May the festivities of 2026 bring you immense joy and wonderful memories. I wish you a truly delightful experience during this special occasion. Anticipate a time filled with happiness and cheer. Enjoy every moment of this exciting period.
We sat out on the patio and it was surprisingly cool, they have commercial fans blowing just the right amount. First thing we noticed were cat food bowls. Then saw a cat curled up sleeping. Then noticed they had a little tent/ house for him. His name is Jack. They take great care of him w/ vaccines and neuter, one of the staff kept him at their house a few days while he recovered... Our server was Preston, he was very friendly and takes his time for questions. The potato skin appetizer was phenomenal, with sour cream and ranch for dipping. The iced tea was great and when my glass got low, he showed up with another glass without as sking. My wife loved the ribeye sandwich and some of the best onion strips ever. I had the ribeye steak, next time I'll try the chicken fried steak. There was a guy playing guitar, acoustic and later electric, he was great!! It was one of the best dining experiences we've had. 🤠
Amazing waitress Kayla(sp?) good food vibes and perfect place to bring dogs.
Great Restaurant/ Venue! Very large inside. Lots of tables, choice of seating on patio, live music area with bar, inside. Side inside area with bar. You can still dine and not be in the middle of the live music crowd. Patio has a cool bar and is pet friendly. Patio out front with no TVs or music, great if your wanting a chill dinner no music or crowds. Poll tables, games. Prices are fair. Food is great, highly recommend the Steak and Crawfish. Large portions. Great variety of drinks and beer, daily Happy Hour specials .
We came on a Thursday night. They had live music playing, great performance. I had a few margaritas and my fiancé had vodka crans, which were actually on special for six dollars, Tito's ! not bad at all. We got an appetizer that included wings, and fried mushroom, delicious . The ambience was great. They had a big patio, even an outdoor section and an indoor as well. So close to home and we are definitely coming back.
This was my first time here. It was completely PACKED! My friend and I sat at the bar! The bartender was amazing! I didn’t think that Island 🏝️ mimosa would have me like it did! But it was GOODT! I had the chicken marisco and she had the bang bang shrimps! OMG THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!! I will definitely be back! There’s parking in the back. So no need to worry about that. Great place for good food, drinks and music!
Food was great…brunch menu was excellent. We had the ahi tuna, a bagel with lox and cream cheese, the shrimp platter, shrimp, and grits, and breakfast tacos. Service was great!
Amazing food, great service, and impeccable vibes!
This place is the Bomb! The food is magnificent as well as the drinks and the servers are the best! Atmosphere is great and always much entertainment inside and out! I love me some Jackie's!!!
Had a hard time getting a drunk local off my paid VIP table, but I managed. Very good waitresses and bar attendance. Ice cold beer and good mix drinks. The bands are always great! Especially A/M F/M 70S and 90s experience! Will return again and again!
This was our first visit to Jackie’s as recommended by a friend so we could grab a bite before the Sunday matinee of Guys And Dolls at The Opera House. We were greeted by Jackie who also waited on us. She was a delightful host who made us feel right at home and the food was fresh, hot and fantastic! I had the fried green tomato and grilled chicken sandwich and my husband had the country fried steak. Both wee suggested by Jackie and her tip to order the eggs over medium was perfect. Both meals were 10 Out of 10 Good. My mom Loved the avocado BLT and the sweet potato fries were some of the best we ever had. We loved the whole experience. Bonus was the shop next door called The Monticello Plant Boutique. Very cool spot!
I forgot how flavorful the crawfish were here. I live in SATX now. Pro Tip-go with the house seasoning. They get spicier as eat your way to the bottom. You wont be disappointed. The parkinglot is always full. They have plenty but it is a popular spot.
Had a great time. Shrimp po’ boy was excellent. Our server, Taylor was so attentive. Even made sure to set us up with a heater because I was so cold. Patrick Oliver entertained with great music. We are new to town and will definitely make this a regular place.
The atmosphere is so amazing. Its cozy and quaint, it has a home feeling. The service was quick and the staff is super friendly. They make you feel like family.
A staple in the Clear Lake Shores/Kemah community, this WONDERFUL small Cafe offers excellence in food , service, and atmosphere. Not too many want to rate it, as they don't want to have the overcrowding when the word gets out that this tucked away place, deep rooted in history of the community is the best place to have a fabulous breakfast and lunch. The owners are always there to greet you, and everyone knows each other. Hate to put this out there but it truly is a DO NOT MISS place for breakfast. It is top notch!
Place is pretty good. The food and service is great! We had breakfast and you better bring an appetite because the portions are generous. The biscuits are fresh and huge.
