This cafe offers decent food and good vibes, making it a nice spot to relax and unwind. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for catching up with friends. The service is also good, and the staff are friendly, which adds. Definitely worth a visit.
Excellent selection and great place to lounge with the coffee and bites. The ingredients are fresh and preparations very tasty. The coffee is prepared with great care and it shows in the taste. The consistency and quality beats a lot of the chains out there Beautiful interiors that keep up with heritage nature of the building. Hang out with friends or read a book and enjoy a cuppa - great place and will be coming back soon
Nice cafe and bar. But the main reason we went there was for the food. Tacos and quesadilla specifically with coffee. Situated in the corner of the street at Fremont Blvd, Union Street and Washington, the older part of town, IMO it has a good vibe of a cute internet cafe. Good place to sit and chat and even work remotely. I recommend this place. Oh yes, the chai tea latte goes well with the quesadilla. Yummy.
2/8/26 Went here on superbowl Sunday for brunch with a friend. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. The portion sizes are huge so you might have to take the food to go. The parking lot can get very full and chaotic on weekends!
Discovered this place while looking for brunch places on Saturday. Loved the vibes! Delicious food and excellent selection of coffees and beverages. Would definitely come back.
Great kick back hang. Amazing coffee, lots of drinks to choose from. Highly recommend the sincere apple cider and the have mercy hazy IPA from laughing Monk brewing. There's lots of seating inside and out. Relaxed atmosphere and the food is fresh and you can tell there's real love here.
This place never disappoints. We visit this place often. The food is just amazing here. Had to get our usual French toast as always, it never disappointed us. Tried the chicken quesadilla for the first time here. Man oh man, it was amazing. The flavour was super good. Flavourful Creamy filling inside. It was awesome. Can’t head out without the South Indian filter coffee. I do feel like the taste for the coffee is going down. Still a very good place to try it all. The ambience is also good. Nice plants everywhere.
I feel like this is one of the those cafés that we have all seen in fremont but never tried. We probably all of us have driven past it. We finally gave it a try. And I can tell you it is one of those gems that I should have tried a long time ago. Their coffee is amazing, tried their seasonal coffee , you can actually taste the ingredients that they say are in it. It is not blistering hot, it is hot but please hit that you won’t burn yourself with it. Flavourful. Crepe’s and sandwich was amazing. They are just around the Fremont Sunday farmers market, always a good area to drop by after or before the shopping at farmers market. Nice clean area. You sit next to window and you will never be bored here.
A welcoming atmosphere immediately, greeted with a genuine interest in sharing what is on their menu . For it being Holiday season , the twinkling lights and high ceiling with plenty of nooks to settle down and read an article , check your emails ( plenty of places to work from your laptop) or just absolutely settle into quiet thought ( come early for that quiet moment ✨) The food , I ordered the avocado toast on sourdough with an addition of thinly sliced cucumber with their seasoning and they happily accommodated my request for a side of sliced lime . Presentation , beautifully done , sourdough perfectly toasted , creamy avocado with care to make sure I had it sliced with attention to no brown spots , a perfect texture ( I work in grocery so I understand the challenge of an avocado! Seasoning delicious, a scrumptious, healthy breakfast on this December morning in Fremont California, where I feel welcomed, cared for and most importantly money well invested and not thought of as “ spent “ ✨✨ I see they also serve Craft Beers , Ciders & Kombucha with a lovey back patio ( too early in the day for me but the charm and quality Hops and Beans Cafe exudes….. my heart is already set on coming BACK ✨✨✨✨🤍
Found this gem today in Fremont. Beautiful atmosphere, good food, supreme service. You can sit with your dog on their big and nice outside sitting area. We had chicken pesto crepe and california melt. Both good! The coffee is just amazing! Try their signature drinks!
A nice and quaint corner cafe for drinks and food. We came here to grab some brunch on a weekday. Ordered the breakfast burrito, breakfast crepe and a drink. The burrito and crepes tasted great and was quite filling. They also offer beer and cocktails if you’re looking for something more. The beer looks like it’s locally sourced from Das Brew which is great to see collaborations with other local businesses. It’s a nice place to work from or just to read some books while you enjoy your food or drinks.

