This was my first time at this location. I had a wonderful experience. The oysters were very good and fresh. The service was excellent. I never had to go chase anybody down for anything. And they were very patient. They didn't bring all the food at once trying to rush me out. I did not make a reservation because I went when they opened at 11:00 a.m., but it got packed pretty quickly. So I do recommend making a reservation. I can't wait to go here again!
Amazing customer service from the manager Erick and our waitress Jolee. When having trouble looking for a salmon option she was kind enough to point me to all the salmon options and when I asked what was best she gave her recommendation and did not miss! When my girlfriend orders her meal she asked for it to not be spicy and Jolee and Erick both assured us that it would be just how she asked. Both very friendly and allowed us to chat and show them love. Great atmosphere aswell. So many smiling faces from all staff and customers.
Great time overall at this Pappadeauex. You can tell this restaurant is well taken care of and the workers take pride in their work. Food was made well, and the scratch dessert was delicious.
This is one of my favorite seafood restaurants! Makayla and Boston were super nice and helpful! The food here is amazing, especially the Red Snapper and Crab Claws. I highly recommend!
Amazing food, great service. We go every time we're in the area!
My family and I were visiting from North Carolina and made a reservation ahead of time. From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and welcoming. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, which made it perfect for our family dinner. Jameel was our server, and he truly took great care of us. He was attentive, patient, and handled our table of nine with no issues at all. Managing nine different orders without missing a beat is no small task, and he did it effortlessly. The garlic bread was amazing, and my shrimp and catfish fillet were fried to perfection. Everything came out hot and flavorful. We had a great experience overall and would definitely return the next time we’re in town.
Flew in for lunch with cuzn. Quick drive from the airport. Couldn’t do the 1 in the airport because they wouldn’t let an active military member be a guest. So we drove to the nearby location. Cocktails & convo! Food of course was amazingly delicious especially that special dish of SeaBass. Pricing the same in every state. Service was phenomenal (Destiny I believe was her name). Definitely will return.
One of the better restaurants I've ever been to. Over a period of about 10 years I've been to this particular restaurant three times and two other Pappadeaux's three times before. They have a standard that is way up there and impressive. I understand they won't even hire servers with tattoos showing. Our server on Saturday, Amaan, was fabulous. As sharp as his dress and hair was It didn't even scratch the surface on how good His service was. The food is impeccably done, well seasoned and very tasty!! If you have a salt issue you may want to be careful! The floor manager was a hoot and showed us his Texas Tech shirt under his formal outfit. Of course we were there for the championship game which Texas Tech won! So it was a very special event anyway, made even better by our experience at Pappadeaux. Thank you for what your organization does to go over the top in quality and service! Second to none!! I spoke to someone at the Gaylord Texan in food and beverage and she was telling me how even among folks in food and beverage Pappadeaux set a high bar!! She was one of the best servers I have ever had also So her second on what I had experienced at Pappadeaux was meaningful!!
I have to say, it has been years since I've been in a Pappadeaux's. Mainly, because there are far few in between. Please open up more locations! Preferably in Rockwall. We were greeted with smiles and the hostess promptly sat us. The atmosphere was very elegant and clean. Destiny is by far the best server in house. She deserves a promotion! Extremely professional, courteous and attentative. The food came out in a timely manner in which the presentation and quality was barnone. We truly didn't want to be rushed and make it a memorable experience for my birthday and first timers for my wife and 13 year old daughter. I can't thank you enough for today. Only issue, BRING BACK ZYDECO BAND AND ADD MORE LOCATIONS.
I had an amazing dining experience at Pappadeaux, thanks to our incredible server, Joel. From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm smile and an upbeat attitude that set the tone for the entire meal. Joel was attentive without being intrusive, always anticipating what we needed before we even had to ask. She knew the menu inside and out, offering great recommendations and making sure our food came out exactly as ordered. Every interaction felt genuine—she truly cared that we were enjoying our time. It’s rare to find someone who can balance professionalism with such a friendly, personal touch, but Joel nailed it perfectly. Thanks to her, our meal went from good to unforgettable. Pappadeaux is lucky to have someone like Joel representing their brand—I’ll definitely be coming back and asking for her by name!
