It’s more of a take out place. But the food is the most legit Chinese American kind of food that I grew up with. A dying breed to find it and have it be this good. Not gourmet, just straight up, good old school take out Chinese food.

D & Y Kitchen has been around in the Five Towns area for a long time (well over 20 years I believe) and their food has remained consistently delicious and attentively well-prepared and presented. You can tell when a chef takes pride in his menu, dishes and culinary skills. It is a friendly, small take-out establishment with a couple of tables to sit at while you wait for your food... but delivery is a reliable option as well. My husband & I recently ordered some meals and I can happily say each dish was a delight! Nothing disappointed! The portions are generous & well-priced. The quality of ingredients is very high. Most importantly though, each and every menu item we tried was cooked to perfection and put satiated smiles on our faces! Yum! My husbsnd particularly enjoyed his large, crispy chicken wings and fragrant, peppery, mushroom-abundant hot & sour soup. I've become addicted to their saucy spare-rib tips and lobster fried rice! The perfectly cooked noodle soups are delicious too and brimming with bright, fresh vegetables, thick (I chose udon) rice noodles with good chew and last, but not least, tender pieces of meat carefully arranged & placed on top. Nothing was too salty or under or overly seasoned or spiced. Oh! And I tried their substantial steamed pork dumplings the last time we ordered and they were fantastic! Great satisfying chewy texture to the wrapping with a savory-delicious hidden-treasure dob of pork filling inside. The dipping sauce on the side had a subtle full-flavored tang to it and quickly became addictive! (Next time, I will definitely request an additional small container) We look forward to trying new menu offerings each time we order from D & Y Kitchen. We honestly think it's a gem! (Oops! Now the secret's out ;)

Best sesame chicken in years. Also nice looking ribs. Didn't give me any dried out knubs. The lady at the window was kind and the price not too bad either. They gained a new customer.

I have to tell you I have been trying all the local Chinese restaurants since Covid and nothing has been even edible. It’s been pointing and every time I try another so I won’t mention the names but I will say every other from Hewlett Woodmere no not even say to her in with Lawrrnce everything you can think of not even edible.Yesterday I finally found the most wonderful wonderful Chinese food and not only that they were able to speak to me on the phone and fill all my request . Could not have been easier and surprisingly oh that was the distance was further away then most the delivery time was almost half of the others. Forget everything you remember when you’re looking for Chinese delivery you must call D&Y kitchen . Trust me you won’t regret it❤️Enjoy your meal!!!!!

Really amazing Chinese take-out with affordable prices! I paid like $7 for a shrimp lo mein and it came with so much and it was very good. The food also came out very fast. I believe they have free delivery over $10 which I will definitely take advantage of soon and I will be back here! I definitely recommend

I had sworn off Chinese cuisine after two horrendous offerings from other local institutions. D&Y was recommended by a fellow LIRR commuter so I gave them a shot. The food is excellent. The Dumplings (not too doughy) and BBQ Spare Ribs (very meaty) are particularly well done. Highly recommend and they deliver to Valley Stream!

Their food is good, i really appreciate that they obviously use fresh oil for their fried foods, as opposed to similar restaurants that recycle their old oil, etc. Prices are typical of neighborhood Chinese restaurants and they accept credit card as well as cash. But if you plan to eat in.... just know it'll be sweltering in the summer and cold in the winter as they don't have air conditioning/ heating. But still enjoy for take out and delivery

Usually very good 4.5 - 5 start. My order today was very good until I bit into the baby corn. The baby corn tasted pickled as if was rotten. I informed the D & Y and they said they would look at their supply. For the most part, really good food.

we got delivery; the soup was open; spilling on everything, delivery driver DEMANDED tip after we already tipped on card. continued to argue until he saw my lovely golden retriever. The food is dry and old: both the chicken, and the chips. we had to rip the bag open to get everything out

Picked up food to take home, we don’t live in the area but needed something fast. $55 for absolute garbage. Food tasted & smelled moldy and we threw it out. What a waste of money, I can’t believe people rave about it yuck.
