM i went to this yoshinoya location to purchase a combo bowl and i repeatedly told the cashier thru the speaker on the drive thru MULTIPLE TIMES "NO VEGETABLES" and YES sesame seeds! well guess what? PATRICIA gave me VEGETABLES and NO seeds. also, they do not serve what is supposed to be the servings. I, Myself worked at a yoshinoya so I know how things should work. This is unacceptable and she seems to always be angry. this is a customer service job, if you do not like your job or you cannot perform your work duties the correct way, please save yourself some time and resign. I paid full price for something I did not order or she always gets my order wrong. Everytime I go to this location and PATRICIA takes my order, Something is ALWAYS missing! It never fails. Last time she even forgot to give me my drink! How can you forget that?? It is not rocket science. She needs to be disciplined by her employer ASAP because I am very disappointed. I normally do not write negative reviews but I could't skip this one. ONE star because of PATRICIA. Any other employee that takes my order always gets it right but PATRICIA, NEVER DOES.. She also never says " thank you " or "Have a nice day" what a shame yoshinoya!
Went in today (10/15/19) to get something to eat before work. I order a bowl with four pieces of the boneless wings and they were RAW!!!! Yes RAW! 😡🤯 Never going to any yoshinoya again!

Don't accept amex, wait time is always extremely long in the drive thru. Portion for large bowels is just more rice, the meat portion is there same as regular bowls.

Wow never come to this yoshinoya I had a coupon that was for 2 combo bowls and a family pack Neil but I only wanted to combo bowls so I told her is there any way that you guys can make an exception she said no unfortunately we can after waiting in the drive-through for about 15 minutes The employee was still not able to make an exception and I have to say this is badd customer service and just the over all badd response and wait time I can't believe this this place deserves 02 no stars I would recommend going to another Yoshi neuer or avoiding Yoshi neuer in total
I’d rate it zero if I could. Horrible customer service, the cashier was passive aggressive to my mom, the food took forever to come out and not to mention they got our order wrong. We ordered orange chicken and they gave us beef with chicken when we never eat beef from there and they charged us money for extra teriyaki sauce. I suggest you never come here.
Again on 8-11-24 Ordered half udon snd they just gave me rice.. Look people , you guys need to start checking things , You gladly take my money and then ROB me by not putting the items in the order. I'm callng corporate next time. Third strike : Ordered Gyoza and they never put it in the bag. They always forget to add the veggies too.. Come on guys check !!! This Yoshinoya location is very inconsistent with what they offer . On multiple occasions they have run out of noodles / boba / sweet and sour sauce for the egg rolls and or forget to make my order as requested ( Regular chicken instead of habanero , just rice when i asked for half and half Noodles and paid the dollar extra) It's not a one off thing , it's every other visit. The food itself is great but getting the wrong order isn't.
On Saturday 13th at approx. 7pm. I when to purchase a five combo dinners. As I started my order, I noticed the employee was in a bad mode with a bad attitude. You should not only remodel the restaurant but you should change your employees or train them. If you have a personal problem at home, you should leave the problem at home, do not bring them to the place of work.

