This is the 2nd time we've been in recently, the food is AMAZING and the service is spot on! Great job to our server, Johnny Steele, and of course chef-kiss to the kitchen!

Cabernet Grille is the most amazing snd satisfying restaurant I’ve ever been to! It’s a dining experience that must be had! Don’t sleep on the roasted carrot soup. Everything we enjoyed was a culinary delight!

We had a very nice dinner with excellent service from Johnny! We came early for have a pre-dinner cocktail at The Gin Mill, which is part of the property. Unfortunately, it was closed due to illness, apparently only one person being ill closed the entire bar. We ended up enjoying a drink and amazing goat cheese appetizer before dinner. Our server, Johnny, was very attentive, friendly and patient with us, as we didn’t want to rush through dinner. I had the pork medallions and my husband had the lobster topped chicken fried rib eye, both were very tasty. The berry cobbler for dessert was fantastic! The atmosphere was warm and cozy but the star of the show, for me, was the courtyard outside. There are several rental units for over night guests and water features providing a very relaxed, rustic atmosphere. I would love to return and spend some time just sitting outside and enjoying a drink.

We visit this place annually for our wedding anniversary and are never disappointed. Christopher Jensen was our waiter and he had several tables but was attentive to each of our requests. He also had great recommendations. We had the Magic Mushrooms for an appetizer, a couple of cocktails, one entree was the flounder, the other was the filet mignon. For dessert we took to go the brown butter cake.

I had an amazing experience at Cabernet Grill. The food was absolutely fabulous, full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. A special mention to our waitress, Edie Finidori, who provided outstanding service,attentive, friendly, and truly professional. Highly recommend this restaurant, and I will definitely be coming back!

Amazing place! Had one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten here. We normally don’t order soup when going out but the ancho chile soup was absolutely incredible. Host and waitstaff were all very friendly and welcoming. Even though they were completely full, it wasn’t too noisy and the table are spaced apart well. Would recommend making reservations though! Can’t wait to come back again.

Staying at a nearby Airbnb over Christmas. Made reservations @ Cab Grill 2 weeks ago. Arrived about 45 min early, checked in and went to adjacent Gin Mill for drinks until our table was ready. Mike at Gin made me an outstanding Old fashioned using my requested bourbon. My wife ordered a local wine "Ron Yates Temparillo" which would pair nicely with the crab appetizer and crab entree she was having. We were notified our table was ready and walked back with our drinks. Was seated at a great table, in the main dining room, menus dropped and water delivered. ( great tasting well water). Kyle, our waiter introduced himself we talked a little about the restaurant, the chef/owners and drink/dinner menu. We both had another round and ordered. For appetizers ordered jumbo crab claw gratin and chicken fried deviled eggs. Both were off the hook. We split the cowboy ceaser salad(excellent). For entrees my wife had pecan crusted lump crab shrimp cakes and I had the buttermilk "sous vide" fried chicken thighs. Both were also off the hook great. We finished up with egg nog cream brulee. Again, off the hook delicious and we are cream brulee afficionados. The restaurant is beautiful and atmosphere perfect. Kyle and staff were attentive and the pace & timing of food delivery, perfect! The owners son dropped by and we had a great conversation about the restaurant and it's history. Having owned a small intimate eating establishment myself, I can say that the owners hit it out of the ballpark with this place. Well worth visiting.

Incredible food and decadent desserts in a Tuscan setting with the friendliest staff. What’s not to like? The star of the show here is the food. It sets the bar high for anywhere, not just Fredericksburg. Cost: In a party of 4, we had 2 cocktails, 3 entrees, one side, and 3 desserts for $300. I feel the pricing was very fair and I look forward to returning soon. For comparison, and they’re going to hate me for this, Jack’s Chophouse was twice as expensive and the food was less impressive. If you want an old school steak house feel, go to Jack’s for the atmosphere. If you want food you’ll rave to your friends about for weeks, go to Cabernet Grill.