Amidst the bustling streets of Fremont, California, lies a serene haven for both caffeine enthusiasts and food aficionados alike – Hops and Beans Cafe. Venturing into this quaint establishment for lunch proved to be a decision worth savoring, as I embarked on a culinary journey that left an indelible mark on my taste buds. Upon stepping through the door, I was greeted by a warm ambiance enveloped in a casual charm. The interior, with its cozy seating arrangements and inviting decor, beckoned me to unwind and indulge in the simple pleasures of life. It was a welcome respite from the frenetic pace of the outside world. Perusing the menu, my eyes were immediately drawn to the California Melt Sandwich, a tantalizing concoction that promised a symphony of flavors. Paired with a side salad, it seemed like the perfect choice to appease both my hunger and my craving for something wholesome. As I awaited the arrival of my meal, I couldn't help but admire the attentiveness of the staff, who exuded a genuine passion for providing top-notch service. Their friendly demeanor only added to the overall charm of the establishment, making me feel right at home. When my order finally arrived, I was met with a feast for the senses. The California Melt Sandwich, with its generous layers of melted cheese, avocado, and savory turkey, was a masterpiece of culinary craftsmanship. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, leaving me longing for more. The side salad, with its crisp greens and vibrant assortment of vegetables, provided a refreshing contrast to the indulgent richness of the sandwich. It was the perfect accompaniment, adding a burst of freshness to every mouthful. As I savored each bite, I couldn't help but marvel at the culinary prowess of the chefs behind this culinary gem. Their dedication to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients was evident in every aspect of the meal, elevating it to a level of excellence that surpassed my expectations. In conclusion, my dining experience at Hops and Beans Cafe was nothing short of exceptional. From the welcoming ambiance to the impeccable service and, of course, the delectable fare, every aspect of my visit left a lasting impression. It's a testament to the fact that sometimes, amidst the chaos of everyday life, all it takes is a simple meal in a cozy cafe to restore one's faith in the beauty of the culinary arts.

This place is so cozy and delicious, it’s a great way to start your day. They have tasty coffee with special flavors, tras, hot chocolate, everything savory or sweet is just great. I recommend the Garden fresh crepe, it comes with a salad and it is just amazing. In my opinion, the lavender coffee is a must try. I love the fireplace tv show displaying on the wall, and the Bob Ross videos too! The restroom is clean although a little dark, but it’s part of the atmosphere. Many people go there for working because they even have WiFi for free. There is a big parking lot behind, but it is also very well located so you can even get there walking.

Been coming here for years. Food and drinks are great. Specialty coffee drinks and their seasonal ones are well made and fun. Plenty of seating. Late-hipster meets art deco charm. I believe this place use to be a bank. I usually get the Black Forest mocha which is basically mocha with raspberry. Safe space for BIPOC and LGBTQ, which needs to be called out. Corner shop with plenty of sunlight on one side with dark and cozy in the other.

Great place! Their crepes are so yummy 😋 We tried breakfast and chicken pesto crepes. Highly recommended! Nutella crepe was so-so. I would skip it. Also, matcha latte was good 👌 I love the atmosphere and service. We got food pretty fast.
Hops and Beans Cafe is an absolute gem! I stopped in and tried the Rose Cardamom Latte, and it was seriously so good—delicious, perfectly spiced, and wonderfully huge. It was easily one of the best specialty lattes I've ever had. I also ordered the Tuna Sandwich, which was absolutely delicious and more than enough to be a complete, filling meal. It was definitely worth the price for the quality and portion size. Beyond the food and drink, the atmosphere here is incredibly welcoming. It's super quiet and clean, with a lovely vibe that's both modern and cute/quaint. It's the perfect spot to relax or get some work done. Highly, highly recommend!
Come for the drinks, stay for the food! I was blown away by the menu here—everything my group ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It’s the perfect hybrid spot where you can grab a high-quality coffee or a great beer selection to pair to pair with a great menu selection. This isn't just 'cafe food'; it’s a destination. Highly recommend

Was in the area doing an errand and hadn’t had breakfast despite it almost being midday. Opted for this place rather than one of my husband’s preferred big chain coffee shops and although we ended up not getting a drink, I’m really glad we came. The Biskit Wisk It was absolutely delicious and the perfect portion for me in one sitting. I also appreciate that the patio area can be used as an entrance from the parking lot in the back, but heads up that the parking lot can get chaotic on a farmer’s market day.

