Food - Service - Atmosphere… 10/5 SUCH a nice place! Our server was so kind and the food was comforting, well seasoned, and a good portion size. Definitely come here and try this place. I highly recommend the steak spaetzel, but all the food was delicious. Also get the homemade sodas you will not be disappointed. Das essen war kostlich!
We dined at the Harmony Inn on a Saturday and the entire experience was fantastic. Located in Historic Harmony this Inn was one of the first liscened establishments in Butler County. The menu is large but not overwhelming. As with any German food the portions are large and filling. Our serves was polite attentive and took care of us with a warm charm. I would highly recommend any dish here because you won't be dissapointed. Can not wait to come back for another fine meal.
II came here a couple of weeks ago and wasn't disappointed with anything. Our server Gwen was quick to give my party attention, was friendly, and accurate and I would ask for her if possible. I started with the Frickadillen Meatballs and they were seasoned perfectly and most. Delicious! 3 of our party of 4 ordered each of the variety of schnitzel and none were disappointed. One even said that her wished his mom and dad were alive to enjoy the schnitzel here. They grew up with schnitzel and would have loved it. Lastly we split a piece of Pumpkin Spice Cake which was perfect in appearance and taste. I will definitely be back and often! Thanks Gwen!
If you enjoy great food in a comfortable, clean atmosphere with wonderful service, this place is for you. Nothing fancy..just truly good food, great beer, and a welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of spot where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a fun evening.
I have been going to North Country in Slippery Rock for years which is AMAZING so I finally decided to head to Harmony Inn! I have now been twice and wow, what a gem! It’s tucked away in a quiet area and the restaurant itself has so much character. Most recently we sat on the front patio but the outside area in general is a very popular area, including the outside bar! The menu is large with many options for everyone and all of the staff that I interacted with were very friendly and knowledgeable. I can’t wait to go back again!
We had an amazing time, enjoyed the food tremendously, and were very impressed by the service. We ordered the meatballs appetizer, the jägerschnitzel, and the salmon and enjoyed some really good beer... It was so delicious, all of it. Visit this place if you get a chance! You won't regret it!
What a nice lunch on the porch!! The Brussel sprouts were so delicious, we ate them before I could get the photo. The catfish was amazing and the strawberry salad was excellent. The strawberry vinaigrette dressing is worth a try on anything. I highly recommend a visit.
Such a quaint town and this Inn was next to perfect for bringing our Chocolate Labrador (retired Service Dog). Food was better than regular tavern food. I had the beet salad on arugula and it was top notch with a potato pancake served with delish apple chutney. My husband loved the wings and sauces. Beverages were diverse, outdoor bar area relaxing and our server was top notch. Harmony had just hosted the creators and filming for the upcoming box office movie about Milton Hershey and his wife Catherine in the early days. Loved feeling the history created while we were visiting our daughter in the area who btw works for Hershey Foods!
1st time here. The bartender helped me decide on a light, crispy cider with a bite. it was delightful. The bbq burger was incredible and perfectly cooked med rare. This place has so much charm, its absolutely beautiful inside and out. I especially loved the stained glass lights. looking forward to my next visit!
A very very cool old house with an awesome restaurant inside. The food is pretty delicious, maybe a little pricey, but it's worth it for the very cool atmosphere. Seems to be the staple of Harmony, PA so if you're in town definitely eat here! And then check out all the very cool shops and cute downtown area afterwards. Can't recommend enough.
Visited with friends while in town & greatly enjoyed our experience. The atmosphere is amazing as it’s a historic hotel that’s been renovated while maintaining its old school 1850’s era charm. Service was friendly and our waiter gave us some great recommendations. We started with the fried pickles which were a great blend of spicy and sweet with a super crunchy batter. For mains, we had the Bacon + Brussels Spaetzle & Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. Both were tasty, freshly prepared and portions were sizable making our meals a solid value. The Nashville Hot Chicken could’ve been hotter, but it still was a very good sandwich. Overall, we enjoyed a great meal & would definitely come back whenever we’re in the area ✌🏻
This gem has it all. Lively vibe with lots of live music. The best cool old Inn restaurant building. The place is haunted. Outstanding service. Great menu selection.
