Great place! Friendly people, and we also enjoyed a friendly game of pool with the owner!

Bob and Liz from California loved it, my middle name is Arnold, so the daytime waitress gave me a free cuzzy from St. Arnold's Brewery. The crowd gets into the music, the music is always different and not main stream. We bought T-shirts and came back 3 more time. Nice bikers, nice people, nice place. Been to Sturgis and enjoyed this bar as much.

Excellent! We came in right before closing and even though the bartender was almost through with her shift and about to close down for the night.. She still served us and was pleasant about it.

This is a very relaxing place overlooking the water. It's not overcrowded and a great place to unwind.

This bar is close to the beach, its old, its gritty, its open aired, its everything I love about a bar. Wasnt too busy when we went. Bar staff was very kind and service was fast. Beer was cold. Just being able to sit outside with the breeze from the Gulf blowing was incredibly relaxing.

Just to make it clear there is no dining it is a bar. Its quirky, relaxed down to earth local bar. It has amazing views, it is an oasis after a long walk on the beach from our hotel. We have visited everyday of this vacation and the same when we vacationed in Galveston last year. After a couple of visits my wine was already being poured as I walked through the door, that is what I call service. When I first saw it I was not sure about going in for a drink, don't judge a book by its cover. I loved watching the wildlife at the waters edge, the rolling waves and singing a cold one. ENJOY.

I have not been to Woody's in at least a year (thanks to covid-19) and we don't live in town, but when we walked in the bartender recognized us immediately. There is a great view of the Gulf, plenty of beverages, pool table if you are so inclined, and we loved the band. Can't wait to go back!

This place is like a second home! The owner and staff are absolutely excellent. I always leave with a smile and know that I have had a great time! Long live this great dive bar!!!!!!!!

Really cool bar with great local beer on tap. If it's raining there is limited seating as the entire patio has the potential to become soaked. Also, the libe music stage has one of the most amazing back drops, wishing I could extend my stay just for that!

Stopped in to meet a friend for drinks, the lady bartending was super cool, friendly, and attentive. The place has a cool vide, I’d recommend stopping in and having a drink.

An absolutely great experience and a wonderful place to stop by whenever I am in the Galveston Islands probably my favorite bar to come to. It’s really nice and relaxing and has the best view.

McKenna the bartender was great! Great little dive bar to just hang out. They don't serve food but you can bring in your own.

Nice relaxing environment. The Only thing is I'd highly recommend wear bug spray, I'd recommend deep woods off with strong deet content otherwise you get munched on all night.

Woody's is a great bar with beautiful views. We loved it. They were super nice to our pup Tillie. No food, but when we visited, we ordered from a local restaurant and had it delivered.

Couldn't have been happier in my visit there yesterday nice breeze off the ocean wonderful deck to stand on and party on I hear they have bands there on the weekends excellent place parking underneath for the bikes in the shade among the pillars and a very long ramp all the way up to the bar nice old bar and a cigarette machine which I have not seen since I can't remember when all around a very nice place to stay a while and enjoy the people and scenery if this review helps in any way please give me a thumbs up I would appreciate that God bless you and have a wonderful day😎

Woody's, a bike trip worth! Super unique and amazing venue off the shore, a little bit away from the touristy area of Galveston. We LOVE it!!!!!!

We had a good time. The view is very good and the wait staff is friendly it is on stilts and about 25 feet high. They don’t serve food but they have really good drinks. There was a live band while we were there. And it was good and we will go back.

Bartender Sarah was so great! My fiance and I were nervous about coming into a smaller bar as a lesbian couple & were worried we would be treated dismissively, but it was in fact the opposite! Sarah showed us around the back deck (which was so spacious btw) and made top notch drinks. We really enjoyed coming here and may make it our new close to home bar! Thank you for making our first time worth coming back!

Love Woodys it's an authentic beach dive on the waterfront. Don't over dress and bring a jacket if it's cold there are some doors but it mostly open air

Smoked Old Fashioned, best cocktail I ever had. Choose cherry wood. $12. Y'all got to try one! Way more smoke when it first gets served. Picture doesn't do its presentation justice. Such a nice, sweet n smoky infusion that wasn't overbearing, but balanced perfectly with the fresh orange peel, dark cherry, bitters, and whiskey. Nice large, slow-melting single ice cube. Awesome service, cool regulars, chill atmosphere. Can't beat being on the beach!👌

I think it’s important to say that Woodys is a bar only. No food. I am not a drinker, But I could sit at this bar and sip a glass of water all day long. They have music and cold drinks. Very down to earth. It’s the best place to grab a drink and enjoy the waves and warm breeze. There is a lovely Overlook to enjoy watching some fish, crabs, and birds in nature. We came here multiple times during our stay on the Island and I will return here anytime I come back to Galveston.