My main reason for visiting was to check out their colored latte art, which they've sadly discontinued. Rose Cardamom Latte (4.5/5): A tasty coffee with a hint of rose and a subtle touch of cardamom. I wished the cardamom was bolder. Chicken Pesto Crepe (5/5): This crepe was a winner! Great flavor and a massive serving, perfect for sharing.
Nice coffee shop around the corner. The food is good and good coffee. Sandwiches are good. I tried the South Indian filter coffee - thought it wasn’t exactly like that it was pretty decent. The other coffees are good. Lovely place with friendly staff.
Visited Hops and Beans in Fremont, and it was fantastic! Ordered an almond croissant, a white chocolate latte, and a vanilla latte. The coffee was rich, smooth, and so flavorful—definitely some of the best I’ve had! The almond croissant was perfectly flaky with just the right amount of sweetness. The service was good, though I wish they had noticed the two small cracks on the rim of my cup—it would’ve made the experience even better. Overall, it’s a great spot for a cozy coffee break! Highly recommend for anyone who loves quality pastries and well-crafted drinks.

the inside is very cute and quiet! great place for studying. the expresso frappe was delicious, but the spinach and artichoke dip was abs disgusting…. it tasted like warm guac? with big chunks of raw artichoke 😭😭😭 it was actually so bad. themediterranean melt was alright though.

Update November 2025 Prices are incredibly high, the food in particular. Quality of food and coffee drinks has noticeably declined. The warm inviting atmosphere inside seems to have vanished. However, there was a change of ownership sign in the window, so that might explain it. Perhaps they are in the midst of transitioning to the new owners and quality has been overlooked. I hope the new owners can return this place to what it was, once they get settled in. It was great just a year ago. ——————————————— Tasty grilled cheese breakfast sandwich and well-made espresso drinks. Prompt and friendly service and the cafe has a great vibe.
I just wanna say, worst experience ive ever had, anywhere. we got to the restauraunt and it was understandably busy. We waited in line for about 5 mins, and ordered our food. When ordering our food, we specifically told them to make sure theres no meat in any of the items. After approx. 20 mins, we kindly asked the worker for an estimate on when our food would be ready, since we had a flight to catch. They kept telling is there’s people ahead of us but it shouldn’t be much longer. Another 10 mins past, and we asked them again how much longer, they told us 5-10 mins again and so we just told them to pack the items to go since we don’t have time anymore. The first order came out and it was not packed to go. We reminded them that we asked for it to be packed to go. The guy then took it back and packed it and rehanded it to us and said ”here’s the burrito, no ham and no sausage”. Now, we’re just waiting for the second item and the worker tells us it should only be about 2-3 mins. however, it took another 10 mins. We finally get our food, i sit in the car and open it up. I go to take a bite, and I come to find out there’s ham and sausage in it. We open the next item, and that one also has meat in it. At this point it had already been an hour that we waited and we had a flight to catch. I just went back in, and asked for a refund. They refunded my entire order and didn’t even offer like a pastry, or drink, or really any other solution. He just ‘apologized’ and refunded me. Now, I understand things happen, but if they had just told us how long the wait would be way in the beginning this all would’ve been avoided. We even asked them several times leading up to the order for time estimates and they were just way off with all the estimates. On top of that, there was no accountability on their end for wait time or messing up the order or really anything. I’m really, really disappointed. I’m a tourist so I probably wasn’t gonna come back here again anyways but I’m just so, so disappointed, 1 and half hours of my life wasted, thanks for nothing.
The coffee here is decent. But the place is poorly maintained. They didn't staff the place sufficiently to keep it clean during peak hours. Their seating is rather stingy, chairs from opposite tables too close to sit comfortably. It saddens me to see the interior so poorly maintained-- things are run down and dirty--considering how much history this building has. The staff isn't friendly, the only one bathroom they have isn't kept clean. Somehow still very crowded at peak hours so they must be doing something right that I'm missing. And I'm sorry, what's up with the tacky Xmas lights and decor still left up in the end of January?!
