It was just one option for Thanksgiving dinner, but I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere - we sat next to a real wood fireplace. The staff were very helpful and nice, and the food was fresh and delicious. The prices were also very reasonable. I definitely recommend it.
Amazing place! Good prices, especially for sandwiches. The food was excellent, I had a Deli Rose sandwich (it's pretty big, definitely bigger than burgers in fast food for the same price) served with chips and pickle and lemon lime cooler, and all was great. The staff is very polite and friendly, they like to talk to you about different things while you waiting for your order. Maybe wait-time was a little bit long, but I think it was because there were many people at lunch. But again, it was worth it, and I was satisfied with my lunch
This place is awesome, first time I've been able to have real maté in a looong time and it did not dissapoint! The soup and bread were fantastic, the staff was friendly, the decor and vibes are amazing, and the desserts were delicious!
I got the papaya juice (5/10), kids waffle (10/10) and the spinwich breakfast sandwich on a heritage roll (6/10). But the veggie burger i got last time was a 9/10 and so was the honey bun. The inside is amazing. My male server last time was a bit creepy, so it took me awhile to go back. But he wasn’t there this time.
The cozy, all-wood rustic ambience and the honey-yellow lighting draw you into this Bavarian/German/Swiss chalet (?) styled restaurant. And the background music is reminiscent of the Swiss music loop playing at Disney World's Pinocchio Village Haus restaurant. (My group of six travelers are from Orlando, so yes, our ears perked up.) // I enjoyed a warm Rachel sandwich, which was served with chips. I also ordered a delicious Hot Apple Cider. Friendly, efficient service & reasonable prices. ALSO: Check out the clean, nicely-done bathrooms; the fireplace; and all the wood-shingled "roofs" over the dining booths. A treat for the eyes & senses.
From the sidewalk, this place stood out with its inviting rustic façade and artistic stained glass signage. The menu items posted outside at the entrance was the clincher for me and my family in deciding to eat dinner here. Upon entering, the restaurant appeared to be a world of woodsy booths that are entered from ground level and two staggered levels above-ground. Our waiter brought us to a booth that had to be entered by walking up a spiral staircase. Our booth really felt like a tree house. The food was amazing, especially the bread which tasted like it was made fresh just for us. I had a veggie burger and it was very filling and tasty. I also sampled my son's chili and his jalapeño bread. I also sampled a delicious garden salad. And the total price for each item was very reasonable. There are dozens of locations for the The Yellow Deli around the world. I never heard of this place which is surprising because they just celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2023.
This place stuck out immediately when some friends and I were looking for somewhere to eat in Ithaca. The exterior was adorable, and the interior was even better. Everything from the decorations to the cute menus to the music playing was super enjoyable and relaxing. The waiter was incredibly nice and added to everything. The food was relatively inexpensive, especially considering the quality, and the drinks were great on a hot day. I'm eager to come back the next time I'm in Ithaca.
Everything about this place is fantastic. The charming exterior to the funky space on the inside. The attention to detail in all their menu options (they seem to make everything in house from homemade root beer on tap that is served in a frosty mug, to all the bread that is served there, to the banana milk base in their smoothies, to most of rather sauces and condiments on all the sandwiches. We were greeted as soon as we opened the door, they were very busy around 1130am on a weekend morning in August, by a guy who - once he found out it was our first time at the place - was almost giggling in joy to tell us about the menu and what he recommended. All the drinks were in house, we got a cold apple cider, the root beer on tap as well the smoothie. I would've gone there just for the smoothie. It was strawberry heaven. I will dream about that smoothie. I downed all the drinks and asked for more. My wife got the chili with homemade loaf of bread they give you with it and it had jalapeños in it. It was delicious. I got the reuben which was outstanding. Loved the flavor of the corned beef. I would go here everyday if I lived close. And we saw many locals here as well, it wasn't just for tourists. Seriously, you have to go here. Do NOT forget to get a root beer to-go.
Don't judge anything through the covers, which is correct for this restaurant. It's like a wooden cute spot from the appearance but a whole different world inside. It brings you a Harry Potter or Hobbit vibe. A very mysterious European atmosphere. The staff is friendly and informative. Food and drinks are super on point. A bit salty to my friends which can be personal taste. My Chilli, bread and dessert were perfectly delicious. Highly recommended!!
The veggie burgers were absolutely delicious. They have generous portion of avocado and avocado sprouts. The fresh tomatoes add just the right amount of juiciness. I have tried their mango matte and it was so refreshing. Their cauliflower soup is also a must try.
If hippies lived in the treehouse and made breakfast, that’s what the inside of this deli looks like. Amazing breakfast, best home made granola!! Best I’ve ever had
I love this restaurant. Its iconically Ithaca with its charm, healthy options, personable, attentive staff, and popular location. The chef salad was delicious!

No expresso, but good coffee and very affordable yummy sandwiches.
Soup of the day was butternut squash something and it was one of the best fall soups I've ever had. Very relaxing atmosphere, would absolutely visit again.
This kinda Christian place saved my life at midnight. The sourdough is delicious! You can find it because it blasts folksy music into the Commons, it feels like waking into the Shire.
We stopped in this cute restaurant for lunch. It has a cozy atmosphere. I love the rustic decorations. It was clean, especially the bathrooms. The service was very good and attentive. The food was amazing! We both had matè drinks, the mango and lemon lime and really enjoyed them. We will definitely return the next time we visit Ithaca.
Pretty much the only place I'd eat at when I went to college here, some of the best sandwitches ive had for a really good price.
A must see in Ithica. Open late, amazing food at a good price. And the service is super friendly. Breakfast all day is essential. Try the Banana Milk Smoothie 🤤
I always only dined at Moosewood when visiting Ithaca. My dogs 🐕 vet suggested I try The Yellow Deli. I was so surprised with the warm greeting upon entering. The menu is extensive to accommodate all dining needs. I received outstanding service and food suggestions. The food is delicious, well prepared and nicely presented. The amount of food is huge. Bring a large appetite or you will be leaving with a big take home 🏡 bag like me. I WILL be back!
Delicious!!!!! I tried it once and is in love with it. The sandwiches are great!! I love the Cayuga hike and the deli pesto. For desserts you should definitely try their waffle, cream cheese pie with the blueberry sauce. And buy the fruits plate salad!!!!!! Food is really fresh and I can say it’s like it was just picked from farm. Everybody was so welcoming and sooo nice. Just a must go I love it.

Cool place, vibe was weird, really weird. Very cult like and religion based… all the male servers just stared awkwardly at myself and my girls. When my husband entered they didn’t really interact at alll and just continued to stare. Weirded us out. The food was good though.

Beautiful place. Vibe upon entering is very cultish and strange. Everyone was extremely polite from greeting to seating us. Then nobody ever came back to our table. When leaving they just looked and smiled.