Great dining experience. I happened upon this place when passing through the area and looking for something for dinner off of the interstate. It is not far from the interstate but not really downtown either. It is a unique dining experience - in a very good way. Plenty of outdoor dining space (heated) as well as good space indoors with history. The prime rib was some of the best I've had anywhere. I was very pleased all around with the food, service, and atmosphere. I would highly recommend giving it a try!
Both inside and out, the Harmony Inn is a gorgeous place to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening. Service was great. We only got appetizers because we were eating dinner elsewhere (ended up being awful…should’ve eaten dinner at Harmony Inn), but they were very good. My fall margarita was absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to go back!
This place has undergone a great transformation after being picked up and reinvigorated by North Country. My family, my parents and my brother's family went there to celebrate multiple late May birthdays, and everyone had a great time. For starters, the service was wonderful, even with a very busy restaurant and bar area, as well as dealing with the 5 children in our party. I got the Schnitzel Shawarma, which was a fun and surprising bit of fusion cuisine. And with North Country supplying most of the beers on tap, it was a nice experience all around. Definitely worth the stop when in or around the quaint throwback community of Harmony.
The Harmony Inn is always well worth a trip for their incredible food. The Beef on Weck is my favorite sandwich with a salted bun, tender meat, and a homemade horse radish sauce. The fries are so crispy you could bounce a quarter off them. I've never been disappointed with one of the sours, with today's draft Bananas Foster. My normal dinner is the steak spaetzel, which is fantastic every time with homemade noodles.
We were there with a large group of 19 people. I believe everybody there enjoyed their dinners. My husband had the Cod dinner with french fries and red cabbage. He said his dinner was delicious except he doesn’t eat cabbage, so I ate that for him. I liked the red cabbage. A friend of ours had the cheeseburger made with cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. It came with french fries, but he had requested potato pancakes which he got later. He liked everything about his dinner once he got the potato pancakes. I had the tomahawk pork chop dinner, which was delicious. The tomahawk pork chop was very tender and cooked perfectly. I finished up my meal with the cheesecake, which my husband and I shared, it was delicious.
They have lots of different Craft Beer on tap, an outside bar with outside seating. They are dog friendly with a dog menu and their food is delicious!!
Delicious food complemented by attentive, friendly staff and a cozy, relaxed atmosphere with historic charm. The potato pancake appetizer was paired with a fruit chutney and was large enough for at least 2 people to share. The "Girl from the North Country" burger and the "Beef on Weck" sandwich were both delicious, with both featuring quality meat, fresh buns, and a good portion of well-seasoned fries on the side. Prices felt fair for the quality of the dishes. Looking forward to returning!
Love this place. Dog friendly. Our waitress brought my fat dog water, with ice. Huge outdoor space. The outside was spacious and comfortable with lots of shade from the hot day. Lots of great German food and the upstairs is supposedly haunted..... They have live music on the weekends and I believe on Monday nights. The patio has a huge fireplace and patio heaters to prolong the season and dine comfortably. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area.
I visited The Harmony Inn 5 or 6 years ago for lunch and was very impressed with the food and the setting in this beautiful historic home\Inn. I’ve been wanting to visit for dinner with my wife but we are a little over an hour away. We finally pulled the trigger and drove to Harmony for dinner at the Inn. My wife was impressed with the building as soon as we drove up and parked. We sat at the beautiful copper topped bar and had a before dinner beverage. The service was fast and friendly. When it was time to be setted for our reservation, they were going to take us upstairs but I asked if we could have the first floor near the X-mas tree. They were so nice and accommodated my request. A+. We had Brezeln (pretzel) as an app with beer cheese and Black Bear mustard, they were wonderful. For dinner my wife chose the Brussels and Bacon Spaetzle and I had the Chef Brett’s Schnitzel, we both totally enjoyed our meals. The service was excellent and the food was delicious but seeing the house\Inn that was built in the mid 1800’s is worth the visit even if we wouldn’t have eaten. (but definitely eat) Our only regret is we didn’t save room for dessert. Oh well that will give us another reason to visit again. This restaurant is a must try.
Cool little place to stop as we were on our way to Pittsburgh for a teddy swims concert. It was scorching hot on the Harley and we needed to cool off.
