We went to many coffee shops in Manhattan while visiting but this one was our absolute favorite! Such a cute and welcoming environment, the coffee and food was delicious (especially the mocha and baklava) and the staff was so delightful! Stop and support this place!
This is a lovely friendly place. Small independent family run business. Without question, the best coffee we had anywhere during our 10 day trip to NY. And the food is delicious
What a cute hole in the wall while walking down 9th Ave, perfect place to pop in for a quick coffee and pastry. They just opened their doors recently and it's a nice hidden gem. The barista is super kind and efficient. Prices are in the ballpark as everywhere in the city and is on par the latte was the perfect pick me up for my walk. Will add this to my coffee shop list
i came for the blue matcha and when I walked in, the scenery immediately had me feel at home. it has a comfy, rock n roll style and that’s right up my alley so obv loved it. they’re also so friendly and welcoming. ty for letting me film! :)
Charming small coffee place, nice service I liked cool 😎
This place is such a vibe! The coffee is so smooth and high quality! You can taste the passion everyone has for making a good cup of coffee! I wish I had discovered this place sooner in my trip because I can’t recommend it enough!
The Egg Salad is next next next level… I was hunting for food the other day (famished after a hard training session) and I walked by, saw this small coffee shop, laughed at its name… then I turned back and decided to give it a try. Had a latte and egg salad.. latte was very good, but the egg salad was hands down the best I’ve ever had. I’ll be going back several times to try the rest of their menu. Highly recommend… it’s a small place, but it has seating and a cool vibe. Good place to chill.
Such a cool little spot with an awesome vinyls filled vibe. Their matcha lattes are so good and you can basically ask for any flavour imaginable!
11/10 service!! The sweetest most thoughtful staff, the best Turkish coffee. Got the bacon egg and cheese and it was excellent
If you love ❤️ the TASTE of freshness, this is the SPOT. Everything made in-house. DELICIOUS 😋
If I could give the coffee shop more than 5 stars, I would!! Everything about it was AMAZING!! The ambiance was awesome - we loved the decor and music. The family that owns and runs it are so friendly and accommodating. And the food and coffee- it’s the BEST around! The coffee has amazing flavor, all the pastries are the best we ever had, and the breakfast sandwiches were delicious too! We went every morning that we were in NYC because nothing else compares. It was my husband’s favorite part of our trip!
Absolutely loved Starstruck Coffee! As a family of five, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, the staff incredibly kind, and the food is homemade and delicious. A perfect spot to start your day in New York — we’ll definitely be back!
Cute little coffee shop. Really cool punk rock vibes. Delicious lattes and generously sized breakfast sandwiches.
One of the best coffee places I’ve been in town. If you love music, you’re gonna love here. Nice atmosphere, looks and feels like one of the coffee places we used to have back in the good old days. Hidden gem in the middle of busy midtown.
Best Turkish coffee I’ve ever had, love that it comes with baklava and ice water
Stoped here twice while in NYC. love supporting local and this place has good option for coffee and food.
I needed a coffee shop on the Lower West Side at 6:30 and the others were closed, so I stumbled into Starstruck with no more expectation than a caffeine fix. What I discovered was a perfect gem of small neighborhood hangout. The decor is hip guitars and album covers from the 50s to 80s and the background music was AM from that catalog, but with FM sonics. The seating is space efficient but comfortable enough to catch up with an old friend. Everything was clean to just below compulsive, the service was copacetic to the point of near telepathy, and the coffee was robust in an understated way. To quote Rik Ocasek, "It was just what I needed" to continue a nearly perfect day.
This coffee shop is exactly what the neighborhood needed. The coffee is among the best in the city, and the pastries, especially the almond croissant, are fantastic. The place is decorated with a cool rock vibe, adding to its unique atmosphere. It's perfect for studying or meeting up with friends. Highly recommend!
This small family-owned coffee shop became our family's regular morning retreat during our one-week trip to New York. It's super cozy, the food is amazing and the coffee is fantastic. It's very rare to find a good espresso in New York. But what makes this place really special is the people running it - since it's family owned, they pour their hearts into it.
Very cute and cozy. Best coffee shop in the area.
Amazing place with character! Feels like old New York! Taste of Turkish coffee, tea and Baklava were really Turkish! All the products are from Turkey and Turkish chef is above and beyond! Amazing service! Felt like a guest in a Turkish family! Kudos to the family that runs this cozy place!
The experience was awesome. The customer service was astounding, they were so friendly and really made an effort to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. The food was very well made and extremely tasty. The ambience was amazing, the music was classy, well picked and not to loud so we were able to chat without raising our voices. Overall it was a very pleasant visit and I highly recommend it.
Echoing all the other reviews. This place is a gem- excellent coffee and food. Family shop with personal service. Can’t wait to get back to NYC and visit here again.
This caramel latte looks like a visual feast. The cream and caramel sauce on top make the latte attractive. It is a wonderful experience to sip this drink and be greeted by the peaceful atmosphere of the cafe. The musical instruments in the background and the green walls covered with posters add an artistic and bohemian atmosphere to the place. This combination can be an ideal escape from the stress of daily life, offering both a delicious coffee and a relaxing environment.
