We started at the Bar & Jackson was awesome, he recommended we try the Buffalo chicken bacon dip. Which we did, it wasn't too spicy & kept you wanted to go back in for more. At the Table our Waiter AJ & the Sommelier Jacamo were Great. We tried the Appetizer wheel, Short rib Sliders, Brussels Sprout Chips, 317 Chicken Tacos, & the Soup Dumplings. Which everyone loved everything. For Dinner the Chicken pot pie all, Short Ribs pappardelle, Veal chop Special, Duck breast & Duck Confi leg, & the Tortellini artichokes, we got the truffle fries & the onion rings for the table. Everything was Delicious. We of Course had Dessert as well. Everyone was planing on when to come back & then to top it all off Chef Eric LeVine came out to the table to say Hi. What an incredible night.
We decided last minute to come here for my sisters birthday. I have been here before and had such an amazing experience. Both times the food, drinks and atmosphere was amazing.
Once again, a great culinarily experience at 317 Main. Food delicious, staff attentive and the atmosphere warm and inviting. Today’s celebration, my niece’s 16th breakfast-brunch. Best restaurant in the town.
Had dinner there last night. My husband had the pork chops and raved about them, I had the maple chicken and it was amazing. I was concerned the maple flavor would overpowered the dish, but it did not. It was perfect. The polenta was light and fluffy. our waiter AJ was also very good and attentive. Would definitely go back. Looking forward to trying some new dishes.
We loved this place!! Everything was great!! The food was delicious and hot. Our server, Adam was friendly and very attentive!! It was just a little noisy. We were there on a Sunday so it was very busy. But we would still very much recommend this restaurant!
317 is Amazing!! The food is creative delicious Janice our Waitress was knowledgeable fun and extremely Friendly!! The Chef Eric comes around and talks to you! The Website is Incredible they have so many fun things to do there Entertainment and The Menu and drinks are Very Creative!!
Had a terrific time last night at 317 in their back room! They often have great bands and "In the Groove" was fantastic last night! It was clear that management put a lot of effort into making sure their guests were able to enjoy the experience. The check in and table seating was very organized and allowed people to just show up and have a good time. Thanks again! We will be back for more.
This is a long overdue review as I have visited this restaurant almost weekly over the last few years. And while the food is always spectacular, the events (dine in movie, bingo, cooking classes/demos, etc) affordable and so much fun, the service from the friendly and personable wait staff top notch, what has prompted this review is the attentive manner of manager Giacomo. Giacomo can be seen buzzing about 317 Main St., quietly keeping an eye on the going-ons and handling any situation patiently and kindly. He strives to make sure each guest is accommodated as best as possible and has a wonderful experience at 317. Giacomo may maintain a low profile on the restaurant floor, however, he stands out and shines brightly to the guests that have come to know him. He is a gem and 317 is lucky to have him on their team!
We love coming here, special during happy hour. Wilson always gives such a great service, we always come back. The food is delicious! Thanks Wilson, you are the best and your drinks even more lol
This restaurant is fabulous! I am wheelchair dependent and I have celiac, which makes it difficult to eat out. But it was not difficult at 317! I was able to easily navigate in this restaurant (everyone was so helpful!), and they are intentional about making gluten-free fare with no cross-contamination, so I enjoyed my meal without fear. The food both looked and tasted delicious, and the portions were quite ample. Chef Eric is very gifted! And he was very friendly and caring, taking time to talk with our family. Truly, I have no complaints. Kudos to all who make this a great place for all! (We drove 40 miles out of our way to visit this restaurant when we were in NYC, because my son really wanted to go there, and it was totally worth the drive and the time!)
What's not to like or criticize. The staff is professional, friendly, and attentive. On this recent occasion, our server Janice T was great. The ambience, design, and style is nice and casual where everyone is welcomed and comfortable- no intimidation here! The food is top quality, not cheap but competitively priced. There is something for everyone whatever your eating diet is. How many other restaurants have the chef (Eric LeVine) come around check on you and make sure you're having a good time and enjoying the food. I've lost count but I'm sure the last 4 visits he has always stop by to chat. There are many better than average restaurants in Farmingdale and surrounding communities. For us there is just something that sets 317 Main above all the others. Maybe it's chef Eric and his dedication, his craft, his life as an example for all of us. Maybe it's the food and service. All I know is we feel satisfied and so much better when we leave 317 Main. Hopefully you'll have a similar experience.
