This has been our favourite Indian restaurant for many years and we love it. Always amazing food, that's beautifully presented. Attentive service too.
The food is excellent, service is very attentive and atmosphere is relaxed. Tbh am surprised that it’s not packed! Came with my mother in law, who’s Indian- the ultimate test and passed with flying colours. Would definitely recommend!
Absolutely amazing food and the stunning restaurant
Visited without booking at lunchtime. Chef extremely accommodating and helpful as one of our party of 4 is both vegetarian and gluten free. So three of us ordered from the menu and all starters, mains and additional sides were excellent. Chef cooked the vegetarian and gluten free starter and main course from scratch, off menu with full consultation. He could not have been more helpful and the meals were again excellent. We could have eaten anywhere (it was a surprise visit from family who had driven for 4 hours) but I am so glad we chose Amani. I had eaten here three times previously, as had my partner, with excellent food and service. Reviews are useful, but the best advice I can give is to go eat there yourself. The restaurant experience is often far far better than our current delivery based obsession. My partner is a trained chef (retired) and if he is happy with his food then all is good with the world. Thank you Amani for a wonderful birthday 🙏🏻
Lunch for five adults was relaxed, unhurried, & tasty across five different dishes of very high standard. Service was excellent: nothing was too much trouble. This restaurant is highly recommended.
Really enjoyed my meal here a couple of weeks back, the restaurant has been refurbished to a very high standard and the food is the same, every dish I had was absolutely delicious. I thought it all looked a little pricey but soon realised why when the food came to the table, it was all presented very well and everything done properly. The staff took great care of our group and we can't wait to visit again and again. Good job amani 5***
This is a lovely Indian restaurant. We have ordered here via just eat and also been into the restaurant. The service and staff are absolutely fantastic and the food is delicious. The restaurant is clean and it’s a very welcoming atmosphere. Definitely give this place a try.
I was introduced to this restaurant by friends last night. What a revelation! The menu is very clearly set out with stars to denote the heat of the dish, very useful for me as I struggle with dishes that are overly hot and spicy and as a vegetarian it was great to see a large selection of vegetable/meat free options. The service was good, possibly a bit slow but that gave us time to chat. The food itself was lovely and so different from anywhere else I have been. I would thoroughly recommend the vegetable platter starter to share and also the mixed Indian ice creams to finish. Both are just the right size and not overly heavy. The chef came out and spoke to us on a number of occasions to make sure we were happy and also explained a couple of dishes which gave a personal touch to the experience. I won't hesitate in recommending this restaurant to friends and colleagues!
High quality food in a really nice setting. Place looks like it has recently been fully renovated and the smaller details have been considered. From the food, presentation and even the plates have been thought of to a detailed level. Waiters and owner are nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend
Superb Indian restaurant I’ve been using for takeaway for years. The Sunday buffet is incredible value too. Top place, much better than the neighbours a few doors down
Friendly helpful staff, even the 'trainee' was attentive. The Waiters answered our questions with a good knowledge. The food was superb, hot and very well presented. The chef Aazi visited the tables to make sure all was well, a nice policy. He listened to my normal Indian menu choices and recommended the Punjabi style chicken. Delicious. I've ticked 'Loud but you can still talk' below, although I think we were a good part of the noise! Thankyou. We will return.
I eat here all the time , I've never had a bad meal. The chefs is passionate about his menu and it shows in the flavour and cooking. I will always come back as the service is the very best . Thank you foe another beautiful dinner .
This was me second time at Amani. The food, as expected was incredible. I ordered the sirloin steak with a curry sauce and pilao rice. The steak was cooked to perfection. The fat was incredibly juicy and the sauce had just the right amount of spice to get your taste buds tingling but not too spicy so it overwhelms your mouth. Some may get the impression that the portion are small but I can assure you, it is spot on. I would also recommend a side of garlic nan to accompany your dish. As for dessert, I would highly recommend the sambuca flamed gulab jamun and vanilla ice cream. It's light yet packed with sweet and rich flavour.
Turned up for the Sunday buffet. Staff is very welcoming and sat us down right away. I felt that the waiter was a bit too eager to ask for drinks as we only had the drinks menu for about 2 minutes. The service was great overall. The food was amazing and not overly spicy. There were many choices of different foods. We could pick from potatoes, rice, beef, and chicken. The place was renovated recently, the aesthetic and colours go together well. It feels very romantic and warm. The light fixtures were dim and had interesting patterns.
Great food, lovely restaurant! Would recommend
The service from the Manager and staff was excellent! I have a severe nut allergy and the manager put me at such ease! The food was delicious and very tasty. Great interior decor too!
Absolute gem of a restaurant. This is not just old fashioned Indian food catering to western palettes. I've tried pretty much every dish on the menu at some point. The chef is talented and the staff were super polite but not over the top. The best Indian restaurant in Surrey.