This place is UNREAL. From the atmosphere, to the service, to the actual food, everything was phenomenal. The food especially, was some of the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We ordered the biscuits and Mexican street corn as our entree, both were so delicious. We then ordered the filet mignon paired with the garlic serrano sauce and mashed potatoes. Each bite tasted better than the last. I savored as much of it as I could without inhaling it in one bite. The atmosphere is very rustic, perfect for a Hill Country dinner. Once we sat down, the table felt elegant and perfect for a romantic meal. Finally, our server, Miguel, made the experience so seamless. He was knowledgeable with their extensive wine selection, and everything he recommend was the right choice. Overall, would be back in a heartbeat.

Came here after seeing the reviews - it does not do the place justice. The location is gorgeous! We arrived a little early to our reservations so we followed the path to the lounge and had a delicious cocktail. We got to our table and the dining room is very rustic and warm with a large fireplace. A great date night spot. Our server was knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We started with the fried deviled eggs and wow didn’t think I could love deviled eggs more - but clearly I can. My husband and I both got a ribeye steak and a side of drop biscuits. When I tell you that was one of the best cooked steaks we’ve ever had - it was. It was cooked to absolute perfection. The biscuits were perfectly crisp, warm and fluffy. My only regret was we were too full to get dessert. I’ll be dreaming about this place. Highly recommend!

This is an experience. The food was absolutely outstanding! Kyle was awesome with service. I never felt neglected but I never felt bothered either. His timing was perfect. The food was what dreams are made of. The lobster boudain balls were just enough to whet the appetite. They were melt in your mouth good. The steak I had was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. The Garlic Beranaise sauce on the side enhanced the flavor of the steak even more. The Smashed Potatoes and Three Cheese Grits were phenomenal as well. I really enjoyed my experience here and there is no doubt that I will be back.

Great place for a relaxing and delicious meal. Chicken fried ribeye was outstanding. Took the Mrs for birthday celebration, the card signed by the staff waiting at our table was a nice touch. They topped it all off with a delicious slice of cheesecake. Great ambiance, server was very attentive without hovering, or being annoying. Well done!

We were unable to get a reservation but came relatively early to dinner service and were able to get walk-in patio seating within 15 minutes of waiting. Even while you wait, the restaurant is part of the Cotton Gin Village lodgings, which makes you feel like you’ve entered a small town in and of itself. We had the ten-ounce strip steak with three cheese grits, pork medallions with market veggies, and the lemon-honey-golden milk crème brûlée, which was alllll amazing. We were also given complementary “shots” of the roasted carrot soup, which was delicious!

Delightful dinner at Cabernet Grill this evening! Very cool place, unique venue, old country Texas style. Cabernet Grill has been serving up great grub for 20+ years. There’s a reason! Christopher was our waiter tonight… well done! Complimentary sample of the carrot soup was very good! We opened with the wedge salad… on point! Throughout the meal we enjoyed Texas’ own Heath Vineyards sparkling wine… delicious! We next tried the magic mushrooms… very different, but we went with the waiter’s rec on that. Amazing! For entrees we shared the NY strip, smothered in gorgonzola and mushrooms, and the sautéed flounder in cream sauce, crawfish tails and capers. Both were over the top good! The blackberry crisp/Mexican vanilla ice cream dessert perfectly rounded out the meal. A small dish of complimentary chocolate mole covered almonds was awesome. Cozy, comfortable place, great and friendly staff, off the chart food, 5-stars all day everyday! Highly recommend Cabernet Grill!

Excellent restaurant. The service was exceptional. The food was amazing. Every dish was memorable from the mushroom, bruschetta the quail, and the gnocchi. The quail was the most exquisite I have ever tasted, and the pulled pork on the inside was so flavorable and smokey. The Magic Mushroom and the bruschetta were so delicious. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The gnocchi was so flavorful. Each dish is perfectly delicious. Large wine selection. Cannot wait to visit this area to come here again. You must try this restaurant. It is worth the travel time.

But beef was way overcooked. Manager was incredibly sweet and took off our bill. We didn’t want a replacement which was offered. But overall loved the Texas wine , liqour options. Our server was the best!!! Eddie is amazing! Request her. She is subtle, offers advice on plates, doesn’t linger or talk a ton, low tones, respects your privacy and is the best we’ve ever had.
