I work next door and was hesitant to get a salad because your typical pizza place salads are well...not great. That's not the case here at all. The lettuce isn't wilted, the tomatoes aren't whole tomatoes, they even have salad bowls instead of just serving it in styrofoam. Highly impressed!

First time here today. The place is bright and clean and handicapped accessible. We ordered the pulled pork pizza, garlic bread sticks, and fried dough which all came to the table very quickly. Everything was delicious and the service was great!

I have been hitting Pizza Chef for Slices and Calzones for awhile now. Every time it tastes so good you're forced to ask yourself "how can this be so good? It's just pizza right? Calzones are spectacular. I usually save half for lunch but a Pizza Chef calzone left-over will not make it past breakfast.

Great pizza, I was quite impressed! I'm a Pizza Chef virgin so I was a little leary in ordering over the phone. They were wonderful taking my order and answering all my questions. Pizza was ready at the time I requested for pickup. I was greeted with a smile by all the employees. Some of the best pizza I've had in ages, I can't wait to order again and try some other things on their menu. Thank you for the great service and the great pizza!

I've been going to this pizza shop for about 2-3 years now. I usually go about 3-4 times a week. and then there are times when I don't go for about a month due to just not being able to get there before they close for the night. I've never had pizza as amazing as theirs and no other shop comes close to the quality of their pizza. The best part of it all is you can save any leftovers for later and the quality will still be there unlike other shops I've been too. Whenever my family decides to order pizza for any sort of get togethers I always recommend this shop. The moment I had their pizza it felt like my mouth was in heaven, and when I finished it I was overjoyed with how amazing it was, but saddened because I couldn't eat it anymore.

Food was delicious, service was absolutely excellent, nice atmosphere, I'm pretty sure the restaurant owner brought out the food. The person who brought out the food had a smile that set the atmosphere. Also only about 6-8 dollars for two regular cheese pizza slices. 10/10 would go again

Prices are great, and they're also very friendly and seem to genuinely appreciate your business every time you go in. Was on vacation from North Carolina and decided to stop here for lunch after seeing the reviews. The Mediterranean Delight was amazing, probably ranks as one of the best pizzas I've ever had. If I'm ever anywhere close to the area again I will be stopping. The staff were very friendly as well

Food selection caters to a variety of favorites, & so far all choices have been very good. I love the NY style of pizza! Salads are great as are the Turkey Club Wrap, fries & especially the Veggie Sandwich w/ Balsamic Vinegar! The service is fantastic.....staff is friendly, considerate & kind. This has to be the best pizza in Rochester. The toppings were fresh and plentiful (unlike some of the local chains that like to skimp on toppings) and the pizza was cooked perfectly. Great dough, great experience. Will be back to try other menu items. Keep it up guys...oh, and open more locations...

I grew up on authentic New York style pizza. I moved to Rochester 25 years ago, and never found a decent pizza. I used to drive three hours away for a decent pizza, until I found the Pizza Chef! No chain in Rochester can compare with the authentic style and flavor of the Pizza Chef! If you want to know what REAL New York style pizza looks and tastes like stop by, and you'll never eat another pizza in Rochester again!

I live nearby so it's easy to stop in and quickly pick up a couple slices. Very reasonable price, and delicious cheese and sauce and pepperoni on thin crust. (Why fill up on thick crust??) The employees are always friendly, fast, hard working. A pleasure to drop in.

I have been ordering from here twice a week for about two months now, and I have ZERO complaints. I have tried every specialty pizza (all delicious) - also to note - the pizza sauce does NOT cause the heart burn I get from other locations, which is nice; I have tried most of the wing sauces (all so good), I've had just about every hot sub and most of the cold subs (can't complain); although they offer a lot of the same sides as others, the Pizza Logs are absolutely amazing. Pricing is reasonable, imo, and although they don't offer coupons / deals / discounts - they DO offer FREE DELIVERY - which is very rare now a days. Most important to me though, is the customer service - EVERY phone call I've made has been pleasant, whomever answers doesn't rush you thru anything, asks common questions about things people tend to modify, and overall just nice. The same goes to the drivers - they are here, on time or earlier than estimated, pleasant to talk to. I did have one very small issue, but like an adult I called the store, explained the situation, they explained to me how they do things so I know how to order in the future, and then I was compensated with a replacement for my issue, which satisfied me. You don't have to get on social media and one star people and act like the world ended cause you got a mistake on your order when a simple call to the store and speaking to the manager resolves the issue 99% of the time. So, in conclusion, shoutout to the owners and staff because this is an excellent place, and I love all of you