Best place in Galveston for a beer and a view. They don't have a kitchen but the staff was very accommodating in regards to recommending delivery restaurants. Great people, great vibe, great view.

Showed up on a Sunday after being told that they have live music every Sunday... Only to get there and realize it was cancelled without warning. It's got a biker bar vibe but everyone was really friendly-- as a young lady I never worried about my safety at all. It's nice and open, gets a great breeze, and has a view of the beach. Just a heads up though, you can smoke everywhere, so if you don't like the smell of cigarettes then you may not enjoy this place. But since it's outside, it's not too bad, especially if there's a good breeze.

This was a great open air bar with beach views and a good local beer selection. If you are there at the right time, sunset views are beautiful as well. I enjoyed the relaxed vibe and will go back next time I'm in Galveston.

Surprisingly Texan, very local. If ya smoke you came to the right place. They carry local Galveston Island brewery beer. Pool table, and fantastic veiw of the Gulf of Mexico. Unfortunately it was a very odd event that we had heavy fog when o wanted to take pictures from there deck, but good news was it was 80° and there was a nice breeze.

Dive bar we have made a staple for our LSR visits to the Island. The people are friendly, the live music is better than average. The drink prices are reasonable and its off the Strand and Sea wall. If your looking for a relaxing evening during LSR the vibe here is great.

Ok for a place to hang out in an open-air place to hang out and enjoy adult beverages. Seemed more like a treehouse than a bar. But, it drew a decent crowd of bikers during the rally for being several miles away from the main action. We wanted to ride a little away from the masses, so it filled the bill. Kudos to their parking attendants, they really controlled the lot. There was no food served by Woodys, but there was a food truck there. I think they should've offered a few portapotties the mens room was often overwhelmed. I heard many of the ladies comment upon seeing the long line of men waiting for the restroom. Most said the world is upside down here.

Cool bar right by the water with lots of shaded bike parking. Decently priced beers for the location, you're not paying nightclub prices. Small inside area by the bar but the overly spacious deck is what Woody's is all about. Live daytime music during the warmer months with spectacular views of the waves and sunset. Relax, unwind, and put yourself in a flip-flop state of mind. (just remember there's no food served here)

GREAT location and ocean views. The pool table and games are fun. But I had some not ideal interactions with staff. Maybe it was just a bad day but left a bad taste in my mouth.

My husband and i went here for a few drinks after hanging at the beach. Staff was friendly, clean. Band was ok, would of been better if they had food, may have stayed longer and bought more beer. Maybe look into a smoker or food truck, since no kitchen.

It's a great place to hang out with a bartender that will not only remember who you are but interact with you as an I individual. However, they still allow smoking. Not a fan. Love the staff. Love the fact that Guinness is available. Just hate smoking. HATE IT.

Great bar, but that’s it. It’s a just an open concept tavern on the ocean. No food and not really family friendly… but if you’re with a crew of friends or out on your iron horse or just lookin to tie one on at the beach, this place is for you.

Pretty cool biker joint. No food. But the bartender ignored us as we stood waiting to order. She just chatted with someone in the corner. Then acted busy asking everyone who was seated if they needed anything before finally coming to us.

This place is a run down bar. It has potential if the owners would put a little update and repairs.

Good prices on drinks but pay cash as you go. We had a total of 5 drinks on our tab when done , bartender tried to overcharge us by 5 drinks since the one paying was the drunk guy and still didn't apply the slot machine credit to it when she corrected it. If we weren't there to correct it that would have been an extra $40 over and above our drinks and 20% tip. There were 9 people in the entire place so no way she could have been confused. Sad because I love coming here when in town but that attempted rip off ruined it for us going forward, and it was done after we tipped $18 on 6 drinks previous to the final bill.

Never go there again. Seemed very racist & the bar tender called me a Yankee & Spoke highly of the Confederate Flag. I understand the war, but that flag for most is a racist symbol and has been for a while now.