Had another lovely evening at Amani, a hidden gem on the outskirts of Epsom, not far from the Derby. The food was, as always, consistently tasteful and delicious. Their Goan fish curry is a true standout—definitely spicy and absolutely delicious. The Indian platter, a lovely dessert, was perfect for sharing if you're feeling full. The staff was simply lovely. They were very welcoming and gave us their full attention. A special shoutout to the chef, who came to our table and made us feel even more at home. Amani is a must-visit for anyone looking for very good Indian cuisine. Kudos to the team for putting so much heart into this nice, welcoming, and pretty restaurant. Well done, Amani! #EpsomEats #GoanCurry #IndianCuisine #AmaniRestaurant
Had an amazing dinner here. The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and hospitable. Food was great. Will definitely be coming back here again.
Amazing Mothers Day everyone loved the food and the staff were so nice 👍
Nice restaurant serving great dishes. The staff are very good and the chef is happy to cater to different requirements including adapting the food for children, which is one of the main reasons we like going there. Would recommend!
Having lived in Epsom for a very long time, I’ve tried almost every curryhouse in town. Since the change of management at Everest Spice made me start looking for a new go to place, I tried Amani a few times and can safely say this is currently the best you can get in town. Would recommend! Food quality is exceptionally good and flavourful whether you eat in or takeaway.
One of the best Indian food in the area. The takeaway/online menu has green chilli curry which is a must try, very unique taste with a joy to spectrum of flavours on the palette. Our saviour during the lockdown with home delivery promptly made. A good local business to support.
Delicious food, and service has been good even with children to cater for. Price is also reasonable considering the quality and quantity. The decor is simple and understated and very comfortable. Much prefer the food here compared to. Le Raj next door, have come back numerous times!
Went for dinner last Friday and was taken back by the quality of food Firstly the use of only the freshest produce really stands out and it doesn’t go unnoticed as it gives every dish such flavour and texture And highlights the chefs ability and skill of each and every individual spice Secondly what really impressed me was the individuality of each dish for it’s simple and clever yet effective cooking take you on a culinary journey from start to finish like nothing the average person would have experience when used to traditional uk curry’s houses it is a real gem not one to be missed Final thoughts The best food Iv eaten in this cuisine and will be very hard to beat ! 10/10
Our whole experience here was great. We got take away and when I arrived I got my collection discount. The food was so good I’m still talking about it the day after. Tremendous
Had such a lovely time for my birthday meal here with my folks, food was really tasty, service was excellent, atmosphere was great. Thank you indeed. I'll be back for sure!
Dined at Amani on several occasions and never been disappointed. Food is fantastic. I rate it much higher than many other local Indian restaurants I've been to. Service impeccable; nothing is too much trouble and the waiters know how to do their job to a high standard. Reasonable cost for high end Indian cuisine and decor is simple but tasteful. Love it!
Sunday buffet lunch was varied and delicious. Staff welcoming and attentive. We have been customers for some years and Amani just gets better!
Not a massive curry fan in UK but this was genuinely very good! Aromatic, tasty good spice and generous portions. Best budgies! Definitely our go to Indian going foreword.
Don't order the samosa(s). Ordered lamb samosas as a takeout, when I got home there was only one, yes one, vegetarian one. £5.25. Pathetic.
I ordered three items for takeaway via Deliveroo. I only live across the road from Drift Bridge. It took about 1hr 30mins for the the food to arrive, and when it did arrive, it was cold. Disappointing. The food was tasty, but let down by the long wait time and the fact it was cold.
Yeah recommend for a local. I don’t think chicken tikka masala is meant to be sweet like a korma but none the less everything else: garlic naan, daal, biryani, mixed grill was good! It would have been nice to receive complimentary appetisers like popadoms , chutneys etc for a £60 order. If I had dined it, surely it would have been a service.
Restaurant is closed in the afternoon, opening times on google are wrong
Lovely food, really good options, but very small portions. Real pity, I had raved about this place and took a friend. I had thought it would be my 'go to' place. Will try again, but worrying trend.
Food was ok but the service wasn’t very good. They cleared our plates whilst others were still eating - the restaurant was very empty but we felt very rushed. They got our mains order wrong and then overcharged us when the bill arrived (by adding an additional main meal). Sadly won’t be returning.
My husband and I ordered from here on a quiet Wednesday evening. I chose the delivery option and was assured it would take no longer than 45 mins. Over an hour later I chased it and was assured it was on its way. It then took a further half hour (we only live 5 mins down the road for context). The food was fairly average however they had forgotten an item. I rang to request this and received a fairly non-committed response, another 40 mins later I chased again and I was told I could get an extra poppadum next time! I was clear that I wanted a refund however this was flat out refused. Overall a very negative experience.
Very disappointed We had food from here in the past , especially due to the lockdowns as a treat . Thought it would be a nice treat not to cook on 14th Feb Very bland , all three dishes taste the same (with different names! ) Also we have booked for the delivery between 6.30-7 arrived at 6 . Husband said you are early , so which the response just a little 🤷🏽♀️. Had his would have been me first impression of this restaurant, I would not order again What has happened? Different chefs ?
Ordered our food at 7:30. An hour later we were told it was out for delivery with 9 other orders. Another 40 minutes we were told it hadn't even been cooked and would be another 30mins if we collected. Customer service was poor, we were lied to and manager put the phone down on us twice. Won't be returning. I would like to put 0 star for all but not an option.