Store 7910 Florence Downey, CA 90240 store#1182 Bad experience, in the past in recent weeks store honored my coupons, even an expired one in which i was told they accepted expired coupons. Today, July 16, 2022 I walked into the store not realizing I had an expired coupon when ordering 2 combos. My coupon was denied and after questioning why, you told me before you accept them. The clerk said no longer and called Shara, shift leader. Shara said we ate sorry and no longer accepting them in front of customers, in which I was embarrased because customers were aware of issue. Not only was I embarrased, but when I got home I realized that combos were underserved, but was only given 1 napkin, 1 soy sauce, 1chili sauce, and 1 crushed paper packet per large combo bowl and no receipt in hand or in the bag. Called store manager and her response was, I can issue you another receipt if you come in. She also said that i was supposed to get 2 napkins per bowl, and 2 condiments of each type of condiment per bowl. Managers only solution was for me to walk into store to be reissued another receipt, seems shady practice. I felt they got even for getting manager involved. Her solution was to go back to store ,so she can reissue me a new receipt. The store is out of my way to return for reissued receipt, gas is expensive, and felt embarrased while at store. They should of gotten it right the first time, bad service.
The service here is so slow! I’ve waited 15-25 mins for 2 beef bowls (rice, beef, no veggies) and the place isn’t even packed and I’m always the 2nd or 3rd car in line. It’s ridiculous that it takes that long to cook thin beef. During my last trip I was the second car in line (one car at the window) and I was asked to wait for 10 mins before they would even take my order. Management has failed! You could honestly get out wait in line at chipotle and still get your food faster than this place.
Totally Unacceptable!! How can a restaurant that promotes chicken have none available. Usually employees do that at night so they can just stand around and do nothing. Yoshinoya always disappoints! Specially with not being able to attend a customers needs.
This was probably the worst tasting, looking food I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing. The smell of the food makes me want to puke. The vegetables are so bad you'd swear that they were made of plastic. I even got lucky and got a piece of hair in the "beef". And dont get me started on the layer of bleached garbage that gets thrown under every order.
Honestly the customer service is the worst! They are always so rude I have come here 3 times and very time it's the same thing. They have charged me for extras and not included them in my order. They are so slow in drive through even if there is no one is inside. Honestly save your money there are better ones with better sensing to the food as well as service.
Honestly this will be the last time I come to this Yoshinoya in Downey this is the second time where they have me wait outside the parking lot for 1 hour and they still always get my order wrong and give my food to someone else .. I tell them to don’t add vegetables and they add them to every plate … then the cashier has the nerve to tell the cook iam complaining when I’m literally just tryna get what I payed for .. to top it off they add a small portion on a “Large bowl” pls manager get restaurant on check because people don’t wanna wait hours for their food ..
Horrible service! 5 people in drive through, 13 yrs old son goes inside restaurant, they don't take his order because there were cars in the drive through? Lady at counter walks away when I question her about it, then manager says "I didn't even take 5 orders yet"... liar! Check your cams! I would give this place ZERO STARS if I could.
Came 40 mins before closing. Only had chicken for 1 of my 2 bowls I wanted. Then after that disappointment the cashier ask me to pull back behind the orange poll because the associate was new and was making my order! This seems like a weird request to ask a customer. Very weird request to ask a customer. Cashier seemed very panicked. I feel any restaurant should have food until advertised hours if not that’s bad for the franchise you are representing. they have outsourced the order taking to some remote person or an AI program to save money. It's terrible. I recommend driving straight to the window like I did or not going there anymore until they get rid of that silly thing.
I came today and was serviced by a older woman in drive , the receipt said Ioana, first I was very rushed in drive thru and she was very rude ; even though I seen I was the only car at the time then pulled up to the window and was rushed as well . After I was rushed I got home with my family to eat and I had not received my Tokyo Fried Chicken that she suggested and forgot to put in my bag . Maybe just work on slowing down and giving accurate , polite service .
I wish I could rate them ZERO stars. I also wish I would've read these reviews before trying and FAILING TWICE to eat here. Last Saturday, I brought my family here to try to eat after Disneyland. We got here over an hour before Google said it closed, and over 2 hours before the closing time that's stated on the door. I get to the door and it's locked. There's a girl in there sweeping, and she looks right at me but ignores me. So I knock and she rolls her eyes and yells that they're closed. I notice 3 cars in the drive-thru, so I get back in the car and get in the line. After the 1st car pulls forward, the next 2 stop at the speaker, then immediately start to drive off. When we get to the speaker, the girl bluntly said "We don't have any food left". That's it! No apologies, not even an apologetic tone. The exact same thing happened at this location back in October of this year, except they told us rudely that they were out of food as we reached the door, which was again locked well before closing time. We live in Vegas but I'm from Southern California, and I had fond memories of Yoshinoya, which I wanted to share with my son and fiancé, who both have never had them. But after dealing with these employees attitudes (pretty sure it's the same girls, and I say girls because they didn't behave like adults that have paying jobs would) I will never try again, not even at a different location, because these 2 bad experiences just turned my family off from even wanting to try Yoshinoya at all.
Definitely fake advertisement picture for the amount of food you will get,this is the real plate off food you will receive,5 pieces of chicken, 99% cabbage, 1 piece of broccoli, definitely not recommend to anyone this location, if ur looking for the real amount of food you pay for, this is not the right one
Do not recommend this place. Every time I come here it’s something man! Last weekend I went to get yoshinoya for dinner. I told the cashier repeatedly that I wanted the spicy chicken. I even told her right before she charged me. When I get home, she gave me teriyaki chicken. I was so annoyed too because I repeated myself 3 times that I wanted the spicy chicken.
Did a drive through order. Got a beef kids meal, when I opened the kids meal it was 3-4 pieces of cabbage, one small broccoli a bunch of "dry" not steamed rice! The worse part is that it was a very small portion of extremely dry beef, no onions at all just ridiculous dry beef. You need to tell whoever is cooking to do their job correctly. Don't just throw food in the container just because it's a kids meal. This location was closed for a long time and I thought they had upgraded their cooking but I am extremely disappointed ☹️. I can't believe I just waisted my time and money.... Service was good 👍🏽 Cooking below 👇 poor.
I’ve gone here like five times and had them mess up my order and went home and had items that I paid for that were missing. so in my opinion, I had the worst experience ever and regret ever going to this Yoshinoya. worst customer service! only two of the workers including the manager, was cool with me, and another worker was cool. the rest of the employees were not very helpful or friendly and always mess up the orders and are rude to me when I go back asking for items that I paid for. I feel that I should be compensated for this. I continue to eat there because the food is so good! but the service from the employees is horrible!! I mean the last 5 orders in a row from them were missing food. The worst one of those orders was actually an online order I was picking up to deliver for my job with Uber eats delivery. I waited inside the restaurant while they took about 40 minutes getting it ready and watched the manager go back and forth with another employee who kept mixing items up and forgetting things. I was shocked at how bad the employee kept making mistakes and was so glad to finally get out of there with the right items. My customer was worried about the wait but I handled it and they ended up being cool. It’s a constant turn-over of new people working there every time I go for food. No wonder things are never right, they don’t last long enough for proper training!!
Would give this place 0 stars if I could they are always rude here and for what? Since I walked in the stuff fully ignored us for at least 5 minutes while my brother with special needs was pacing because they took so long to address us. There was only one customer in restaurant who was waiting they were not extremely busy, and the staff were literally watching us. ignoring us and conversing amongst each other. Even as we went as far as to say excuse me to get their attention so many times, they just ignored us! Literally looked dead at us and ignored us, said nothing at all. They are always rude in the drive through and never give good customer service every time I come here but this is just ridiculous. dont waste your money here. Looks nice on the outside but this place is the worst in the plaza. I hope they change this restaurant to something else soon.
I’ve tried to order food from here from their app three times throughout this year. Every time I am here, they always let me wait for more than 10 min after their promised ready time. It’s not even on the busy hours. So if you want to order here, just don’t do app orders. Because when I was there waiting, 4-5 customer before me already got their food and left. I’ve remind the staff three times yet this still happen. I will not pay my visit again.