Lunch at 317 Main was savory and satisfying. The turkey burger with apple slaw hit the spot on a cool fall day. . .comforting, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Chef Levine stopped by our table, making the experience personal and memorable. The service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Creativity and care goes into the menu and the details in the front of the house, too.
Celebrated my mom’s birthday with an incredible dinner, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From the appetizers to the dessert, every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our server, Antonio, was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. The experience was wonderful from start to finish, and we can’t wait to come back. It was the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion.
Janice, our server was amazing. She was very attentive and has a great sense of humor. She made recommendations that were spot on, she knows her stuff. The food was delicious. Everyone we were with had an amazing meal. The beer choices were varied, definitely a lot to pick from. My daughter-in-law was saying that the vegan burger was the best She ever had. Can't wait to go back. So many more menu options to pick from.
You'll have to come to the place and find out yourself, but they had the most down to earth staff. Janice, our waitress, was amazing! She gave my friend and I a small Cafe feel, undivided attention, menu recommendations, background information because it was my first time there, and was mindful of us. I'll be coming back. Turkey burger was the best I've ever had honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. Love the fact that they do breast cancer awareness themed drinks and also who doesn't love a good mimosa!? Haven't been this impressed in a while. 😊
What a wonderful lunch we had! The restaurant was an easy walk from the Farmingdale train station down the charming Main Street. Our waiter was extremely gracious and welcoming, guided us expertly through the inviting menu. We ordered the "Ferris Wheel" to start: Perfectly fried wedge potatoes, plaintains, shrimp tempura, arancini served in small baskets on a, yes, metal Ferris stand. We augmented same with a delicious chicken Caesar, soup dumplings, calamari fritti. Add to that perfect sangria (the cocktail selection is amazing) and a "flight" of creamy dessert treats with cappuccino. YOLO: So glad we came, wish we all lived closer to avail ourselves of their film and music events.
Excellent and varied menu at different price points. Our server/manager, Janice, was great and interacted very nicely with our kids. Charred octopus, corn risotto, shrimp tacos and a Cuban were our lunch choices. The food was hot and delicious. I’ve been here before but never wrote the review.
If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, 317 Main in Farmingdale, NY, is a standout destination. We dined there recently, and every aspect exceeded our expectations. The menu offers a wide array of options, making it delightfully challenging to choose. We started with the fried calamari appetizer, perfectly crispy and flavorful—a fantastic way to begin the meal. For entrees, my wife opted for the basil and shrimp with risotto, which was creamy and beautifully balanced with fresh basil. My son tried the duck quesadillas, a unique and rich dish packed with bold flavors. My daughter-in-law enjoyed the Cuban-style sandwich, a hearty and satisfying choice with perfectly seasoned meat. I went with the Spanish paella, a generous portion brimming with fresh seafood and aromatic spices. Each dish was not only delicious but also served in hefty portions, ensuring great value. For dessert, we shared two standout treats: a brownie with Oreo crumble that was indulgently rich and a toffee muffin drizzled with butterscotch syrup—a perfect sweet finale to an already amazing meal. The ambiance at 317 Main is warm and inviting, and the service was attentive and friendly. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a great meal, this place is a must-visit.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at 317 Main! For a busy Sunday, we were seated & served quickly, met the chef, and got the most delicious food sent to our table. We absolutely loved every dish we tried! The calamari stood out for us, we assumed the peppers would be hot but they were sweet with a kick of spice. We also loved trying the deviled egg trio, each egg was different but very tasty. Our main courses were all very good, but the chicken French crepe really stood out for us. The Gruyère cheese made it so creamy, the mushrooms were crispy and well seasoned, it was honestly the perfect savory brunch dish. We were excited to give our feedback to the chef, as if we had anything to say other than “it was so good!!!” Their brisket was also super tender & the barbecue sauce was delicious. The atmosphere was also very busy for a Sunday, but it did tend to get a little loud near the bingo room. Our server was quick to quiet down a loud crowd and usher them out. We appreciated it greatly! We will definitely be back for another brunch visit.
