Cool chill tarvern vibe. Food is good and budget friendly (we got soup and Bristol Fillet). We entered at 4:30 PM on a workday and we were the only group there. The crowd started coming in around 5:15PM.

Though I went during the Ithaca Apple Festival, The Yellow Deli was giving out samples of what would be on their upcoming menu. Not only the inside of the establishment is super cute, whimsical, and reminds you of a giant treehouse, but the food is awesome as well. I tried things such as veggie burgers that make you say "daaaaang, that's a veggie burger?!" hearty corned beef sandwiches, cozy chili, delicious hibiscus iced tea, refreshing mango iced tea, lemon iced tea. All the way to desserts such as decadent cheesecake with glazed strawberries on top and fluffy carrot cake. This place is a dream, and when they officially open up, I'm coming back.

OMG, this is the place to get a bite to eat or to just sit. If it's open, go here NOW. I am so glad they are finally back and open.

Pina Colada smoothie is to die for, the day you were closing down to start remodeling I drank 3 of them lol, and I have literally dream about them. The main reason I haven't been there to get one yet since you opened back up is the parking for the commons drives me crazy but I will be there soon to get one cause I don't think I can wait much longer ha ha ha.... FANTASTIC is the only word that can come close to describe our overall experience at The Yellow Deli. My wife and I decided to grab lunch here after walking by numerous times since they opened. The atmosphere of the Deli is fantastic, food is top notch. I'll be honest probably the best food I've had in a restaurant in Ithaca. Very reasonably priced! I myself got the Ruben sandwich to eat with their specialty hibiscus drink. Everything was exceptional! My wife (who is extremely picky) ordered a sandwich in which she picked and chose what she had on it, Buffalo chicken style deli meat and some toppings. She also ordered a Strawberry smoothie. All of which were completely eaten and gone to the last drop! We then settled for a slice of the sweet potato pound cake. For us, that is a must order if you come here! We were extremely impressed, and will make this a frequent place for a date night! 11/10 would definitely recommend!

I went to the Oneonta location since I was a child, and the Yellow Deli in Ithaca is just as delicious!! The staff is very nice and the food is absolutely amazing. It's my comfort place :) The veggie burger, carob cookies, and banana bread (without butter) are vegan. Sometimes they have a vegan veggie soup. They also have oat milk for the beverages.

We just had drinks . The Dali blend was awesome , hot or cold! The staff there are wonderful! They were so sweet with our daughter who is 6. It was a wonderful time. We just stopped to use the bathroom and grab drinks but we stayed and had a wonderful conversation at the counter with the people working.

The food is top quality. The homemade vegetarian soups, (I'm vegetarian, but there are non vegetarian soups- etc...) come with homemade bread & are satisfyingly good- so is the veggie burger! I regularly enjoy their fresh carrot juice & sweet/zesty mango mate'. The atmosphere is inspiringly serene, the service is usually prompt, & the Staff is gently friendly. Absolutely fantastic hospitality. Restaurant is beautiful, workers are incredibly nice. I was in a 5 minute rush to make the bus, and let the server know. He sprinted to the back and made me a whole burger meal within 3 minutes, no joke!

Out and about for Ithaca loves teachers day. We were hungry so we stopped at the Yellow Deli. Our first time here. Food was amazing service was just as good. Would definitely come again. The homemade bread is outstanding.

We went here for lunch and what an awesome surprise! A very tasty tomato basil soup of the day, a reuben and a frosty mug of on tap root beer. Delicious! This place is decked out beautifully with fine yet rustic woodworking, iron, stone, wicker and leather. We loved it. The staff were friendly and attentive. The price? Very reasonable for downtown Ithaca particularly! 2 soups with bread, 2 big sandwiches and 2 frosty drinks, $38. Try it and love it.

I love this place! The food is so good, I love the Bristol fillet or the veggie burger. The maté is always a classic to drink. More than anything I’m obsessed with the atmosphere. My fiancé and I come here weekly for a little date and it feels like we are transported to simpler times and an easier life.

