It may be the best Puerto Rican food I’ve had… definitely a hidden gem in Ocean Springs! Don’t be fooled by the look or location. Mofongo is a must. Salsa criolla is delicious. Churrasco was so tasty. I wish I could take some alcapurrias back to Miami!!! It’s only about 20-25 min from Kessler Air Force base.

I came here for fathers day while on a road trip. I traveled the world & this is honestly the best red snapper I've ever had in my life!!! So crunchy, fresh & perfectly seasoned. The shrimp mofongo was great too. My husband & I will definitely be coming back.

Food was amazing and fresh! I got the daily special of roast hog/pork with rice and pigeon peas + a salad. Pork was super tasty and the rice was amazing as well. Super friendly staff too!

Best puerto Rican food I've had in a while. Beautiful location with a nice atmosphere because of the ocean breeze near by. I would eat here again any day!

I give stars according like restaurants. This new hole in the wall DESERVES A VISIT. Wish (or glad it is not closer to me) was closer but is located about 5-7 min east of ROUSES on the left hand side . Outside seating only. So get it to go or wait til 7-8 Pm. We had the Garlic Chicken MOFONGO ( Pechuga al Ajillo). DELICIOUS. Has some Homemade Passion Fruit Juice. And an appetizer of Fried Stuffed Ground Beef Fritter ( ALCAPURRIAS). Can wait to try something different the next few times. PS. Great music on their outside Stereo.

So exciting to have a new choice in Ocean Springs! The Carne Fritas are delicious. The mofungo is authentic as you can get, so good. I had the Chicharrone de pollo it was quite tasty. I did swipe some carne Fritas from my husband's plate. The portion size is huge. This is a little place and they cooking to order so plan to wait it will be worth it.

Finally stopped on my way back to the Goula from OS. It had been recommended by a past coworker and I had been itching to try, but I hardly drive out this way anymore. I had an excuse this time and they were open so I went for it. I was worried there was a fire as everything was painted black as opposed to being multicolored in my memories at least. It was late afternoon and was basically empty, but I've driven past when it was totally packed out. We took our time perusing the menu trying to decide on what we wanted. I knew I was going for the mufongo, but had difficulty choosing which version. As she went for the roast pork dinner, I ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce and a papaya? fruit juice. The juice was good but really sweet, which I was expecting. She enjoyed her roast pork, but it was ok to me. There was a flavor I couldn't place that I wasn't vibing with. Not bad, just not what I was expecting. The pork was still tender and juicy though. The rice and peas were slightly bland. The shrimp mufongo was excellent. You could honestly put that garlic sauce on anything and I would eat it. The plantains were cooked and seasoned properly to accentuate the really big shrimp they serve it with. I could only finish half. The outdoor seating area was comfortable, they had several large fans for when that summer heat hits. There was also a pool table to make use of.

Lechonera El Flamboyan was recommended by a coworker and my wife and I were in the mood to take a drive and get some lunch so we decided to check them out. First off, this place isn’t fancy and there is no indoor seating but that’s not meant to be a critique. There is outdoor seating however which is what my wife and I decided on. Just establishing expectations should you decide to give them a try. I ordered the Pechuga al Ajillo Mofongo and my wife had the Carne Frita Mofongo. Both dishes were delicious and the portions ample. Been a New Yorican from The Bronx, I don’t get too many opportunities to enjoy authentic Puerto Rican food outside of New York and Lechonera El Flamboyan did not disappoint. Highly recommended.

Goula Rican

It’s a very good place — quiet, with good food. A little piece of Puerto Rico in Mississippi. But I have something bad to say: one of the bathrooms stink as if they were never cleaned. The lock is hard to open — if you’ve been drinking, I’m sure you’ll take minutes to get out. Clean the bathroom and I’ll rate y'all 5 stars.

Jalisa “Jalisa”

This was giving what I thought I would receive. I love hog mawl, but the plate had no addition flavor. I don't like carrots and green onions and things I would get more flavor but that was a no. I cannot remember the name of the side is a root vegetable for when I was told. It is very similar in texture to a potato but not. I did like it though. My lunch buddy said his steak was very tender he cut it with a fork and he enjoyed it. Tried a new drink Tamarind Juice. I've made a sauce with the paste before but never had as drink

This place has excellent food if you can get by all the fighting and disruption that those people cause who hang out there. The owner is a very respectable businessman man but the crowd that the place draws is ridiculous. The owner even called the police on his customers. It's just a risk to even try and get some food.