Would give 0 if allowed. Ordered a delivery thru J Eat at 12.30. Quoted a time of 1hr. 1.30 later hubby called to ask where our food was we were told it was on its way. 35 mins later it finally arrived. Hubby mentioned the wait to be told by driver he was the owner and they've no drivers on Sunday. WHY the hell offer it then??? Hubby had ordered king prawn korma. The prawns were still in their shell and when he took them out they were mushy and tasted off so promptly thrown away. He then tucked into his Poppadoms to find a dead spider curled up on one. My chicken shashlik contained a hair or 2 and my rice cold. This shambles left us 60.99 down and only 1 barely edible meal between 3 of us. A very disappointing experience and a mistake we will not be repeating.
My partner came here to order a takeaway on Friday waited hour and half, went in from his van, and they said so sorry sir ticket wasn’t taken to the kitchen they couldn’t even find his ticket, even though he had paid for his meal. Will never ever return, they said can we take your order to the kitchen now, absolutely not, got money back and home without dinner. Absolute crap.
I booked in for a Bollywood night. There was 4 of us, 2 people are meat eaters and 2 people are vegans. When I booked online as suggested by a member of staff when I called, as if they couldn't do it over the phone (all the bookings where hand written on a piece of paper when we got there, oh and the only thing that was noted is that i paid £20 deposit but not the fact that our table required vegan based menu) in the notes section online I specifically said we will require a vegan menu. When we were seated at the table the waiter didn't give us a drinks menu or a set food menu for us to look at. When they served food I questioned about which one was a vegan option, the staff looked very confused they didn't know what I was talking about. Asked to speak to a manager, the waiter didn't even bother getting the manager so I had get up to find someone only to discover that the manager was not available as he was in the kitchen busy, im sure that he was completely unaware that there is a table that required a vegan option menu. A lovely female member of staff came out from the kitchen assuring me that there is vegan based menu, trust me there wasn't. The starter was ok, but to have 2 potato dishes, cauliflower and lentils as a main with £40 ahead and no desert, for a restaurant its pretty appalling. The menu for meat eaters was ok, really not worth £40 ahead. Now we get to the service... poor doesn't even describe it. Chef came across as having an attitude every time he attended the table. It did not feel very welcoming or accommodating towards our needs, and it came across as a bother. After the mains We were not even asked about deserts, I had to get up and ask if there is any deserts to come, 2 of us had a desert, which was ok, too frozen couldn't even use a spoon but for vegan option all we got As a "desert" is coffee black, couldn't even have milk as had no other milks available.£80 for a standard of vegan options we had was absolutely outrageous. Most waiters didn't really understand if you asked them a simple question, all we got is I go and get someone but that someone never came. I never write reviews because opinions do vary, but after this meal I was extremely disappointed with the restaurant atmosphere, attitude and just simply not valuing their customer. There was only one lady that worked there behind the bar that actually was helpful and pleasant.
Was booked in for table of 4 online for 19.30 but when we turned up they said they had no reservations for us. I showed them my confirmation booking online to which they were not interested at all saying we don’t have any room for you. Could of at least tried to make the effort to accommodate us but they just weren’t interested ended up going round the corner to Indus restaurant & it was perfect so in future i know where we will be going
Home delivery order in March 2023 delivered with missing (important) item. Despite three requests (one in writing) over the following days - no refund from Amani. The food is fine but I’d suggest you give your custom to a restaurant with a more organised delivery service and a different approach to making up for their mistakes.
Ordered a home delivery. Got the meal delivered very quickly but unfortunately the chicken was burnt and rubbery. This is the 2nd time this has happened to us. Not good enough. £25 wasted. They should have offered another meal and taken the other away or returned my money. Disappointed but there are many other restaurants to choose from. Shame. They need to realise customers are hard to get but easy to lose.
Ordered vegetarian food for my in-laws, we got a chicken dish delivered. The poor souls found out only when they accidentally chewed upon a bone! On another occasion the potatoes in the curry had gone bad with an odd taste. If you turn up to collect your takeaway generally you will not be acknowledged for the first 10 mins.Better to avoid.
4 months ago I found this restaurant as it was recommended. The first and 2nd time I ordered food I must say it was the best I have ever tasted in 50 years of eating Indian food at least once a week. The 3 rd and 4 th time they started forgetting parts of the order and the quality of the food and time to deliver it was not great . Last Friday I ordered and it took nearly 1.45 to arrive. The food itself was shockingly bad and a waste of money it went in the garbage. Not sure what is going on but clearly they have a chef problem and a service issue
TAKEAWAY NIGHTMARE. Had a great meal in the restaurant a few weeks ago so thought we would try the delivery! DISASTER!! arrived 40mins early and so we refused it. The gentleman on the phone said that they didn’t know the delivery time (the receipt had the time and was circled in biro). We asked for a re-delivery and gave the food back. We then called 15mins after the expected delivery time to be told “we are RE-HEATING it” Thanks but NO THANKS. Will not be ordering a delivery from them EVER again. SO DISAPPOINTING.