My go to coffee shop in the neighborhood. It appears to be family run. The coffee and coffee drinks are spot on and their food items go beyond just pastries and cookies with great sandwiches
I like their matcha latte and I usually don't like matcha. Also the hot taro latte is delicious. And so is the chai latte! Friendly staff and good vibes. Love the music-themed decor and the music they play too! People say the coffee and Turkish coffee are delicious but I haven't tried them yet. Cute emerald green walls.
I don't know how I've missed this place before but I love it! Awesome vibe, great food and coffee.
Wifi here. Delicious espresso drinks, matchas, teas, food and their homemade baclava. Served on dishes if you like! ENJOY!
Such a beautiful and cozy space in a neighborhood in desperate need of cozy places. Baklava slaps but the drinks are delicious too.
What a great place. The food. The people. The service. And last but not least the music. Coming here for a break is a highlight of my day.
Awesome Turkish coffee with a lot of grunge music influence in the shop make for an unexpected but awesome combination
We stayed nearby in a hotel for a few days and returned to this place a few times! You feel very welcome inside and the staff showed true kindness to our family that you just don’t see often these days.
Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese was so fresh and delicious. Served on a nice dish with a small side of salad. The Egg and Cheese Bagel Sandwich is also an amazing choice I recommend. Service was great, We stumbled upon a gem! Family owned and tourist friendly. The owner gave us some complementary Baklava with our plates.
Delicious coffee. Food is great (mindblown by homemade baklava). Nice, warm environment for study / work (wifi + outlet).
So happy to have found Starstruck! This local, family-run coffee shop is a gem in the neighborhood. The coffee is excellent—smooth, rich, and made with care—and the food is just as good. You can tell they put real effort into quality, and the welcoming atmosphere makes it a great spot to sit and enjoy. It’s always nice to support a business that’s honest, hardworking, and truly invested in the community. If you’re in the area, definitely check them out
Charming and cozy vinyl themed coffee place with "immaculate vibes" as my nephew would say. Their sign for gorgeous blue matcha drew me in, but I ended up with a generous cappuccino and croissant with strawberry preserves. I could soak up the fantastic playlist all day.
The BEST Turkish coffee you can find outside of Turkey. Family owned and run, they bake fresh baklava and other Turkish goodies daily. I highly recommend you stop by and say Merhaba!!
With Delicious strong coffee and excellent music taste, I was so happy to discover this gem proudly displaying early Radiohead and Blur vinyl records decorating the walls. Make a point to stop in here and treat yourself, I highly recommend.
Wonderful coffee—I don’t often get to have the flavor profile of whatever blend they use for their espresso but it is wonderful. Warm, nutty, yet smooth. The atmosphere is absolutely adorable too; love the vinyl and Polaroid walls! Skip the chains and support places like this on your trip to NYC :)
I had just gotten off a flight and bus and I dropped by here before I went to the post office and they were so kind. No wait- just immediate service. I got a latte and coffee and bagel. All of them just amazing!!! Next time I'll have the muffins. I was served by a girl who is so sweet and works so quick!!! -Jack and Marissa
Came down for a trip and found this little gem by our hotel. It was so good we ended up coming two days in a row! The price is completely reasonable for how delicious and high quality the food/drink is. The staff is genuine and polite, and makes you feel so welcome and almost like family. Next time I visit, I know this will be my first stop!
This cafe is simply amazing! The breakfast was fresh, beautifully served, and full of flavor. Their coffee is smooth and rich definitely one of the best in town.
coolest family owned coffee shop in midtown with the most delicious beverages & pastries, as well as the best playlists! my favorite tradition is trying to guess what will be playing when i walk in for my yummy cortado or matcha latte. the hospitality is beyond 5 stars, you’d be a fool to skip this spot. thank you for always putting a smile on my face💙
If you’re looking for a food experience that feels like a bite of heaven right here on earth, Startruck is the place to be. Nestled on 35th and 9th in Manhattan, this hidden gem serves up dishes that dazzle the senses and leave your taste buds dancing. Every bite is bold, creative, and unforgettable. This coming from a Mexican cook 🧑🍳. Just come and enjoy 😉
I walked out of my way to come to this place because it has 4.7 Stars. I was not disappointed. It's a very charming and unique. The other reviews I read sum it up pretty well. It's got a rock and roll vibe in short of antique charm. The coffee was good, and the almond croissant I had was great. It's really small so it don't come with a large group. The service was delightful. I absolutely adored this place!
So glad we found this place on the first day of our trip to NYC, after we had their coffee we didn’t need to look anywhere else! We made 4 trips and tried their coffee, breakfast, pastries and it still wasn’t enough - I will be counting down the days until I’m back! This family is so kind and welcoming and they have the coolest decor and music taste. Everyone should try this place, especially the baklava!!! ❤️
Found this coffee shop right by our hotel, and we went every single morning of our trip! Coffee was amazing, as well as a great selection of pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Baklava is a must try! Super welcoming environment, cool decor, just a wonderful memory of our trip! Next time I’m in New York this will be one of my first stops!
