Tried Kulture for brunch with my husband and baby… I’m still smiling about the whole experience. We had 11:45am reservations and walked into a calm, not overcrowded vibe… which I loved. No chaos, no noise overload… just the perfect setting to actually enjoy the moment, take pics, shoot a few videos, and soak everything in. Now let’s talk about Christina… because whew. She was working dual roles… bartending and serving… and did both flawlessly. Super personable, warm, and genuinely engaging. The kind of energy that makes you feel like you’re more than just another table. What really stood out was her sharing her personal growth and perspective… hearing how her mentor helped shift her mindset was refreshing and honestly inspiring. That type of interaction stays with you. Big appreciation to both Christina and whoever poured into her like that… it shows. And listen… the food. CHEF’S. KISS. Every bite was giving flavor, intention, and soul. You know a place is serious when you don’t even want to talk while eating. Straight finger-clappin’ satisfaction all the way back to sunny Florida. Huge shoutout as well to the two gentlemen who helped my husband… top-tier hospitality. Friendly, attentive, and clearly customer-service driven. One of them literally walked to the corner of the restaurant to help him locate the parking garage. Who does that anymore? That level of care is rare and absolutely deserves recognition. Kulture delivered on food, atmosphere, and service… the full trifecta. Do yourself a favor… check them out and support. Definitely a spot worth revisiting.
We stopped in for drinks before the Astros game and tried one of the starters. Our drinks were superb. A really compelling but not too sweet margarita and a perfectly balanced sangria. Our bartender was Jessica, she was extremely attentive and spot on with the drinks. we then ordered the hummus with braised lamb and it came with complimentary biscuits. One of the best biscuits I've ever had in my life. The hummus with pistachios and braised lamb was absolutely to die for. Everything was prepared to Perfection and served quickly. We will definitely come back and explore the rest of the menu! How any one is giving this place less than five stars is beyond me!
Melvin is an amazing Manger. He was very attentive and led by example instead of just telling his staff what to do. His entire staff is clearly trained well. Food was good and drinks were spectacular! He understood the urgency of getting in and out to make it back to our call time at NCA. We received food drinks and checks in no time! Great experience!
I will say the food is amazing and customer service is top tier. We did Togo order but the staff still attended to us as if we were dining in. We ended up ordering drinks. lol Definitely the highlight of our trip. Devin and it was another lady (Amry Vet) that served us. MUST TRY!!! We coming back for the oxtails (they were out) 😩
We had a great experience at Kulture. The food was delicious and full of flavor, and the cocktails were just as good, well balanced and perfectly prepared. The service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome throughout the entire meal. Definitely a place worth visiting in Houston
The customer service was unmatched from the moment we walked into the restaurant. Christina was an outstanding representative of the company—friendly, attentive, and professional. The food and cocktails were absolutely amazing. We’ll definitely be back.
This was my first time in Houston. I wanted some southern soul food and this place did not disappoint. The food was excellent and so was the service. I had the Oxtail over Grits and it was incredible. Really enjoyed my bartender and the nice people I met there. It was a great vibe and would highly recommend.
I took my daughter here to celebrate her birthday. We were greeted before we got to the door by one of the servers letting us know that next time we can avoid paying for parking by using the parking deck the next time. The atmosphere and food was a 10/10, we were greeted by every staff member and every one was nice. My daughter wanted to switch out her shrimp and grits for the gumbo and the manager had no problem doing so. He took his time out to make sure she was satisfied. I’ll definitely be visiting them again the next time I come to Houston.
Spontaneous date night choice turned out to be a phenomenal choice! It was probably too fancy for me to pick up every crumb but those were the best biscuits of my life so I did it anyway! Delicious appy of burnt ends with picked onions… and giant entree portions. I will rave about the collard greens that outshone the fried chicken (not because there was anything wrong with the meat, just that the sides were to die for). Those greens alone will bring me back! Service was impeccable, with multiple kind and helpful servers and a water glass that never ran dry. This was one of my favorite eating out experiences of 2025. There really ought to be line out the door between the value for the money, the amazing service, and a delicious, inventive menu. Kudos to the chef and staff!
What a fantastic restaurant! Stumbled upon this location while in Houston for a conference and ended up visiting not once but 3 times. Harvey and the staff are fantastic and so welcoming. The biscuits are a MUST have! Staff is knowledgable, food was amazing and the atmosphere is great. I definitely recommend visiting this location if you are looking for a locally owned modern spot to grab a bite and a cocktail.
I've had dinner here a few times now and all the food I've tried is delicious. The ox tails keep me coming back. Also have to mention the gumbo, it's great on a rainy day. The drinks are expertly crafted. Do your taste buds a favor and come try anything on the menu. Great music and every nice staff. Bartenders make this one of my favorite places to grab a drink in Houston.
I enjoyed the lamb chops very much, but the greens were perfection! Thank you to Marcus for great service. He wore multiple hats and made delicious cocktails - specifically the mango lemon drop. This was an engaging evening on a Wednesday, I can only imagine the level of excitement here on the weekend/brunch. Kulture is definitely a vibe!