Pizza Chef is my preferred pizza place in the area. With a large group of people to feed, I figured I'd price out a comparable order at a few other places too. I'm glad that Pizza Chef ended up being the most affordable option on top of being the tastiest. I called my order in hours ahead of time because football Sundays tend to get busy. I was worried that our order would get lost in the shuffle, but it was ready at the time requested with no issues whatsoever. Our out of town family said it was better than their beloved hometown pizza place. Consistently delicious and affordable. What more could you ask for?

Excellent pizza, wings, salads, etc. If you're looking for a thin crust pizza, Pizza Chef is the bomb! I go here about once a week on average. I'll be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of thin crust pizza at first, but it really grew on me over time. The red sauce has a tiny hint of zing, which really adds the the flavor of the pizza. The wings are also perfect. Not dry or greasy, and full of flavor. Hit up Pizza Chef and you won't be disappointed. Quick service. Fresh slices. Great flavor. Friendly owner and staff.

We have found our new pizza joint. The pie is always good and the toppings are plentiful. They even played along with us by "accepting" our sons reading book voucher. We didn't want to go to that pizza shop so we talked to Pizza Chief to see if they would pretend to accept his voucher for a "personal pan pizza" and they gladly did. My son was very happy to get his personal pan pizza. None the wiser were able to get a better pizza and he was still happy, a win win in my book.

Best NY style pizza I've found in Rochester. I grew up near Albany and always had access to good NY style pizza, but it's hard to find out here. This tastes just like Pope's in Saratoga, my longtime favorite.

Kid actually got me in here for the first time because they sponsored the local little league baseball team. Enjoyed the space. Spent time in with their whole team. Just enough room to handle us and the parents. All the pizza was gone by the time we left. Think that says great things about their food. Oh and they have ice cream too. Nice treat after a hot day. Our neighbor recently recommended Pizza chef so we gave it a whirl after some other very well respected pizza places in the Fairport/Bushnells basin area have REALLY fallen off. Pleased to say after ordering a couple times from here that we have a new favorite for NY style pizza. It’s been consistent each time we’ve ordered so far and tastes great. The style of pie is very reminiscent of the classic slice shops on the corners in Manhattan. Not overpriced either so the value proposition is great! Definitely worth trying if you’re craving that style of pizza. And the people working there have always been nice and pleasant. Looking forward to trying the sandwiches and other menu items in the future too.

We have lived in Fairport for almost two years now and have gotten pizza from Pizza Chef almost every Friday! We love this place! It’s the perfect NY slice. Prices are great and every item we have tried from the menu we have loved. We have become regulars enough that when we walk in, they don’t even ask for my name, they just go get the order. Everyone always has a smile on their face and is very friendly, and they have been especially kind to my one and a half year old son who often comes with me to pick up the “peeza”. Since my son has started to come with me to pick up now, every worker has offered to help me bring the pizza to the car which is above and beyond but also so incredibly appreciated. Since moving to Rochester from NYC in 2020, we have searched high and low for a good traditional slice. I’m always disappointed by the chewy “crust” and misshaped and uneven slices (a pie cut into 16 soggy slivers, huh???) Well, the search ended yesterday when we walked into Pizza Chef in Fairport and were greeted by a real-life pizza parlor! Complete with pies cut in 8 triangular shaped slices with thin crust! One bite into the delicious thin crust and I felt like we were smack dab back in the city. I can’t compliment them enough. Anyone looking for an authentic NYC style slice, this is your place. I don’t want to knock other places in the area—we’re lucky to have great pizza and food around here—but Pizza Chef is our go-to, especially for events like birthdays.