Stopped in to give it a try, will definitely be back. Nice friendly atmosphere. Great selection of food. I had the western omelet and a biscuit the size of my head. Both were delicious. My husband had the New Orleans omelet and couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Just a great little place
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! By far my favorite place to go to for breakfast! It's a hometown dinner with an amazing staff. The food is PERFECTION! Highly recommend this place to everyone and anyone. A family-friendly establishment with the owner who seats you. We go here every weekend for breakfast. Everything is amazing and perfect every time. We have never had any issues. The wait staff is always on top of everything and beyond helpful with any request. The only issue is I wish they were open longer so I could get their amazing food later in the day. If you are in the area and it's early in the day, stop here. You won't regret it in any way! Also, all the menu items are super cheap. Can't beat this place. Always amazing and love the atmosphere in every way.
Alex, my waitress, was attentive, kind, courteous, and excellent at service. My experience for my first time here was above and beyond. I love the small diner and hometown vibes with pictures of the community all over the walls. Food was delicious! I was recommended the 2 egg breakfast with a homemade, fluffy biscuit and a side of gravy. It was the wholesome country breakfast you’d hope to find and that fills you up perfectly for a great day. Thank you Alex, for your time and service and making my day eggcellent! :)
Great local eatery serving delicious breakfast. It really hit the spot on a cool spring break morning after doing some fishing down the street. Service was prompt and attentive too. Highly recommend this local establishment that looks like they've been perfecting their menu for a long time. Pancakes were huge and fluffy with my scrambled eggs to order and thick bacon. My son bragged on their coffee which was actually quite smooth and savory. Awesome value! Keep up the good work Skipper.
I stumbled upon this wonderful breakfast spot during my visit, and I must say, it's a gem. The menu not only offers delicious homestyle cooking, but it also includes some Greek offerings that truly stand out. The food is flavorful and satisfying, leaving you ready to take on the day. What impressed me the most was the service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about making your dining experience memorable. They also seem to have won over the locals, who highly recommend this place - a sure sign of its quality. As a tourist, finding a breakfast spot like this feels like striking gold. It's a perfect start to the day with hearty food, great service, and the stamp of approval from locals. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
Google reviewers did not disappoint!!! Tried Skipper’s for the first time this morning. Food was delicious, hot and straight from a Southern Country Kitchen 🤤🤤. They lived up to all the Best Bkfst awards on the wall. I never eat home fries and let me tell you I’m glad I tried them here. Service was great- definitely will be back soon
Wonderful local breakfast shop. Quaint atmosphere, cozy seating, friendly wait staff. Was able to sit right down and served by Krista (spelling?). Took our order, food came out perfect, hot, and delicious. Waters were kept full and we were not lost in the shuffle during what seemed to be an unusually busy time. Highly recommended, will be back!!

We came here for an early lunch before planned sightseeing trips. A good value, friendly atmosphere. Quickly seated and served. Lots of choices on the menu and had a lovely brunch.

My husband and I just moved to the area and wanted to try this place. The food and the atmosphere were fantastic. The service, however, was dismal. Never been here before, we stood waiting to be seated. Not seeing a “Wait to Be Seated” sign, we were about to seat ourselves. The awkwardness could have been avoided if the wait staff wasn’t standing by the bar chatting instead of greeting the customer. We put in our order and I ordered a drink from the bar. After about 10 minutes of seeing the bartender doing nothing, we attempted to flag down our waitress that was just standing around chatting with other staff. She forgot to put the drink order in. Our breakfast tacos and honey chicken biscuit were delicious. Our waitress never checked on us, but continued to chat with other waitstaff by the bar. We had to flag her down for to go boxes, & you’d think she would promptly bring our check instead of acting like she was put out for having to do her job, but no. We had to wait for her to stop chatting again. We will try the restaurant again because we really liked the food and atmosphere, & we’re optimistic about better service on our next visit. A suggestion? Waitstaff with long hair should maybe put it up? *shrug* I will edit to 5 stars if our next visit is improved!
We went when there was a band. This place gets packed. Get there early for a table and dont get up because people will grab your seat. The food was surprisingly great. Our table had bang bang shrimp and crawfish. All in all a.good time. Watch out for Mr. Policeman when you leave. They sit snd watch cars leaving the parking lot.
Used to come here regularly 7-8 years ago, hadn’t been in a long time and stopped by for lunch. Unfortunately the quality of the food has gone way downhill since the last time I was here. I remember the chicken fried steak crust used the crunch and break apart when you cut into it, now it’s just like store bought at best, think frozen tv dinner chicken fried steak... Roll was stale and tasted storebought, nothing like they used to be. Only reason I’m even giving 4 stars is because the wait staff was fast, friendly and attentive.