We were initially drawn in by the cozy-looking photos on their Google page, but our expectations were totally exceeded when we got an early dinner at the Yellow Deli on a quiet evening. Incredibly charming, enchanting even, with woodsy, sprite-ish decor. The service was a little bit slow, but all the better, because the longer we spent there, the more comfortable we felt and the more opportunities to look around. The hand-drawn signage and menus, the welcoming way everything is phrased and presented…you may even catch the old-timey rope dumbwaiter raising and lowering out the corner of your eye. We felt like we were dining in a treehouse with perfect lighting and friendly staff. We had Mango & Mint Matés which were freshly made with real juice and herbs, and the soup of the day (salmon chowder!) and a veggie burger. Everything was delicious. A great rainy day retreat and must-stop eatery in Ithaca!

And the background music is reminiscent of the Swiss music loop playing at Disney World's Pinocchio Village Haus restaurant. (My group of six travelers are from Orlando, so yes, our ears perked up.) // I enjoyed a warm Rachel sandwich, which was served with chips. I also ordered a delicious Hot Apple Cider. Friendly, efficient service & reasonable prices. ALSO: Check out the clean, nicely-done bathrooms; the fireplace; and all the wood-shingled "roofs" over the dining booths. Upon entering, the restaurant appeared to be a world of woodsy booths that are entered from ground level and two staggered levels above-ground. Our waiter brought us to a booth that had to be entered by walking up a spiral staircase. Our booth really felt like a tree house. The food was amazing, especially the bread which tasted like it was made fresh just for us. I had a veggie burger and it was very filling and tasty. I also sampled my son's chili and his jalapeño bread. I also sampled a delicious garden salad. And the total price for each item was very reasonable. There are dozens of locations for the The Yellow Deli around the world. I never heard of this place which is surprising because they just celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2023.

I will dream about that smoothie. I downed all the drinks and asked for more. My wife got the chili with homemade loaf of bread they give you with it and it had jalapeños in it. It was delicious. I got the reuben which was outstanding. Loved the flavor of the corned beef. I would go here everyday if I lived close. And we saw many locals here as well, it wasn't just for tourists. Seriously, you have to go here. Do NOT forget to get a root beer to-go.

It brings you a Harry Potter or Hobbit vibe. A very mysterious European atmosphere. The staff is friendly and informative. Food and drinks are super on point. A bit salty to my friends which can be personal taste. My Chilli, bread and dessert were perfectly delicious. Highly recommended!!

I always only dined at Moosewood when visiting Ithaca. My dogs 🐕 vet suggested I try The Yellow Deli. I was so surprised with the warm greeting upon entering. The menu is extensive to accommodate all dining needs. I received outstanding service and food suggestions. The food is delicious, well prepared and nicely presented. The amount of food is huge. Bring a large appetite or you will be leaving with a big take home 🏡 bag like me. I WILL be back!

The decor is pleasant, the staff warm and welcoming, and the food is good enough and as described. I wish I’d looked up the Yellow Deli organization beforehand, however, if just to put the experience in context. There are a number of other Yellow Delis worldwide and all staff members adhere to a specific lifestyle and philosophy that is not without controversy.

Food was fine for lunch. Wasn’t overly impressed. Prices were a bit high compared to food quality. Server seemed checked-out and was not very helpful. Location was nice on pedestrian plaza.

Best Reuben sandwich in the county. Music, stonework and woodcraft make for an old Appalachian vibe. Prices are competitively high, as expected.

Stopped in with my family for lunch. The interior is gorgeous and the food was good. My daughter loved her waffle with fresh fruit and blueberry sauce. Food was fine, but the vibe was so weird I won't go back. They were overly interested in my friend, and I felt like we didn't get a chance to catch up properly because they were being overly friendly. Very weird - do not recommend.

Cool place, vibe was weird, really weird. Very cult like and religion based… all the male servers just stared awkwardly at myself and my girls. When my husband entered they didn’t really interact at alll and just continued to stare. Weirded us out. The food was good though.

that was the weirdest experience of my life bro what edit: i wanted to revisit this review: when i went on 1/1/23 the host came to my table and told my partner and i that it was opening day for them. so, why are there reviews for this place from months before that day? the whole thing is really sketchy just skip it dude

Beautiful place. Vibe upon entering is very cultish and strange. Everyone was extremely polite from greeting to seating us. Then nobody ever came back to our table. When leaving they just looked and smiled.