I read some of the negative reviews, and as they complain about the crust being thin - well duh, that’s NY-style pizza; then don’t order thin crust pizza. And yes, pizza is greasy - it should be. Someone said they are from Buffalo and know good pizza… riiiiight… well I lived in Paris, visited Italy, lived in NYC, northern NJ… I’ve had plenty of pizza. Most pizza around Rochester just plain sucks - I have no idea how people eat this stuff, and they actually seem to like it. Maybe they’ve never been to NYC. Pizza chef is the ONLY pizza so far that comes close to NYC/NJ pizza. (Italian and European pizza are completely different.) So if you like NYC-style pizza, Pizza Chef is your best bet. And let’s be clear, if you can eat any of the chain pizzas, you have no taste buds, period.

Had a bit of an impromptu birthday lunch for our son and some friends here. It could not have been more wonderful! They allowed us to move tables around and were very accommodating. The best pizza I've ever had. I'm from out west, in Utah, and I noticed pizzeria places all over the place here. So I googled "Fairport pizzerias" and saw The Pizza Chef had great reviews. So we went there and loved it! First off, there was a super menu with pizzas, calzones, stromboli, wings, salads, subs, wraps, and even ice cream. The young man who took our order said that he had been working there for over a year and loved it. (That's a good sign. ) We got pizzas and I knew we were in for a treat when I saw them cutting our pizza into slices and heard a delicious crunch as he got to each edge. Yum!! So delicious. My family and I are pizza snobs from Long Island, New York who relocated to the Rochester area. Pizza Chef is by far the best New York style, thin-crust pizza that I've had in the Rochester area. Most importantly it is consistently good. We probably stop in every 2 or 3 weeks and can't remember having a bad pie. We have ordered calzones and wings on several occasions and never had a complaint.

Nice job guys! If you know pizza from other parts of NY, then you know Rochester pizza in general isn’t quite at that level. However, these guys seem to have it figured out, especially when it comes to the crust. As a bonus, the staff are actually friendly (as opposed to many other pizza places where it can feel like you’re bothering them to place an order)!

This place offers a lot of speciality pizza if you are willing to wait for it. They also have great pricing on a slice of pizza and soda. But only offer cheese or pepperoni as their ready to eat slice choices. They were tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The foods always good don’t get me wrong . Just recently ordered and it took them 2 hours to bring my food . Which I had already paid for. I called about 30 times . No answer. First time and last time we order from Pizza Chef. My wife called before 4:30 for a six o’clock delivery because it was a Friday. Pizza showed up at 6:30, cold. Two stars because the driver was apologetic when I asked him to relay to the manager that we weren’t happy about the time and the pizza was pretty good after reheating in the microwave.

Use to be great. But ever sense they moved, the quality has gone down. I have moved on, as well. (In reply to their response... I can't explain it either. I know that they even moved the oven from the old place, so you would think there would be no difference. But we have received several pizza's that were over cooked and/or under sauced.)

I dined in, but I was not thrilled. First of all. It doesn’t look very clean in the dining area or behind the counter, which makes me wonder about when they cook my food! I wish it was all that and more but it’s not because I live very close and it would be most convenient. (I think the prices are too high for what you get!) When I go in anywhere and I see that, it’s not what I would consider a clean place I don’t ever wanna eat there again. I don’t care how good or bad their food is, but this place is not all the rave! (I noticed the owner was rude to a customer who put in a negative comment they did not like the pizza said it was too greasy etc.- so I’m sure how he/she will respond to my comment but I feel as a business professional you have to take the good with the bad and maybe no response at all to that other person’s comment would’ve been a better choice!

Just grabbed three slices of pizza here today, and honestly I wasn’t very impressed. One of the three slices was very salty, and all of them were overly greasy. I love a good pizza that drips grease from the cheese, but this thing was just greasy at the crust which I found to be very unappealing. There wasn’t very much flavor to it either, just kinda salty. As someone who is from Buffalo and has had many good pizzas, this just wasn’t good. Pizza Stop is definitely better than this place. It was worth trying I guess, but I definitely won’t be back.

I've downgraded my rating based on a recent interaction with the owner, who was clearly more interested in making excuses as to why my order was wrong than owning up to it. A business owner's mantra when CONSISTENTLY making mistakes should be "I'm so sorry, how can I make this right for you?" If you get food from this place CHECK YOUR ORDER as it's probably wrong. They might get your money but they won't get any more of mine.

