I'm very picky about lasagna. I don't know if it's the sauce or the way its made (fresh vs premade) but I definitely enjoyed the lasagna here. If I'm ever back in the area I have to try out the other food.

I drove about 45 minutes to the fortuna location and was not disappointed. The dining area is really nice. The staff was extremely friendly and food was fantastic. Veal was delicious. I recommend it. Good for a date or a nice family dinner.

Highly recommend this place. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich to go. I was warmly greeted by the girl with cool hair and makeup. 5 stars for great service and food. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

Sabrina, the waitresses made our experience above and beyond. Food was excellent, chicken marsala, chicken picata, & even the bread sticks and salad was great. I can not stress enough how absolutely delicious this food is. This restaurant has quickly become one of my favorites and I am so thankful they moved to Fortuna. The chicken Parmesan is one of my favorite meals I have ever had at a restaurant. I get it without pasta, with extra vegetables and he always gives a generous and filling portion. The flavors are amazing, he is a true chef with a gift for Italian cuisine.

Oh my goodness this place is so good the food is fantastic. My husband and I were staying next door at the hotel and this was the closest place to get a sit-down dinner. I am so glad it was the closest place because the food is absolutely outstanding large portions and delicious. The service was very good the young lady that waited on us was excellent and very accommodating we had ravioli my husband had the spinach ravioli and I had the chicken we got a large salad very large salad to share and breadsticks and two drinks iced teas. It was a lot of food and our total bill I think was about $40 right around 40 between 40 and $50 including tip outstanding we are far from that place we live in Washington State and so I don't know when we'll ever be able to go there again but if I could I would drive there at least once or twice a week you must try this place if you have not yet the pasta sauce has sun-dried tomatoes in it it tastes homemade this place is right on point

Delicious food, nice setting, nice On Tap selection including a cider, my favorite, plus various other drink options to choose from. My hubby had the Cajun Chicken Penne, rich sauce, shrimp, chicken, and linguica that you could see throughout the bowl, tgey served a big fresh, green salad (so big we took half of it home), fresh and tasty breadsticks, and I had the Greek Pasta, and substituted angel hair for the penne, absolutely delicious, light, flavorful sauce with feta on top, and seasoned just right! So good, and I took home enough pasta for 2 meals for me, my hubby had 1 meal from his leftovers. Huge shout out to our server, Sabrina, you could really tell she wanted her tables to have a quality dining experience, and meet their expectations for their food to be hot, fresh, and just as ordered... we were so impressed with her professionalism, and told her so!! We had never been here before, and would definitely return here in the future!!

Their fresh salmon filet with the mash potatoes is out of this world. The seasoning is phenomenal and the potatoes are marvelous! The waitress that helped me with my order tonight was beyond friendly as well as understanding of the requests for the order I placed! 5/5 would recommend!

This place is amazing! My family is vegan and there aren't a lot of restaurant choices in Fortuna, let alone vegan choices. They accommodated us and made pasta primavera. The flavors were delicious! Not just your basic pasta primavera. We were very impressed! Thanks for being in Fortuna!

Had a great dinner here with friends a couple weeks ago. The meals were all great according to our group. I had the calamari linguine which could have used a richer sauce but was still delicious. The pasta was done to perfection and the family style salads and breadsticks were really good. Will definitely be eating there again.

My wife and I are currently driving up the coast for vacation and stumbled upon this place. At first, we were skeptical due to the 3.5 stars but decided to go after looking at google. The outside does not do the interior any justice. Inside is peaceful and quiet (at least for lunch) and is more elegant than what I expected. The service was decent nothing crazy special or horrible. The server was nice and greeted us quickly. As far as the food, it was beyond any expectations I had. My wife and I ordered the toasted chicken ravioli (excellent), house salad (as expected) and the chicken parm (tastes like grandma used to make). We split everything but when they brought the chicken parm, we thought it was two different orders based on the amount we had gotten. The portions were good and everything was hot/fresh. Overall, we finished everything leaving the plates empty. We will be coming back!

A perfect house salad was brought with our calamari appetizer. My girlfriend and I both had lasagna and it was just right. The lovely owner and chef Daniel came out to say hello and sit and talk for a minute-we thanked him for such a great meal. I will come back soon and try a seafood pasta entree!!

It's too pricey for what you get, but it is good. I really enjoy the chicken picatta, chicken marsala, and steamed clams.

It was my partner's birthday and everything started off well. Dinner rush hit and then we were forgotten about for another bigger table. Communication became poor and we were left for almost an hour just waiting for dessert and check. Not sure if they forgot or didn't have candles but no candle in the cake. Food was amazing but the service left a bad taste in my mouth.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised after eating in the Fortuna location where I got the pesto penne. I had it one other time while they were still in there Eureka location and I didn't care for it that much. This time was different and everything was great and I have a new appreciation for it. The owners also very nice and talkative and comes out in greets people which is also a touch I'm always appreciated.

We used to go this restaurant on Washington Street in Eureka and also when it moved to 5th street in Eureka. The food has always been the draw, consistently delicious. Now I must say the new restaurant and expanded menu here in Fortuna is amazing. Very happy that it appears Bella Italia has found its forever home. Good food, good service, and great new atmosphere.