I enjoy giving a good review, but just left this place. All the taps were inop. The only bottle beer they have are the corporate beers. You know Bud, Bud light, Miller, Miller light, Modelo and so on. I was hopeing for a local beer or and IPA. Sorry, none of those guys. No luck, so I passed. I asked for an Margarita for my Wife. She honest to god poured maybe 3/4 shot of REALLY cheep Tequila like liquor and what may have been half a shot at best of Tripple sec, filled the glass with Mr Ts mix and ice. Took a few sips put in on the counter and left. So if you like cheep bottled beer with a nice view. This is your place. P.S this place is called a bar. NO its not, its a palce to get a beer . They have bottles of liquor on the shelf, but if you cant make a simple margarita I'll pass. 2 stars are for the view.

Went in to have an Old Fashion that I heard so much about. The bartender didn't know how to make it but said the owner did. Apparently he was too busy on the phone to help her out. He basically blew us off so I just ordered whiskey on the rocks. It wasn't long before he walked by disinterested in his clientele. Over priced drinks and a crappy owner!

Warning ⛔️ didn’t feel safe! We left. This is just a dive bar. This place should be reported to authorities and shut down immediately!

Just left that bar and it has to be one of the most awkward and worst experiences ever. It was me and two of my buddies and as soon as we get there my buddy wants to get a drink so me and the other guy go to the outside balcony and wait for him because we didn't want anything yet. So my buddy comes back and tells us that they won't serve him unless the bartender (an older blonde woman) saw ALL of our IDs. I thought it was a little strange but I didn't mind because it's their establishment so we went up there and showed all of our IDs. After that I could feel the tension in the place as if we weren't wanted there. She looked at my ID and it seemed like she didn't believe it was me so I showed her my DL and still she looks at it uneasy so then I pull out my military ID, and does not even take one single look at it and gives me my stuff back. She kept looking at us in a way that made me uncomfortable and I hate and wish to think that it was because me and one of my other buddies are Hispanic but I honestly do think that's what it was. I don't mean to disrespect but I feel that it should be addressed because we really were looking forward to having some drinks there but after my buddies first drink we left. On our way down the stairs the female bartender comes after us and asks for the glass that my buddy drank out of as if we stole it. That really almost pissed me off but I kept my composure and we told her politely that it was on the table after that she said thank you in a sarcastic way but was the nicest thing she said the whole time there. So for the people who read this, you can decide for yourself if that was fair treatment or not but we felt that it wasn't and I wouldn't waste my time to write this unless it really bothered me and my buddies. Woodys get your act together.

The bartender was SO rude! She seemed irritated that we were even there. We show up to their bar bringing them business and they act like they don't even want to make money. The place is also really nasty inside. Pretty view though!

Don’t understand why it says open till 2 if doors were locked and bartended didn’t care at 11pm

Be careful using your card here especially during the Rally. Which i should add is one of our regular stops. I was charged twice and watch the bartender swipe my card twice. Upon mentioning it to her she said here is a receipt and our phone # call if you see 2 charges from us. As of today, It has yet to be resolved. Left several messages for Mike the owner to no avail. The bank will not let me dispute because the amounts are different. One amount has a larger tip added than my original tip.

Bartenders were unfriendly. Bathrooms were extremely nasty. The only thing that was cool about this bar was the location.

Raina the bartender was very drunk. Unhelpful. Rude. Not going back here after being a fan of Woody’s since 2018 (Overpriced drinks) Messed up Tabs. Very Lame experience.

We discovered this little gem two years ago and it became our spot in Galveston. It's far enough away from the obnoxious tourist areas to be super relaxed. We told the bartender (who was excellent) we had driven 10 hours to watch the Superbowl at this bar, just like last year. When the game started the owner (always a good sign when the owner is drinking in the place) wouldn't give us sound on the game because I guess he wanted the background jukebox going while he drank. I should mention there were only 2 other people in the whole place besides the drunk owner and the very nice bartender. We've recommended the place to several friends heading down here. Never again, and we won't be back ourselves. It's really a shame. There's a help wanted sign up. Go figure...

Just witnessed a bartended basically steal, money from patron! Patron gave $20 for 1 shot to fellow patron, recieved $1 in change, when he and others questioned it she laughed and walked away! Patrons be-aware! Numerous others actually told her truth/questioned her/ called her out, and she was aweful! As a result lost numerous customers as a result! At least 6 patrons left, your night time bartender is a thief! Earlier bartender was fantastic!

Love this place, but the bartender charged me $19.00 out of a $ 20, for 1 shot of Goldschlegger, when asking about money, she claimed I gave her a $ $10, and walked away. So watch, and keep track of your money when being charged. When I later asked her what that cost, she said she didn't know! So watch your $ !