Wow. First time to historic Harmony. Amazing establishment with a lot of history and great food. Innovative savory dishes at a great price point. Inside dining atmosphere is unique historical and very comfortable. Patio is very well done with its own bar and a great beer selection. Lots of innovative drinks all reasonably priced. Highly recommended for lunch or supper.
Harmony Inn is a lovely restaurant in historic Harmony, located in a large and beautiful old house. It was once an independent restaurant that was popular among locals for years until it closed (not sure why). Local Slippery Rock residents and owners of North Country Brewing Co. and the restaurant of the same name bought the property and renovated it to house their second restaurant. They kept the original name and the menu leans more toward classic German fare along with some staples of the North Country kitchens. They have a wider selection of beers than North Country. The draft list is a mile long, including North Country's rotating craft beers, other locally brewed options, and some familiar beers from larger national craft brewers. They also have liquor selections for those who prefer mixed drinks. The atmosphere is great. There is a separate room that houses the bar where they often have live music when the weather is bad, and a beautiful patio and outside bar where the live music is when the weather is good. They frequently participate in Harmony's community oriented historic and small business events and have happenings going nearly every week. Parking is a terror, but it's worth trying to find a spot if you can get in.
Stopped in on a Tuesday evening. It just happened to be “wing night”. The food was fantastic and the turn around time from ordering to table was quick. We sat at the bar and our server was Brooke who was so kind and friendly. We will definitely be back again.
Great German cuisine at reasonable prices with great atmosphere! Very large portions and excellent service!
The best Cider I have had- the Donut!!! I will be hoping to locate in Texas. My only comment is it is a bit chilly indoors and not winter yet. But always a great visit!
Christmas get together with friends and everyone enjoyed their meals. John our waiter was very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be returning again 👍
In small town PA, it’s not everyday you run across a place like this. We went with a group of 8 on a Saturday afternoon after a hike at Moraine State Park. Their food was very very nicely prepared. We got the fried pickles, the pretzel, and potato pancakes for appetizers. The pretzel did not disappoint. We had schnitzel, shroobens, house salad, and wings. All were a hit. Tons of draft beverages to choose from. The staff were courteous, showed considerable hospitality, and had great timing. The atmosphere was lovely too. It’s casual, so was excellent for 2 families with toddlers, but in a beautiful historic home, so enjoyable for the adult only couple.
The menu offers a wide choice of tasty dishes for every appetite. Staff is always friendly! The atmosphere whether in the beautiful downstairs or upstairs main dining rooms or in the bar area, is always comfortable and relaxed. It's one of my favorite restaurants!
Great place! The food… FANTASTIC! The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere was incredible. We felt like we were visiting old friends. They were having a Yule celebration, so we stayed after our reservation and spent time by the fire and met some really nice people. We can’t wait to go back again!
Went for my son's birthday. Food was good, but bar service was terrible. We sat at bar for 10 minutes and bartender completely ignored us. Waitress was great. Seems like they could use more wait staff for sure. The homemade apple strudel was top notch. Update-after initial review, management contacted for feedback. Happy they take an interest in improving customer satisfaction.
We don’t go here often enough but when we do it never disappoints. Food is always good and it’s just a great vibe. Their schnitzel is probably the best I’ve had outside of Germany. They make a good amount of their food in house and you can tell. Great selection of good local beer and handmade drinks.
First timers last weekend. We definitely chose to make the drive from New Castle for the music, (the Cause), but the food and service made us real glad we did. Fried pickles appetizer, I had the beef on weck, wife had the fire schnitzel, and ALL of it was top-notch. Kind of pricey, but portions were great and quality was worth it, and we'll be back. Our server and the hostess who sat us were great.
Beautiful cozy restaurant in a historic building. Loved the ambiance and quiet atmosphere we had in the upstairs dining room. The food was excellent. I enjoyed the Kaese Spaetzle for an entree and Strudel for dessert. Both were delicious. They have fun seasonal mocktails along with their regular selections.
If you love a historical setting and the phrase if walls could talk speaks to you then this is your place. Perfect for a date or gathering with a few family or friends, lots of drinks to choose from and the food tastes like grandma used to make. Dont take my word for it, go see for yourself....be sure to go hungry!