Makayla was our server tonight. 💯She practically ensured our experience was A+. She was friendly, kind, attentive and kept on refilling our drinks and checking on us. Thank you for making our experience enjoyable. Location is great. Prices reflect how big their portions are. The atmosphere is great and alive. Even my granddaughters request to come eat here. And if you are a veteran like us, Pappadeux do give military discount❤️
Yvette was absolutely amazing she was a true server. She definitely loves what she does. She took the time to review the entire menu with us since we were not from here and have never been to this restaurant. The food and presentation was astonishing. I wish they had one of these in Orlando Florida.
Excellent service by Ms. Ivette; a true hospitality Pro! The Gumbo was magnificent. The Redfish Special was good as well. Oysters ok. In our group of 6 everyone liked their appetizers and entrees. The Front Outside Hostess, Amelia was welcoming. In summary a great experience for our 3 generations family.
Excellent location. A bit pricey for some of the dishes but excellent service from the entire staff
We had reservations but still had to wait about 30 minutes at 7:00 on a Friday evening. We forgot though that it was Mardi Gras week and the start of Lent. The food was really good, exactly what we've come to expect over the years. They were very accommodating of my gluten free diet. The atmosphere was nice, if not a little loud, but it was very crowded. Despite them being very busy, our server was very attentive. We got cocktails and wine, which was as expected and timely. This has become one of our go to favorites for nice, semi casual dinners.
4.3 stars. Been a year or so since eating here but couldn’t wait to have my wife try their Knife & Fork Cobb Salad with Shrimp & Jumbo Lump Crab ($31.95). We ordered two of the salads and one Fried Calamari & Octopus ($18.95). Food was good and service excellent. After tax and generous tip, lunch was a stiff $110 though. Ouch! Definitely a special occasion place to eat.
Great Food and Friendly service. Work friends went to dinner after work. The only reason I gave it a 2 in service is when they split our group in two tables, they forgot our order. Our friends on one table was done eating including desert and we have not received our food yet. But when we did get it it was very good. The manager did take off 3 dinners from our table.
My mom and I love this Pappadeaux location so much. We’ve never had a bad meal here and the service has always been exceptional. It’s a little tricky getting here from the Ft. Worth area but well worth it. Because it’s off HWY 114 it doesn’t have as much charm and character as a restaurant nestled in the community would, so 4/5 stars for that. Otherwise 5 overall. The chopped salad with grilled salmon is my favorite. But with so many tasty choices it’s hard to go wrong with anything on their menu.
I was sooooooo disappointed 😞. We ordered the calamari for starters and it was good. I ordered the filet and it wasn't cooked right so I had to send it back. By the time it arrived I had lost my appetite and my date had already ate his. The steak was zapped in the microwave. It was cooked well done, medium and medium well. When I ordered medium well. No sincere apology or sense of urgency to make it right. I had high hopes, usually you can never go wrong with Pappadeaux. 😕
Love the food and cocktails here! However, my only complaint is the noise! A small table for three and we had to scream at each other to have a conversation. There are so many tables crammed in the dining room that it’s not a place I would recommend having a date or any occasion where you want to talk to others. White table cloth restaurant with packed bar vibes. Would give 5/5 of the noise wasn’t so bad and I didn’t feel so packed in like a sardine!