This was one of the best discoveries I made in New York. The food is absolutely delicious and this is probably the best coffee I've had here. The moment you step into the shop you feel and see the comfortable atmosphere this shop has. It is small but that's what makes it so sweet. But most importantly the people working here are very sweet. They are an immediate pick-me-up and treated us very kindly. I am here with my friends from Germany and the man here can speak German. So that was a very nice way to connect with people here. I will definitly come back to this place as often as I can:)
Iconic coffee shop, the family that owns it is the sweetest. Really good coffee and Turkish sweets, and I love what they did with the place, they have music instruments and LP covers on the walls, its a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend
Came here for breakfast and was really impressed. The service was very friendly and polite and the breakfast/coffee was reasonably priced. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel and it was a good amount of food and delicious. I also liked the decor inside. Would come again if I am in the area
Popped in to rest my feet after some writing and had a great experience! I asked for a suggestion-- I think I was made an iced latte with rose vanilla and chocolate? I told them I like everything and this didn't disappoint. The coffee was delicious and the vi e inside is cozy and comfortable. I definitely will make it a usual stop when im in the area!
A small and cozy cafe, with a beautiful interior, you can while away the time before the appointment, drinking a cup of tea or coffee with dessert, as I did ) I took a cappuccino with oat milk and a danish with cherries, I really liked it, it was very tasty. Danish was brought to me on a very beautiful plate and coffee in a cup, it is nice, because basically everywhere they serve in disposable cups. The waiting time passed quickly and pleasantly with good music and I happily ran about my business. Thank you Starstruck coffee.
We came to Manhattan for an entire week and found right around our corner this magnificent family owned coffee shop with a diverse menu and delicious coffee. The owners are the sweetest people and so attentive and cordial. Papa’s name Irfan Tas, his wife Mama’s name Cemile Tas and their awesome daughter Gunes Tas and their son Deniz will be happy to provide the best service and flavors possible! Make sure you stop by if you’re close by, they are located at 454 9th ave West in Manhattan NY. Thank you Papa, Mama and their son Deniz and their amazing daughter Gunes for making us feel so welcome every day we visited you guys for amazing coffee and delicious pastries! Next time we will stop by and make sure we say hi and enjoy your place!
This is a cozy and arty spot with a decent number of tables and outlets. I enjoyed my coffee and the staff was friendly
I got suckered in by the "Blue Matcha" sign out front - after passing it a few times I decided to try it out. The Blue Matcha is fantastic! The space inside is quite small but there are a few tables and the vibe is nice for staying a while. It's music themed and the woman working was very nice. I'll definitely be back.
Overall: 2.9/5 I often noticed their A-frame sign on my commute to work, and the vibrant blue drink featured on it always caught my eye. On my last morning of commuting, I finally decided to give it a try. The cafe has a distinctive charm, blending an antique aesthetic with a rock & roll vibe. It's a very small space, with just 2-3 tables, I ordered the hot Lithium Coffee ($7.50) with Oat Milk ($1.11), while my coworker got a hot matcha latte. The drink size was generous, and the blue color from the butterfly pea tea was striking. Unfortunately, the taste didn't live up to the visuals. It was heavy on spices, and I honestly can't recall the other ingredients beyond the tea. I couldn't finish the whole drink so I felt bad for wasting. The drinks take a bit of time to prepare, so if you're in a hurry, plan accordingly or save your visit for when you have more time.
I absolutely hate to say it, but I got a cold brew with almond milk and it was almost $9. This was my first time here, so I decided to give it a go and see if it was worth the price: Absolutely not - this was nothing special from any other cold brew I’ve had and it was double the price. I would love to come here and make this my regular spot, but I can’t justify spending THAT much money on a basic size cold brew.
Hate to write it as it looks like a small family owned business, but the value per price is not good. The prices are above average to start with (1-2 dollars higher compared to other places), and you would expect a good coffee as it is their only location. The inside decoration and atmosphere seem nice, but we risked to drop our coffee twice as the table was wobbly. The cappuccino was so hot that I burned my tongue, and the machine they use is one of those that mix the coffee already (hence, no barista skills/latte art). The cold brew cup was not closed properly, and it leaked on my clothes. I know you can do better than this, especially if you want to distinguish yourself from the franchise competition. I did not try any food, I can't speak about that. Get a better coffee machine and a barista, fix your tables and chairs, and you'll go a long way. Good luck
Shockingly bad. Ordered decaf latte. After taking a few sips I had to ask if I had actually got what i ordered. It was watery and smelled/tasted nothing like coffee. I asked the barista to taste it and tell me that this is what it is supposed to taste like. He said it is just "decaf" which is ridiculous as i drink decaf every day, both in cafes and at home. He did make me another one which again was just hot water that had the smallest hint of coffee. I have a feeling extremely old beans might be an issue but either way it was awful. The café itself was nice to sit in, but the "coffee" was just lacking. Shocking experience and an utter waste of money. I wish I had asked for my money back