Made reservations at The Harmony Inn on a glowing recommendation from a trusted friend. Very glad I listened. It was a cold day in February, but the place has a great outdoor patio area, that we will definitely be back to check out in the spring. We were seated upstairs. Service was friendly and attentive. We started off with the meatball appetizer, which was done in a mustard cream sauce. The prime rib and the Chicken Spaetzle were both delicious, as were the sides, roasted red cabbage and cole. For desert we tried the bread pudding which was good, but not as good as the apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. Cant wait till the next visit. Still quite a few things on the menu I'm dying to try, but will probably always end the meal with that amazing strudel.
Popped in here for lunch recently with a group. They were accommodating and found us a table upstairs. Our server was friendly and attentive. We shared the pretzel as an app and the beer cheese is super tasty. We were big fans of the brussels and bacon spaetzle and for my main I had the Black bear burger. Burger itself was good but there was no cheese and the cabbage was a bit too sweet.
Haven't been here before, didn't eat so no rating. Parking is a little tight but they have a hilarious sign to remind you to "park pretty". Literally. 😂 Nice crowd, saw live music. Will return and would recommend..
For my friends birthday we wanted to go somewhere new but wanted a steak. We heard good things about this place and wanted to check it out. There is so much history here at the Harmony Inn and you can feel it when you walk through the doors. Its an old house that was converted into a restaurant. It has a nice patio for the summer and a nice size bar inside. Not too many tables though. I ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes and the asparagus were spot on. Honestly couldn't tell you which one I loved more. The Steak didn't have too much flavor but it was still really good. Then for dessert we got a Gluten Free Chocolate cake piece to share. That was super rich and tasty. My friends got the wings and they said they were delicious and then he got a Chocolate cake as well. The service was pretty good and the waitstaff was very friendly. I'll definitely be back to try some other things too!
The staff was very friendly, the rooms are clean, it’s pet friendly, the price is reasonable, and we went for a lovely walk downtown (it takes about 15 minutes). It was very quaint ❤️
Restaurant in a historic building, great location in historic Harmony. They have outside and inside seating. Inside there are various rooms, to pick from and the bar area. We sat in the high top in the bar area and the bar staff took great care of us. The menu is good and they even have GF buns and bread. Very relaxed atmosphere with lots of history. We will be back for sure.
Quite the beer selection . Wahoo, outdoor dining is Open! Spring is upon us. Wonderful German food selection. Looking for something different and delicious, Harmony Inn is the place to check out. The history and decor is wonderful. Parking can be a challenge. Gluten free menu items are available.
The food was delicious we had the jagerschnitzel and the salmon also a pretzel macaroni and cheese and a burger. I loved the horseradish sauce for the pretzel. The macaroni and cheese was lacking in flavor. But everything else was delicious.
Comfort food with an Ameriano pub-like flair. Historic building in a must visit cute town. I recommend the potato pancake 🥔. Good variety of tasty and refreshing beers 🍻. My favorite are the fruit beers. Service seemed short staffed, but all friendly. Recommendations; Book a table in advance online. Try a beer flight.
Have not stopped by for awhile due to parking issues.today we had the hot spuced apple cider with whiskey. It was very good. Got a couple of appetizers that were very tasty. Service was very good. An enjoyable short stop.
The food was excellent, everything all four of us had was very good, Prime Rib, Shrimp Medlyand a burger was exu. Our waiter was sun par, rarely stopped at table and didn't clear anything.
Food was delicious, though some of the options are pricey for what they are. Excellent variety of beers on tap. Server Alex was friendly, attentive, and quick with refills.
This place is really nice to go to. Seems like a popular place as well. The service was very attentive and the food was very good. I bought a little bit of an expensive meal, hoping to take it home and eat it the next day. It seems that the cardboard to go container doesn’t like pastas and the pasta end up sticking and absorbing into the cardboard. They Definitely need to switch it up and buy different to go containers so the food doesn’t get ruined.
Underwhelmed. Spätzle was bland. Cabbage was tasty but lukewarm. Would probably go back in the summer for a beer and hamburger. Not representative of good German food.