Kulture Kitchen is a Black-owned restaurant that absolutely delivers on flavor, service, and atmosphere. The food was delicious, with bold, satisfying flavors in every bite. Our waiter was friendly, and the service was impressively quick, making for a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. This place is definitely a must-try restaurant--whether you're a local or just visiting. I highly recommend making a reservation, as it gets busy fast (for good reason!). There's parking available in a nearby garage, and they validate for up to two hours, which is super convenient. And don't leave without trying the lamb chops--they're a menu highlight and worth every bite
DreamCon brought me to Houston, and the smell of the food brought me through the doors of this dope spot. We had the Gulf Shrimp and grits and the Oxtails( which isn't a regular menu item but you can request them), and I'd definitely recommend you do. The shrimp and grits were really good too. The service was friendly and prompt, so I'll definitely grab a bite here next time I'm in H-Town!
We came to try Kulture and honestly… we were skeptical at first. A few helpful notes: parking is paid in the garage, but the first two hours are free. Also, one of the restaurant entrances is directly off the elevator inside the garage, so you don’t have to go outside to get in.. which is a plus. When we arrived, there was only two other parties in the restaurant, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We sat down and the bartender, Devon, came over and took our drink order. About five minutes later, a waiter came and asked if we wanted drinks. We let him know Devon had already taken our order. He looked shocked and confused, but moved along. Devon later came back and took our appetizer order. About 15 minutes after that, the same waiter returned to ask for our entrée order. He confirmed our appetizers, and since we assumed they’d be arriving soon, we went ahead and ordered our entrées. Well… plot twist. Our entrées were placed in front of us, and we never received the appetizers. I let them know we hadn’t gotten them and asked to cancel the order. Now here’s the part that matters: they admitted the mistake and ended up giving us the appetizers free of charge, which we genuinely appreciated. Before all of that, we did receive biscuits... not sure if they were complimentary or what. I’m not going to lie, they looked a little dry at first glance. But when I tell you those biscuits were fluffy and freaking delicious? Baby. I don’t know what is in that butter, but it needs to be studied. And the food? Delicious. No complaints there. The French 75 (made with Hendrick’s Floral gin by Devon) was elevated and beautifully balanced. The music was great, the vibe was nice, and once everything settled, it turned into a solid experience. Overall, despite the mix-up, it’s a nice place to get great food and listen to good music. Just maybe double-check your order.
Went to brunch with my girlfriend, her friends and their kids. The complimentary biscuits with butter and jelly are really good! Our orders did take a minute to come once they were placed which was a downside to the experience. As far as my food the waffle was good, I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. The fries were seasoned with salt and pepper they were decent, and the mashed potatoes were decent as well. The waiter seemed overwhelmed as he forgot a couple of things that people in the group had ordered. Also, did not know it closes at 3pm and we were there until 4pm. Regardless, the energy from the waiter should have never been what was shown/given to us especially with spending over $100. Based on the waiter may or may not be back because then food is not extravagant to the point I would overlook the subpar service that was provided.
We are in Houston for the New Year's and decided to give this place a chance. The customer service was absolutely amazing from when we 1st walked in until we left. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Coming from Detroit it's hard to find a good Black owned business that offers great food and great customer service so I appreciate finding this place. When we visit again, we will definitely stop by for a bite to eat.
It was my first experience and customers services is amazing the atmosphere was just right. I learned You have to order your meat well done or medium rare. New experience for me with fried lamb with grits and egg. Everything was good but the gravy was a little to salty for my pallet and born and raised in louisiana. Its always best to use a little salt in the grits and just a little in the gravy to keep it well balanced. The drinks was good and the waiters was very nice. I definitely try something else on the menu next time.
A great place for some southern cooking! Visited during the lunch hour, and the menu was rather limited but overall very tasty. Cornbread was absolutely to die for, very moist and very flavorful, paired incredibly well with the butter & jam! The piri piri tuna salad was very good, generous portion, tuna was well cooked, however not well deboned (ran into a small bone or something alike). IMO could have definitely bumped up the piri piri flavor on the tuna, as it was kind of light. Otherwise a great local restaurant to get some lunch during a busy conference. Prices were rather fair for lunchtime.
Overall a solid afternoon meal. Christina our wait staff was super sweet and even though there were two of us and she had another large table she was on her game. Management also checked on us a few times which was a nice touch. InIn regard to the food the complementary biscuits were amazing and the menu definitely had a soulful flair. Fried chicken, collard greens amd grits were very good. The fired catfish on a bed of grits was a little disappointing. The grits made the fired catfish soggy and the catfish was very bland. I don't think this was a good indicator of the balance of the menu and I would definitely come back. My only other comment was the kitchen seemed very slow and the DJ music was loud for 12:30 in the afternoon. That being said I highly suggest take this with a grain of salt and try Kulture for yourself.
The food here was delicious, hands down the best blueberry pancakes I’ve ever had. The fried chicken was also really good, crispy, moist, but it was on the salty side. The portion sizes were big too. Service could’ve been better, and it was a bit frustrating that the online menu didn’t match the in person one. I actually came for the French toast, but they had run out. That said, I loved the laid back vibe and the crowd. Still dreaming about those pancakes!
We’ve heard good things about this restaurant and decided to make a reservation and give it a shot. It was a bit disappointing. We came in with the impression that this is more of a fine dining kind of experience, but the experience is just ok. The pictures look better than the real thing. We ordered oxtail and fried chicken, and had complimentary biscuits. The biscuits and oxtail are really good, but I’m not sure if the oxtail is $40 kind of good. The fried chicken is ok, a bit oily though. When we sat down, we started smelling a strong scent of cleaning products. It’s good to know that they clean, but it’s not very pleasant to keep smelling cleaning products when we’re supposed be enjoying dinner in a nice restaurant. Then we noticed the 20% mandatory gratuity for every check. The service is at most average, in our opinion. Probably won’t come back again.