3.6 rating at this location.. Had appetizers and lunch entrees this weekend.. spent about $100 -service was great.. calamari appetizer was a good start.. The lunch combination crawfish and the mardi gras pasta had great presentation . the flavors were decent . Ill try something different next time
I do recommend making a reservation on-line before going to Pappadeux, as we are seated more quickly with reservations. We were disappointed with Pappadeux in Grapevine. Although our server was friendly, service still lacked consistency. As for the food, the baguette and whipped butter were perfection. Unfortunately, my gumbo was thin, watery and too spicy. It had the dark color of roux, but not the deep flavor or viscosity of a proper roux. There were absolutely no traces of okra, celery or onion, which the manager surmised was because I ordered a cup instead of a bowl of gumbo. Yet, as someone who makes homemade gumbo, I know it is unusual to ladle a cup of properly prepared gumbo without any okra seeds, celery or onion. If the ingredients are balanced and plentiful, every ladle should have elements of those ingredients- even if the okra pods cook down. There was, however, a finger sized piece of green bell pepper, as if it were placed on top of the broth along with the 3 shrimp and piece of crab. The large piece of bell pepper was out of balance and overwhelming. I know from eating at other Pappadeux locations that it is possible to get a well balanced cup of Gumbo with thick tasty roux and all the vegetables visibly included. The okra and the trinity all add to the viscosity of the gumbo even if file is no longer used in the dish. They also add dimensions of flavor and make the gumbo tastier. Proper gumbo is a time consuming endeavor. The cup I was served was not worth the $12-13 per cup. For entrees: I ordered the wild caught red snapper with jumbo lump crab. The three small pieces of crab were not worth the extra $7 thus I recommend ordering it naked and saving $7. The red snapper was delicious, cooked to perfection and seemed to be a whole fish although it was completely skinned, deboned and cooked in pieces. The side of sauteed spinach was fine also. My husband ordered the Crispy Salmon with jumbo lump crab, shrimp and scallop. It had one of each on top of the salmon steak. The side of manchego pureed potatoes just tasted like thinned out whipped potatoes. No detectable manchego cheese. Unfortunately his salmon was cold and raw. The sear on it was negligible but the manager was so condescending when I complained about the gumbo, my husband said he would just take the salmon back to the hotel room and microwave it. It actually went in the trash since the hotel room didn’t have a microwave and we had to leave for airport at 4:30 AM the next morning. $40 in the hotel trash bin. We finished the meal off with banana pudding in a mason jar. It was delicious, even though it only had 3 banana slices. The homemade custard, real heavy whipping cream and the homemade vanilla wafers all but made up for the missing banana slices. The strawberry on top was pretty but didn’t enhance the flavor of the dessert at all. We would have preferred more banana! We will not be returning to this location! We highly recommend the Pappadeux in Norcross, Georgia if you are in the😴Atlanta area. Norcrosse is a beautiful little walk about town and worth a day trip that includes lunch or dinner at Pappadeux. We will try other DFW Pappadeux locations on future trips.
We went there on January 3rd after choosing PAPPADEAUX over hibachi because we just wanted to get something to share due to needs to put something in our stomachs after a long day. It was around 9 p.m. and upon arriving it was almost empty with minimal people (8) at the bar. So we decided to take a seat there. Soloman (bartender) greeted us eventually. The other bartender was serving a concoction to the lady to the left o us. He talked nonstop. The entire time we heard the lady speaking bad of another bartender who wasn’t present. Soloman took our drink order and indulged in conversation with the other bartender and the lady. We ordered our food and the garlic bread. It came out warm but not hot as usual. After waiting for awhile we didn’t complain. We kept saying to ourselves where is our food after having to still hear the three o them converse. We ordered the Pappadeau Seafood platter with the extra shrimp and crawfish (not our go to) but was wanting to share something since we didn’t have big appetites. It finally came and was cold. The manager came out and made it right. We barely was checked on by Soloman so I got the attention of another bartender I recognized when I have come in the past and he took my drink request with no problem even though he was at the end on the well. Soloman continued to talk with the lady and keep a full blown conversing while another bartender attended to her. I was too tired and in disbelief to complain. I am not an attention seeker. Just give me good service. You had no one to attend to at the bar really. Imagine if the bar was full. I have experienced this in the past with this location which is near our home. It’s hit or miss with the food and service. By the time we got the hot food our appetites were gone. We ended up taking it home to not even want to reheat it the next day. So it was a waste of money and time.