Placed an order tonight and was so disappointed!!! My salad that I ordered was awesome, but my husband's sub was not good!!!!!! The only thing that he can't have is lettuce, but his sub came without anything on it except the meat! Not even mayo or cheese!! Sooooo disappointing!!

Someone was just delivered a used pepperoni pizza a few minutes ago. I had a pizza show up here that I didn't order. I did the right thing and called the establishment to advise a mis-delivery so the actual customer's order was mad right. The pizza in question sat here for ~15-20 mins before the driver showed up to pick it up. I've never ordered pizza here, but I won't now. That shouldn't happen at any time, let alone during a pandemic. Sorry but this has to be said. If they weren't planning on selling it they would have said "throw it out". Big yikes.

Where do I begin.. This is the first time I've ordered here and honestly probably the last. I just got home with my pepperoni pizza and mozzarella sticks. I open my pizza box and at first glance I was a little disappointed, but hey, looks aren't everything- I take a slice out and I can't believe how cold it is.. I'm talking cold -I live 2 minutes up the street so it wasn't the drive that caused this pizza to be colder than my ex girlfriends heart. I shrugged and took a bite anyways.. the cheese came off immediately with one small pull and had the texture of a day old mozzarella stick that's been sitting at room temperature(my mozzarella sticks had the same consistency, gross) I shake my head and take a walk over to my microwave- I slap a slice in for 35 seconds thinking "a hot slice will be better". No. No it was not. It still tasted like a greasy slice of subpar pizza. If the dollar store sold pizza slices.. this would be it. I've had better pizza at chuck-e-cheese, 7-11, and the depths of my freezer that havent been touched in 15 years. Yes, a freezer burnt 15 year old tostino pizza would have been a better option. I had high Hope's for this place mostly because of the high rating and the comments stating "best pizza I've ever had in my life" idk, maybe they've never had pizza before? I'm not sure. But I am sure that this was the worst 26 bucks I've ever spent. To top it all off I thought my root beer would be the one saving grace to this trip.. Nope. My bottle of root beer had been previously opened. Smh. Couldn't even enjoy a pop from this place. End rant.

Ordered food for delivery and the driver rudely demanded a tip. Then when I told him I was not financially stable enough to do so and apologized he stated he would refuse service if I didn’t tip him next time because “if you have money to get food you have money to tip”

The guy who took our order got to mayor things wrong.. and plus wrote our address down incorrectly. So they called after an hr and asked if they had the right address. So 30 mins past when it was supposed to be delivered. In the past we have loved it! Unfortunately the past two times we have ordered there have been issues.

Great Pizza! NY style pizza is always a must when I am in NY. Was very disappointed by the RUDE wait staff. Don’t count how many times you need to call out the order - and say it -within customer hear-shot! Especially in a busy, semi- crowded, TV running, two small kids at next table- Restaurant.

So I am not the one who is ordering pizza in our household but I do have to eat it when it is being ordered. The flavor is nothing but grease and cheese. The person who orders asks for extra toppings but when the whole pizza is nanometer thin and collapses when picked up I can't really excuse it. This pie sucks and consistently too, had to endure this 3 times in the last month and a half. The funny thing is I had good pizza here before a couple years ago but when I suggested to try Pizza Chef a month ago I can do nothing but regret my actions now. Still eating this stuff randomly, tonight they got a pizza that wasn't even cut and pooled in it's own grease. Free to me but oof I feel bad having to pay for that. Remember Arriverderci's? Here’s the deal…the pizza is good but I find the customer service to be lacking at best. So much so that I’m giving them one star. The original issue is topping portions, or lack there of (specifically onions). If a pizza place charges me $1.99 per topping on a large, that’s fair. But I expect to get a $1.99 amount of topping. They have consistently disappointed me with their onion ratios. I’ve tried contacting them (it is extremely difficult to find anyone that cares, let alone an owner) and I’ve been met with sarcasm and a “no F’s given” attitude. Multiple times. I don’t think it was management giving me sarcasm, but whoever I was speaking to last didn’t realize this was their last chance. Don’t even try contacting them on Facebook, they blocked me from being able to view their profile or contact them after I tried getting ahold of them that way. I worked at a pizza place for seven years, I know the industry. I also know how to treat customers. I feel their employees might need some training in that department. Photo included as evidence.