This place is great!! The service was wonderful, Janice was funny and knowledgeable and she was on top of refills! The restaurant has a great vibe. The food was so good!! We started with the soup dumplings which were so flavorful! Got to try the Waffle special which was bbq pulled chicken infused with apple slaw and it did not disappoint! Also tried the 317 Triple Blend burger which was so juicy and cooked to perfection. The Basil and Garlic shrimp was so tasty and the artichoke/olive risotto it came on top of was so creamy and the perfect compliment to the shrimp. Will definitely be back to try more dishes!
Our family of 3 dined last night. We are big chopped fans and wanted to try this restaurant. The food was delicious and the cocktails were great. We tried the squid ink risotto, the rabbit dish, and their salmon pasta dish. We had the cheese board for appetizer. We cannot wait to come back. I also love how kid friendly this restaurant is.
Came here a little while ago heard good things about this place but definitely did not live up to expectations. Service was great but the food not so much overall. Only thing I really liked was the chicken dip that was good with the homemade chips but everything else was kinda subpar especially for the price of the food. The frittata was kinda bland and over cooked very dry the sweet potatoes dish with chicken was very bland no flavor really no seasoning drinks were pretty good just not something I would spend more money on for food that wasn’t flavorful to remember by maybe other dishes are better but from this experience it just wasn’t the greatest food wise
The first time I came here I had a great time in August 2022. They even used to serve CBD drinks. It was great. This time around… not so much. Pros: Drinks. They were great, but pricey. Waiter was very attentive. Apps were great. Loved the burrata, prosciutto was excellent and the duck quesadilla was spicy but flavorful; the ghost pepper really sneaks up on you. Five onion soup was good, but wish the onion was cooked more. Cons: Hard to find parking, understandably so. We went on a Saturday night. Entrees were not good this time around. The shrimp dish I got the first time was fantastic, but this time it was soooo salty, you could see from the color of the dish the risotto had too many olives, had a very hard time eating it I almost sent it back. My partner got the rabbit and he agreed it was also way too salty, he couldn’t even eat it and we unfortunately had to send it back. Our friends got the seared tuna which they said was average, and also the fish tacos which were lackluster. Unfortunately since the entrees were not great, we won’t be back. Hopefully it turns out better for other patrons.
My son and his fiancé took me to 317 for my birthday. The food started out good. The duck quesadilla was delicious. However a cockroach,, yup you read it right, crawled up my water glass!!! I was horrified, but tried not to make a scene. The waiter apologized and said it had never happened before. A manager came over and apologized and said our meal would be comped. We decided to stay given their responsiveness and willingness to comp the food. Otherwise we would have gone someplace else. However when the bill came they took a portion off the bill and gave us free desert. This left a bad experience for me. Something as egregious as a live cockroach crawling on a glass is worth a comp meal. Needless to stay I won’t be returning. Not just because of the incident but it should have been handled better.
I attended a book club event at the James room last night which is a small private room off of 317 main. We’ve been there a few times and also attend Bookclub at a different restaurant in Farmingdale monthly, never was it as much of a hot mess as it was last night. We had one waiter and one busser for a group of about 40 people. They have to go outside on the sidewalk to bring food from the restaurant. This team did not keep track of who ordered what and kept bringing food to the wrong tables. They were literally standing in the middle of the room calling out “did someone order fries?” They also brought so many messed up orders out. Extra drinks that no one ordered, extra fries. These were all probably duplicated in error and therefore they got discarded. So much wasted food. My dish was gross. I ordered chicken paillard and the chicken was very thick and had grizzley pieces in it that were difficult to chew. Finally the checks came, they were all wrong. He put 3 drinks and a burger on my tab which I definitely didn’t order, he had to write everyone’s check down again and re-print the checks for all of the people there which was about 40 people. It took 45 minutes to settle the tab and he rounded my change down, giving me back 5 dollars when it should have been $5.75. Additionally a 20% gratuity was added to our checks and they charge tax on gratuity. I don’t think I will be back to this restaurant. Food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. There were so many issues that come down to restaurant management. Our room was under staffed and the server seemed experience - talk about throwing your staff to the dogs!