Our waitress did a perfect job of hosting us. The pizza was OK, not too big. They could try and add atmosphere in the restaurant though. Hang empty chianti bottles on the ceiling for instance.

Friendly staff. I ordered the spicy meatball sandwich. I expected fresh jalapenos on what was otherwise a good sandwich. A custom sandwich with canned jalapenos wasn't very appetizing.

Salad was tasty but the lasagna was a thirty dollar slice of stouffers microwave generic stuff with extra cheese on top. Bummer. And they don't serve burgers after lunch time? What?

Prompt service, ordered a $26 dish that was supposed to have a white sauce non existent, ok flavor. Spaghetti is pretty good though, ambiance is nice, entrees were rushed though and it showed

We went on Valentines and it was freezing inside.( Fortuna 60°). The air conditioner was on, I asked. The breadsticks were pretty tasteless and it came with oil and vinegar which didnt have much flavor. The salad(Ceasar) was good for an upcharge. Like a reg.veggie salad comes with dinner but for a ( Ceasars) with no veggies cost more.. go figure. My BF had chicken alfredo and when it arrived it literally was so watery (sauce) it looked like milky water . The server said it was because it was so hot and hadnt thickened. I had 4 cheese Penne which was really cheesy and I had to scoop some of my sauce into his plate.so he wasnt eating plain pasta. Neither plate had much flavor no garlic or seasonings. It was a very disappointing dinner for 2 for $80 and NO drinks just ice tea and root beer. I LITERALLY WAS SHIVERING THRU THE WHOLE DINNER.AND HAD TO GO TO MY CAR TO GET WARM WHILE HE WAITED FOR THE CHECK . Dont recommend this place at all. They were barely busy we had a 5pm reservation Did not get a.pic of the disappointing food I was so damn cold and just wanted to leave. We also got deep fried green beans that were hot anf good.

My wife and I went in for dinner. First timers here. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere; cloth tablecloths, nice music, good lighting. However, the people at the table behind us arrived after us and were served everything before us; drinks, salads, entrees, even the check. To say the least, our young waitress was far less than attentive: during our meal, I placed my empty drink at the accessible end of the table, she never came by to ask if I wanted a refill...until after we were finished with our food. We had to wait an extended time for each step of the meal; when you find yourselves looking toward the kitchen to see if anyone is coming, that is never a positive reflection of good service. My wife got Spaghetti with meatballs. The meatballs were dry and "tight" (read: overcooked). For dessert, I ordered apple pie al la mode. When it arrived, the dish was very pretty. We expected the pie to be warm, though we did not request this...it was not. All in all, the restaurant was nice, the food was ok, the waitress was very sweet but should spend less time talking with fellow coworkers and more time attending to tables. It should be noted that there was only one other occupied table when we sat down. Throughout our dinner there were more staff members than customers, so timeliness should have been a non-issue. At no point during our visit were there more than three occuppied tables being served, ours being one of them.

I thought (and just my personal preference) that the garden salad should come with shredded cheese instead of Parm, Parm is more for Cesar salad but again just my preference. My server was an absolute sweetheart, she was very friendly and always checked in on me. The wait time was not long for the food. The price is about average nowadays, I was by myself and spent about $30 and didn't get a soft drink. The only other comment I'd make was while the cooks and everyone seemed to be having a good time (which I am 100% for) they were loud. I mean non stop talking, and pretty loud. I'm glad they get to work and have a nice Convo but I honestly don't need to hear it the entire time I'm trying to enjoy my meal. Not sure if there was a manager because nobody asked them to maybe lower their voices but that would be my suggestion. Inside voices lol.. We just visited there & the food was ok, but nothing to write home about. The service was lacking, no refills on soda was offered. No ticket, just verbal total price & very over priced. Will not be going back there .

Before you even get in the door there are weeds all over and garbage in the bushes. The parking looks like it's all gravel. The interior looks really nice though. The food is good, but not great and over priced for what you get. The service is horrible. We didn't get our salad and got charged for extra bread sticks. The only waitress was running around everywhere while the owner/manager was standing around talking. Note: Take local reviews with a grain of salt. Humboldt natives wouldn't know good food if it bit them.

The worst lasagna I've ever had the misfortune to order. Threw it away after 2 bites and microwaved Stouffer's instead. Really, it was THAT bad. Don't waste your time and money - I lost $30 (including tip) to learn this lesson. That's not even mentioning the kitchen & front-of-house staff completely ignoring current mandatory health regs, btw...

Hard to tell if the restaurant is open, very dirty on the outside, all the recipes easy enough to make at home with no more than a highschool cooking course's worth of knowledge. No homemade pasta, not sure what even is made in-house. Wait staff wouldn't know chianti from chiaroscuro, foodies need not apply. To be fair Italian food in Humboldt county is poor over all, so good luck. Ivanhoe is the best bet but it's not strictly Italian.

Food took hours not worth it at all.

