Great atmosphere! Everything was delicious, especially the armadillo burger and fried pickles. The service was pleasant. Very close to the highway but not right on it. It seemed like there was a good mix of locals and travelers. It is not an in and out kind of place. Save some time to enjoy!

Awesome country cooking!!!!! We stopped here while traveling through Fairfield, TX. This is a small family diner with a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Everything is homemade, cooked to perfection, and delicious! The vegetables in the salad were fresh and flavorful. I had the 7Up pound cake for dessert. It tasted like it was baked with love. Don't miss this!!!!

This is a wonderful place for lunch. The food and service was awesome. We enjoyed the french dip, chicken salad sandwich, chicken fingers, buffalo fries, and the Buffalo joes sandwich. All of the food was great, but my favorites were the Buffalo Joes sandwich and french dip. I loved the pleasant attitude of the staff. If you are in the area and want good food with friendly service, this is the place.

Stopped in while passing through. The place was inviting and comfortable inside. It appeared to only be 2 workers at the time, one was the cook and the other was the host. The host was warm and welcoming and the food was good and pretty big portioned. I’d recommend this for a quick bite and would return if nearby.

The burgers ROCK! I love a really good burger and they certainly make a great one! Brioche buns, thick-cut real bacon, yummy melted cheese, and a huge beef patty. I was full after half of it, but ate the entire thing! Kid had the Mushroom Swiss Burger and loved it. I had the Amadillo Burger without onions. It had jalapeno cream cheese! Sooo good and 4 type of fries! The service was great and the ladies are so nice! You can watch them make your food, if you want. This place is tiny. I will be eating here as I drive between College Station and Dallas to visit my TX A&M student. I found my new favorite Burger!

Something Different is a great small town diner where the staff were really friendly and the food was excellent. I can’t go back there soon enough!! The breakfast options sound fantastic. I got the fish sandwich with fries and a German chocolate cake. The baker makes fresh desserts twice a week. If I lived closer, I’d eat here all the time and would get super fat. Thanks Something Different for a great dinner!!

Cool spot to grab a bite. Update 11/2019 The service is great small little place, menu has its own spin on basic diner foods. The desserts are very good. Its a spot i wish i could stop at more often but not able too due to time and work, but when i do swing by its a good taste experience i don't feel cheated or buyers remorse food taste good and i get full.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Food was pretty basic, with the homemade potato chips and hush puppies being standouts. Atmosphere was casual and relaxed

Always super friendly and welcoming! Food is always hot and fresh. The deserts are fabulous and homemade. Fried catfish and burgers are great choices. Chicken salad sandwich was the special the last time though and was a very nice change of pace. Great little diner!

Cool little diner. Burgers looked good. Salads were huge. I had the crawfish and shrimp etoufee special. Served over crispy cornbread dressing with fried Okra. Hamburger had a great seared with a sesame bun

Based on reviews & our route today — we elected to try out this small, low key, casual cafe/diner. Service was good. Food quality was very good (double cheeseburger with extra pickles) & my wife had the French-dip. Not fancy. Not super clean but the place was practically packed with locals enjoying their entrees. Back home we used to say a place like this was “a greasy spoon — hole in the wall” but great food — I think that’s appropriate here as well.

Skip it. This place has been on my list for a while. I should have known when the parking lot was empty that the 4+ star review may be wrong. I love a diner. Love diner food. I'm not thrown off by the smell of grease in the air or a million knick knacks in a quaint place. But this is not that. It was dirty. Dirty windows you can't see out of. Food on the floor and a wet amd sticky spot at our table. In the middle of the day, with no other customers and at least 2 employees. Unforgivable. Go across the street to Dairy Queen if you want a burger or around the corner to Sam's if you want a diner.