Great way to start the day. FRESH , HOT COFFEE to go with bacon, eggs and toast . All cooked to perfection and served with a smile
Great food but seemed a little pricey for cafe. We got 2 of the 3 egg breakfast and a breakfast sandwich was $46. Very good and quick.

The food is still pretty good. .. the ambiance is not great and tv choices at the bar are offensive and not customer neutral
We're local and were looking for a spot to grab some breakfast. I had heard Skipper's had the best breakfast around, so we decided to give it a try. Upon walking in I noticed the place smelled like cigarettes. I didn't see anyone smoking, so don't know if it was an old, residual smell or what. The food was mediocre. My husband was taken aback by his omelet and not a fan. The heavy dose of political propaganda and rhetoric was just the icing on the cake. If you're just looking for a spot to grab a good breakfast without all of that noise, this is not the place.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. We came here to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We made our reservation two weeks in advance and even had the manager personally confirm it beforehand. After driving an hour to get there, we arrived only to be told our table had been given away. Completely unacceptable and beyond frustrating. For a special occasion to be handled this poorly is inexcusable. I’m not sure who dropped the ball, but this was a horrible experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and we definitely won’t be coming back.
I made a reservation two weeks in advance and even confirmed it with the manager ahead of time. However, when we arrived on the day of the reservation, we were informed that our table had been canceled. The manager on site stated that he canceled it because I did not answer a phone call 30 minutes prior to our arrival. At that time, we were already on our way to the venue and simply did not hear the phone ring. We arrived on time, only to find out our reservation had been given away. This was extremely upsetting, as I had carefully planned this dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. What made the situation even more frustrating was that another party arrived 30 minutes late for their reservation and their table was not canceled. The inconsistency in how reservations are handled is very disappointing. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I will not be returning.
We had reservations booked two weeks in advance and even confirmed them again this week. When we arrived, we were told our table had been given away. The manager claimed he called 30 minutes prior and, because we didn’t answer the phone, he canceled our reservation. No voicemail, no follow-up, no grace period — just canceled and seated someone else. That is not how reservations are supposed to work. If customers take the time to book and confirm in advance, the restaurant should honor that commitment. Canceling a confirmed reservation because someone didn’t answer a last-minute phone call is extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. Very disappointing experience, especially after planning ahead.
We had a reservation at 6:30. The manager Matt McMillan cancelled our reservation because we didn’t t answer a call 30 minutes prior. We couldn’t answer due to getting ready but he went ahead and gave our table away to some of his friends. You can tell they were friends since they kept calling him by his name. He said it was a misunderstanding but we waited over an hour for a table but there were other reservations there who had our same reservation time that had their tables. Not trying to say they were racist but we were the only ones with a Hispanic last name that had their reservation ms canceled. Matt kept making excuses for it but nothing made sense. Be careful here making reservations, seems like the managers will cancel your reservation to make room for their friends.
The service needs attention. When your place is that big and you dont have the service quality to match it, it shows. Never had refills on drinks, had to ask 3 different people for silverware (finally just got it myself aling with napkins). Didnt see the waitress at one point for 25 minutes. Its sad because their food is terrific but what is the point if we can't enjoy it with very basic needs.
This was a complete waste of money. The coffee is nasty, food comes swimming in a plate full of oil. They don’t know how to cook eggs, none of ours were correct. The waitstaff was mediocre at best. The floor was nasty and dirty. The first table we sat at was sticky so we moved only to find they are all sticky. Dead bugs outside everywhere like they have an infestation or something. I have no idea why anyone would suggest this place or even how it’s open. It’s not only just plain gross but a health hazard. One star is generous!!!!
During my recent visit to this breakfast establishment, I had an experience that I found quite disappointing. I was looking for a good spot to enjoy breakfast with my family, but unfortunately, the outcome was not what I had hoped for. Upon reviewing the menu, I noticed that the prices were not matching to the total bill. I ended up paying nearly $70 for just three plates of food, which felt unreasonable given the portions served. Additionally, the environment was quite overwhelming due to the presence of extensive political memorabilia and a TV broadcasting FOX News, which detracted from the overall dining experience. The noise level in the small venue was high, making it difficult to have a conversation. Furthermore, the wait time for our food was longer than anticipated, considering we were only ordering breakfast items. I personally ordered French toast, which did not meet my expectations, even though the server had recommended it as their favorite dish. Overall, based on this experience, I would suggest potential diners consider other options for breakfast, as this particular establishment did not provide a satisfactory experience.