Every time we go there the cooks are too busy bickering and talking in the back to cook. The servers do not call down or expedite thier orders to the cooks to demand timing expectations, Waits for food are at least an hour. Waiting for your bill takes at least twenty minutes to a half of an hour. Door dash this food and your waiting two hours. The food is not good enough for the snotty attitudes with the "I will do it when I feel like it" service.

I went there with my cousin today and we got the chicken Parmesan and lasagna and we told the waitress that we were gonna split it so she asked if we wanted two plates each and we said that’d be great. the food came and the lasagna was great but the chicken was disgusting and the noodles had such watered down sauce it wasn’t good at all. we were planning on splitting the bill down the middle and we were guessing that it’d be around 80 but it came out to close to 100!! there was a 20$ fee for splitting the food !!! it was 10$ on each bill. absolutely insane that the waitress didn’t even mention that there’d be a 20 dollar charge for them to just put the same amount of food on two plates. i’d get if it were 10 but 20$ is crazy. so if you’re coming here and planning on splitting your food just ask for extra plates or be prepared to just waste 20$. I know the charge isn’t the waitress’ fault but she definitely should let customers know about that charge.

Driving to enjoy Italian food at this restaurant was disappointed to see it is closed. UPDATE YOUR GOOGLE PAGE!!!

Don't like to be critical about local business but this place is the worst restaurant I may have every been too. You can find my extended Yelp review if you'd like to read more. Let's just say bland food, bad lettuce, flat beer, obviously frozen food/mush when heated. Quality is consistent with a number of recent reviews. Those who have given this a high review obviously know the people who work there or were raised on Stouffer's (no disrespect). Avoid.

Not authentic Italian food, not sure why they're so focused on the name. Walked in about a month ago for a 6 top and the host/Server had a attitude. So instead of engaging back with a attitude we walked right out. Also myself and my family are from Palermo Sicily, this food is by far overpriced compared to the real thing. Maybe some day soon they're will be a better and more authentic Italian restaurant in Humboldt. Fingers crossed 🤞

I was pretty excited to try Bella Italia as I've heard they've been in Humboldt for over a year now. Just haven't heard much about it and I see why. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich, the bread is wet. The fries aren't fresh and partially raw. The mozzarella sticks are good but the marinara is spicy 😅 like salsa... It was the service that Got me, the manager stood behind the counter talking to 2 other waitresses gossiping while my food sat on the counter for 15mins. I mean I guess their drama is better than a customer.

Went to eat the other night and the food was great but the serving staff was unbelievable. My server was Sabrina. She must of been having a hard day which I understand but there is no need to make huffing noises after i was ordering something . Every item i ordered she huffed and said is that it? Then slammed our menus on the table and left. I wanted to talk to the manager about the situation (Alyssa) but she was busy intimidating another server. She had her in a corner pointing her finger in her face and the poor girl looked so uncomfortable. I decided to not put my server thru that . Then another server was passing us named EMMA and she was so kind and apologized for the managers unprofessionalism and i told her not to apologize that it's not her fault. She helped us even thoe it wasn't her table and made it a little better. But the owners need to get rid of that manager. They have cameras so I know they can see her treating them like that I hope something gets done.

An extremely disappointing experience on our arrival in Fortuna. Despite our order being taken almost as soon as we sat down, we waited almost an hour and a half before our main meal arrived. Staff blamed this on having a party of 30 to deal with,, but is that really our problem? They should have said on arrival that it might take a while because of said party, instead of taking our order and bringing salad and our wine order (which, needless to say, was almost finished before we finally got our food). Had we known the delay was going to be so long, we would have gone elsewhere. The staff were apologetic, but this really reflects badly not only on the restaurant, but the whole chain, and even (to us, as tourists) to the whole town of Fortuna. Just unacceptable service, and the icing on the cake was that a party of four at the next table, who had arrived at least half an hour after us, were served first. Needless to say, we will not be returning here, or patronising any Bella Italia franchises in future.

Something always goes wrong with the orders from here. This time the burgers were burnt and flavorless. Fries seemed old and deep fried twice. I have tried different items here and everytime something goes wrong. Ordered Buffalo wing and no dipping sauce. Huge disappointment.

By far, the worst excuse for food ever. Staff didn't seem to concerned about health or being safe and clean during the pandemic, which whatever, I could have over looked if the food wasn't absolutely disgusting. Ragu would have had more flavor. don't bother eating at this mix of Mexican and Italian (sad because normally each of those have flavor) this place serves flavorless food!

While presentation was ok, Food was tasteless, and watery. (See pictures) tastes like watered down tomato paste. The noodles were undercooked. The entire meal was a waste. (besides the spring salad mix -that you can pick up at any store) Even the bread sticks appeared and taste like the pre made and frozen kind (also tasteless) with some grease dumped on top. The sandwich had tiny meatballs and no flavor too. In no way is this anything Italian, but rather discusting food. When I told the waitress she claimed she would have fixed it sooner, and still charged us, even though we told her the food was inedible- plus it would have been kind of hard to fix the entire sauce they use. It was just gross. Also* masks are still a requirement here, and the kitchen staff had absolutely none.
